By now a very filthy location. The toilets, in particular, are very disgusting.

Lovely "La Place" location with a terrace and ample parking on the edge of a nature reserve. So lots of dog walkers too 😁

Normally I enjoy going to La Place with my children, but today was a low point! I had promised my daughter pizza, so off we went to La Place... There was no pizza left for sale because they were closing early (staff party), only the grill was still open. So I ordered a chicken leg with fries instead! The meat smelled like urine (so it was spoiled) and was pink inside! (Not just a little bit pink) I reported this and I wasn't looked at or spoken to very nicely..... I was only asked if I wanted my money back? (Only for the leg with fries, not the full amount)

Had a nice meal. "Unfortunately," nice weather so busy. Some staff shortages caused a few mistakes with the orders. Additionally, someone was being trained who hadn't quite figured things out yet. Feel sorry for the girl behind the counter who had to work the cash register, supervise, and run the coffee corner.

Oh well, there are worse places.

I had a bad experience today. I was in the mood for hot chocolate. But what I got was milk with so little chocolate flavor and color that it looked more like warm milk. At the checkout, I was told that hot chocolate is always milk chocolate and if I had wanted something different, I should have asked for dark chocolate. (That wasn't on the list, by the way). When I remarked that it might have been better to specify my choice when ordering, it was not well received, and the lady turned away resolutely.

A real gluttony factory, staff don't know what they're doing, but they are nice. Food is mediocre.

Unfortunately, nothing to write home about. Very expensive and there is absolutely no atmosphere in the place. Everything indicates that those who work there feel no connection whatsoever with the company. They are just butcher shops, completely un-customer-oriented, in a prime location.

Mediocre restaurant. The selection is limited. Song requests are not possible. When paying the bill, we encountered a staff member who was likely having an unpleasant experience and took it out on me. They don't know the meaning of the word 'cleaning up' at La Place. On the way to the restroom, there are trays with plates, cups, and other leftovers everywhere. It is not the customers' fault; the conveyor belts on which the trays are placed are not working. Something is clearly going wrong here. Not really a positive experience.

The Kitchen ca not be made from the office. The recepties are horrible! Too bad! There are a lot of employees here, that could do something beter. The tables are dirty, The bowls for soup are dirty. This is Laren, probably The city with the richest people from The Netherlands. Only the smoothies are good. The food is horrible. I've lost the money that could have been sent on something better. Sad...too bad! 😔😔😔

My first time at this branch. Nice location, pleasant decor. Friendly service and I had a delicious tuna sandwich.

It is always quite busy on weekends when the weather is good if you want to go for a drink after a walk or bike trip.

The Laren branch I frequent is not representative of all branches. The food is reasonably good, but the interior is clearly dated. Old furniture, with as much as possible crammed into one space. Not cozy, except for one or two spots. Service is often slow. This is not so much due to the staff, but rather to the staffing levels and the work processes at the checkout. Although increasingly expensive, the food is quite good enough, but everything surrounding it is, in my opinion, in need of a restyling.

Just like old times... a nice lunch, a walk, and then finishing off with apple and nut cake and a caramel latte macchiato!!

Unfortunately, it's not what it used to be. We always used to stop by regularly, but the quality has declined over the last year. Lukewarm cheese rolls, dry sausage rolls, and staff that don't listen well to requests. Brown baguette with ham and butter: I had to tell them they have cups of butter; I only received a baguette that hadn't been cut open, and then two half slices of ham were thrown onto my plate, but not before having to wait for the lady to finish preparing about 10 other sandwiches. The cream cheese is also unfortunately not what it used to be; it's thin, runs off the roll, and soaks into it. Too bad, it was always a nice location, a regular stop for a bike ride. But they've lost us.

The food is good, the seating is fine, but the toilets really need to be a lot cleaner. I've experienced them being dirty a few times in a row now, and this time they were out of toilet paper too. Please do something about it.

Delicious sausage rolls. Coffee fine. So far, a solid pass. Standing in line twice—once to order and pay for coffee, and once to clear the coffee—is definitely a downside. The real letdown is the toilet. What a zoo-like urine smell!

Cozy restaurant located on the outskirts of Laren. We wanted pizza, but that wasn't possible because the pizza oven was broken. So we had a hamburger and a ham hock (plain €11.50). Our first choice was fried potatoes; they were sold out. So we had fries instead (€4.75 for a small bowl, excluding mayonnaise). Bottle of soda €3.75. All in all, quite pricey for what you get, and strange that the stock isn't replenished in a timely manner. But the atmosphere was pleasant and the food tasted fine.

I ordered chicken satay. I got a skewer with tasteless bits of rubber on it. The chicken satay is nicely presented with sauce and chopped chili peppers. I also got fries with it. Paid almost 19 euros for this!

