La Place in Laren

A LaPlace, as is often the case, not too far from the highway. A nice place to wait for someone. I spent that time with a large cappuccino. It was fine. The staff wasn't overly friendly, but oh well, almost the end of their workday. The atmosphere is nothing special.

Opening hours vary widely, some counters aren't always open. Reasonable food and good pastries at a hefty price. Occasionally, there are nice "social deals."

Not great, tough buns, and the bacon and cheese sandwich is just one slice of cheese and one piece of bacon, which is awful! No choice of sandwiches. Dirty restrooms. And way too expensive.

Cozy and in a beautiful location, friendly staff, and truly the best Quatro Stagione Pizza ever eaten, surprisingly delicious, and the Black Forest cake slice is so gigantic that we shared it between the two of us.

Always a delicious lunch at LA Place.

You have to search for the toppings on the sandwiches; that used to be different. The cappuccino was good. The restroom looked unkempt and dirty. Too bad, I won't go there again.

Delicious, freshly filled focaccia rolls. But: It's a shame how a grumpy young man at the cash register can ruin things. Because of his behavior, the young woman at the coffee machine wasn't exactly the most cheerful either. Hopefully, the young man will understand that he needs to find another job because this isn't the right one.

I like the La Place self-service restaurant chain, you can eat quickly here. It's quite tasty. The choice is large. The price is average. The only thing is that there are not many meat dishes. My favorite is the apple tart with various nuts. If you take salads, the size of the salad plate is evaluated, not the amount of salad. There is a toilet in the room.

The food was delicious, but it was incredibly expensive. The pastries are excellent value for money, but the drinks are definitely not. I find it ridiculous that you have to pay €3.50 for a 500ml PepsiCola. A 1L bottle in the supermarket costs just over €1. And a coffee is around the same price. If you go, I highly recommend the apple ball, a deliciously sweet apple with a delicious puff pastry wrapper.

Delicious sandwiches, nice shop. The checkout staff could be a bit friendlier (I've encountered disinterested staff a few times).

La Place Laren: A latte and a smoothie for €9.35, so you can expect it to be clean and tidy inside... dirty tables, filthy floor, too few staff, and a long wait for your drinks. I say get out, and don't come back.

Uncozy and too expensive, the food was good.

Nice place, right on the heathland. It's busy, but that's understandable on a beautiful Sunday. Dogs are welcome.

The hot chocolate and apple fritters were delicious, but I'm getting so tired of having to have a customer card everywhere, meaning you have to pay with your information, which I don't know what they do with, before you can get a discount. It used to be possible to get a discount without having to leave all your information everywhere.

So much changed, very bad, long lines, quality mwah. Not clean places to sit etc. Will not come again.

Great location, clean and staff were friendly. We biked from Amsterdam and went through the gorgeous heath and found this “place”. Perfect location and the sandwiches and hot chocolate was great and free water especially for cyclists like us!! Yay! What’s not to like?

When I need a quick bite, I always go to La Place. Healthy and delicious food, and almost as fast as fast food. The salad bar remains a favorite!

La Place remains La Place, right? Well, this La Place does have a whipped cream machine and no aerosol can, so that's much better. The only thing that remains a shame about this La Place is the outside door... you walk out with a tray full, and no one comes to hold the door open for you.

It's really expensive, but the food is delicious. The people, if you speak to them properly, are incredibly friendly.

Staff are taking a break at the delivery counter while a line of customers is forming. They're even offended if you approach them to place your order.

Food gets fewer stars. In the past, we used to have a delicious breakfast there. We came to Laren specifically to do that. They had already scaled back after the pandemic, but now there's nothing left. Such a shame.

Food is ok, atmosphere is mediocre

One of the most beautiful à la place restaurants. Located on the outskirts of Laren. Relatively small parking. Very nice and cozy inside. Plenty of space because you can also eat upstairs. The usual fresh à la place selection. Highly recommended.

Don’t understand these reviews! We go 2 times per week. Fresh, healthy food and drinks. Apple pie is 5* as well and the staff are always super friendly. Prices are reasonable

The food is good, but the atmosphere is a bit lacking, but that's what you choose. The service is terrible. We couldn't find anywhere to put our trays. In my opinion, the prices are too high.

Always a good place to have a drink after a walk or bike ride, although it can be busy at the weekend when the weather is good.

Always good - especially in combination with a walk

Plenty of delicious food to choose from, and the prices are reasonable. Plenty of seating inside and on the terrace outside. After a walk across the heath or a bike ride, it's a pleasant place to relax. Parking is available in the parking lot and is free.

It'll be even nicer here if the ashtrays disappear from the patio. Luckily, there wasn't anyone smoking when I was there, but it's inviting, which is outdated these days.

The sandwich I had was tough, but the flavor was good. Their smoothies are delicious, definitely recommended. The atmosphere is what you'd expect from La Place.

Beautiful La Place where you can take a walk on the heath and open fields

We had a delicious meal. Even though we arrived late, they didn't even look us out. How nice.

Open at 8 a.m. and I'm there at 8:15 a.m. Almost everything is empty. No sandwiches or special offers to be found. No smoothie either. Just apple pie and a muffin. I asked for a chocolate muffin (it didn't mention that it also contains banana), and then you discover it after you've already paid and eaten off the top, so you can't return it. Ridiculously expensive for what you get. I'll pass next time.

