I was back at a Japanese restaurant for the first time, but this time in the Netherlands. This restaurant is definitely worth a visit. The food is excellent. The service is very good and relaxed. They're very helpful. I'm vegan, but that wasn't a problem.

Nice big sushi restaurant nearby the trainstation. The food is delicious and the personnel is very friendly, though trained to handle each table very quick in order to clear the table and receive new guests. On a wednesday evening at the end of octobre it was fully booked and giests stoid even outside to wait for a free table. Unfortunately the acoustics was bad. There are a lit of tables and guests and there is no acoustic regulation so it was quite noisy.

I ate here before the Drake concert. The sushi was really delicious and fresh, which was the best part of my visit. The price is a bit high for what you get, but I didn't mind that. It's a great place to eat if you're going to a nearby event, for example. The atmosphere is nice and it's easily accessible. For a quick, delicious sushi experience, this is definitely a good option.

We had a wonderful meal here. We had the Wagyu nigiri (highly recommended!), a platter with three dou nigiris with salmon, tuna, and squid. Then we each had a bento box with sashimi, sushi, and salad, followed by a softshell crab roll. Overall, the food quality was very good, but the tuna sashimi was lower quality than expected, and the softshell crab sushi roll was disappointing because there was very little crab in it. Still, it was very tasty. We could have easily gone for another round or three, which would have brought it to around €100 per person without drinks, and that wasn't the point of our evening here. Still, I highly recommend eating à la carte sushi, as I think the prices are reasonable and comparable to other à la carte sushi restaurants.

The food was good and arrived fairly quickly after ordering. We were early and there weren't many guests yet, so that probably played a role. The service itself was fine, but... I understand that in these kinds of restaurants, they clear your table quickly. Either the customer orders more or they leave, and you can offer them a new one. However, you do this as inconspicuously as possible and don't take dishes that still have food on them. When paying, I noticed that an amount on the menu didn't match the one on the bill. I normally never check a bill, but everything was done via a tablet, so everything was very visible. It caught my attention because it was a dessert, and the order (also via tablet) was still fresh in my mind. I quickly found another dish with a different price. It was always two euros, but still. We'd ordered quite a lot, and I didn't feel like checking every dish and decided to just pay the bill without tipping. When the server asked if everything was correct, I decided to point it out to him. I gave him the chance to make it right. He failed miserably. He tried to convince me that the prices on the menu didn't include VAT. (Note: the prices for the other dishes I quickly checked were the same.) He clearly didn't want to investigate further. Fine, but then your tip is included in the bill.

We ate here before a concert, got a table quickly (no reservations) and were warmly welcomed. The food arrived quickly and was delicious. Inside, it was very crowded and loud (but almost unavoidable, I think). Ordering via the tablet went wrong, and we were double-charged for everything. After several attempts to correct the bill, we realized later that some things had still been incorrectly double-charged. We sent an email afterward and quickly received a refund. I was very pleased that they quickly resolved the issue correctly.

My 8-year-old wanted to use the restroom. He was even willing to pay €2 for it. My child wasn't allowed to use the restroom and was sent to a restaurant across the street that was still closed. On arrival we were sent from pillar to post, took a long time, we had discussed it. When we finally sat down we ordered food. All quite expensive, food was tasty, but not special. Sushi separately with too much wasabi sauce on it. My anniversary gift voucher from colleagues was not accepted, fraud according to staff. No ma'am, that doesn't have to be your fault (but he probably thought it was) Well, there you are with your partner, while you know that your colleagues have simply collected a considerable amount of money. So I paid the bill myself. If I ever reach my 40th anniversary as a healthcare worker, only 15 years, then I would rather not receive a voucher from Itchi-e South-East, because I will never come back here. We liked the desserts the best, although they did have a bitter aftertaste afterwards.

Went to Ichi-E with a group of 11. What a drama. The table was not being monitored, so we had to actively chase after the staff to order a drink. It took a really long time before we got something on the table and after those few sushi we had to wait another 45 minutes. 50 euros per person for a surprise menu with a few pieces of sushi and after a really long wait finally the meat, it turned out that we didn't even get rice with it. We ordered it right away but it only arrived after the meat was gone. The food was really good, but the service was disastrous and the amount was not in proportion to the amount we had to pay. Serving a little rice with it wouldn't have been that much trouble. Too bad, and a missed opportunity.