What a disappointment this time. We regularly come here for a cup of coffee or a special offer after a walk on the Bussum-Laren heathland. Show your membership card and enjoy :-) Today, February 20, 2026, after our vacation, we stopped by LaPlace for a latte caramello. At the checkout, the clerk with glasses said: "Tap on Promotions here, log in now..." Log in? I'm a member, aren't I? Show your LaPlace barcode card from Google Wallet. No, sir, I need the QR code. Oh? You need to log in and enter your password. Password? I have your app, the barcode, I can't remember my password... How difficult is LaPlace for its members and customers!!! Well, never mind. We'll have something at home :-) How about a coffee and a piece of eggnog, An? (my partner) Therefore, one star for LaPlace today. What friendly people there to help

I don't really expect service, but the staff is really uninterested and not at all polite. I've been coming here for years, but it's going downhill, and that's understandable with some of the staff.

We love coming here after walking the dogs. It's just a shame it's always so dirty. The tables are never cleared, and outside it looks like a garbage dump, which is a shame. And apparently, a drop of oil on the door hinges is too much trouble.

The food was tasty but the price was quite high unfortunately.

Super cozy. The acoustics inside aren't great when it's crowded, but there's a lenai and a lovely outdoor area where you can sit year-round.

La Place used to be our go-to hangout spot after school. Now La Place has made a new policy that doesn't allow school students to go there anymore. We were unaware of this new policy and had a very bad experience with an angry female worker. She clearly stated that we were only allowed to stay at their restaurant if all of us were paying customers. We were all paying customers that spend an insane amount for basic food for now to be refused only because we are students?! I understand that this cafe has had bad experiences with students but that does not excuse the bad treatment we got from the worker. She was in a very unpleasant mood and made us feel very bitter towards this place. We used to go a minimum of 3 times a month and always buy food there, we will now not be returning or spending money there. We recommend not to go there and face this bad treatment. It was utterly ridiculous as we did not even do anything. It is an abomination that you pay 3.80 euros for a soda. At these prices they should be able to accept students as customers!

This used to be my favorite place to go during a break at school, but not anymore. We got kicked out for buying food, studying silently and not making a mess, just because we are students. We did not know about this new rule, so after all of us bought food we sat down. The female worker that told us to leave was really rude and had prejudices and only told US to go while there were other students as well who were allowed to stay. When we said we were leaving in 5 minutes, she instantly said that we immediatly had to leave. 0 customer service. I pay a lot of money to eat here, but we are not allowed to sit? Insane. Paying customers should not be kicked out! I will NOT be coming back, and I hope others won't either I recommend to hire nicer people and for those who want to eat here prepare to spend your monthly savings and or do NOT go. Also your table is stained

Opening hours vary widely, some counters aren't always open. Reasonable food and good pastries at a hefty price. Occasionally, there are nice "social deals."

A LaPlace, as is often the case, not too far from the highway. A nice place to wait for someone. I spent that time with a large cappuccino. It was fine. The staff wasn't overly friendly, but oh well, almost the end of their workday. The atmosphere is nothing special.

Not great, tough buns, and the bacon and cheese sandwich is just one slice of cheese and one piece of bacon, which is awful! No choice of sandwiches. Dirty restrooms. And way too expensive.

Cozy and in a beautiful location, friendly staff, and truly the best Quatro Stagione Pizza ever eaten, surprisingly delicious, and the Black Forest cake slice is so gigantic that we shared it between the two of us.

You have to search for the toppings on the sandwiches; that used to be different. The cappuccino was good. The restroom looked unkempt and dirty. Too bad, I won't go there again.

Delicious, freshly filled focaccia rolls. But: It's a shame how a grumpy young man at the cash register can ruin things. Because of his behavior, the young woman at the coffee machine wasn't exactly the most cheerful either. Hopefully, the young man will understand that he needs to find another job because this isn't the right one.

Excellent food, very helpful staff, mediocre atmosphere.

The food was delicious, but it was incredibly expensive. The pastries are excellent value for money, but the drinks are definitely not. I find it ridiculous that you have to pay €3.50 for a 500ml PepsiCola. A 1L bottle in the supermarket costs just over €1. And a coffee is around the same price. If you go, I highly recommend the apple ball, a deliciously sweet apple with a delicious puff pastry wrapper.

I like the La Place self-service restaurant chain, you can eat quickly here. It's quite tasty. The choice is large. The price is average. The only thing is that there are not many meat dishes. My favorite is the apple tart with various nuts. If you take salads, the size of the salad plate is evaluated, not the amount of salad. There is a toilet in the room.

Delicious sandwiches, nice shop. The checkout staff could be a bit friendlier (I've encountered disinterested staff a few times).

La Place Laren: A latte and a smoothie for €9.35, so you can expect it to be clean and tidy inside... dirty tables, filthy floor, too few staff, and a long wait for your drinks. I say get out, and don't come back.

Nice place, right on the heathland. It's busy, but that's understandable on a beautiful Sunday. Dogs are welcome.

