It was honestly…if you want Italian food, this is the place to come.

We made a reservation weel in advance. Upon entry, it was clear the restaurant was understaffed. The sole waiter hardly had time to seat us. After 30 minutes and still no attention, not even water on the table, we decided to leave. The waiter simply said: 'Okay, your choice'. Worst show of hospitality ever experienced and never to go back to.

I don’t know if the owner changed or the chef, but our experience was completely different than we read in the reviews here. Food was not good at all. We had the shrimps for starters, but they were completely overcooked. As main I had pasta with “tenderloin” either it was something else or very cheap meat in either case the whole dish was bland/saltless with cheap ingredients. The pizza we ordered also didn’t taste good and the bottom was soft not crunchy at all. It is really a shame as the place looks really nice and the waiter was very friendly. Very sad at this point I would recommend to go.

We had a charming experience at Bianco Rosso, the place was cozy and elegant and the ambient was really nice. I have to say tho that the food didn’t blow our minds and didn’t really feel like an authentic Italian experience. You can find some americanish dishes like pasta Alfredo or steak pasta; the tiramisu was really nice tho, and so was the pizza and the risotto. Will come back!

We had a top experience at Rosso Bianco yesterday. We went for lunch and ordered pizza, and it was just perfect. The base was thin and crispy, so you don't feel all heavy and sluggish afterwards while you're exploring Amsterdam. I had the Pizza Rosso and it was a yummy vegetarian option that I'd definitely recommend. The music and the general atmosphere created a lekker vibe, making it a good spot for a date with my husband. One thing I really appreciated was the timing. You know how sometimes you go for pizza and it arrives so fast you feel like you're on a conveyor belt? It wasn't like that at all here. The pacing was just right. Overall, the staff really friendly and the service was great. A five-star visit!

While the atmosphere and the service were very good, the food was not. We had a starter, 2 dishes of pasta and we shared them. First of all, the frutti di mare pasta had a lot of Parmesan both in the sauce and on top while cheese was not mentioned in the menu and my partner is lactose intolerant.. In addition, after our dinner we both experienced serious belly annoyance and difficulty in digestion. Note here that I am not intolerant to anything and my stomach is very resistant to any food…

This place has been taken over, and now everything is worse. Terribly bad service! Unfriendly waiter and broken Dutch. The pizza is meager for the price. Not worth the money! I don't recommend it!

Been there a few times already and their food and service is awesome!

Hospitality and service at this restaurant are subpar. Upon entering, every Dutch-speaking guest is yelled at because the waiter doesn't speak Dutch. It doesn't make you feel welcome. Then, it takes a long time for food to come out of the kitchen, and when it does arrive, it's wrong. Only four out of five restaurants were occupied, yet two tables received the wrong dishes, and others waited too long for their food. One guest even waited so long that they simply took their food away. You keep staring at empty glasses; no one comes to ask if you want another drink. At one point, we were even completely alone in the restaurant. Food: bruschetta was unfortunately served on toasted cornbread, and the pastas were okay but nothing more. A disappointing evening.

Update (3rd revision): It seems the owner is trying to discredit my review — a pattern you’ll notice if you read how they respond to anyone giving less than 5 stars. For the record: I visited on July 2 at 20:07 and paid €56 for two pizzas and a beer. I can provide the invoice as proof. Claiming that unhappy guests were never there is dishonest. Even more worrying: many of the 5-star reviews use identical or clearly photoshopped photos, which strongly suggests fake reviews. This feels like a scam operation. Be careful. Update (2nd revision): In response to the owner: I visited 3–4 weeks ago and paid nearly €60 for two people. The pizza tasted like it had been frozen, with a few toppings added on top. That’s not fresh — and definitely not worth €30 per pizza. Rather than threatening customers, try focusing on your food quality. Original review: They serve what seems like frozen pizza with toppings added for €60 for two people — a complete rip-off, even by Amsterdam standards. Poor quality and not worth the money. If you’re in the area, I recommend Bella Storia around the corner — fresh wood oven pizza for almost half the price. Much better quality and service.

I’m a neighbor and was disappointed by how unwelcoming the staff were. I was asked if I was alone, then immediately told the pizza would take 25 minutes after I sat down no greeting, no warmth. I left and won’t be returning.

I advise all Dutch and non-Dutch people, and especially all Italians who want to savor the typical flavors of Italy, to book a table and not miss the opportunity to spend a pleasant evening. Top service, excellent food and the right atmosphere are the perfect mix that made the evening unique, to be repeated. Starting from the professional and always smiling waiters Paola and Daniele who, despite the restaurant being full, were able to manage us customers in the best possible way, satisfying our requests with speed, promptness and attention to detail, not to mention the best part, the food with 100% Italian ingredients. We started with an Italian appetizer, a bruschette mix and an octopus of which I don't remember having ever eaten one so good. The Italian appetizer consisted of a platter with an immensity of delicacies, from the typical aubergine parmigiana to cheeses, continuing with the much-loved cured meats, burrata and grilled vegetables. To then continue with the main course, I personally went for the traditional one, a truly delicious plate of paccheri with lobster, my friends tried a classic fillet with a side of potatoes, sea bass and risotto with prawns, and how could we not miss a "Bella Ciao" pizza to share with a perfectly made dough and a truly particular and unique flavour. Even though we were full we wanted to continue with dessert, it absolutely couldn't be missing 😁😍. We took 4 and decided to share them, from the classic of classics, the tiramisu, continuing with the panna cotta, continuing with the chocolate soufflé (my favorite) and finishing with the Nutella semifreddo. We then finished with an excellent espresso and homemade limoncello, delicious 💯 We will return as soon as possible. Lastly, I really wanted to thank the owners Giorgia and Enzo who made us feel truly at home with their hospitality and kindness. Thanks for the nice experience