A beautiful spot next to the heath, where you can enjoy a delicious cup of coffee and a treat. I find the atmosphere inside less inviting than it used to be, but that's a matter of taste. The outdoor terrace is lovely, but unfortunately attracts many smokers, so you don't get much fresh air... The place is a good place, take a page from McDonald's, many Van der Valk terraces, and several smoke-free outdoor terraces where smoking is thankfully now prohibited. Otherwise, it's a great place to be. Four-legged friends are also welcome.

A beautiful location and a lovely LaPlace, very cozy and atmospheric. Since I don't eat fast food, I ordered a small salad, but the salad bar was very limited, and so was the rest, actually, compared to LaPlace Bataviastad. LaPlace Rokin used to have those incredibly extensive salad bars where every conceivable salad was made into a salad.

The tuna focaccia with onion and tomato is good, and the ham sandwich, hamburger, and fries are excellent. A staff member said they didn't have enough mint tea, and it was replenished with ginger. The prices are not bad for a self-service restaurant. What really bothers me are the filthy restrooms, where there's a terrible amount of mold around the sealant on the sinks. Soap and toilet paper are almost always out. Today, the accessible restroom was out of order. That's really unacceptable. I would create more cozy seating areas with comfortable chairs. The location by the heath is great. The dog water bowls could be changed more often.

I ordered a piece of cake and coffee for my birthday. Unfortunately, the tables were dirty, and the trays and dishes were scattered about. A missed opportunity; it seems like a small effort to keep an eye on that! The restrooms could also use a bit more attention...

If you order a chicken burger for €8.95 as stated on the menu, you can't order it... only a chicken burger for 10.45... what is the difference sir between a chicken burger and a chicken burger? The herbs. Was the answer. Why don't you change this on the digital board? I can't do this, the head office does it... the burger is as big as a macaron... and then your child also complains that the chicken is tough... What a scam... not used to from la place... never again... for that price you can get a better burger in KFC 🙃

La Place located on the Westerheide. Lovely terrace, lots of sun, fantastic to settle down after a walk on the heath for a cup of coffee with a cake or another refreshment. The food is as usual from the other La Place restaurants. Ample free parking.

La place does not do gluten free dishes. The only option you have if you can't have gluten are cookies. So skip it if you can't have gluten.

I love the food and snack options at La Place. This place is very cozy and spacious. Plus, the service is always excellent, which keeps me coming back.

The food was fine but the people who work there are as angry and grumpy as can be really unbearable it ruins the atmosphere meat of good fish a bit dry Also I was not allowed to order a dish at first because then they had to make it all over again really ridiculous you also pay way too much for what you get not the La Place standard that I am used to from them!

Sunday morning I tried again: coffee with something nice after a walk on the heath. This time I managed to get a whole piece of banana cake from a dish with only bits of it. The teaspoons were gone, but when I reported that I was told where I had to pick them up myself. Conclusion: The location is nicely situated, but you don't have to go here for the service and the food. It gets a little worse every time.

Unfortunately, the sauce roll was lukewarm the last time and the herbal cream cheese on the rolls is not what it used to be... When I make the same recipe from La Place at home, it is even tastier!! By the way, moderate layer….

Enjoy coming to La Place, always good coffee and the pastries are also delicious. My favorites are of course the apple-nut cake and the fruit sablées😋.

I “liked” it a nice place bad staff super arrogant not once not 3 times but every time I am there they have an unpleasant attitude and statements about me and my family. I was a regular customer now never again do anything to your staff!! It's not just a Google review

Today at 10:00 am helped by a very attentive, friendly, helpful young man behind the coffee bar. There was a small problem with the extra card, but he resolved it very well and made the drinks with a smile. Rarely received such good help in Laren with a lot of positivity, others can learn something from it! This way the coffee tastes a little better.

Delicious, healthy smoothie with banana. Sausage roll was fine.

The interior is rather cold, but when the sun shines there is a lovely terrace. And the food is delicious, great choice!

Self-service, we ate a cake with coffee.

It was packed with only 2 cash registers So long lines with impatient customers. It would be better if there was a separate cash register for coffee only.

Disinterested employees, chatting with each other is more important according to them!

This afternoon we had a lovely walk on the heath with the aim of having lunch at La Place afterwards. We walked in, but oh how very dirty and dingy! Put the tray back and left again, this is really not possible!

Such a nice place, this could be such a nice restaurant, but we were here today and it was very disappointing. Buffet was very cramped and clumsily set up, it was really dirty inside, and the staff didn't feel like it (which was perhaps understandable, because one of the employees was yelled at next to us, very unprofessional). Little to no help with allergies... there was hardly any choice and no understanding. The food was reasonable... as you would expect from La Place. Not great, but fine. In short, not recommended.

La Place Top BUTRRRR for a while now the COFFEE has really become undrinkable BITTER GROSS and expensive… very unfortunate, I thought it was just me a few times, but I met up with business associates again and they started complaining about it one by one...(((the best description was that of Student coffee (coffee that was left on a warming plate for hours) Shame !!! La Place you guys mother JUMBO has much better coffee on offer...okay then just have TEA first which is excellent!!

Food was reasonable, little pulled chicken and lots of oyster mushrooms. Also incredibly expensive. For 2 people incl. Drinks and apple-nut cake + sausage roll, and 2 small salads € 49.50. main course 9.95, drink 4.50, sausage roll 4.95, small salad 4.50.
