Happy Italy Eindhoven in Centrum

I recently ordered a carpaccio from your Eindhoven location, for which I paid €25. To my great disappointment, the carpaccio was absolutely not fresh. The meat had partially turned brown/greyish, and the taste clearly indicated that the product was no longer suitable for consumption. Therefore, I unfortunately had to throw away the entire carpaccio. This is not the quality I should expect, especially not for this price. I therefore request appropriate compensation, such as a refund or replacement meal. I have photos available for clarification.

Food was tasty, but service could be a bit faster

Nice ambiance and the service is also n pretty fast. I also like the play area for kids on the 1st floor.

Fritz is a super fun server. Great fun to chat with! The food was delicious, but it took a bit long.

I was waiting and this guy comes and he looks at us as if I had to say something so we ask "Do we have to say how many of us are there" and he just looks very arrogant and nods yes, I think the service is poor, he spoke English and had a beard and brown hair not good service from him specifically

I've eaten here before (a few years ago), and I've always really enjoyed it. Yesterday, however, I was disappointed. I received a lukewarm pizza with a soft crust, and the pizza wasn't crispy. I kept eating anyway because I was incredibly hungry. Halfway through, it was frozen solid and ice cold. I took the rest home and reheated it myself.

The food isn't great, but the dessert is. It's okay for a quick bite. More geared towards young people.

It's worth it, although the kitchen closes early because it's Eindhoven. The pizzas are large, the crust is amazing, and they're incredibly delicious with a great variety. The dessert is quite good too. I would remove the onion from all the pizzas; they all have it, and that's a mistake.

Happy Italy, not so happy anymore. I was there a long time ago, and the staff were very friendly and the food was delicious. I have no idea what happened, but now the staff is unmotivated. Ask a question and you get a curt, snappy response. We were there early afternoon last Saturday, and the place was empty except for a few customers. We were directed to a small table almost in the middle of the aisle. When we asked if we could sit by the window, it was too much to ask. It's only for four people! After some persuasion, we were finally allowed to sit, but we had to be quick with ordering and eating. Fine, we didn't have much time anyway. We asked how long it would be before the food was ready: 10 minutes. Great!… we thought. It took over fifteen minutes before she finally came to take our order, and another 20 minutes for the food to arrive. Normally, it's no problem if the food takes a little longer, but don't tell her it will be ready soon. Anyway. I ordered cheese fondue for two. A kind of round bread was brought on a small board, with barely melted mold or blue cheese floating in it. The cheese wasn't great, but the bread covered in cheese was fine. Besides this "bread pizza" with cheese, there were some small tomatoes, strips of bread with melted cheese (which looked and tasted like they'd been sitting out all day), a few slices of cheap ham that were squashed together in one lump, and a few slices of salami (which were fine, by the way) on the far-too-small board, from which a lot of food rolled off when you tried to grab something. Plates? No. Too much to ask. There were also concerns about the staff's hygiene. You see someone scratching their head in the kitchen, then immediately grinding herbs with their hands and adding them to a sauce or something... Yuck! To end on a positive note: Despite being a bit noisy (even with few customers), the atmosphere is pleasant. It was nicely decorated, and I saw a ball pit upstairs for children. No, not a Happy Italy for us, but an UnHappy Italy where we won't be returning.

The Happy Italy restaurant in Eindhoven has completely gone to the dogs. We were there for the last time. We ordered a Kaas Fondue pizza. We were given a long board for two. It had our dish on it, but no plates were served. The fondue was melted in the center of the pie. It was impossible to cut it because everything would have leaked out. Next to it were pieces of dry, sliced ​​pizza. They weren't from the same pie, because they didn't fit together. You know what I mean – they looked like leftovers left by others. I walked over to the kitchen area. A young guy with completely rotten teeth spoke to me in English, and next to me, a girl was frying chicken, stirring and crumbling something in her hands over a pan. Her hands were empty, so I don't know what she was crumbling. My guts dropped. They were tense, as if a secret was being stolen from them. And yet, the kitchen was open. I remember a few years ago, I could enjoy watching professional chefs and the crackling oven. Apparently, that's forbidden now. We ate uncertainly, and not everything. Our table looked like a pig's nest because they didn't give us plates! Never again!

Fast and tasty, better fast food

The restaurant is very nice, the atmosphere is great, and the staff are extremely kind

We ordered a doner pizza (and I was wondering if it was the same one because there was very little of it) and coffee and limonade. The pizza was eaten and 20 minutes later we got our drinks. This is some kind of joke, not a restaurant!!!!

