We were there to celebrate my grandmother's birthday, and on the way home, she couldn't stop raving about how delicious her meal had been. The atmosphere in the restaurant is also very cozy, making me feel very welcome. The excellent service is certainly a contributing factor. I've rarely encountered such attentive staff at my table! Ended up here on an early Friday evening while on vacation. My wife & I shared the Parmigiana di melanzane and Pasta flambé. Both were amazing. Our server, Giuseppe, was great. Owner stopped by to talk to us about our trip as well. Great experience! Will be back the next time we're in town.

We were a bit early for dinner, but with a bottle of rosé and bruschetta in the sunshine, it wasn't a bad thing at all. The menu looked promising and certainly didn't disappoint. For starters, we had vitello tonnato and a salad with figs and blue cheese, both beautifully presented and delicious. The salad with figs and blue cheese is especially recommended! Afterward, we enjoyed two types of pasta, which were also perfectly prepared. The pleasant atmosphere on the terrace gave us a real holiday feeling. The restaurant's interior is also beautiful and inviting. We will definitely be back. In short: highly recommended!

Tasty but not great. The tablecloths were decent, but the cutlery was "cheap" and the dishes were non-existent. The atmosphere was reasonable, but there was no music and a very small flower. The lady's service could be more attentive, I think. I recently ate here again, and the quality was noticeably better this time. The portion of spaghetti flambe with truffle was a bit small, unfortunately.

I think they should put a sign on the door saying "friends and family only"! I definitely recommend not going here if you're not familiar with the owner. Otherwise, you'll be ignored, and you could end up waiting a very long time for your order, while the people you know next to you are already getting their second shot of limoncello on the house. It's a shame because the food is excellent, but unfortunately, the most important aspect of Italian culture is missing here.

Unfortunately we had really bad experience… It was a nice and sunny day and the place looked cosy... We find a place to sit but since then everything went wrong.. The service was really slow (to order). And then for get our food we had to wait about an hour… and over all this , my dish (lamb) was totally overcooked and hard . Generally they didn’t consider us and when I call the waitress to explain my disappointment she call the owner but instead of try to listen and understand he just took my plate and he just take it out of the bill …. But the whole feeling was like we were not welcome …. Anyway I definitely don’t recommend this place …

What's particularly striking is the owner's dedication – a true Italian who is visibly proud of his business and shows genuine interest in his guests. The kitchen is also staffed by Italian chefs. We started with carpaccio and bruschetta as appetizers. Pasta flambé with truffle and cod with spinach was our main course. For dessert, we had cheesecake and tiramisu. And a scroppino to finish. We received homemade lemoncello on the house – it was delicious! Also practical: there's ample parking within walking distance, which makes it even easier. In short, a warm, welcoming atmosphere, fantastic food, and top-notch service. We will definitely be back! Unfortunately, I didn't take photos of all the dishes...

Fantastic restaurant! I'm from The Hague myself, but I've been to Laren several times especially for Maximiliano's. Everything is top-notch: - The food is delicious - The wines and cocktails are excellent - The staff is amazing I would recommend everyone to eat here.

Discovered far too late that there is such an amazing restaurant in our neighborhood. Often drove past the beautiful building but did not realize that a "real" Italian restaurant is housed here. In the meantime, our visits can no longer be counted on one hand. The welcome is warm, as it should be in Italian culture. Both inside and outside you sit wonderfully. The service is friendly and skilled. The food is traditional and of high quality. Starters such as the carpaccio of ribeye, vitello and salmon tartare are like you have never tasted before. The fish or the pasta flambé prepared at the table is a must and as a meat lover you will not miss anything. Our children enjoy it here just as much as we do and that is not always a given 😉 From owner and chef to waitresses, they are all great! Ciao!

