We didn’t reserve a table at this place, but luckily they still had some space to fit us in. First of all, the service is very friendly and kindhearted. The food was sooooo tasy!!! It probably arrived 6 Minutes after ordering. We had the corndogs, bibimbab? and korean fried chicken (boneless) and it was very delicious. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very nice. One of the best Korean restaurants in Amsterdam! Great food, great atmosphere, and quite a lot of options to choose from. Their fried chicken and tokbokki weren’t my favourite, but their dishes are good overall, and their corndogs are really special!

We came here as a group of four and left very happy! The food is impressively authentic — as close as it gets to what you’d find in Korea. They even serve makgeolli, which is quite rare to find in Amsterdam. I really liked their bingsu and can definitely recommend saving some space for this traditional Korean dessert — though that might be difficult, since the rest of the food is also excellent. We tried almost all the starters; the corn with cheese was a bit ordinary (it’s just corn with cheese, after all), but everything else was great. For the chicken, we preferred the traditional sauce slightly more than the soy and ginger one, but both were good. Kimbap was super good and full of ingredients. Service was fast and attentive. I would only improve the atmosphere: it felt too simple, I would make it a bit cozier. Overall, highly recommended!

We had a delicious meal with very attentive service. I've rarely seen anyone in the hospitality industry smilingly hang up streamers for one of their regulars. It's always a good sign when the people working there seem to be enjoying themselves too.

Been there many times: the hospitality is 10+. Located right in the city center, close to work, it's a great place to enjoy a meal and the atmosphere. Recommended for any occasion.

This was my first time eating Korean food in the Netherlands, and it was so delicious. It suited my Korean palate and the portions were generous.

I always love coming to this place. The food tastes absolutely delicious, fresh and authentic! The bulgogi fried are a musttttt try!!!! It tastes bomb! The soup garlic fried chicken and the parmesan fried chicken were also super delicious and crispy. The corndog was also super tasty! Loved the crispy and cheesy combo! The staff are also nice and they have a big space. Although I recommend reservation.

Noticing the seemingly high number of Korean restaurants in Amsterdam, I had to try one. After seeing the other reviews, I decided on Hongdae and it did not disappoint! I tried the classic boneless fried chicken and it was well balanced between sweet and tangy. I also had the chicken mandu which wasn't bad but tasted very Dutch to me, sort of like bitterballlen was mixed into it. I also had the kimchi, of course, which was good but very mild. For a cocktail, I had the Seoul Mule which was really delightful. For reference, I am from the southwestern part of the US and my mom is from South Korea so I grew up eating very spicy food so I'm sure for local tastes the spice level is fine. I was seated pretty quickly as a solo diner at 19:00 on a Saturday night but if you have 3 or more people, I recommend making a reservation since those folks had to wait. Parties of 2 seemed to get seated pretty quickly as well but I would still make a reservation. The staff were all very friendly and the service was great. It's definitely worth a visit!

One of my Fav restaurants in Ams! Definitely need a reservation. Can be quite busy, however service is super fast! Been there more than once, also price quality reflects the product!

The design of the place is charming and it has a really nice atmosphere. The food is really delicious and authentic. The staff was not nice and unhelpful, they did not explain the dishes properly when we asked and as a result we received several dishes that were very spicy beyond the level we could eat and they were just thrown in the trash. In addition, you should know that there is no option for non-mineral water and they charge a disproportionate price of 3.5 euros for a 250 ml bottle.

Delicious food for a good price. We were in a separate group room with 10 people, very relaxed, but the room itself could use a bit more ambiance, like Korean paintings or something. (I did miss a bit of Korean decor.)

Really nice place with good service

What a nice restaurant! We had a little bit of everything and shared among us which was what the waiter suggested us to. I can’t remember the names of all the dishes but we had the chicken, dumplings, fried rice, kimchi, french fries etc. We also went for the beer/jinro package who’s was a great combo. We are very happy with our choice of restaurant. The fact that it all summed up to app. 100EUR for the three of us makes it very affordable as well.

Was happily surprised by this place, we tried some things we hadn't ever had before and it tasted amazing, plus the service was great. Even the price was pretty good! Only thing to improve was that the chairs make a lot of noise when moving them, so it was difficult to head each other at times.

Beautiful restaurant with really good food and friendly, professional service. One small downside: it was very crowded, and the noise level was quite high, making conversation difficult at times. Reserving a table in the evening is highly recommended; it's very easy to book online. PS: Going to the restroom is an "experience" 😉

Friend made a booking for a group of 8. The team was friendly, service was great and food was even better. I had ordered the ginger tea, Japchae, seafood pajeon and shared the soy garlic chicken with 2 other people. We got the largest size and it was sufficient.

It's not bad, but it's a bit pricey. The taste is just okay. It doesn't taste exactly like Korean food, but it's a bit sweet. I don't expect much Korean food in a foreign country anyway, so it's okay.

We had a delicious meal at Hongdae. We tried several appetizers and the main course. The crispy chicken was delicious, highly recommended! Friendly staff and a cozy place to eat.

We were there today and the food was delicious. The service was friendly, but there were some difficulties understanding the music because it was a bit loud (but fine for conversation at the table). The only drawback is the restrooms; I had a lot of trouble getting in because they're extremely small. I think a stocky person, a very tall person, or someone with walking difficulties might not even be able to get in at all.