The service was a bit rough, and it didn't feel entirely hospitable. The pizza wasn't fully baked and could have stayed in the oven a few minutes longer. The pizza was practically thrown on the table. The prices are reasonable.

I ordered homemade lemonade. It was supposed to come with lemon and mint, but there was no mint at all, and the lemon was a very thin slice. I ordered pasta Alfredo with shrimp (5 euros extra) and literally got 6 shrimp. The cutlery was also dirty.

There is only one type of pizza that I like which is only served here. The only reason to return

Back from a great Italian meal, yes, since the new owner got it, because we couldn't adjust after the takeover. Now they have a really delicious menu again. It's a shame the calzone pizza is gone, but we'll definitely be back. Good job, entrepreneur. Yes, see the photos, we've eaten everything.

A truly great place! Our waiter, Frits, was a really friendly man. Excellent service. The food was also delicious!

Yesterday I ate at Happy Italy for the first time, having made a reservation through Social Deal. Unfortunately, my visit was very disappointing. The pasta I received was bland, and the shrimp seemed like it had come straight from the freezer. The staff also seemed disinterested and showed little engagement. Fortunately, I was able to choose another meal. The pizza I chose was okay. The crust, in my opinion, was too soft. If you plan to go around dinnertime, be aware that you'll likely wait in line for an hour and end up in a crowded restaurant, surrounded by a lot of noise and screaming children. Furthermore, the restrooms weren't clean. There was no toilet paper, and even the faucet was loose. All in all, it wasn't a pleasant experience for me, and I see no reason to return.

It took a while before we got in but the food was fine

We had a reservation. They just make you wait outside for an hour... so there's no point in making a reservation. Here, they make people make reservations and then just wait for their spot until it becomes available. It's mediocre. I've eaten there once before, and it was fine.

Ate there during Glow Eindhoven. It was very busy with an almost constant line of about 30 people, but Happy Italy is big enough for that.

I had a reservation for 6:00 PM. Then I had to wait in line for an hour. That's not what you expect when you make a reservation. Ultimately, I was helped by unprofessional staff. Our drinks were served after the food had already been on the table for a while. The restrooms could have been cleaned. The food was fine, but nothing special. I had called ahead because I was there for dinner for a special occasion. I asked if they could arrange something, and they said there would be fireworks with the meal and that it would be included in the reservation. In the end, I didn't see anything. Not a success for me.

We've been coming here at least once a year for the past seven years. Seven years ago, the staff had real personality. They greeted us at the door... it made us feel special. This time, it's like they're rushing us. They just bring the food, clear away, and that's it. No one even asks if we'd like anything else to drink. Plus, the pizzas have gotten smaller. That's not good either. And it's still the same pasta... Unfortunately, it's no longer our favorite.

We had a reservation for 6 p.m. When we arrived, we had to join the line outside, hoping for a table. There were even people with a 5:15 p.m. reservation still waiting. Absolutely outrageous! Don't take reservations then. We ended up eating somewhere else.

The food was nice, but once there are more people, it gets very noisy.

We went for dinner on a relatively busy day (Glow). The food was served on truly filthy plates; they were completely sticky and covered in dust. The pasta carbonara smelled and tasted like wet dog. Fortunately, we were able to send the plates back and exchange the carbonara for a pizza fungus. The staff were quite accommodating. The pizza was fine and large. The pasta salmon was also a good portion, but not that tasty. Okay for the price, I guess. The staff was understaffed. We won't be back.

A real farce, a "big joke!" The "food" is subpar, as is most of the service. I've been here three times tonight: the first, the last, and NEVER again.

It's been a while since we've been here. Previously, it wasn't the best experience, but things seem to have improved considerably, including the number of people who had made reservations. 😅 We hadn't booked, but despite it being incredibly busy, we didn't wait long. We were able to quickly order drinks using the QR code on the table, and someone came by soon after to take our order. The main course arrived very quickly, while desserts, ironically, took longer, but that turned out to be due to a system error with the QR code order. The food was also excellent; both the pizzas and the new waffle (and the children's ice cream) were all very popular. A huge improvement compared to a few years ago!

The food was good, but the waiter suddenly took my plate while I was still eating to show it to another table. Disgraceful.

This was honestly the worst carbonara I've ever had. There was even a bottom of water on my plate. The staff is friendly and helpful, but they have far too few for the size of the place. You have to wait a long time, even when it's quiet.

