It is Saturday, August 22, 2026, the sun is shining. After swimming, I went with my children to HFC at Kanaleneiland Nova shopping center in Utrecht. We were incredibly hungry and craving the chicken wraps. I ordered a lot of hot wings and tenders. They were deliciously seasoned. Nice and fresh and warm. The food here is definitely Halal, you know. The Rosti chicken burgers were also delicious, and nice and warm, which I really love. My favorites are definitely the chicken wraps. They have large chicken drumsticks here. My son loves the spicy burger with jalapenos on it. The atmosphere was great. It is neat and clean. The ladies' restroom was fine, and fortunately, the men's restroom was too. One is defective, but it is still being repaired. Toilet paper and hand soap were available. The staff is relaxed and the bomb. Hahahaaaa. If you want fresh chicken, this is the place to be. Tasty Turkish and Halal. Free parking for the first two hours. Wheelchair access, ball pit. Just don’t eat here it’s really not worth the price, extremely poor taste and old chickens being used, too much oily food. Most importantly the prices are extremely high.

Change the name of the business to 'halal NOT fried chicken' or HNFC. Its the 4th time I've visited in a few years and the last time they will dissapoint me. How can you call yourself this and not sell fried chicken? Its not a problem with this store itself but an issue with the whole business structure. It's clear that higher management is completely incompetent and aren't interested in the transactional growth of their business. I feel sorry for the staff that look stupid when they say 'we don't have fried chicken' on behalf of the business. No wonder Muslims don't care here and just haraam KFC instead.

I ordered almost every day for 2 weeks and suddenly delivery costs 3 euros? You were really great, no minimum order amount and no delivery costs. Great. Only now I pay 15 euros for 4 hot wings and 6 mini cheese ouflee. Might as well order somewhere else. I can choose and eat more for the same money. You guys are great never any complaints. Good food. But this was it for me

Looks abandoned and dead inside. No play area. No atmosphere. Half the hall is boarded up. The food was disappointing too. The fries were reheated and not fresh. It's a shame it used to be better here.

I recently ordered a chicken menu, a fish menu; the chicken was still raw on the inside, not cooked enough.

What a wonderful experience! The service was excellent, the food was delicious, and everything was prepared with great care. The young man who served us on 06-06-2026 at 16:19 was incredibly customer-friendly, helpful, and very sweet. A wrong burger had been prepared. We were allowed to eat it for free, and the correct burger was prepared as well. You really feel welcome here. Thanks for the amazing service, I will definitely be happy to come back! I am sad to say that the most recent order we received was incredibly disappointing. Normally, the drumstick pieces have lots of meat and are cooked perfectly. This time, it was clear that the chicken was overcooked and dry. I took this picture the next morning. The only reason I did not call and enquire about a refund is because we live quite far from the restaurant and I was so hungry by the time my husband got home with the order. It is definitely not the quality I am used to!

Halal? That crap tasted like it was haram, man. The fries were thrown in the deep fryer 7 times or something, the chicken was cold, and let's not even get started on that smashburger. Come on man, how hard is it?

What I ordered was sold out. Instead of the side salad, I received a bowl of iceberg lettuce with pieces of chicken. There was no sauce with it. It was very dry. The chocolate milkshake did not taste like chocolate. It took more than half an hour before we were served. Normally, I always go to HFC Amsterdam. Things are always well organized there. Friendly staff and the food tastes good.

I came here to sit down for a meal and chose a spot in a corner where I wanted to sit. Unfortunately, I noticed that the table was dirty. When I asked the waiter if he could clean the table, he said that they were too busy and that he couldn't do it, and that I should just go sit somewhere else. What made it even worse was that the other tables I was directed to were also dirty. I found this very unprofessional and disrespectful. As a customer, I expect at least a clean table and normal service. This was a major disappointment for me.

You're better off making a burger at home than coming here. Fire up the air fryer, and the food will be better than here. The store itself doesn't smell fresh. And the service is terrible. There are much better halal options than this. The prices are also way too high for what you get. Frozen burgers from Albert Heijn are even better.

People who work there are antisocial and dirty. My 2 year old child shows more respect than those ladies behind the counter. I would rather starve than eat there. Literally very disappointed. Price is very high. Very very very disappointed in everything. In short, NEVER AGAIN.