Outstanding Korean street food place, to be honest we were lucky as soon after we were sat down a queue started to form. Service was fast and the food was outstanding, we shared the kimbap sushi and the 8 piece fried chicken, which was all perfect. The chicken was especially amazing, crunchy, sticky and spicy, along with being absolutely perfectly cooked. Saw so many other dishes coming out and would have been happy if any of them had come to our table.

I would give it 3.5. The waiting line was not very friendly at first, and the principle was very strong, so if there are more people, it is recommended to make a reservation. The seaweed rice rolls were just average, the taste of the fried rice cakes was also average, and the fried chicken tasted okay, but the batter was too thick and looked big.

I ate there with a friend. We took the fried chicken with the classic sauce, the japchae and the kimchi pancake. All the food was reeeally reeeaally delicious ! For the desert we took the strawberry and cheesecake bingsu. It was not really good, it was tasteless. The service was really good and the staff very nice. Would recommend it 100% !

Highly recommended for good Korean Fried chicken!! The chicken was so crunchy and tasty, I can dream about it. We also had the bulgogi kimbap and sweet potato fries which were also very tasty. The service was great and the atmosphere was very cozy all in all a nice dinner experience.

We cruised past a lot of menu boards on the street before choosing to eat here. One of our favourite restaurants back home in Canada is a Korean Chicken place, plus we spent 3 days in Seoul last fall and so it was an easy decision to check this place out. Our food arrived quickly and the server recommended the new beer they were carrying for Amsterdam’s 750th. The glasses are only 250ml which is smaller than we’re used to and expecting for beer, but it was really good. The boneless chicken (smaller size) came with a small salad and pickled radish. It was ample for two people when combined with corn cheese, more pickled radishes, and chicken dumplings. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal!

Me and my family’s favourite Korean restaurant in Amsterdam. Always love coming back for their delicious Korean friend chicken, the cheesy corn, corn dogs & of course bibimbap. All the staffs are very friendly and always squeeze us in even without a booking, but of course I recommend you to book/call the store beforehand. ♥️♥️♥️

If you are really hungry for Korean food, I recommend coming here instead of anywhere else. The chicken was less spicy and sweeter, but the quality was good. The kimchi fried rice was the same as the PC room kimchi fried rice. I didn't know I would see the ginseng spoon here, but I was happy. Have a good time~

We were the first in an empty restaurant at 4 p.m. When we indicated that we would like to eat something, it was briefly emphasized that we wanted to eat without a reservation. This was allowed until half past six. We would definitely achieve that. The card was without pictures and in English. I had to look everything up. A lot of it was with beef, which I don't eat. It was a bit difficult to choose, but the food was still very tasty. The price is quite on the high side, but it is worth it.

Absolutely love this place! Didn’t have reservation on a Friday night and luckily we had to wait only 10-15 min, tho people right after has had to wait at least 25 min. The food was so delicious, affordable and we will definitely be back for more!

Good food, abundant dishes: rice with melted cheese, egg, kimchi and seaweed recommended around €17, boneless fried chicken (300g, around 6 fried pieces, not a small portion) with very good spicy sweet green sauce, around €16. Very delicate steamed ravioli around €8. Water is always €8 per bottle. Recommended but not as phantasmagorical as I had read.

One of the best places I discovered in Amsterdam. Amazing corndog and japchae and steamed mandu. Korean fried chicken is perfect, not too heavy, not too saucy. If you share plates get the 450g, if you are hungry/eating by yourself get the 350g. Portions are great and perfect to share. Service is lovely and warm and it is possible to come without a reservation, however you might need to wait in line for a bit. Totally worth it tho.

One of the best asian food I’ve ever had! Definitely recommend the Bulgogi loaded fries soo delicious and so filling. On Friday night we waited in queue but it was worth it, you can do reservation. People working there are amazing, very friendly. Definitely will come back. Thank you

Superb dining experience with excellent service. We took several dishes to be able to discover this cuisine. And the result turns out to be conclusive; the tastes and what's more the quantities are more than correct! I highly recommend.

I recently had dinner here with my family for my birthday and it was super delicious! Lots of flavor, nice layout and we sat by the window so had a nice view. They also have all flavors of Soju, which is very difficult to find in the Netherlands. Fried chicken is highly recommended! I had wanted to try a Korean corn/cheese dog for a long time and I was very excited! Would definitely come back :). The toilet is very small and not comfortable, but that is the only downside for me. Easy to reach too.

For the Boneless Wings, there was the option without sauce and with sauce for €5 more. I ordered the version with sauce. It came without sauce but with a bunch of spice powder. When I asked where my sauce was, I was told it was "powdered" sauce... It was a shame it was a bit dry and a bit of powder for €5, well...

Booked online in advance as we were a group of 6, we arrived a few minutes early and the staff greeted us kindly and our table was ready. The service throughout the meal was phenomenal and the staff were so attentive and kind. I had the soy garlic Korean fried chicken and the corndog - both of which were amazing. The food arrived within minutes of ordering and the portion sizes were great, we all left very full!! Highly reccomend visiting Hongdae in Amsterdam and prebooking online to make sure you get a table!