I hesitated to come here given the number of negative reviews, but in the end I didn't regret it at all… spacious, well-decorated place… impeccable service… no delays… the food is good… we had pasta and pizza and it was delicious…

Frits was incredibly helpful! His service and friendliness were excellent. Thanks to him, we were still able to enjoy the experience. Frits's colleagues, on the other hand, were a bit antisocial. One colleague asked us, "Have you made a choice yet?" We replied "yes," and then the man simply walked away. Very strange. But thanks to Frits, I'm still giving the restaurant 4 stars!

It's been a long time since I've been here. The spaghetti is good, but I ordered a verdure with an extra meatball, but I got meatballs. It's a shame that they aren't real meatballs anymore, but vegetarian ones.

I wouldn't recommend this place. Overcooked pasta with a soup feel, plastic bowls, tiny drinks and a very mass produced atmosphere, the furthest thing from Italian. I should have read the reviews before going.

we ordered pasta and pizza and we were unfortunately disappointed. pizza was average, nothing special but ok, no overall problem with that but pasta was just bad. the sauce (i ordered carbonara) was not even close to an original carbonara. it was like a baddly executed mixture of margarine with fresh cream. the positives are, the service was good, quick delivery of food and good atmosphere. i hope that this was just a bad night for our order since the place was full.

The food was okay, but the service is VERY slow. Our server was very rude and short with us when we ordered and when we were ready to leave, she deliberately ignored us when we tried to get her attention several times to pay. We had to ask someone else so we could actually leave. I would definitely not recommend if you are a tourist.

Unfortunately, it was disappointing. We had to wait a long time for our pizza. The staff barely spoke Dutch, which I found very unpleasant and unfriendly. All in all...it took 1.5 hours, and after repeatedly asking, we unfortunately skipped our dessert. This...because a parking ticket would be a shame.

I was there yesterday again after 2 years... AFTER 30 min waiting, dinner is come. Nothing change still, bad service, bad cleaning, and most importand thing is taste… totally bad and wrong, dont eat any pasta please!!!! maybe pizza margarita ,Rest is very bad and also chesy bread!!!! not fresh….

Our daughter loves pizza, so during the summer holidays we promised her we'd combine a day in Eindhoven with pizza from Happy Italy. We weren't expecting Italian-style quality, but this was quite the opposite extreme. The pizzas simply weren't good, and the other dinner companion's pasta carbonara was awful. Appearances are important, and Happy Italy hasn't quite caught on yet. We certainly won't be going back.

Delicious but simple food, pizza and pasta, but no lasagna... Meagerly topped pizzas, but tasty...

Unfortunately, this special evening was completely ruined. We arrived on October 5, 2025 (approximately 5:30–7:30 PM, Table 410) to celebrate a friend's birthday. Below, I'll describe our experience step by step: • Upon arrival, we had to stand for 15–20 minutes; eventually, we were shown to a table. • After being seated, we looked at the menu and made our choice, but for 10–15 minutes, no one came to take our order. We ended up having to order ourselves using a QR code. • The dishes—two pizzas and one Caesar salad—arrived more than 30 minutes late. The pizza crusts were extremely hard, almost as if we were eating dry bread. The salad was quite okay. • After eating, we waited at least 10 minutes for our plates to be cleared. I gestured several times, but no one came, so I went to a waiter myself. • Because it was a birthday, we ordered one tiramisu and one piece of cake. I saw the order being entered into the system. • However, the dessert turned out to be a fiasco: the first 30 minutes were empty. When I asked again, the waiter said, "I'll take care of it right away," but 20 minutes later, the desserts still hadn't arrived. In total, we waited about 50 minutes for dessert. • Meanwhile, other tables had received their food and dessert and had already left; new customers came in and received their orders on time. However, our desserts didn't arrive. • Finally, we wanted to cancel the desserts. At that point, three different staff members came to our table with varying excuses: "We're short-staffed," "The order didn't go to the kitchen," "Sometimes this happens." No one offered a genuine apology or took responsibility. • The staff's attitude and communication were cold and impersonal; there was no empathy and no attempt to resolve the issue.

The pizza was okay at best, and my dessert was truly awful… 5.45 for a small scoop of ice cream and a tough cookie that could make people lose their teeth…

Never again, they're not that happy, very unfriendly staff, pizza was very mediocre, toilets very dirty, no toilet paper, no soap and the tap was broken, they came by without asking with an ATM card, I know it's not a culinary high-end restaurant but next time I'll just go back to Da Verdi!!