After a great welcome by an “older” waitress, the first two courses came fairly quickly. Food just tasted good, although everything on the menu is quite expensive. One bruschetta (toast with just some tomatoes) €6 each and an oyster €6.50. Then we saw the waitress leave with a disagreement and then it was drama. We had to wait more than 45 minutes for our main course. No one has been at the table in the meantime to pour wine or replenish water. After asking different members of the staff twice where our food was, no answer. Were just ignored. Without any excuse the main course was brought to the table. Our son wanted the Tiramisu for dessert (we were actually done with it, but hey... anything for your child). The dessert menu arrived quickly, but then it was quiet at the table for another 25 minutes. Our patience had run out and we walked to the bar myself to pay the (quite high) bill. Luckily it was an exact final amount, so you didn't even have to round for a tip. The Italian owner asked if everything (he dared) had been to his liking. Clearly told him about our findings. All that could be said was a meager “sorry”. And a snarl at the rest of his staff that the service had been bad. He could and should have solved this more elegantly. This was once for us but never again. As a new guest you are not taken seriously here, as a regular guest you are clearly treated like a king. Very unfortunate!

Sat on the terrace in the sun at Easter, nice and friendly staff and ordered delicious apple pie with coffee. Wonderful stopover, recommended.

I came here for lunch with my 9 year old daughter while we were passing through. There was no guest in sight at that time and the lady serving indicated that we could choose a table. My daughter opted for a table of 4 with a bench. As soon as we had taken a seat, the owner told us that she did not think it was okay for us to sit at a table of 4 because there was enough room for 2. Even after explaining that my daughter chose this table because she had the chance, it was not handled leniently. It's a bit strange that guests are treated this way, especially since we were the only guests at that time. The food was otherwise fine and the lady serving was friendly and helpful, compliments to her. The owner can still learn something from her regarding hospitality.

Normaal gesproken schrijf ik geen recensies maar vandaag moet dit me toch echt van het hart. Rond half 4 op leuk terrasje in de zon neergestreken. Helaas was de mevrouw van de bediening uitgebreid aan het kletsen met de gast aan het tafeltje naast mij. Na meer dan 10 minuten wachten maakte ze nog geen aanstalten om te vragen wat ik wilde drinken. Het is niet aan mij om naar de bediening te wenken die mij heus wel heeft gezien. Uiteindelijk boos weggelopen. Ze had toen wel meteen aandacht voor de 2 dames die meteen mijn plekje innamen, waarschijnlijk kennissen van haar. Servizio di merda zeggen ze in het Italiaans. Geen aanrader dus.

Terrible experience, expected much more. Upon arrival we were assigned a table, but no one walked with us or gave any further explanation. We ended up having to wait more than half an hour before someone came to take our order. In the meantime, the table next to us had already ordered, received and eaten their starter. The staff only seemed to pay attention to regular guests or people they liked, we were completely ignored, even though we raised our hands several times. Fortunately, the food itself tasted good, but afterwards we wanted the dessert menu. That also took more than 30 minutes before anyone came by. Finally, we had to ask for the bill four times. After another half hour of waiting we got up ourselves, we were done with it. I'll never come back here again.

De inrichting van deze Italiaan is gezellig sober. De bediening is OK. De kaart is prima. De wijnkaart is ook voldoende. Wij kozen verschillende voor en hoofdgerechten die allemaal lekker waren. De uitzondering was de Ossebuco waarvan het vlees wel goed was maar de risotto koud/ lauw. Wij hebben het zo gelaten omdat het dan weer 20 minuten duurt voordat er een nieuw gerecht klaar is . Jammer! Verser was het eten en ook de wijn prima. De sfeer was prima.

What a terrible experience. It started badly on the telephone, where we were treated unfriendly. We had a reservation for 8:30 PM, but waited until 9:15 PM without receiving any service. The staff completely ignored us and seemed completely disinterested. In the end we left without eating. Definitely not recommended if you want a decent night out. I will never come back here again!

A nice looking restaurant, but the food was disappointing for the price. The pasta with burrata had no burrata but a drop of whitish sauce that was supposed to be burrata, the panna cotta contained so much gelatin that it almost became crunchy and the cheesecake was 50% cookie crumbs. Furthermore, I was stuck in the chilly draft all evening because hardly anyone closes the front door behind them. Please put on a good pusher!! For a luxurious looking restaurant, Maximilliano does not live up to expectations.
