The food is good IF YOU ARE LUCKY. I work nearby, so visit the place regularly and what I noticed is that the food quality is different every week. Every time I'm ordering the same food (Chilli fried chicken) and sometimes I get enough sauce, sometimes the cook probably doesn't care(?) and the food comes almost completely dry. I think it is stupid to ask every time upfront "can I please get some sauce" because it should be normal that the food is all in, without the customer to be worried what he gets this time. Who wants to eat a dry Korean chicken?

Great food and super fast service

We visited without realising this is a fast-food Korean spot, so manage your expectations going in. The japchae was overcooked and the meat a bit chewy; the gimbap was decent. For fast food, the prices feel on the high side. We also had trouble paying by card on their online ordering system. When we asked staff beforehand, they didn't mention we could simply pay at the counter, we only found that out after our online payment failed. Not great.

The service is a bit disappointing. In the spicy bulgogi stew, there doesn't seem to be much meat; it looks like there are more glass noodles.

I had the Kimchi Jigae, it was okay. I dont know if it was the spicyness or something else, but I couldnt really enjoy it that much. It was super hot, so I had to eat slowly and the spicyness was alright, but it covered the taste of the kimchi itself. Its a nice little restaurant, the ambiente wasnt so good due to the construction outside and some of the windows were cracked very badly. The staff was very nice.

I wanted to eat Korean cuisine before leaving Amsterdam. I was staying at an hotel in the surroundings and chose this restaurant by pure convenience. Everything went smooth : staff is smiling, they propose a sit and you need to order by yourself using the QR. I took a soup with rice, ready in less than 5 minutes… hot and spicy. Delicious, really delicious food. I recommend the experience!

we ordered the ttekbokki, the main bimbab bowl and kimchi fried rice and two soju. we were blown by the food especially the kimchi fried rice. we also ordered kimchi on the side, superrrr yum 😋 must order. the interior could be great but food wise you are up for a blast ♥️

I had been here before. Good spot in a former coffee house. This is in Amsterdam East. The interior from that is still there. Good menu, extensive with many fine choices. I really love Korean food, so this is the place for you. We both ordered the recommended option. My guest had a vegetarian option and I had the chicken. I had a Korean pear juice with it, and my guest went for the Korean beer. Definitely a place to try something new and certainly not expensive.

A small, beautifully decorated and cozy Korean restaurant. Passing through Amsterdam, we tried it, and let me tell you, the flavors are tantalizing! The dishes are quite spicy, but each one is absolutely delicious. We plan to go back before heading home. The gimbap (Korean rice roll) was a revelation. The portion is very generous, and each flavor is perfectly balanced. Highly recommended. Thank you to the team for the quick service and warm welcome.

I was looking for something light and easy on the stomach and came across this place. Their gimbap turned out to be absolutely out of this world — so fresh and flavorful!

Fine spot for Korean food. The service is decently fast. I ordered the bulgogi japchae and it came in a big portion. Next time I’ll order the spicy version, this has no chili at all.

I always find myself returning to the BAB simply because it is one of the best in town for Korean fried chicken. You cannot go wrong with anything on their menu though I particularly like their classic fried chicken and the gimbap. It’s an amazing recommendation if you want to enjoy an evening out with friends or even loved ones.

A simple eatery with a simple menu. The food was fine, but the chicken had a bit too much sauce, almost like soup. Portions and prices are reasonable by Amsterdam standards.

The atmosphere was great, it was clean, and the service was very friendly, but the food was disappointing. We ordered three dishes: japchae, sweet and sour chicken, and kimchi fried rice. The sweet and sour chicken was okay, but the japchae was so salty it was hard to eat. ㅠㅠ My mouth still hurts when I got home; My Dutch friend who went with me said it was too salty to eat, which made it even more disappointing. I don't think I'll go back, but everything else was great, so I hope they improve the food and make it a hit.