We decided to try this place and unfortunately it turned out to be a very disappointing experience. The pasta itself was extremely thick and heavy, which completely ruined the texture and made it quite unpleasant to eat. On top of that, it had almost no flavor at all, so it felt bland and poorly prepared. We ordered two carbonaras, expecting the traditional recipe, but instead we were served a version made with cream, which is not authentic and only made the dish even heavier and less enjoyable. It was really not what you would hope for when ordering a classic Italian pasta dish. On the positive side, the staff were very friendly, attentive and welcoming, which we definitely appreciated. However, even though the service was nice, the quality of the food was so underwhelming that it overshadowed the good attitude of the team. Overall, if you are looking for genuine flavor or proper pasta, this is not a place we would recommend. 42€

Long waiting time to get a table without reservation even there were tables available. Also getting food took a long time. Last round for drinks was already at 20:30 even we didn't had our meal on the table. In my opinion it was a very bad service! The pizza so quiet ok, but I also had better ones. It was also not the cleanest restaurant.

This is Dutch doing Italian. I doubt there was ever an Italian person involved in any part of the food. At least they had Italian beer. That was the best part.

We went in and waited almost 10 minutes for someone to show us to our table, even though it was very quiet and there was literally no one there. So we just sat down ourselves. While they saw us, they didn't bring us a menu or speak to us for 10 minutes. We simply got up and left.

Every time I walk into Happy Italy, there's something wrong. Now I'm practically asked to sit on two other guests' laps because the gentleman doesn't want to walk 3 meters. They always cram customers together. The customer is king, my friend. If I want a quiet spot, I should be able to! But luckily, I never have that problem at Vapiano across the street, as always, fantastic! Learn from that!

Burnt food... but still had to pay full price... Never again...

Unfortunately, the pasta carbonara I was served was burnt.

Highly recommended for families with children. I've never seen such a large and fantastic play area in a restaurant before. It's set up like a small indoor playground and even has a ball pit.

No soap in the toilet, open, empty bottles of oil on the table, no atmosphere at all, a very friendly waiter, and one who found "tasty" too difficult

As usual very crowded, we got lucky and there was a table for 2 without reservation. Friendly personnel, food and drinks got served very fast.

Food was tasty but server forgot to bring our pizza so waited 20+ mins between meals.

One year ago I had a very good carbonara. Today I expected to have something similar, but it was far from what I had previously. The panceta was raw, i notified it and the supervisor of the kitchen said that it was supposed to be like that. It was uneatable and the whole sauce was tasting like raw pork. I was not given another option, I did not like that.

Cutlery was very dirty, there was one other person sitting there, they still had food residue on it when the pasta plate arrived, it was also not completely washed properly and someone else saw the lips of one of the previous glass users on the dishes, they could use some work.

What a disappointment. My order was wrong three times, pasta was returned, and I received half-baked solutions each time. Throwing a raw handful of spinach on the plate and then putting it back/throwing it on the table is not what I call service. Unfriendly staff, no responsibility, and we had no appetite. I'd always been a fan of Happy, but after this visit, never again.

The best pizza/pasta on the Netherlands, really good prices

Delicious food, friendly service, although almost no one speaks Dutch. Had to wait a bit long for the order to be taken and the food to arrive, but in good company, it wasn't too bad. Highly recommended.

This place went downwards,from favorite to never again. Since moving had no chance to go so for my birthday fast snack decided go for tasty pizza. First waiting for ever to order,then pizza came and even 10 min later still simple beer was not delivered. And table wear was not checked,2 persons with one set tablewear without napkin ,took from other table set with dirty knife

Pizza was just ok, nothing special, even you expecting something better than ordinary when place have "Italy" on name. What I really didnt like was that if you order water, you get tiny tiny bottle but robber priced; I think it was 3,75€ of that bottle.😡 Actually that did take away all enjoy of whole place and the pizza too. Thats why only 2 stars. Pizza price was ordinary 12-13€.

From the moment we entered the restaurant, we waited over an hour for two pizzas and one pasta dish. The service was terrible. If I have to wait that long for such simple food, I understand why people would choose fast food, as this place isn't worth the effort. This isn't the first time I've had to ask the staff to place an order. Unfortunately, I won't give this place another chance because it's a waste of time and money.

Hebben met vier op het terras gezeten. Ik denk misschien iets te weinig personeel op het terras zelf want ons drinken kwam tegelijk met ons eten. Wij hadden alle vier een pasta en was zeer lekker. De pizza's die voorbij kwamen op het terras zagen er ook groot en goed uit.

Very affordable and delicious food, with generous portions. It's large, with many tables. It took a while for us to take our order, but the food was delivered quickly. The kids had a blast in the ball pit. There's a bit of smoke inside (probably from the kitchen), but because it's so big, it didn't bother us much.

Delicious pizzas, usually quick and definitely inexpensive. However, I heard from a friend who works here that the kitchen isn't very hygienic.