A soft drink that's included in the menu is being charged for, even though it's not mentioned. The display simply says "all menus include fries and a soft drink (Red Bull + 2). And then they tell me they can't refund an extra €1.65 because it's included in the menu. Ultimately, after five minutes of discussion, I got my money back. And I haven't even mentioned the burger, which was supposed to have jalapeño peppers in it, which it didn't. Scammers! Don't come here!

I have ordered spicy chicken wings with menu orders and they forgot it, so basically I got robbed.

It's the driest sandwich I've ever eaten. The beef isn't cooked enough. It's too soft, you can see slightly pink bits. It feels like ground beef without any seasoning. The sandwich is very greasy and resembles Albert Heijn's buns. The pictures on the menu have nothing to do with reality. The fries are rock hard. This is truly awful.

Really bad food and also bad staff

Smashburger is incredibly small for what you pay. The cheese nuggets are also way too expensive at Burger King; they're half the price. The interior of the building could use some updating. The people preparing the food aren't wearing company uniforms, they're just regular clothes from home.

Unfortunately, we didn't have a positive experience at HFC. Upon entering, it was immediately noticeable that the slogan lettering on the counter was damaged, which gave a sloppy impression. A small repair would have made a big difference. The tables were reasonably clean, although this could have been better; there were still food scraps here and there. The floor also felt very sticky, as if drinks had been spilled and not cleaned properly. Now for the food: We ordered 2 drumsticks + fries + cola, 10 hot wings, and a smashed burger. Unfortunately, the drumsticks weren't good; after exchanging them twice, we switched to hot wings. Fortunately, they tasted fine, so I'm still giving the food 2 stars. The fries were dry and looked like they had been re-fried several times. A shame, because fries should be fresh and crispy. The double smashed burger (10+ euros) was also disappointing: plain, tasteless, and certainly not worth the price. This left me feeling unsatisfied with the entire meal. I'm not usually very critical, but this experience was very disappointing. We think there are better alternatives in Kanaleneiland.

Almost most clean and neat fast food place i have ever seen !

I got a chicken burger here for the first time yesterday. Unfortunately, my mouth burned because the chicken was so juicy it squirted out with the first bite, but it was worth it because it was really delicious. I'll definitely be back.

It takes at least 30 minutes for the food to be ready, and the staff are SOOOOO SLOW! Unbelievably slow!

Never in my life have I had such amateurish burgers and fries. I paid 30 euros for something that was worth 10 euros at most. It was really outrageously bad. The burgers were super dry and not special, it looks like it was a burger from AliExpress, there was hardly anything on it and it looked awful, so limp, dry, tasteless and bare as if it had been in your kitchen for 2 days. I even think my 8 year old nephew can put together something better. Then I wonder if you are not ashamed to give something like that to people. A 3.5 rating out of 5 stars is more than you deserve when I look at the food like that. They were just really dramatic, disappointing sandwiches that were maybe worth 3 euros. The fries were really bad and dry. The sauce was also forgotten while I had paid extra for it, can also just be included for free. And also the wrong drink... HFC should really be ashamed that they dare to give this food for such an expensive price, outrageous. I would not recommend anyone to eat here. Unless you want to be ripped off. Really very disappointed. Never again will I order from here.

This was my last time there. Wrap menu, a bit expensive but ok and then the chicken in it was way too peppery and too much sauce. The fries were fried too hard and very salty. Trays stuck to handles and my clothes stuck to the edge of the table that had not been cleaned in a long time. I don't have to go there anymore.

I had a smash burger menu. Cost almost 15 euros with drinks and sauce. For such a price I expect some quality. Unfortunately, that quality was hard to find. A normal whopper from Burger King tastes even better. I wouldn't recommend this burger to anyone. The lack of competition in this location may be one of the causes of the poor quality. Then about the service. That guy just throws your bowl of fries directly onto your tray. Very unsanitary. There isn't even a piece of paper or anything on the tray. And yes the atmosphere. Once in the ghetto of Utrecht. So that's how it feels. For that price you could rather get a chicken grilled sausage sandwich and a hair salon next door.

Terrible, I had to wait 45 minutes for my burger. And it was still half frozen... service was super bad. Not even an apology... Hotwings super greasy. Chairs all broken. I wouldn't want to eat anymore even if I got it for free...

