Great food quality and service at a reasonable price. We had three starters and two pasta dishes, they are all pretty great. Will definitely recommend to others to try them out.

Authentic Italian Restaurant in Amsterdam-Oost Since Brasserie Lenny, next to our hotel, Chassé Residency, was unfortunately closed that evening, we searched for and found the small Ristorante "Le Due Sicilie," about 750 meters from the hotel. The restaurant is very authentic, the service exceptionally friendly, and the food was excellent. Sharing the appetizer platter between the two of us was absolutely no problem – we've had quite different experiences in other restaurants. The main courses were also very good. With a well-chosen wine pairing and an espresso and a grappino to finish, our dinner was a complete success. A small, authentic Italian restaurant that we would gladly visit again on a future stay in Amsterdam-Oost.

i hate the term hidden gem, but there’s no other way to describe this place. less than a kilometer away from the busy canal front of the amstel, this beautiful little restaurant is tucked away and once inside, it’s like being transported to another world. our waiter was very lovely, and the food was otherworldly. truly delicious, highly worth visiting if you want a romantic date night, business dinner, or just any celebratory or upscale meal.

An absolute hidden gem in Amsterdam Oost! Le Due Sicilie offers a truly authentic taste of Southern Italy. We tried the fresh pasta and the octopus, and both were packed with vibrant, traditional flavors. Paired with a perfectly refreshing Aperol Spritz and their incredible Altamura bread, it was a perfect dinner.

Singaporean here! This absolute gem of a restaurant should not be gate-kept. I first decided on this spot based on the great reviews from here and on TripAdvisor and oh boy am I glad all the reviews were right. Fantastic Italian food and service! So good that I had to patronize it twice in my week-long stay in Amsterdam, with the second time being my birthday dinner. Our waitress gave us great recommendations which we thoroughly enjoyed. Across both visits, I have tried the Napoli Vegetariana, Ziti Spezzati Alla Genovese, Gnocchi Al Pesto Di Pistacchio, Bistecca Del Giorno, Cannolo Siciliano, and Torta Caprese. All the ingredients used were fresh, top-quality and well-prepared. Not to mention also how pleasantly surprised we were when the waitress spoke perfect mandarin to us!

Amazing Italian place with great food and service! My friend recommended this place after discovering this by accident. It’s a great location that is cozy and has good food. The Napoli Vegeteriana is a great starter, with fresh tomatoes and a variety of eggplants cooked in different styles. The ziti is unique to this restaurant and highly recommended by the staff. The gnocchi di pistachio was the highlight for me. The combination of different ingredients really came together for me and it is such a delicious plate of pasta. The service staff was amazing and helpful. They were patient to explain the menu and consistently ensured that we were well taken care of. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an Italian fix in Amsterdam!

I am not an easy customer—I have very high standards when it comes to food. But this place is absolutely amazing. The chef has a truly special touch and does an outstanding job with every dish. Ladies, if you're looking for a guy who knows how to cook, this is definitely the place to go! The service was equally impressive. The staff were incredibly attentive, friendly, and welcoming throughout the evening. The atmosphere is wonderful. We were the loudest table there, yet we felt completely at ease and had a fantastic time. It was an amazing dinner experience, and I would gladly come back.

Although the restaurant was empty, I was not let in. Apparently, we have to reserve a table in advance. Others were let in; this is discrimination based on who you are. Do not go there.

Although they were fully booked they granted me a table this evening. The pasta a ragout was great and the lamb was very well also. I closed off with an extra espresso and limoncello. Everything was great, thanks for the experience!

I've eaten at maybe a hundred Italian restaurants in a dozen countries and La Due Sicilie is as authentic as you'll find outside of Italy, or more specifically outside of Sicily! It's a neighbourhood place, so not fancy, but the pasta tastes all the better for it. Added bonus is that every wine, and I'm talking 20 Italian reds and another 20 Italian whites are available by glass. Worth the trip to Amstel and a no brainer if you're staying in the area.

Average Italian food. Pasta was basic and nothing interesting. Dessert was even more basic but better execution than the pasta. Starters were just too simple. Overall not a fine dine place but a simple food place.

Plus point! - The pasta, both the Scoglio (22 eu) and the Pulpo (18), tasted great and were quite large. - The wine pairing was highly recommended. - Truly Italian (poor lighting, simply decorated) - Very good value for money for the primi. We have enjoyed a very calm and tasty dinner here. The service and staff were so good. Napoli starter plate was amazing with hot fried rice eggplant and cold courgette. I got pasta with sausage and tomato and my wife got back pasta with seafood(mussels, squids, prawns, etc.). We both liked it a lot. Added a small plate of green salad balances the taste. I liked the fresh pasta taste with tomato a lot. I will definitely recommend to my friends as it's easy to visit and prices are okay.

The service is really good and the restaurant feels 'cozy', but I felt that the dishes (black sepia pasta and fennel salad) were mediocre.. Expensive and nothing special 🙁. The octopus as a starter was good!

Came here because of the high review. Went home with an expensive bill and disappointment. Food was not well cooked, very salty or bland. No kids menu, even extra al Dante kids didn’t eat more than 2 bites, feedback to the staff didn’t do anything. Vegetarian appetiser was the only good thing. Would not come back.

The food was surprisingly delicious. I'd never had such delicious Italian food before. Wine is expensive, but I drink beer. The beer selection is very limited, but it was delicious. And half the price of the wine. I'll definitely be back.

Great dishes, generous portions! However, the drinks are overpriced for what you get. The wine, especially the Chardonnay, is overpriced; one glass for €10.

