Incredible people incredible atmosphere and the most delightful Italian authentic meals at a remarkable price. I love these people and I love that you can see all of Amsterdam from up here. No wonder it’s a Hit with the locals

Definitely one of the best places in Amsterdam to eat real Italian food in a very intimate setting. We went to celebrate New Year's Eve, we took the tasting menu which was spectacular. A couple of people have replaced one of the fixed plates for another without problems. Impeccable service, excellent food quality, incredible range of wines and fairly honest prices. Definitely worth visiting!

Come during the New Year's meal. 4-course meal. Very good food Very pleasant service Nice place. Only small downside: Arrival at 7:30 p.m. At 10 p.m., we were kicked out because other people were waiting to eat (a shame because we would have had a coffee and finished our glass of wine in peace). However, we could really recommend this place!

I think my expectation was too high..I tried the steak with truffle on the top, but I barely tasted the truffle, no scent. So I felt it was just a salted tender beef steak with no sauce, just a bit of spinach, nothing more than that compared to the price. Would’ve been great if there was at least a side such as potatoes. For that moment I completely forgot I was at an Italian restaurant, means a bit disappointed. Appetiser octopus was good, great atmosphere. But wouldn’t want to go back next time.

Online zoekend naar een nieuw eetadres kwamen we uit bij Incanto. Discreet verstopt aan de Amstel, dus geen massatoerisme over de vloer. Klein en knus restaurant met mooi uitzicht over het Muntplein en Rokin. De medewerkers zijn vriendelijk en efficiënt. Geen te uitgebreide menukaart met mooie gerechten, goed klaargemaakt en gepresenteerd. Uitgebreide wijnkaart met diverse prijsklassen. Wij hebben genoten van onze avond. Incanto staat nu met stip in ons adresboek.

This restaurant, right in the tourist heart of Amsterdam, turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The location, on the first floor, offers beautiful views all around. The food was delicious. What really stood out was the service: attentive and friendly, everyone kept an eye on all the tables and helped each other. If there’s one restaurant you visit while in Amsterdam make sure it’s this one! Me and my partner decided to end our trip in Amsterdam with dinner here. And let me tell you it did not disappoint! We both got the 4 course menu but I got the vegetarian option so we got to try so much. I really recommend doing the 4 courses. My boyfriend had one course he didn’t love as much but they got him something else without him even having to ask and free of charge. Their service is on another level as we were always being waited on and they even had a sommelier to recommend us the most delicious wine to pair with our food! This was the best meal I have ever had by FAR and the service was even better!

We experienced it on our last day in Amsterdam. It was truly a great gastronomic experience. Everything was perfect, including starters and main courses. I especially recommend you to try tuna tartare, veal cheek and spaghetti.

Found by chance while walking in the streets of the city. Sophisticated menu of fresh and seasonal products. The young, friendly, helpful and above all true Italian staff immediately welcomed us (even though we hadn't booked) and made us feel immediately at ease. We chose to rely on the kitchen and its menu of the day consisting of 4 courses (very refined and balanced). We were there at 10 p.m., but the kitchen was already closed. Please also write that the opening time is until 10 p.m. and not until midnight. Otherwise you'll walk here unnecessarily. As an alternative, a separate kitchen opening time can also be stored on Maps. But it doesn't make any sense.

We had an amazing evening, choosing the 4-course chef’s menu, and it was absolutely delicious! Every dish was packed with flavor and creativity. The team was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. This place is definitely a must-visit, and we will absolutely be coming back!

The manager is a really uneducated person, he was trying to make a reservation (which was available), when he came out and shouted that he couldn't sit down and wait. A real shame.

Nuestro grupo de cuatro eligió este restaurante porque estaba situado muy cerca del Hotel D'LEurope. Nuestro servidor italiano era encantador. La comida... no tanto. Pedimos un tipo de aperitivo ricotta / cannoli para nuestra mesa. Se recomendó conseguir dos ya que eran porciones pequeñas. Era bastante caro a 18 euros por pedido y promedio, en el mejor de los casos. No había ninguna oferta de ensaladas en el menú, que me pareció extraño para un restaurante italiano. Todos teníamos pastas que eran inmemorables. Las ofertas de vino eran muy agradables. En general, no es un lugar al que volvería.

La comida italiana es nuestra favorita y este lugar no nos decepcionó. Estábamos con un grupo con un menú fijo y disfrutamos de cada curso que se sirvió. Los platos de cerámica que utilizan también son hermosos. El personal era muy servicial y divertido. Solo una nota que el restaurante está a un vuelo de la calle.

The hours are listed as closing at 12am on Tuesday. I showed up at 10:45pm and it was already closed.

Delicious food, friendly staff. We were sitting among the Italians so I think that says it all. The cacio e pepe was perfectly traditionally prepared and very tasty.

Four of us had dinner in this restaurant with a magnificent view of the canal. The dishes were all very good, but the prices, even considering the city average, we found them slightly excessive. What we liked least was the service: although some waiters were very friendly, others offered a very cold although courteous service, and some were even annoyed and slightly rude. I think that considering quality-price and service, there are better options in the city

My husband and I first came here 10+ yrs ago and had a wonderful experience on one of our first dates. The location overlooks the beautiful Amstel River, and despite being in the Center, is tucked away in a refurbished traditional Dutch building, and is so gezellig. We've since come back twice over 10 years, and, unfortunately, the food has gotten progressively worse. The descriptions in the menu hold the promise of authentic flavor combinations but the preparations leave much to be desired - the seasoning is consistently over or under, the sauces were too dry with high salinity, and they also lacked depth and complexity to our palettes. We ordered the gnocchi, octopus, and duck. The gnocchi was the best of the three, but not by leaps and bounds. There is a place in the restaurant world for mediocre Italian fare, but their price points do not match the quality of the dishes. The one bright spot in the evening was the wine - both the sommelier and the wine were incredible and memorable. We're grateful for the excellent service, but won't be returning.

