What a fantastic experience at Vis Atelier in Laren! This has undoubtedly become my favorite restaurant. From the moment you walk in, you sense the warm and pleasant atmosphere—stylish, relaxed, and welcoming. The staff is extremely friendly, courteous, and professional. You feel truly welcome, and they work with attention and passion. The service is prompt but never rushed, just as it should be. And then the food… truly delicious. Everything tastes super fresh and is prepared with care. You can taste the quality in every dish. For fish lovers, this is a true gem. Every plate is a feast and perfectly seasoned. In short: a top restaurant with a wonderful atmosphere, fantastic food, and excellent service. I will definitely be back and highly recommend Vis Atelier!

What a warm atmosphere and friendly people! I went there on recommendation, and that was some really useful advice. I started with a shrimp cocktail, served traditionally but with a personal twist. For the main course, I had surf and turf made off the menu—what a taste sensation! Unfortunately, I had no room left for dessert. But since I'm sure I'll be back, I'll save that for future rounds. The Goois decor is chic, atmospheric, and neat, with the interaction and open kitchen—a truly memorable experience. In short, if you're going to eat in Laren, and you can eat anywhere there, but if you want to enjoy yourself, the Vis Atelier is definitely recommended.

Vis Atelier is a lackluster establishment. The main reason for this is that the staff is more focused on themselves (and their families and dogs) than on their guests. Furthermore, you're looking at net curtains, and the temperature is uncomfortably low. The restrooms are even colder. I have to walk to the bar three times to ask for something. No one bothers us. The table next to us (8 people) had to go to the bar to pay. And with those prices... it's truly mind-boggling. Hospitality is a profession, and they don't understand it here. This is too easy money. The dishes are okay, but not exceptional in terms of taste and presentation. It's simply too simple, lacking any creativity. The price-quality ratio is poor. A higher level of service and a better ambiance are also a must. It's a shame, unfortunately, another bad experience.

Delicious food, beautiful restaurant. I had a very nice experience there before, but this time it wasn't so great. The service was a bit chaotic; the wine arrived during the aperitif, making tasting a bit difficult. Getting the bill right was chaotic, to say the least. The bill was incorrect, €50 too low. The second time it was almost right, the third time it worked. The reactions were mediocre (the waiter on the new shift said I wasn't there, I should have paid the first low bill, but it was lower. There was no gesture for our honesty, nothing). Disappointing.

Delicious fish lunch. The salmon was excellent and the eel was buttery soft. It practically melted in your mouth. Great atmosphere on the terrace.

Last weekend we had dinner outside at Vis Atelier in Laren and we really enjoyed it. It started well with a selection of bites as a starter; including eel, oysters, salmon and shrimps to share. Everything was super fresh and beautifully presented. As a main course I chose the sea bass with beurre blanc, and that was a bull's eye: perfectly cooked, with a soft, creamy sauce that was beautifully balanced. The atmosphere outside was relaxed and stylish, and the service friendly and attentive without being pushy. This is one of those places where you can really eat delicious fish, with an eye for quality and detail. An absolute must, I will definitely come back here!

The food was delicious, with good product knowledge and excellent preparation. The staff was also very friendly, all in all, top-notch service. My parents were both vegetarian, and they certainly took that into account, including a vegetarian starter that was a hit with everyone.

Very nice staff, great food and good wine selection. A very big plus is the price and quality ratio. The wine menu got everything, from good mid-level wine to high-end wine. All in all, it's a place that you must visit when you're in Laren.

A gem at the back of an excellent fish shop. Friendly service and very tasty food. The sea bass was cooked just right with crispy skin. A very tasty combination with the scallops, shrimp croquette and asparagus.

Great food; It's amazing what this young chef manages to bring to the table. Surprised every time with new flavor combinations and consistently good quality. The personal, informal atmosphere makes you feel very welcome here and they know how to turn it into a real party. Lunch is not a bycatch! You either do it right or you don't. Operation was difficult. The lunch menu is meager, which cannot be otherwise with 1 man in the kitchen. Salmon on? at the start of lunch. Bubbles can't be found, water forgotten, red wine pops up. The staff had to eat themselves (coffee and sandwiches with one hand in front) faster than the guests, a disadvantage of an open kitchen. Too bad, such a nice concept, do it right or don't do it.