I’ve eaten in the restaurant and ordered online many times. Always delicious. Especially when I don’t know what to get for a quick dinner, I would always choose Bibimbab - big-portion, healthy, flavorful and affordable.

I visited the Oost branch, the interior is way too simple and less interesting in my opinion. Bimbimbap portion is big, OK flavour, nice package of lunch menu. But less meat.. Kimchi soup is spicy enough, but less kimchi in it for such price! The rest is tofu and soup Bulgogi soup contains less meat! Disappointing again. rather quite a lot of noodle and soup instead. For such price it is overpriced in my opinion. Since I am very picky with the food, I will maybe come back only for the bimbimbap, but not for the rest. As I feel not worth the price. Service is good, friendly people

The atmosphere is nice and the service is fast. But I didn't taste anything.

The tteokbokki and fried chicken were just average. The sauce seemed to be taken directly from the jar and mixed in with the rice cakes and fried chicken, so it tasted separately and was not as delicious as I expected. The spicy beef soup was pretty good, though, japchae was also okay.

Small and cosy Korean restaurant. I had dinner here yesterday and ordered the Gimbab (Korean rice roll), which surprised me in the most incredible way. The portion was generous and packed with flavour. I also tried the Korean honey & garlic fried chicken, super tender and creamy, with amazing flavours. A little spicy, but nothing I couldn’t handle. The service was quick and friendly, and I really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. Had a cold Cass beer to go with it, perfect combo!

Really nice place for Korean style fried chicken! Came here for some takeaway, we both ordered a portion of the fried chicken. The Chicken was juicy, the batter perfectly crispy, the sauce was delicious and for the price, we got a lot of chicken. While waiting we saw some of the other dishes they offer come by, They also looked very good, definitely check this place out!

I went with a group of friends, and everyone, young and old, was satisfied with the meal. Since it's a Korean-run place, the food was delicious, and everyone was satisfied with the variety of textures. My friends all said it was delicious, so I was proud of myself. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves Korean food! 🥰 I'll be back again next time❣️

edit: update 2025. they had a lunch set menu and some new dishes (soups)! I ordered the non spicy soup and definitely different from what I normally have in Korea (but it might just be because I've never had the same soup before). The amount of meat was very generous but the soup was quite sweet. edit: came back in july 2022 (after covid), place was pretty much same as before and I believe you can make reservations. Ordered a bibimbap - it was nice but I felt like it wasnt hot enough. great authentic korean food. most were snack type foods (fried chicken, toppokki, kimbap etc.) but they also serve bibimbap and japchae. Food was good but restaurant is a bit small and busy so sometimes there might be a short wait.

Yesterday i did a pickup of sweet chicken, rice and tofu roll and kimchi. Kimchi was not tasty, chilli flakes in excess and no good taste. Tastes only like vinegar. Chicken was good but quantity keeps getting less. Also we found 2 short hair in our rice. Seems like hair of a man. Very disappointing. I paid €40.

So delicious, authentic, and filling! The best Korean food. Highly recommended. Not an over-the-top restaurant, but more of a snack bar atmosphere with folding tables outside. However, it's very family-friendly, and the quality of the food is highly recommended.

It says they are open until 20:30 on Sunday went all the way there to arrive at 20:10 for take away to be told they actually close at 20:00 so be aware.

The crispy chicken is well-seasoned. The bibimbap tastes fresh. Unfortunately, the kimbap is no longer served with sauce (a vinegar dressing?).

The Bibimbap unfortunately was very disappointing. No Kimchi, you have to order that on the side…very bland, and such a small portion of meat! I don’t see the hype, sorry

OK after leaving from the hotel we didn’t realize it was 45 minutes to walk to this place, but it was worth every bit. The food is unbelievable. We ordered the classic fried chicken and I don’t know what the sauce was but the best I’ve ever had.

Best Kimchi Fried Rice I’ve ever had — and I lived in Korea for two years! The heat (spice) is just right, and the addition of bacon (optional) is genius.

