SOJU Bar in Oude Pijp

The food was okay, but service less so. My sister got a mocktail, really excited, but it had no fizz. I asked the staff if we could replace it as she wants to eat her chicken with a fizzy drink (and also it is expensive). She said she’d asked the bar when she came back. She told me it was not possible to change the recipe.?? Which is not what I asked I asked whether or not we could get what we ordered basically - a fizzy drink (it has 7Up in it??) This honestly ruined the whole experience for me because replacing a drink is really not that big of a deal. I also work at HORECA, I know it doesn’t cost much or takes much effort. Very disappointed, low-key wanted to leave after that.

I went to this restaurant with a friend on a Saturday. We were excited and looking forward to it, yet we left disappointed. We had ordered a Spicy sweet fried chicken and the other cheese fried chicken. The name says fried, but there was nothing fried about it. As we ate, it became harder to finish. First, the Spicy sweet fried chicken was too sweet, in a way that you couldn't even taste the spice. Second, the portions were also a bit soggy. Finally, the fruity rainbow bingsu was a bit too sweet for the average customer. If you have a serious sweet tooth, then this is definitely for you! All in all, the atmosphere was nice and pleasant... but the food was disappointing.

Always been a fan for the past few years, but the last 2 orders have been off somehow. Did you change the recipe? In any case the OG chicken was more doughy than crispy, without any sauce is somehow spicy now, so our toddler couldn’t eat it. The Garlic soy used to be a glorious dark coating, now it seems like it was lightly brushed a few minutes before leaving the kitchen. Will try the new Amstelveen one to see if it matches the old taste, but this location is sadly now out of the running.

Kids friendly, delicious food, very nice prices. please try the Bengsu that is an amazing icecream seeet enough to comfort you and makes you relax !!! Love it

Sweet and Spicy chicken and Beef Bulgogi Kimbap were both delicious. Apple mango soju was so tasty we had to get a second one! The Korean Screwdriver was a nice start. They know how to fry that chicken 🤤

The Korean food here is incredibly tasty, easily rivaling what you would find back in Asia! You can heat some Korean from nearby customers- even Korean visit here. The service was absolutely impeccable . Our waiter, Thu, provided outstanding service, and the manager was also very warm and friendly. I definitely recommend this place to anyone craving authentic Korean fried chicken and Soju. It is also highly family-friendly; kids will absolutely love the fried chicken and the rice rolls (kimbap). Yap, the evil level ice cream bawl is also served here. We will certainly be back!

Had a really nice time at Sojubar in Amsterdam! The food was amazing, portions were great, and the seating was super comfortable. The staff were really friendly, and the whole place had such a chill vibe. Would definitely go back!

Very nice staff and the food was quickly ready. Probably a bit too quickly as we were disappointed by the quality of it. Chicken and dumplings didn’t taste fresh, wasn’t crispy at all, soaked in oil. Wouldn’t come back.

I just love Soju Bar. It’s the best Korean fried chicken I’ve ever had in my life — hands down!! Whenever I have friends visiting Amsterdam, I make sure to bring them here to try it. The garlic soy flavour is my favorite, but honestly, they are all delicious. Last night, I came here with my family (a big group of 7) and we had fast and friendly service from Thu 🫶🏼 Besides the great service, the food, the vibes, the decor, everything is just wonderful here! I do recommend making a reservation in advance because it definitely gets packed on the weekends/in the evenings around dinner time.

I had lower expectations because it's a chain, but I thought it was really amazing! The chicken was exactly perfect and the gimbap was also really amazing.

My visit to the restaurant was excellent. The reservation process was very simple and fast, which made the experience smooth from the beginning. The staff were friendly and welcoming, especially Chloe — she was exceptionally kind, polite, and very attentive to us throughout our visit. The portions were generous, and the food was truly delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant for both its service and quality. I will definitely return, and I highly recommend trying the Korean dishes here. If someone wants to get to know Korean cuisine, this is truly the right place to do so!!!