Bad service My order at HFC was incomplete: the fries were missing, and instead of the large chicken pieces I received small hot wings. When I called to report this, I was not taken seriously at all. The employee ended the conversation with “hadi hadi” (Dutch: “ga ga”) and hung up. This was downright antisocial and unprofessional. I will never order here again! They charge 40€!

I ordered a 2/1 snack box consisting of 3 tenders and 5 Nuggets. In the end I got 5 nuggets and 2 tenders! They also lost a sandwich once

I came to this place specifically to eat during my break. I was already running out of time. PIN machine didn't seem to work. Requested to withdraw cash at the AH. That was fine. Order was taken by the employee, which was completely fine. Back from debit card not even 5 minutes. It turned out that they hadn't started processing my order yet, so of course you thought never mind, especially since I was already running out of time. If you do not want to accept the Order until payment has been made, please let me know. While it is not my fault that the card reader does not work... Poor service and poor communication while there were 3 other employees. Not one who thinks, let's just say that we only start making the order after payment. Unfortunately another mediocre review for HFC Utrecht Chicken pieces are small chicken legs, little meat, a lot of crispy casing. The wrap was extremely salty and way too spicy. Then the service, only 1 man (with beard and tattoo on arm) scores a sufficient score, the rest are uninterested, find the phone more important, a lot of Turkish is spoken. But now I have news: as a born Dutchman, I understand, read and understand the Turkish language, DILINE DIKKAT ET DOSTUM!! This business urgently needs a strict supervisor who will ensure that the business remains open. As things are going now, I predict no successful, popular fast food chain will survive for long. Aren't you ashamed? This was once a nice place where you could go for tasty halal burgers. It was once kid-friendly and clean. I have no idea which idiot is in charge here, but what a neglected business this is. The guys who work there work there reluctantly and shout at each other in Turkish in front of customers. The food is a hit or miss every time. Often the fries are really bad. Too dry or too greasy. So last Tuesday they were cold and dry. Fortunately, the double cheeseburger was tasty. I had to change my daughter, but man man, what a mess in the toilets. There was a “board” for changing clothes, but I didn't trust it. I just changed her in her travel cot. Nasty mess. The right toilet has been "defective" for years and there is never any soap. Now the door handle is off, so I have no idea whether you can still get out of that cage when you close the door. Too bad I only saw this after dinner, because if the toilets are so dirty, I don't have high expectations of the kitchen either. Bah!

Their fried chicken is much better than KFC's. Does not accept some credit and debit cards, so you'd better have cash with you. Average interior. Fits your shopping plans, as it is inside a big mall with all kinds of stores.

The food is tasty. The tent does lack the necessary maintenance. And not only the toilets (wiping on walls and doors, no soap and no locks) but also the walls... drinks machine is broken... no technician? And it screams 'DEFECT!!! BROKEN!!!" So a neglected tent. Not necessary.

Worst service ever! Waited for hours for our food. When you call, it will take another 10 minutes because the delivery person is on his way. I live 10 minutes from the HFC. Fries way too much salt and bread cold. This one goes straight into the trash. Never ever order here, it's a waste of your money. And you are not taken seriously as a customer anyway.

I had ordered a bacon burger to pick up, but due to my haste I didn't check to see if everything had gone well. When I got home there was no bacon on my bacon burger. I called the store and got an employee on the phone, through whom the manager started a discussion with me about the bacon. According to him, he had done it himself, but this was really not an option. I asked the manager himself on the phone, but he didn't want to. After 5 minutes of discussion he said come and see the images, when I said 'that's fine' I was suddenly allowed to pick up another citizen. Very strange and a shame, I drove to this place specifically for a bacon burger, but not a second time for me.

I don't want to put them in a bad light because I've eaten here before and it was delicious. But ever since I started seeing young boys working behind the counter and in the kitchen, the food is sometimes good and sometimes bad. Most of these reviews seem like haters and/or fired employees. I see noise and a lot of nuisance, but I don't notice it at all. I also read that the employees don't feel like working, but this is no reason that it should have an effect on your review. One of the tastiest hot wings I've ever eaten. I'm a real person and not a bot giving reviews or etc. It is genuinely a good restaurant. Highly recommended.
