A very good and fresh selection of fish dishes. I highly recommend it.

I had the softshell crab bao buns. I thought they were okay, but unfortunately the wasabi sauce overpowered the entire bun. I wiped some off, but that didn't seem to help. It's a shame, because the crab was nice and crispy and the seaweed and cucumber go well with it. It would have been better if they had served Japanese mayonnaise with this instead of the wasabi sauce.

Not the friendliest shopkeeper in the neighborhood. 2 herring fillets for €8, 12 oysters for €47...it's very expensive.

Would not recommend coming here for the cod bite bao buns. If you think you are getting fresh seafood, you are wrong. Saw the stall owner take a frozen bag and dumped the cod bites into the fryer. On top of that, the prices are unreasonable. These two buns were close to €15, not worth the money at all. I would just like to point the cleanliness of the stall as well. It was utterly disgraceful to see how dirty it was. Considering it was an a place with an open kitchen, you would expect some standard of cleanliness and hygiene while your customers are waiting for their food. Floors were dirty, counters were covered in flour, etc.

Bad staff and owner with okay food at best. Had to wait 1 hour for 3 oysters just so the owner could finish his lil chat with sum customers(they were not ordering either). Mid oysters at best DO NOT visit if possible. If i could give 0/5 i would and i aint even picky.

We were here three years ago and had a wonderful person at the stall who made us fantastic food. They even gave us two complimentary oysters, which was great! To be fair, it was very quiet back then, so they had plenty of time to prepare everything properly. This time it was busier, and we ordered smelt/kibbeling, just like three years ago. However, unlike last time, they weren't properly fried and didn't taste particularly fresh; they had a rancid, fishy taste. Very disappointing. As for the service, there's not much to say. This time we ordered and picked up our food using a QR code on the table.

I had the small Calimari with sauce, it was very good! The chef/owner is very kind with generous portions that taste great, definitelyworth the money!

I wanted to try some local food and decided to try raw herring. It was very delicious and the portion was very generous. I also tried their raw oysters (French, Ireland and Dutch) and they were all very fresh. The owner was very nice and treated us to try an oyster. It is located inside foodhallen.

Oyster platter was awesome! I had to wait a bit but they gave me a free one. Workers were super friendly.

We had the battered cod, and it was delicious. Points were taken off for the lack of sauce; without it, it was dry. They also didn't provide forks or chopsticks to skewer the fish, so we had to ask. Otherwise, it's a great place to try local cuisine.

Finally we found Kippeling, deep-fried pieces of cod. Together with a delicious tartar sauce it was incredibly good. Recommended!

Places like this should be shut down, even if they're in line with much of Dutch cuisine. The quality of the food is poor, and so is the preparation. Take, for example, their medium portion of fried prawns for €10.99.

We went to the food hall for the first time, lots to choose from but this place looked really nice seafood. The calamari was some of the best i have ever tried. Great atmosphere in the food hall. It was quite busy but food was fast and there was seating available.

The staff serving were very friendly. The food was good, recommended for those looking for halal options.

The chef was very nice smiling man who asked me how my day was going before ordering. I ordered small bites crispy cod and got a very big portion! When I was surprised and asked is that is small, the very kind chef said no, but this is for your smile and asking me how I was this morning as well. The fish is very tasty and crispy and the staff is so kind!

Wonderful food... super attentive service! Try the squid (calamari) and the Dutch Smelt Fish which looks like a slightly smaller manjubinha and has a milder flavor.

I have been having the soft shell crab and shrimp since the Foodhallen opened! This was the worst experience- the fish was undercooked and the service was really poor for 27$ for 4 buns. When you charge a luxury price please remember to deliver good food and service.

You pay 24.99 for one "large" oyster 🦪 and five small ones... Their vinaigrette is overdone

Really that bad. That there is absolutely no control from the food halls as to what the stands do. Fish was really bad. Chips were inedible. Disinterest of the staff. Not even worthy of 1 star Very disappointing and way overpriced. .

Had cod bites and chips. Chips were good but had to pay extra for sauce. Fish bites rubbery and tasteless - not fresh at all!

Very mediocre, sauce costs extra and comes from a tube. Hygiene questionable (everything is touched with fingers), "cook" has music plugs in his ears. The music plugs should have been a warning. The ambience of the “Foodhallen” is nice, but that is no credit to “Mer Du Nord”. Not a recommendation, on the contrary!

6 oysters for 25 euros. These were the worst and smallest oysters I have ever eaten. The kitchen boy who opened it dug around with a knife and cut up the oysters. Don’t take Oyster at that place!!!

Both the service and the food leave a lot to be desired. The guy who served us was quite unpleasant to us and the cod nuggets we had ordered didn't taste like anything. We were lucky that at another stall they gave us a sauce with the potatoes and we were able to use it to give some flavor to the cod. We have eaten stones with more flavor than the cod in those nuggets.

Disappointing, primarily due to the poor customer service. I was served by an unenthusiastic staff member, no "Hello", pulled a blank face, and barely spoke. I ordered fish and chips which came with a small pot of sauce. When I politely asked if it was possible to get some more sauce, the same staff member responded rudely, as if I was inconveniencing him. He said he already gave me sauce. Despite being willing to pay for the extra sauce, it was treated as a major issue, leaving me feeling uncomfortable. I just walked away. I cannot recommend Mer du Nord Restaurant based on my experience based off their poor hospitality and customer service.

Good food but terrible order management. Says 4 minute for fried small fish and it's not ready after 15 minutes. Happend more than once.

Amazing staff & service! So friendly and welcoming, lots of zest & passion for what they do, delectable & well-presented assortment. Wandered into this magical place by chance when exploring the neighborhood on my only night in town. Surrounded by a vibrant atmosphere of culinary choices from a diverse selection of nations, well-illuminated and acoustically astir. I placed myself across from the oyster bar - where lo and behold my hungry eyes came across the most beautiful Dutch man the universe had ever created. He was sipping on a beer, casually enjoying the evening chatting with the oystress. I invited him over to my table with a wave of the chin and instantly was able to inspect this nearly perfect human being from a few inches away. Tall, dark, and handsome - straight from Hollywood. For several minutes I was Jennifer Lawrence and he was (a taller) Bradley Cooper… Soon lost in chat about dreams, travel, Chicago, Denver, LA, etc… levitating, and laughing. Back in Tokyo today… Too bad he ain’t *my* oyster… but the taste will linger 💔

The place to be, Lobster roll, cod nuggets, kalamari, everything unbelievable amazing, the person behind it, Collette, the sweetest and kindness person i have ever meet, if you are in the Food Hallen you definitely have to stop at this stand and try everything they have…

Ik ben al jaren een enorme oesterfan, bij mer du nord merk je dat de oesters vers zijn en dat de dressing altijd tip top in orde is. Een echte aanrader is de lobster roll en voor de oesters de Ierse Mor en de Zeeuwse Creuse!

I have never tried a lobster roll this good before! This deserves all the stars. The taste was amazing and the people that helped me were really kind.

Lobster roll does not meet expectations for this price. Tiny, and tastes bad. However, oysters were tasty.