The hot chocolate and apple fritters were delicious, but I'm getting so tired of having to have a customer card everywhere, meaning you have to pay with your information, which I don't know what they do with, before you can get a discount. It used to be possible to get a discount without having to leave all your information everywhere.

Great location, clean and staff were friendly. We biked from Amsterdam and went through the gorgeous heath and found this “place”. Perfect location and the sandwiches and hot chocolate was great and free water especially for cyclists like us!! Yay! What’s not to like?

When I need a quick bite, I always go to La Place. Healthy and delicious food, and almost as fast as fast food. The salad bar remains a favorite!

La Place remains La Place, right? Well, this La Place does have a whipped cream machine and no aerosol can, so that's much better. The only thing that remains a shame about this La Place is the outside door... you walk out with a tray full, and no one comes to hold the door open for you.

It's really expensive, but the food is delicious. The people, if you speak to them properly, are incredibly friendly.

Food gets fewer stars. In the past, we used to have a delicious breakfast there. We came to Laren specifically to do that. They had already scaled back after the pandemic, but now there's nothing left. Such a shame.

Staff are taking a break at the delivery counter while a line of customers is forming. They're even offended if you approach them to place your order.

One of the most beautiful à la place restaurants. Located on the outskirts of Laren. Relatively small parking. Very nice and cozy inside. Plenty of space because you can also eat upstairs. The usual fresh à la place selection. Highly recommended.

Don’t understand these reviews! We go 2 times per week. Fresh, healthy food and drinks. Apple pie is 5* as well and the staff are always super friendly. Prices are reasonable

The food is good, but the atmosphere is a bit lacking, but that's what you choose. The service is terrible. We couldn't find anywhere to put our trays. In my opinion, the prices are too high.

The staff member clearly wasn't interested. And the iced coffee we ordered had more whipped cream than anything else. It wasn't good.

For lunch, a bit underwhelming. Also, the little rascals, all above age 70, make a ton of noise.

Always good - especially in combination with a walk

Plenty of delicious food to choose from, and the prices are reasonable. Plenty of seating inside and on the terrace outside. After a walk across the heath or a bike ride, it's a pleasant place to relax. Parking is available in the parking lot and is free.

It'll be even nicer here if the ashtrays disappear from the patio. Luckily, there wasn't anyone smoking when I was there, but it's inviting, which is outdated these days.

The sandwich I had was tough, but the flavor was good. Their smoothies are delicious, definitely recommended. The atmosphere is what you'd expect from La Place.

Beautiful La Place where you can take a walk on the heath and open fields

We had a delicious meal. Even though we arrived late, they didn't even look us out. How nice.

A beautiful spot next to the heath, where you can enjoy a delicious cup of coffee and a treat. I find the atmosphere inside less inviting than it used to be, but that's a matter of taste. The outdoor terrace is lovely, but unfortunately attracts many smokers, so you don't get much fresh air... The place is a good place, take a page from McDonald's, many Van der Valk terraces, and several smoke-free outdoor terraces where smoking is thankfully now prohibited. Otherwise, it's a great place to be. Four-legged friends are also welcome.

Open at 8 a.m. and I'm there at 8:15 a.m. Almost everything is empty. No sandwiches or special offers to be found. No smoothie either. Just apple pie and a muffin. I asked for a chocolate muffin (it didn't mention that it also contains banana), and then you discover it after you've already paid and eaten off the top, so you can't return it. Ridiculously expensive for what you get. I'll pass next time.

A beautiful location and a lovely LaPlace, very cozy and atmospheric. Since I don't eat fast food, I ordered a small salad, but the salad bar was very limited, and so was the rest, actually, compared to LaPlace Bataviastad. LaPlace Rokin used to have those incredibly extensive salad bars where every conceivable salad was made into a salad.

The tuna focaccia with onion and tomato is good, and the ham sandwich, hamburger, and fries are excellent. A staff member said they didn't have enough mint tea, and it was replenished with ginger. The prices are not bad for a self-service restaurant. What really bothers me are the filthy restrooms, where there's a terrible amount of mold around the sealant on the sinks. Soap and toilet paper are almost always out. Today, the accessible restroom was out of order. That's really unacceptable. I would create more cozy seating areas with comfortable chairs. The location by the heath is great. The dog water bowls could be changed more often.

I ordered a piece of cake and coffee for my birthday. Unfortunately, the tables were dirty, and the trays and dishes were scattered about. A missed opportunity; it seems like a small effort to keep an eye on that! The restrooms could also use a bit more attention...

If you order a chicken burger for €8.95 as stated on the menu, you can't order it... only a chicken burger for 10.45... what is the difference sir between a chicken burger and a chicken burger? The herbs. Was the answer. Why don't you change this on the digital board? I can't do this, the head office does it... the burger is as big as a macaron... and then your child also complains that the chicken is tough... What a scam... not used to from la place... never again... for that price you can get a better burger in KFC 🙃