Ordered the bibimbab on Uber Eats and the portions were a joke. 80% boiled rice, 18% veggies and 2% meat. Packed into a teeny tiny bowl. The fried chicken was the wrong order and icky sweet. We won't make the mistake of ordering from here again.

We ordered the beef soups. It was okay but I wondered how they made the broth as it tasted like from ready-made powder stock. The proportion of beef meat, mushrooms and noodles could be better (too much noodles plus a bowl of rice, little protein and veggie. It's a carb party). The restaurant space is full of cartons and boxes and whatnot. It looks like they are still in the process of moving in and setting up the business. Messy atmosphere. The staff there were kind. The chef was a kind-hearted lady. I truly appreciate their genuine kindness and personality. Perhaps I visit again and try a different dish next time!

If you can’t finish your food, you need to pack by yourself the food for take away, even the staff not busy , they will just give you box and pack your own food.

With a lot of sadness I take one star off my previous review as the Amsterdam money-grubbing disease has arrived here too. Charging 3.90 for 3.5 pieces of (just ok) kimchi, without free refills, is just so anti-Korean it spoiled my mood completely. The ddukbegi was good but now comes in a smaller bowl, very oily, few veggies, and way more noodles to try and fool you into fullness. What used to leave us with leftovers now juust covered it. At 40 bucks each that's a ripoff. I hope they come back to their senses, but for now I don't feel like going back or recommending it as I did anymore. I'm sad.

I ordered stir-fried rice cakes and classic fried chicken, which I personally think are quite delicious (a little sweet at the end if you eat alone). But the chairs at the bar are not very comfortable to sit on.

Took an age to come despite restaurant being empty and staff feeding themselves during my wait. I was a lone diner, so was particularly annoying. The fried chicken was very dry and stringy, I couldn’t bite through some sections. Felt like it was old or something. Staff very inattentive - infact I’m still sat here with unfinished food on my plate with cutlery in the finished position and they haven’t said anything. Apologised for it being late before they served but that’s it. I hadn’t brought it to their attention it was late but still . Didn’t even top my water up and you couldn’t self fill. Flavours were good though. Kimichi pancake was both soggy and crispy at the same time - not sure if it’s meant to be like that though. Server finally came to me after I got their attention. Told them it wasn’t great. They asked if they could give me a soft drink - they did this when it was first late too bit didn’t say anything about it being compensation. They weren’t that sympathetic either. I declined and left. Probably should have asked for the cost of a drink to be removed from my bill…

Food options are much less than before Only very simple snacks The spicy fried rice cake doesn't taste very good and is hard. The huge seafood pancakes that we used to have are gone. And the menu is not friendly to people who don’t understand Korean. The name of the dish only has the English spelling in Korean but no English explanation. People who don’t understand can’t tell which bibimbap is beef and which is vegetarian (the words used in the explanation of the ingredients under the dish name are still in Korean)

Delicious Korean food. We had the hot Bibimbab and the Korean Fried Chicken. Both were really great. The chicken is highly recommended, the tastiest chicken I have eaten in a long time. It's also nice that they have cans of coke instead of those mini bottles. We regularly come back here because it is great.

The allergy symbols indicated on the card do not correspond to reality. When ordering a gluten free dish, the response was that there were no gluten free options. The waiter said that there was 1 option, by omitting many ingredients in a dish, but he actually does not recommend that. Which means I couldn't eat anything while I was going to eat there with my friends. I asked if they could put something together, but there was no such flexibility. Too bad, because there were many options to incorporate alternatives into the dish, which were on the menu and could certainly be made with a little flexibility. I then wonder how fresh everything is made if gluten is already included in everything...

I had the Korean chicken, the kimchi, gimbap and some beer. The food was extraordinarily good, and the waitress was extraordinarily beautiful. Although of course I was too shy to tell her that.

The food was delicious I went for the chicken and it was the nicest Korean food I've ever had. It wasn't too busy at lunch time but you hsve to queue for dinner it is well worth the wait though.