Great place to eat with family and friends. It's a shame you make a reservation for 6 and still don't get a table until 6:45 because of the line. Reservations guarantee a spot at a specific time. This made us late for our next appointment. Very annoying. So, no point in making a reservation! Otherwise, delicious food and friendly service!

We waited two hours, half an hour just to order. I even had to wave, otherwise I couldn't order anything, and then we waited an hour and a half for our food. And all that in a corner under the air conditioning. Never again to this ballet place.

Ordered 3 fusilli pastas and all got penne

The pizza was very mediocre. Too thick, with a very thick crust. The prosciutto and cheese hadn't been baked in the oven and were simply placed on top. It had nothing to do with Italian pizza. Dessert: iced coffee, tiramisu, the worst dessert we've ever tasted. Lukewarm milk with espresso and ice cubes. Tasted like nothing, and certainly not tiramisu. After complaining that we thought the syrup had been forgotten, we were given fresh syrup, which was very kind. But unfortunately, it still tasted only of watery, sweet coffee and milk.

We got caught in the rain and the smell of food and warmth brought us to this place. The waitress gave us a choice of tables, we sat down by 3 windows. The service was fast and high-quality. We ordered coffee, pasta and pizza. The pasta was very tasty, but the pizza was disappointing. In this place, it is not cut and there are no pizza knives. We had to cut it with table knives and naturally this killed the atmosphere. The filling is quite tasty, but not super, the crust is good. We realized that we did not eat the pizza, they kindly gave us a take-out box. Special thanks for this. To wipe your hands, you have only one napkin. Yes, it is thick, but one. Ka4 and with latte macchiato coffee there is also one stick of sugar. There were no dispatchers with napkins on the tables. There were special salt, pepper, olive oil and oil with chili pepper. No toothpicks.

Pizza besteld om mee te nemen. Als extra topping ham genomen verder niets extra 's , bedrag 14,95. Toen ik thuis was zag ik dat de ruwe ham koud was en niet eens in de oven had gelegen en de paar stukjes koude paprika ook niet, wat een kale bedoeling ! Had het idee dat de bodem alleen met tomaten pasta bestreken was en zo in de oven, zelden zo een slechte pizza gegeten, geen kaas wat een smakeloze pizza, eens maar nooit meer !

The pasta carbonara had no flavor at all, and the pesto pasta didn't really taste like pesto either. The cheesy garlic bread with pesto was good, though. There was a smoky haze inside, which was annoying.

Fast, friendly service. The seafood on the pizza doesn't have a typical flavor, but it's extremely salty.

We waited for our order for about an hour, and when they brought it, it wasn't our order, after they brought our order, they carried forks and spoons for a long time, in short, there was no service, but the food was tasty and not expensive.

Outside my home country (Croatia) and Italy (southern) maybe the best pizza in more then dosen European countries. And staff is a pure gold !!!

It's not what it used to be. We used to like coming here years ago. But now it was bad. We ordered food and drinks at the same time and got the food served first. We had to ask again for the drinks. We sat outside where the terrace was very dirty. The food wasn't really great either. We won't be coming here again for a while.

After we sat down somewhere in the restaurant, the waitress came and said that it was not allowed there, while it was completely empty. When the food came, she put the plates, forks and knives on the side without giving them to us. The desserts smelled like egg... and you feel like you are sitting on a piece of pavement. The service was bad, I had to get up myself to get my plates, forks and knives

Typical fast food restaurant. You can eat quite cheaply, especially if you buy a Social Deal voucher online. The pizza is good, but it's a shame it's not cut. The atmosphere is a bit like McDonald's.

I'm a bit surprised about other reviews of this place. To me, it was quite decent. Maybe because it was a super sunny day, where we could eat outside and the environment was pleasant. The decoration is fine. Actually I like it. They have upstairs a nice kids playground. The food was not bad. The risotto was better than in other places. The pizza for kids was good and the pink lemonade also fine. Do not expect super high quality food, but the price is neither super high. So, not bad. We liked it.

Unfriendly service. We were chased away from the terrace

We used to really enjoy this place, but unfortunately, our last visit was disappointing. I found a hair in my pizza, which is completely unacceptable. On top of that, the overall quality of the pizza has noticeably declined. We hope things improve, but this experience has definitely made us reconsider returning.

No more salmon at 7pm. Pasta was not warm, seafood hard to find in the pasta. 1 person didn't get her food until everyone was done.

Pizza was burnt, pasta was overcooked & inedible. Bathrooms were all disgusting & out of soap, including the employees'. Service was really bad & servers don't care.