The Vis Atelier in Laren is highly recommended. The service is extremely friendly and fully cooperative. We regularly come here with our children, and the owner always makes them feel welcome. She even gets presents for the kids, so they have something to do while they eat without us having to grab the tablet. A win-win for us as a family. The food is excellent. If there's something you're in the mood for that isn't on the menu (like the time I was craving ceviche), it will be prepared with no effort. My husband, a real wine lover, was very pleased with the extensive and carefully selected wine list. The sommelier knows how to respond perfectly to your preferences and recommend a wine within the desired price range. The interior is luxurious, neat and clean. The regular table is a real tip; lovely to sit on. Although the Vis Atelier falls in the luxury segment and the prices match, the quality of the food is unparalleled in Laren. We have been there a few times now and will definitely return. In short, for an unforgettable culinary experience with excellent service and a great atmosphere, the Vis Atelier is the place to be.

Heerlijke avond gehad! Alle gerechten waren zeer smaakvol en prachtig gepresenteerd. Naast het culinaire genieten voelden we ons thuis door de warme en professionele gastvrijheid. Wat een feest, we komen zeker terug.

Erg kind onvriendelijk, bediening en eigenaresse snauwen je kind af, fles water op de rekening welke we nooit besteld hebben. Wij zijn klaar voor ons was dit de laatste keer.

De recensies hadden ons nieuwsgierig gemaakt. Deze waren -apart- nagenoeg unaniem lovend: nergens een misser...... Dus op eigen onderzoek uit Op basis van één bezoek en maar twee genoten gerechten, kan geen afgewogen oordeel gegeven worden. Dus slechts wat losse opmerkingen: - ontvangst is uitermate vriendelijk, op het amicale af. - restaurant, bar, keuken zien er bijzonder verzorgd uit. - gerechten worden mooi gepresenteerd. - wijnadvies buiten de kaart om is goed (wel bovenkant prijsniveau wijn per glas). - prijs/kwaliteit (gerecht met kreeft) is in te prijzige onbalans en geen culinair succes. Hebben we een dusdanig aangename lunch gehad, dat we terugkomen? Kort: Neen. Ten slotte over de winkel/Marché: Presentatie uitnodigend, prijzen zeker niet. Soepen zonder etiket op bakje is onhandig als je er meerdere koopt Neem een collega in Blaricum als voorbeeld.

Maybe I shouldn't write a review at all, because you actually want to keep such a great place to yourself. If you want to enjoy fantastic dishes with well-combined delicious wines in a warm, casual atmosphere of friendly and knowledgeable people, then you cannot ignore the VIS atelier. If you have such a chef in-house, you have gold in your hands. Really great!

They didn't ask us if we wanted to taste it and it certainly wasn't served, which is a pity because we were the only table inside and outside 2 tables, so all the time you would think..... sole (60 euros) very hard and fried too crispy ..

Vis Atelier is an attractive restaurant in a relaxing location in Laren NH which, as the name suggests, specializes in the most refined fish dishes. The fish is fresh and perfectly prepared to suit the true fish lover who is done with all that copious meat consumption. The staff and especially the host do everything they can to make you happy with very expert advice on choosing a matching wine. Highly recommended and a pearl in 't Gooi for the real fish lover.

We ate delicious tuna, turbot and shrimps with deliciously seasoned vegetables. Top service and nice cool climate on this hot day...! We will definitely come more often.

Exquisite! Becoming a favorite in the area after our very first visit. Friendly service, great atmosphere, and unbelievably good food. Try the bites and one of the many spectacular wines they have to offer.

Geluncht, smaak was prima maar de kreeft was helaas te gaar en rubberig. Die van mijn vriendin ook. We kregen netjes een gratis kopje koffie aangeboden maar toch bleef er enigszins teleurstelling bij ons achter… We proberen het binnenkort nog een keer.

Slechte prijs kwaliteit verhouding. Kleine porties en veel te duur. De Kreeftesoep voor bijna €20 gaat negens over. Er werkt een Engelsman als ober die niet in staat was om de gerechten goed uit te leggen. Wij zijn met honger weggegaan.

What a big surprise in the luxury village of Laren NH : a super fish store & restaurant & wine bar ! From the outside it may look rather plain and 'hidden' ..but it's a hidden seafood gem! For a fish snack / sandwich /bun in the shop and for a night out in the adjacent restaurant. Top notch what a great catch of (my) the day.

Goede setvice. De gastbrouw is zeer vriendelijk. Eten van hoge kwaliteit. Aardappels mochten wat meer op smaak worden gebracht. Verder top. Komen graag weer terug.
