The service is top-notch and the food is delicious, absolutely nothing to complain about, you can go there with your eyes closed!

Hello. The pasta was served in two minutes and it is clear that it was like it came out of a microwave. Food without salt. It tastes terrible. We will not go back.

the food was okay, bolognese pasta was watery, not at all authentic or anything resembling bolognese. then the seafood soup was interesting. the squid was rock hard and very overcooked, the soup was hard to eat as most of the seafood was very overcooked. service was good, unlike the food. to drink and to watch football the restaurant is good, but to sit down and eat properly wasnt a good option. we werent happy with our food at all

Visited in 2024. Everything is fast and quite tasty, cheap for this city.

Pedí pasta de mariscos, pero es más probable que fuera pasta de baño loca. No lo disfruté en absoluto y no recomendaría a nadie. La señora también fue grosera.

The best Italian restaurant in Amsterdam

Lovely pizza place, food was nice but the spicy salami pizza was a bit bland, bolognese pizza was ok, we ordered fries which didnt arrive, when i asked about them she said the chef had missed it and would take another 15mins to be ready so we gave them a miss, staff friendly but came away slightly dissapointed.

Disgusting frozen carpaccio, simply a pizza with 3 foods fighting a duel, in short, move on.

Very nice place, Food is very delicious, we enjoyed the atmosphere.

All in all good food, spaghetti served and not spaghetti which is overcooked and tasteless. Order requests are approximately 50% mismatched. The request for bread is not fulfilled as the restaurant does not deal with it. Alternatively, white focaccia is offered which is paid handsomely (which is on the price list) but it is not said that the white focaccia and the one with cheese (which in any case was not requested) do not replace the bread basket which so far in other restaurants I have not they have never charged, they cost 7.50 and 9 euros respectively. I would never go back to them because even if we speak the same language we really didn't understand each other.......

Decent food. Service with some doubts: dishes not responding to our order despite speaking our same language; when we ask for bread we are told that they don't have any and that alternatively they can serve us focaccia which without warning will cost us dearly (like the price of a pizza)... Attention

Teníamos hambre y nos metimos en este pequeño italiano a comer unas pizzas . Estaban ricas… la carne no tan rica,un poco quemada y sabor extraño. Fueron muy simpáticos,,italianos de verdad y buena calidad de sus pizzas y buen precio.

The food is tasteless and quite expensive. Garlic bread is hard and dry, spaghetti are a bit over cooked. The waitress seems impatient to us. Not coming again.

I ordered aglio olio pasta and there was so much oil in the pasta...it is strange they did not provide some bread/toast with the pasta... However the pasta my husband had (tomato based ) even though was supposed to have vegetables...had only few pieces of vegetables. Stingy on vegetables... However the tiramisu was super yummy. Service was quick and efficient. The place can get pretty crowded and since on a busy street ...expect chaos on the street to sometimes come in 😀

We had pesto pasta and pork ribs. The pasta on the plate was dueling. They were fatty and mixed with a sauce from another dish. The ribs were served with salad and tomatoes without vinaigrette sauce. We noted that the pasta dish was thin in order to obtain a commercial gesture. We got nothing. Restaurant to avoid!

Although the place seemed decent to us at first glance, it turned out to be really mediocre: the haughty and vicious waitress will make you pay extra if, like everyone else, you want to add sauce with your fries (50c by pressure). This also means that she stares at you throughout the meal but doesn't tell you that you will be charged at the end. Also, don't eat a hamburger if you don't want to get poisoned by the meat. Spend your money elsewhere!!! To flee !!!!

In 1 hour they told me to go because they need a table for other customers. I had 2 phones and they refused to charge the second phone. This is not adequate. I came here, I made an order for 24 euro, and I get refused to charge second phone? I am a tourist here, I need 2 phones charged. That is why I came to this restaurant. I visited many different restaurants and this is the first time with me that restaurant refuses to charge a phone. I don’t recommend this place. The stuff is rude and disrespectful.

Obsługa bardzo, bardzo miła i uprzejma. Lokal sam w sobie jest ogolnie brzydki i można się spodziewać, że jedzenie będzie średnie. Pizza była natomiast bardzo smaczna. Dlatego 5 gwiazdek- wyglad lokalu nie ma znaczenia.

Cenamos unas pizzas muy ricas. Pero si algo tenemos que destacar es que se produjo un altercado con un hombre en la calle (estaba en unas condiciones terribles) y el camarero del restaurante fue hacía la puerta donde no se movió impidiendo el paso a éste, que quería entrar si o si. El camarero fue super educado y no perdió la calma nunca. La verdad que a todos los que estábamos dentro nos dió una tranquilidad muy, muy grande.