I come here regularly and am usually very pleased with the food and atmosphere. Unfortunately, this time I had a less pleasant experience with the owner. I ordered a Gin & Tonic, but was only served the gin. It turned out that the tonic had to be ordered separately – that was my mistake. When I heard that the tonic would cost almost €5 extra (on top of the €12 for the gin), I asked if I could have a Martini Bellini instead, which cost €9 on the menu. I was completely okay with the fact that the difference would not be refunded. The employee checked with the owner, who initially approved it. However, the employee came back a short while later to say that the drink could not be exchanged, because there was "liquid on the straw" and the owner suspected that I had drunk from it. That was not the case – I do not drink pure gin, and the glass was still untouched. The owner himself came by to explain this, but kept saying that he suspected that I had drunk from it. Eventually another guest (who had seen it) confirmed that I had not touched the glass. An awkward situation that could have been different, especially given the earlier understanding from the staff. Too bad, because I like coming here - hopefully this was a one-off incident.

I'm not Japanese, but I really like sushi and I tried many restaurants so far. In my opinion, here you can get the best sushi. The quality of the ingredients is sublime and the recipes are more creative than any other place in Amsterdam. The staff also deserves credit, because they are friendly and this is not to be taken for granted. The only reason why I don't eat here weekly is that I can't afford it, but the food is totally worth the money, so I'd rather come here than go somewhere else. It's incredible to have a place like this in Bijlmer to be honest. 100% recommended.

I've been there twice now before a concert. Both times relatively early, when it is not yet packed. The sushi came very quickly and there were enough staff around to assist us both times. The sushi is also very tasty, but really pricey. Today we ended up having to pay almost €140 for just 1.5 hours of dining (2 rounds, no desserts) and 3 soft drinks per person. That feels like a very expensive price tag for short entertainment. Of course, part of that is also our haste, but Ichi-E dares to charge €22-24 for 8 pieces of luxury sushi. Then it will soon catch on. So, do I think it's worth it for a (relatively) quick bite before a concert? Actually not. Next time I'll just get a nasty bag of fries and keep some money in my pocket 🫣 Would I recommend it if you can dine for a long(er) time? Yes, I think so! But make sure you bring a well-filled wallet 💰

Thinking they were part of our menu, we ate them—but it wasn't until we received the bill that we realized the mistake and had to pay for them. In addition, the service was slow and inattentive. When ordering we were passed over while the staff served other tables. Later we wanted to order drinks, but the waitress said "one moment" and didn't return until we had finished eating—by which time drinks were no longer in use. The slow and inconsistent service made the unexpected charges all the more frustrating. One star only for the food itself, because the taste was good—but the experience was disappointing.

Terrible and overpriced sushi. But served fast. We could not finish even half of it, it was so bad, why did they add something sweet inside of a very bland tasteless rice/fish roll?.. The price is not justified. Our bill was 85 euro (!!!!) for 16 yucky rolls, 4 small shrimp skewers, 2 tiny miso soups and 2 cokes. Nuestra camarera era agradable al principio, pero sentí cierta frustración mientras hacíamos preguntas sobre los elementos del menú. Vale la pena señalar que este es principalmente un restaurante de sushi, por lo que las opciones para aquellos que no les gusta el sushi se sintieron algo limitadas. Lamentablemente, el servicio se deterioró desde allí, sintiéndose en general pobre y apresurado. Un pedido de jugo de manzana fue olvidado y solo llegó después de que se lo pedí a tres miembros diferentes del personal. El problema más preocupante ocurrió cuando un camarero trajo comida a nuestra mesa. Admitió que era nuevo y no podía identificar los platos – entonces se hizo evidente que la comida ni siquiera era para nosotros, sino para la mesa de al lado. El restaurante en sí tiene un buen ambiente, aunque el ambiente apurado le restó valor. Tenga en cuenta que la comida se sirve "como lista", lo que significa que nuestro arroz llegó por separado antes de los platos principales. En general, a pesar del comienzo prometedor y la buena comunicación de alergia de antemano, el servicio caótico y, en particular, la mezcla de alimentos potencialmente peligrosos significa que no volvería. Good restaurant with good quality sushi. Very busy, especially when there are events, so reservations are a must. No all-in principle, which in itself is not a problem, but the ordering system is such that it is quite easy to accidentally tap things while scrolling and therefore order. We have received things three times that we did not consciously order, which is a shame. Service friendly and competent. Great location, especially if you are going to an event, it is great to have a bite to eat here first. We were 6 people and 3 people sat on a high sofa without a backrest, which means that it will not be a long, extensive dinner, because sitting is not very comfortable in those places. (this is not the case with all tables) Very full and busy...