We had been here before and enjoyed it better with a more private table away from the busy center. It is an old place where you climb steep stairs to get to it. From the window is a pretty view of the hotel L’ Europe. This time it was too hot (no air conditioning). The host was in an awful mood and yelled at one of the waiters several times. The waiters kept changing so did not remember about food allergies until either the host or we explained again. The food was average. My son had the risotto which he enjoyed. I had the gluten free pasta with lamb. It is an expensive but average meal.

Really good food menu, welcoming and attentive staff members, and cozy vibe. The octopus dish and lobster gnocchi were great. The desserts are very pretty, but not as good as they look. I'd recommend ordering multiple food menus and skipping dessert.

My friend and I had a four-course dinner, and although the portions might look small at first, we were absolutely full by the end. Everything was absolutely delicious!

The food was great, service was friendly, location was very nice. The sommelier chose a very nice red wine - we ordered a bottle. We had 4 course dinner with chef selection. First course was this mackerel - tasty! Second - risotto with beetroot sauce -- not a fan of risotto, but it was cooked to perfection the texture and the taste was okay Third - beefsteak ( we called it bifstuk) with truffle -- meat was cooked perfectly pink, not too rare - taste was great Fourth - Dessert - we had cheese plates and panakota plate -- the panakota was soooo delish!!!! Price was okay. Much as i want to give 5 stars, I was not admonished by the food, except the dessert which was so amazing. I think we got what we expected, tho we are waiting for a surprise !!!

Nice venue in center city of Amsterdam with attentive service staff. The food, while pretending to be somewhat unique and avante gard, didn't work for me. A deconstructed dish with cannolo stuffed with a totally bland buffalo mozzarella with a side of tomato just doesn't work. While it is pretty to look at, the tastes just were not there. Followed by other dishes that were fine, but not exceptional. Lastly, and always speculative, believe I got food poisoning from the Italian cheeses at the end; one was especially funky. Only thing I ate different from my wife. By 5 am, I was suffering and it lasted for 24 hours. Having had food poisoning previously, I'm fairly sure. Always puts a damper on what could have been an acceptable meal.

Fabulous service and food. Refined Italian cuisine. Modern but cosy atmosphere. It has a good wine list, including options by the glass.

A great spot to get a meal. It's a full 4 course experience. Don't expect to fill up necessarily, but you will be impressed with what comes out for you. Service was incredible, they were almost too attentive because the entire staff checks on you. Some beautiful views over the canals as well.

I’ve had the pleasure of dining at many Italian restaurants worldwide, but Incanto stands out as truly exceptional. Nestled along the picturesque Amstel canal, its location is simply stunning. Despite being Dutch, the owner has mastered the art of Italian cuisine, delivering flavors that transport you straight to Italy. The food and service are outstanding, with each dish meticulously prepared and beautifully presented. A highlight for me was the unique sea bass and Baklava dish, which ranks among the top 5 dishes I’ve ever tasted. Incanto is a must-visit for any Italian food enthusiast!

I was their guest for dinner and I enjoyed it so much that I also returned for lunch. What can I say: excellent food and refined cuisine but their real added value is the team! Incanto is a gem in the heart of Amsterdam! An absolutely amazing Italian dining experience in a cozy, inviting space with great views. Everything we ordered was delicious. The first course of gnocchi with lobster, followed by the pork belly entree, were outstanding. The wine list is impressive, and finding several options of Valpolicella from Le Ragose was one of the highlights of the evening. The service was impeccable and if you are lucky enough to secure a table here, it will be one of your best memories of your time in this vibrant city!

I can share my experience by saying that the food is good, but it is excessively scarce, the service is slow (they take time to serve), and added that if you are a tourist (the majority) they try to put things in the bill to charge you more, it seems to me It's stupid and very sad, I certainly wouldn't return nor will I recommend it. It's not a mistake, trying to deceive you.

If you are in Amsterdam and want to try this restaurant, do it, it's worth it without the slightest doubt. Excellent quality menu in Italian. Dining room staff speaks Italian. Few proposals but as they say "few but good". I recommend a fixed menu with two options to choose from. Dinner for 4 Two menus from €55.00 (2 starters 2 first courses 2 second courses 2 desserts) total €110.00 Plus Two starters Two first courses 6 waters Total 228.00 It's worth it all. Compliments to the chef and all the staff. The only negative note is that if you want to have dinner at 8-8.30pm you have to book at least one day in advance otherwise you risk having a shift at 9.30pm. But this matters relatively if you are on holiday. 4 stars for the environment only because the environment is penalized by the vertical development of the place.

I had previously visited this restaurant years ago and it was very wonderful, but unfortunately its level has become low and disappointing in terms of the quality of the food and the poor service and inconvenience caused by loud noises, especially the sounds of the staff as they bang the dishes very loudly.

Service was good, but that’s about it. Food was mediocre, forgettable and overpriced for what you get. Risotto was awful, fish was disappointing (and incredibly salty) and the dessert was also not good. The tuna tartare was ok. Definitely not worth it!

Ate here for the second time and once again the food was excellent. Prepared and served with care and attention. The speed at which the dishes arrived was too high and they were cleared very quickly. That can be a bit more relaxing. Not/less suitable for people with reduced mobility due to steep stairs.

Been visiting regularly for 14 years... never been disappointed !

Food was mediocre at best (bland gnocchi, greasy squid and undercooked beef). Worse yet, lost our reservation and staff was rude entire evening. Place is in a second story attic with little to no ventilation. Save your money, plenty of other options close by.