This restaurant ruined my vacation. Just because the woman owner has the kindness of a brick wall. First off, I’m unsure why this is u see the name “Il Peppeoncino” because the huge sign above the door outside says “Italiano Ristorante & Café”. The outward facing sign says it’s name is “Café Italiano”. Only on a tiny menu in the window does it say “Il Pepperoncino” Nevertheless, their poor choices of signage are not what drove this massively negative review. My mother always taught me, “You’ll catch more bees with honey than with vinegar”. In other words, be nice to people, & they’re yours. Be mean to people and you’ll lose them. Or in this case, you’ll lose business. She also taught me not to spit into the wind. Same concept. My friend & I needed to use the toilet. You know, nature calls & all that. We saw this large restaurant and knew it’d have toilets. It’s not uncommon for the toilets to be “for customers only” or to have to pay to use it. This restaurant is no different. But that’s where the commonality stops. We sat down, ready to order a couple drinks. That makes us customers, no? We had just finished eating brunch, and really didn’t even want drinks, but as the sign says, it’s for “Customers Only or €2” I told my friend to order me a Coke Zero (€3.50) & as I was heading towards the toilet, this seriously rude woman (I would describe her as a word that rhymes with witch”) put her hand towards me in a “stop” motion and said “the toilets are for customers only!” To which I replied, “Yes, we’re both getting drinks”. She responded with, “No! You must eat something!” Now, I’m no scholar, but being a customer doesn’t have stipulations. At least not in the real world. My friend was more desperate than I was & he’s not American, so he’s more willing to put up with this type of BS, so he said that he’ll pay. Then she said that we have to pay €2 per person to use the toilet. He was okay and proceeded to pay. I began to go I to the ladies toilet. There is a single toilet per room. This woman stopped me and said “The man uses the man’s toilet and the woman uses the woman’s toilet”. Let’s be clear. I’m a man. I don’t identify as anything other than a man, but this woman doesn’t know this. She tells me the woman’s toilet is clean. I told her I’ll be careful. She begins an argument that it’s needed for a woman. There was absolutely ZERO customers in the restaurant AT NOON! No woman was going to barge in, order some spaghetti and run to the toilet before I got out. A toilet is a toilet is a toilet. The only thing that differentiates the two is a sign placed on the door. She then begins to lie and tell me that she cleans the toilets after every single customer, which would certainly be against health code as she is, the person who serves the food as well. She is literally lying to my face. I couldn’t understand what her problem was, she knew that two people needed to use the toilet badly enough to pay for it. What is your problem, lady? I thanked her for informing me of her policies and procedures, as this only ensures that I will never eat at her restaurant. In the future, she said she doesn’t need my business. I beg to differ because a good restaurant is not completely empty during lunch. I then mentioned I could not wait to put this in a review. It was that comment where the lady lost her mind She began yelling and arguing with me, and telling me to take my money and leave. She throws down four euros on the counter, and as I began to pick them up, she grabbed one of the coins out of my hand. I believe it was her husband, who came upstairs to find out what the commotion was She was yelling and screaming, and making a fool of herself, in the most unprofessional manner. I told her to hold her breath because I wasn’t going to argue with her anymore. She began to argue some more when her husband also told her to stop. If this is the kind of service, this restaurant gives its customers, I highly suggest you look elsewhere!! I wouldn’t refer this restaurant to my worst enemy & I’m not even exaggerating. I don’t need to taste the food to know what a bitter aftertaste this restaurant has left in my mouth AVOID THIS RESTAURANT if you want to be treated like a human being.

Lekker eten en lieve mevrouw aan de bediening

We hadden een reuzehonger, maar t aanbod in de straten van Amsterdam is overweldigend… Dus keken we op Tripadvisor… Los van de negatieve commentaren hebben we het er toch op gewaagd… en gelukkig! We hebben zeer lekker gegeten, werden vriendelijk bediend, en de mhr vroeg zelfs of ik nog kaas jij wou… Topservice.

El mejor bar de todo el barrio rojo, la comida estaba espectacular, recomiendo el calzone pues está buenísimo, el precio también está muy bien teniendo en cuenta donde esta ubicado me esperaba precios mucho más elevados, el trato del personal también muy bueno, la señora que nos atendió es un encanto

Staff are lovely in here and we had a nice time. The food isn’t authentic Italian, the pasta and pizza was enjoyable to eat but nothing on actual Italian food. Nice to stop off for a bite while exploring Amsterdam but nothing more.

My family of 12 came for a joint birthday meal. They were incredibly courteous and friendly and delivered delicious food speedily and with great service. Would absolutely go again when visiting the city again!