Food was great! But service is too slow. It took 30 mins to get 1 pizza and 1 pasta + they charge for tap water (1 euro!) (Prices shown there include a 30% discount from the fork)

Wow. This was SUPER disappointing experience. 60+EUR for 1. Red tuna tatare. It was the worst tuna tatare I had in my life... It was literally old (not fresh at all) tuna with salty salt. It had no taste at all, not to mention the texture. Damn have You ever heard of capers or lemon? 2. Polpo/pulpa/octopus (check the photo) Tiny, Tiny, Tiny portion of octopus... Tapas size. It was OK 5/10. 3. Bottle of water. I give 1* for the service. Waiter was amateur working part time. Brightest point of the lunch.

I had just eaten a lot of local food and wanted a nice Italian risotto. Never has there been a more appropriate choice! Optimal. My wife ate the sea bream and my son the pizza. In addition to the versatility of the Italian dishes and in any case all very good, the staff and owner were praised for their kindness and helpfulness, it felt like being at home! Highly recommended.

Very warm welcome and very good service! We had a pasta with black garlic and another one with a ragout with octopus. The pastas were really good! Also we had a tiramisu for dessert which was enjoyable as well. For drinks I had a proper made Negroni and my girlfriend choose a white wine by the glass (they had a lot of wines by the glass). The team was really passionate and really put their heart in to the place.

Great Italian restaurant! - There is a good variety of food options, between pasta and pizzas. We had the orecchiette and one calzone with mushroom and prosciutto, they were both very tasty and quite abundant with regards to portions. - If you keep in mind the quality of the dishes, I believe that prices are actually slightly lower than an average Italian restaurant! Very affordable dishes overall - Atmosphere inside is lovely, can be very romantic but also informal, suitable for a date or for a more laid back hang out with friends. Really like the design of their interiors and the lighting, I find it very aesthetic! - Location wise is a bit outside the city center, just below westerpark and a bit outside Jordaan, so if you are in the area and look for a good Italian restaurant this is the place! - Staff was all Italian and very helpful and kind! Definitely recommend giving it a shot!

We visited this place on March 1 2025: * The place smelled a bit like a bathroom in the main hall * The food tasted ok, but the portion was too small for the price * On the same day, my partner felt severe stomach pain and nausea after eating Linguine alle Vongole (the one with clams)

Amazing staff and food! Can only recommend it to everyone. The only small feedback is the smell of baby lotion when you come in, but you stop noticing it pretty quickly.

We recently had lunch at Osteria Bella Ciao and the experience was truly pleasant. The focaccia with bottarga and mozzarella foam is simply delicious, a perfect balance of flavours. We chose two first courses: pasta with Genoese sauce, offered on the menu of the day, and orecchiette with Trapani-style pesto. Both dishes were rich in flavor and prepared with quality ingredients. Excellent service with friendly and welcoming staff. A place to return to with pleasure!

Delicious food here! The octopus (starter) is highly recommended! The risotto had a nice taste, but the rice itself was still a bit undercooked. The pizzas were fine. Staff were very attentive and friendly, but upon entering we felt very rushed to order. We had only been sitting for maybe 5-10 minutes and they had already come by three times to ask if we were ready to order. Other than that, it was otherwise fine.

Tonight's experience was fantastic. After doing some research, my girlfriend and I chose to eat at the Osteria Bella Ciao. We started with a Burrata and Octopus. Yummy! Quality of the Burrata exceptional, and the octopus was cooked to perfection and delicious. The first ones we tried were Orecchiette alla Trapanese and Tagliolino al Nero and both tasted really fantastic. Lastly, the three chocolate cake and tiramisu were the icing on a sublime dinner. Beautiful location with large windows and staff with truly pleasant courtesy and attention. Surely when we return to Amsterdam it will be the place we visit first! Thank you with all my heart!

Pretty good restaurant with an interesting menu — definitely worth checking out, though slightly more expensive than average. The pastas we tried had rich flavor and a complex taste, but they were a bit greasy for our liking. The tiramisu was fantastic — they did a great job with adding tiny crunchy bits inside. The cappuccino was well-made with proper foam. Staff was nice, but atmosphere felt a bit lonely - the place is too spacious in my opinion. But that’s a minor thing. If prices were a bit cheaper and pasta less greasy, I would give it 5 stars.

The restaurant offers quality products and dishes with an excellent flavour, with attention to detail. However, the portions are a little smaller than the asking price. The restaurant has good Italian quality food, and everything tastes really good. The only downside is that the portions are a bit small for the price.

The boss ( Spanish Lady I think ) was extremely disrespectful towards me. Im a Uber Eats driver and she acts like im a sub-human. I was just trying to help out and help with a problem. There is nothing wrong with the employees they are fine. But the boss is really disrespectful.
