The place is warm, welcoming and very family-friendly, with real expertise and genuine attention to customers. You can really feel the passion and care behind the food and the service. Disgusting. The meal was awful, the four-cheese pizza had no cheese, the waiter didn't understand anything, brought the wrong dishes, and didn't really speak English, Dutch, or Italian. Besides, the sign says pizzAria, not pizzEria, so they must be sloppy.

Small, cozy restaurant. Very family-friendly. Children welcome. The selection of food and drinks is very good. Our meal was delicious and attractively presented. The waiter, Josef, was a real gem. He speaks many languages: German, English, Dutch, Arabic, Russian, Polish… The restroom was very clean. (I think it has the funniest little sink in the world.) The price was reasonable.

Excellent choice to have a great meal with your family

We visited on the last day of our trip, and the kind elderly lady who served us made us feel so welcome with her warm smile and gentle hospitality. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere, and the pasta and pizza were both excellent. The tiramisu was especially delicious and was the perfect way to end our meal. This was one of the highlights of our trip to Amsterdam. If you have the chance to visit, I highly recommend this restaurant. We'd love to come back someday.

The pasta, pizza, and tiramisu were all incredibly delicious and satisfying, yet not at all heavy, and went down smoothly. I felt like I could eat them forever. The tiramisu was exceptional; I could really taste the bitterness of the coffee and the sweetness of the cream, but it wasn't cloying at all, and the light texture was absolutely delicious.

We stopped here after peide parade. We stopped there for drinks and he said it was fine. One person said they didnt want a dri k and his response was this seat costs money. My friwnd responded to say she would leave and he said no, so fine... we ordered 4 Peronis and 2 Spritzs. Then ordered a margaritas pizza - which seemed like a frozen one not hand made (this is a pizzeria ). Then when he brought the bill he said we need to pay cash as we didnt eat - not telling g us this in the beginning. Lastly we had to go i side to pay and he had a wireless speed point (credit card machine) which he refused to bei g outside to charge our card. This is not a cafe that order and pay at thw cou ter - its a waiter aiervice space. In summary I do t recommend this space, especially on pride day. He shouldn't open if he was not up to it.

Authentic and delicious Italian food. Family run, served by the nicest husband and wife team. Strongly encourage you to get garlic bread - it comes with the best garlic butter ever. A must if you’re visiting Amsterdam.

A hidden gem in Amsterdam. The whole family was down for my sister's wedding the following day, and we had a big (Greek!) group (12 people) looking for somewhere nice to eat. After finding this place, we had no problem booking it, and everything was ready for us when we arrived. The owners were very welcoming and warm when we arrived and throughout. One of my cousins had his birthday, so they kindly lit us a cake we brought and sang (very well!) for him. The food was AMAZING. Everything was authentically Italian. The pasta dishes were perfect, and especially the calzone, which was to die for! You can tell a lot of care goes into delivering top-quality food. Will be recommending on and will definitely come back when we are next in Amsterdam!

Very balanced and flavourful pasta, pizza and risotto. Service was top notch as well!

This felt like an authentic Italian home-cooked meal. The personnel were really warm and welcoming. The lasagna and the pasta amatriciana were full of flavor. The tiramisu was second to none (or as the owner told us; it is the best tiramisu in the world, since his wife made it!) The atmosphere was really cozy and informal and the prices were quite affordable compared to the prices closer to the city center tourist area. There seemed to be some parking spaces just in the front of the restaurant with electric car charging possibility as well.

The food was okay, the restaurant was busy. The service was a bit pushy and focused on upselling. A major drawback, however, and something to be aware of: at the end of our meal, we were offered limoncello/grappa – we assumed, as is customary in Italian restaurants, that it was complimentary. We were then unpleasantly surprised when we were each charged €6.50 for it.

Located in a quiet area, but close to the NEMO museum, Verena is a restaurant with generous portions of Italian food and very friendly service. A simple, peaceful, and pleasant place. Worth a visit.