It was time for some fried chicken and the OG certainly met all the requirements. Juicy and crunchy. A place to also watch the world go by.

This restaurant is pretty good. Definitely a fun Korean atmosphere. There is a good drink selection, (all of the cocktails can be made as mocktails too, so that is fun). The chicken was juicy and had great flavor. The gimbap was pretty good. The mandu was just okay (but I prefer not fried, and this one was fried). The food was a little pricey, but I'm not surprised being in a highly trafficked tourist area. If you're craving this type of food, go for it! It's pretty good.

I have never tried fried chicken better than honey butter one! The strong taste of honey is something you don't expect and it's so good!

Very nice for a quick Korean dinner. We took the soy & garlic (as seen on the picture) , the honey and the beef dumplings. Favourites were the soy & garlic. The boneless honey were for some reason a bit spicy, not my taste but maybe someone else’s!

Very quick and kind service, awesome drinks! The snow beer was out of this world. Yummy chicken to pair with it as well. Hieu was our server and he made sure we had an awesome evening! Will come back soon

They usually serve nice fried chicken but if you order take away they will secretly give you something else. Let’s have a look at what I ordered today for takeaway: honey butter chicken; and the third photo was also honey butter chicken that was ordered by me 3-4 weeks ago but I ate it in the restaurant. I don’t understand why they look so different. Can the restaurant owner give me a proper answer? Why today I got the small chicken popcorn when I ordered the honey butter chicken? Should I order it “eat inside” next time and then ask you to wrap it so that I can check if you service me the right food? Update: I found that I unexpectedly posted this review in its sister restaurant. Sojubar has 2 restaurants in Amsterdam. I meant for the one near Paradiso. But it’s too late because they have the same owner so I think implement the same policy in 2 restaurants for takeaways.

Went there for a spontaneous lunch and loved it. Servers were super nice. The atmosphere and decoration were really nice!!

Top notch food as always. This time I had the Soju Gangnam style chicken alongside some tteok-kkochi sweet heat with the sausage add-on as well as the kimchi. The chicken was amazing, has the tiniest hint of spiciness and was incredibly juicy. I went for the large portion size and I even though I’m a big eater I barely finished so next time I’ll probably skip the tteok-kkochi. You also get some shredded cabbage as a side to the chicken. The tteok-kkochi was good but I feel like the sausage didn’t add much so I would skip it. I also had the homemade ice tea which was pretty refreshing. It was a bit too hot inside the restaurant for my liking, although there’s a heat wave going on right now. The restaurant had hand fans that customers could use

Really recommend this place. Yuria was really nice and helpful, explained the menu and answered all our questions really well. The food was great. We shared various things. The classic garlic soy fried chicken was delicious. Spicy beef mandu was like great tofu but with beef. And I’m not so experienced with kimchi but really loved that as a side too.

The fried chicken is pretty good. It's a fast-food type of restaurant; the atmosphere is nice but casual. I liked the spicy chicken wings more than the honey butter chicken. I recommend it if you like Korean fried chicken.

Definitely the best chicken in town. Every time it is cooked till perfection and no change in quality. Their go to hell sauce is worth a try. It is a go to for me and my friends with great variety of soju. The only thing which irritates me every-time is their service. You enter and they start the timer for 1.5hrs, even when you are ordering and getting more food and the whole place is empty then also they will make sure you are asked to leave the table and clear the bill at 1.5 hr mark. I know you guys are busy, but whats the point of various branch if this is how regular customers are treated every time. Please make it a bit more friendly staff who can help understand customer and accommodate people. Though their serving time is amazing and super fast so no issues with that but with a group of people 1.5 hrs seems nothing.

Worst Gangnum chicken ever I order via uber eats and it was worst chicken ever extremely hard and chewy and tasteless. Never again.