The food was tasty, not culinary but manageable. I was given alcohol even though I clearly stated that I did not want this, I could just die. When I pointed this out to the waitress, she was very rude, but another waitress immediately got it for me dissolved.

Heerlijk gegeten bij Ichi-e. Snelle en vriendelijke bediening. De kaart is uitgebreid en daarmee een beetje onoverzichtelijk. Maar de bediening hielp ons daar makkelijk doorgeen. De sushi was erg smakelijk.

Excellent sushi, quick service with an ordering system working with a tablet on each table. Not the most transparent ordering system but it had the advantage you see beforehand what you will get. And you can order extra's quickly without searching for a waiter or waitress.

Ichi-e is located just opposite to the Pathe Bijlmer, very convenient to reach by private or public transport. It's better to go with reservation on weekends. Place was quite busy on the day we visited. Service was very quick and food was nice. Overall good experience.

The food and drink were quite good, but definitely not worth the price (€15 for a mochito seems senseless to me). The restaurant was full and cramped and the service was quite fast.

Good concept for Sushi. You choose and order on a tablet at the table, and then it is brought to you. It's not all you can eat, but the quality is really good. Expensive but high quality. Delicious food.

My visit to this restaurant was a mixed experience. Luckily I had a deep and nice conversation with a friend, otherwise the long wait for our food would have been quite frustrating. We waited no less than 45 minutes for our sushi - even though we politely indicated several times that we had still not received anything. Unfortunately the staff seemed inexperienced as despite our repeated requests we were forgotten each time. That said, when the sushi eventually arrived it was of good quality. The flavors were fresh and well balanced, which somewhat made up for the long wait. Still, it's a shame that the service was so messy, as it detracts from the overall experience. Next time I will choose to order by telephone, so that the food is brought to the table on time. Hopefully this will ensure that the waiting time does not put a damper on an otherwise pleasant evening. Not necessarily recommended, but if you dine here, be prepared for potentially long waits and forgetful service.

What was supposed to be a great sushi experience ended up in a total deception. This place used to be a classic, feel good sushi restaurant. Great fresh, well prepared sushi and rolls in a nice casual atmosphere. We were regular guests, but after this miserable dinner we gave up, never again! The chef has gone, the display of the fish looked horrible, no care in the preparation, no hygiene, sloppy negiri and rolls, depressing atmosphere, total chaos! THE THRILL IS GONE

Years ago, when I lived in Amsterdam, I loved going to Genki. After receiving a voucher through Tripper, we made a reservation at Genki. According to Tripper, reservations were available from 4:00 PM. We made a reservation for 5:00 PM and arrived about 10 minutes before that time. It turned out our reservation hadn't gone through. The employee didn't know anything about Tripper. I asked if he could check with his colleagues, but he initially refused. The employee said we could still eat there, but at the regular price. I explained that we had already paid for the food online. Reluctantly, the manager was called, and we were asked to take a seat. The employee told me they wouldn't open for another 11 minutes. Strange, because Tripper said reservations were available for an hour before that. Fifteen minutes later, the employee arrived and explained that the boss wasn't offering a Tripper promotion. In his words: "He (the boss) tells me to kick you out." The employee indicated that he obviously wouldn't say it that way, but the bottom line was that we had to leave. I asked if he/his boss would confirm this in writing so I could pass it on to Tripper to discuss a refund. This request was ignored. My mother was deeply shocked by this extremely rude and downright hostile attitude and was on the verge of tears. Eventually, the boss was called, and the employee passed the phone to me. The comment about "throwing me out" was downplayed, and when I explained that this attitude was simply unacceptable, we were finally offered to take the vouchers. Reluctantly, but with little choice given the rain and lack of time, we agreed. It was a very uncomfortable situation in which the employee (however well-intentioned) didn't act decisively, and Genki's internal communication and administration were inadequate. You can't sell vouchers online and then shame the guests who use them and make it so difficult to redeem them. The food was decent. Nothing special and limited selection, but the dishes we did have were tasty. It's a shame our dinner started off so poorly. Ultimately, this means this will be our last time at Genki, and we certainly won't recommend this restaurant to our family, friends, or business associates.