Salads were bland, ziti had no meat, just fat and the pasta was undercooked to the point that it stuck to your teeth. It absolutely does not live up to a 4.7 rating and was by far the worst meal on our 7 day trip to Amsterdam. Even worse, we were bloated and felt terrible after our meal. Do better please.

Small restaurant with good intentions only. There are probably italians in the service, and I can only say their standards are lower than mine. All very nice, but a bit pushing, not really paying attention to the customer and always in a hurry. The food here is REALLY great and I think it shoud not really be needed here. Amazing gem in Amsterdam! Interior is quite simple. Super nice and fast service, pastas are just heavenly (tried tagliatelle gamba pasta and ziti alla genovese) and rich wine choice. Loved every bit!

We enjoyed the dishes here. The service was really good as well. The dishes had lots of great flavors and tasted homemade. They had a wide selection of Italian wines by the glass. We had a really good Gewürztraminer from northern Italian (Trentino-Alto Adige region). I highly recommend this Sicilian gem.

This is a cozy little restaurant with a warm and welcoming vibe. We ordered the shrimp pasta and the lamb chops — both were absolutely incredible. The pasta was perfectly al dente with amazing texture, and the lamb chops were seared to perfection. Highly, highly recommended — truly a gem of a place!

Le Due Sicilie is hands down the best Italian restaurant in Amsterdam. The pasta was outstanding — perfectly cooked and full of authentic flavor. A lovely restaurant where you can enjoy truly delicious Sicilian food in Amsterdam East, and the wine is also wonderful! The English-Italian service is exceptionally friendly. Parking is a nightmare in this neighborhood; public transport is better. We'd love to come back.

We were on our way to Ziggo Dome for a concert, but were too early and hadn't eaten yet. We ended up at the small Italian restaurant Le Due Sicily via Google. We indicated that we only had 45 minutes and the super friendly staff said with a smile that it would be arranged. And we were very surprised. Despite the fact that it was busy, a Ziti Spezzati and a Tagliatelle Gamberi were on the table within fifteen minutes. The first is a delicious pasta with a ragout of buttery tender beef, and the fresh tagliatelle was with delicious prawns and a super tasty pistachio sauce. Great combinations of flavours. This restaurant is a gem that many Amsterdammers don't know about. We saw the most beautiful dishes passing by. And the prices are very modest. Too bad we didn't have more time, but we will definitely go back soon!

The food arrived quickly. But my pasta with vongole (clams) and other ingredients didn't have any clams at all. When I asked, they told me they didn't serve clams. They should have told me that when I ordered. The shrimp wasn't cooked through. My daughter's steak was delicious.

The pasta looks good and the price is quite reasonable. However, the pasta just tastes ok , not spacial, and a bit too greasy.

It was a taste experience and very nice service. Tasty wines. The only improvement may be the acoustics. When people talk loudly it really gets through Something can be done about that.

Spectacular Italian (Sicilian) restaurant, cosy, innovative food, tasty and served with aplomb. Can honestly say it is the best Italian food I have eaten for many years. The owner gave us incredible advice about the food and wines. Not expensive, either!

Lovely neighbourhood spot, the place was packed on a Thursday. The red wines we had were amazing. I would have liked some more vegetarian pasta options (instead only gnocchi was available), but the kitchen made me something special 😊 We’ll be back!

This place, located in Amsterdam Oost, boosts a few but very tasty Italian dishes that feel homemade. Service is swift and welcoming. The only improvement could be interior. At the moment you don’t wish to spend few hours there enjoying a nice wine bottle ; it feels more like a quick bite place , though food has high standard. Shrimp tagliatelle were very very tasty with interesting combination with pistachio, as well as swordfish appetizer. Cannoli filling was not my favorite. Overall , a great place to- interior improvements would really make this place stand out !

A pearl among all the “popular” Amsterdam catering industry. Authentic Italian dishes, made by Italians. You really feel welcome in this Sicilian living room. Definitely recommended.

So much deliciousness. The service here is outstanding. We shared the swordfish appetizer, which was phenomenal, then had a pasta each. My husband had gnocchi which were light delightful fluffy little clouds of wonder. I had a very interesting and yummy nut pesto on my pasta. I thought there was no way I could finish the huge portion of delicious pasta, but it was no problem ;) The salad was also excellent, and the wine was great. Lots by the glass. We will definitely be back. Note that in addition to the menu, there are quite a few delicious sounding daily specials.

Authentic Italian restaurant: Italian dishes (not adapted to local tastes), Italian ingredients and Italian staff. I ordered Sorrento gnocchi and a caprese cake accompanied by a glass of Montepulciano and it was all very good. The plates at the nearby tables also looked good. Very nice, well-kept and welcoming location. Courteous staff. Very pleasant atmosphere. Advised!

Una familia de tres, empezamos con el delicioso Polpo alla Luciana y Parmigiana di Melanzane y continuamos con el delicioso Gnocchi ricotta di bufala e Melanzane y Tagliatelle Gamberi e pistacchio. Terminamos con el bistec de pez espada perfectamente cocido, costilla de ternera - bistec de ojo y rejilla de cordero y coronamos el día con el decadente Cannolo Siciliano. Excelentes ingredientes cocinados en deliciosos platos aptos para un rey. ¡Volveremos seguro!

Honestly, don't really get such a high rating here. The interior is very old and mediocre. The service was horrible, as the staff didn't understand English. We had to ask several time for the main dish, while they were not understanding, why we want the main dish, if we still have the starter. So it took as ages to get our dishes. We ordered the fish (which was not that fresh and not that well prepared). The niokki were fine. No white wines in the menu.