The food was very nice. The portions are big so take that in account when you order. The staff was helpfull and very kind. It can be busy around diner time but it isn’t very crowded. I would really recommend this place

The food was tasty; I enjoyed the Korean chicken. A medium portion was already filling for me. They also have eating gloves, which is very handy. Furthermore, the restaurant was nicely decorated and had a pleasant atmosphere. The only downside was that it is quite noisy, partly due to the music being played, so that was quite overstimulating. Otherwise, the service was fine; everyone was friendly!

Bryn was the greatest server we ever had. She single handedly made sure everyone in the group had a good time and went out of her way to help us through the menus delicious options.

Excellent Korean fried chicken. They can make anything boneless. Medium size is good enough, I wouldn’t get a large.

Perfect fried chicken spot. We ordered the spiciest soju go to hell, which was super spicy. Thankfully the spicy sauce was on the side. The cilantro lime chicken was great too. We were lucky to find a seat but I’ll suggest making a reservation prior.

I ordered 5 boxes of Korean fried chicken for takeaway and regret spending my money here. The chicken tasted completely different from before. The batter was far too thick, making the chicken soggy instead of crispy. The quality has dropped significantly, which is very disappointing. I hope the restaurant pays attention to this issue and improves its food quality.

I went here a couple of days ago and honestly it was one of the worst service experiences I’ve had. The staff were rude and completely inattentive. No one came to take our order, and when we wanted to pay, we had to go out of our way to find someone. It felt like customers were just being ignored. The most disturbing part was what happened in the restroom. An older male staff member actually followed me in and stood there watching while I was using the toilet, as if I was going to do something wrong. It was extremely uncomfortable and inappropriate. The hand dryer was also broken, and when I accidentally got a bit of water on the floor, he just kept staring at me with a hostile look, like I’d done something terrible. No help, no explanation, just attitude. This place seriously needs to rethink how it treats customers. I left feeling disrespected and uneasy. Definitely not coming back.

Good Korean restaurant in the De Pijp neighborhood at a reasonable price. The portions are very generous and the chicken is delicious. However, the fries were quite basic and unnecessary for me given the size of the chicken portion! Very efficient service

We made a snap decision to try Sojubar because they offer vegetarian options. The Bibimbap with tofu and the Kimbap with tofu did not disappoint. Washed it all down with a Soju Highball. Sorry, we were too hungry to take a picture. 😀

Amazing food on our last night in Amsterdam. We tried the garlic soy and Gangnam flavor chicken and also had the fries and tteok-kkochi. We loved it all. Service was great even though they were really really busy. Big bachelorette party behind us was very loud but they were having fun:) would definitely go back.

Cold and soggy. We ordered two flavours of chicken, fries, dumplings, salad to our hotel. The fries and one order of chicken was freezing cold yet the other chicken was warm? Clearly they can’t time the packing of an order. Additionally we paid extra for spicy mayo which is wasn’t in the order. This was disappointing given how long we waited and the price paid. I would not recommend ordering take out from this place for the above reasons.

I ordered from Uber Eats because I just wanted a night in and did not want to drink alcohol. I ordered an 8 piece Spicy and Sweet chicken. Each drumstick was huge but the chicken is almost fall off the bone tender. I counted 11 pieces instead of the eight I ordered. The side of rice was generous and I could smell the sesame oil that they added. The kimchi was so good and fermented to the point of perfection. I even got two sets of gloves to eat the chicken. All the little touches are appreciated. I wish this place was close to where I live.

You can eat really good Korean chicken there, and making a reservation is great too. I would definitely reserve in advance if you want to eat in the evening.

When I first tried soju chicken I was recovering from a surgery and that was the only thing I wanted, and now I’ve tried it again fully healed with my friend, and it was just as delicious! Very well priced and amazing food 🤩

Lovely food and service! Our waitress made her first somaek and she did so great. She truly made our evening special ☺️🙏 The gloves are super helpful to eat the chicken with, as well. It's crunchy on the outside and soft inside, with great sauces/toppings. We recommend this place!