Food was excellent. The best Italian dishes we had in Amsterdam! The owner and his wife are so friendly. She makes her own Tiramusa and it was the best my wife ever had! We ate here twice on our stay and will definitely eat here again the next time in Amsterdam.

We learnt that the man serving us (we think the owner?) was from Milan, but lived in the Netherlands a long time. Very nice service, I am dutch but the waitress was very patient with my Scottish wife trying to speak dutch when ordering. Food very nice and very quick to come. They accommodated my wife adding something to a dish. Would come again. Sat outside and nice environment.

Food was mediocre except for the Pizza, but the Cannelloni was dry and the pasta bland. The worst was that we had to wait a long time until food was served and the husband of the owner who did not help put together the tables but instead was just mopping around, was very unfriendly. He did not even take the order or served the food but instead just stood at the door and was aggressive towards paying guests. There are better options in Amsterdam. I don't recommend coming here.

Stopped here for a late lunch with my wife and two young children. Everything was wonderful and the owners and staff were so friendly. Definitely a great place to stop with your family. The pizza and pasta were delicious and satisfying (kid-approved) and I even had a chance to try their great salmon. Fully recommend!

We went to this Italian restaurant based on the good reviews and were very disappointed. Of course, food is always a matter of taste. We ordered pizza and pasta. The pizza base was hard and thin like crispbread, the pasta was far from al dente, much too soft, and what we ordered as carbonara was spaghetti a la panna – nothing like a real carbonara. The service was too pushy and, even after we declined dessert, they repeatedly tried to sell us one. All in all, it was the worst restaurant experience we've had in a long time. Very disappointing.

Would not recommend going there. I wanted to pay the regular price of the dish but the waiter just rounded up the price himself even though we didn’t even wanted to give him a tip. We are shocked. This is unacceptable!

We had a very bad experience there and we definitely can’t recommend!! The food tasted like it was bought straight from the supermarket, so super cheap! And also the waiter was super annoyed and rude just because we didn’t order any drinks.. and then afterwards he pushed us to pay quickly and started to clean the table while we were still sitting there. Then other people came and even though other tables around us were free he said he have to stand up and leave… so super bad experience!! Don’t go there!!!

The restaurant has no air conditioning, the food is average, and the prices aren't very reasonable. The waiter was very attentive. We paid 65 Euros for 2 pasta dishes, 1 pizza, and 4 drinks.

I'm not sure why this place gets so many great reviews. The food was just average. We had a tomato soup that was very basic, maybe even out of a can? I make better carbonara, and the pizza was boring. Everyone in there was a tourist. This is not a neighborhood restaurant. Staff was friendly and the tiramisu was really good.

Special mention must go to the extremely friendly and attentive staff, who took wonderful care of us all evening long. We felt incredibly welcome. Owner Paolo (not Rossi) is very involved and hospitable. Moreover, he is proud of the tiramisu that his wife makes herself. The bruschetta tastes delicious, especially with the fresh garlic that really stands out. The pasta and grilled salmon are served well, although it is a shame that there are so many small bones in the salmon. Finally, the double espresso (with homemade tiramisu). The decor/atmosphere is somewhat on the austere side. But okay, the cuisine is more relevant. And the small outdoor terrace is perfectly fine in summer weather. A nice interlude for a day in Amsterdam!

Delicious meal! We went as a couple with a one-year-old and were very well received. The staff were friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. I highly recommend the pasta carbonara; it's a masterpiece.

A slight disappointment at the end of the meal: we asked for the bill and were kindly offered a limoncello or a small grappa, which we gladly accepted. To our surprise, the digestifs we thought were complimentary were on the bill at €6.50 a glass. A shame, as we consider this a misstep.

We were treated like in a very passive aggressive way for ordering 2 pizzas on 4 people (we just stopped for snack) in empty restaurant. The waiter had inappropriate annoying jokes.
