Beautiful and especially delicious Italian dishes. It's like receiving a gift every time. Each dish is explained about the ingredients and their flavors. Advice on the right Italian wine or beer to pair with each dish. The restaurant is run entirely by Italians, who are very friendly and helpful.

We decided to go for the 5 courses tasting menu. The anti pasti was really good, the dishes were balanced and complex in flavors, bringing something special. Then, the pasta arrived and despite being good, it felt underwhelming compared to the anti pasti. To finish, we had duck beast as a main and it was the most underwhelming dish on the entire menu. So, overall was good food and atmosphere, but the decline with every dish let me feeling like I don't need to come back again, there's little room to be surprised here.

I'd love to give it five stars, because this is a top-notch team with excellent food: fresh, locally sourced, and creatively prepared, fantastic service, and a wonderful atmosphere. And a wonderful wine list. These people know what they're talking about. As a vegetarian, I had a great meal, but I really didn't like the first appetizer. My table companions who ate meat and fish give it five stars without a doubt. So, it just depends on what you're looking for. I'll definitely be back.

I have been this place several times, and LOVE it. Booked this place half a month in advance (with a €30 deposit per person). I heard it’s one of the best Italian restaurants in Amsterdam, and honestly, it really impressed me. Compared to other fine dining spots, this one feels more grounded and genuine. No showy gimmicks — just great food and warm service. Although it was for a birthday meal, it didn’t have the festive vibe of somewhere like The White Room, but I still appreciated the cozy and authentic Italian feel (so many people saying “ciao”! 😂). We ordered the most expensive 7-course “BE ALL” tasting menu, which included both meat and seafood. No wine pairing this time, but we did try two different wines — both were fruity and quite nice. Highlights of the meal: • Main Course 1: Poached codfish with spinach and carrot purée, topped with green romesco sauce — surprisingly tasty. • Main Course 2: Lamb with beetroot jus, paired with artichoke, king oyster mushrooms, and broccoli. Flavorful and well-balanced. • Dessert was a real surprise — Italian sweets never disappoint! It included elderflower sorbet with chocolate mousse and a grape-based sauce, garnished with almond crumbs and fruit. What stood out the most? Even the vegetarian dishes were amazing. As someone who usually prefers meat, I ended up finishing all the veggie courses too. Turns out I don’t dislike vegetables — I just hadn’t had ones this good before! 🥹

We had two ala carte dinners and one 5 course chef's menu. Atmosphere was lovely and service was great (as always). One member of our group did note the bavette was not as tender as previous times. The bread was delicious, the carpaccio of kingfish was lovely (my personal favourite), we enjoyed the coulant of chocolate and the cheese selection. See you again soon!

Our favorite Italian in Amsterdam, great food and service.

In a special street, in a beautiful building, great dishes are cooked here and served at the table by a very nice and enthusiastic team! In addition, a delicious wine from Friuli is drunk. A visit to Pianeta Terra is really recommended!

Excellent. Discovered by chance during our walk in Amsterdam, but perfect. Originality in the implementation and the sequel did not disappoint us. We are facing Italian gastronomy, far from the pizza and pasta stereotypes. The service was friendly and attentive, just what was needed.

The restaurant is beautiful and the service incredible. The only regret we had was asking what all was going to be served that night as two of the diners would have asked for something different for the main course as the don’t like duck; our mistake we would know for the next time.

We enjoyed the buried items that were served to us in our five course meal. Each one was a feast for the eyes and palate. Interesting combinations of food! Although we didn’t understand any of these items to be Italian as far as what we’re used to they were all delicious and interesting. The owner was also our server and checked with this to see how things were and was delightful to converse with at the end of the evening. As a person who doesn’t drink alcohol very often, but always prefers my Diet Coke… I was offered an alternative imported from Italy. It was quite delicious and I wish I could find it easily back home in USA. Thank you for this experience – if we end up in Amsterdam again, we will be back!

We spent 1 evening in this sweet restaurant during our trip to Amsterdam as 2 couples. We chose the 5 course menu. We also drank a wine of our own choosing. Food was delicious. For dessert, we enjoyed the cheesecake and lemon pudding in quiche. I recommend…

What a great restaurant! We had the 4 course menu with wine pairing. For dinner we had a very nice pinot grigio from Slovenia and then all the wines were Italian. Very good service, not too pushy but certainly present and attentive. Dishes were beautifully served and the wines were well chosen. Good vibe in the restaurant, perfect acoustics.

The experience was excellent, from start to finish. The quality of the food exceeded expectations, and to be frank is worth more than the price point. Pamper yourself for a few hours with the 7 courses meal, and enjoy the expertise and storytelling, which comes with a sustainable approach too. Amazingly delicious food and service was exceptional.

We came for dinner after reading the great reviews online. We went for the 7 course menu and chose to be surprised by the dishes. The service was very attentive and informative and the restaurant is very nice inside. The wine was lovely and there was a large selection and we don’t often drink wine either. The food was good and a lot of variety and different tastes, but I would not say that the tastes blew me away, I expected to be more impressed for the price we paid. We also spent 3 hours in the restaurant to get the 7 courses and the bill which felt an excessive amount of time. The portion sizes were particularly small and we left hungrier than we arrived. We don’t often eat at places like this so we may not be typical of people who eat at bespoke restaurants, but we did go to De Kas two days before (a different cuisine) but similar price point, we would much sooner return there than here for the reasons above and more.

Everything was amazing. Special food, lovely people and an amazing spot in the centre of Amsterdam! Because of my Italian partner, i know the Italian kitchen a little but this was really another level. We will come back for sure!

Wonderful evening, great food, Italian family restaurant, yet high level cucina. Bellisima!

We ordered the taster menu with some small, often interesting food portions, accompanied by wine pairings throughout the 4 courses. Our dedicated waiter was attentive and informative but the presentation of the food, when it did arrive (often after lengthy waits) was a bit odd. A moustached, cartoonish character emerged from the shadows (who’d been previously noted as sloshing back the wine) and started pointing, almost touching, the assembled fare, to give us an impromptu, rambling account of the provenance of the ingredients. Really unnecessary. The food in the main was well cooked but the portion size of the spaghetti was mean and the duck course was chewy. All in all far from being the exceptional Italian fare we were expecting. The wine selection however was very appealing.

Unique restaurant, will definitely come back here. Preferably as quickly as possible. Everything was possible, even with the 4 course menu, both with different dishes, nice stories about where the wines came from and why they matched the dishes.

Tonight was undoubtedly the most bizarre and simultaneously worst dining experience of my life! We were seated opposite a large gentleman who was suffering (loudly) from a mucous problem which was disgusting (not the restaurant 's fault). However, when we asked for the menu we were denied. We were asked to select either meat, fish or vegetarian. When we pushed for more detail, we were forced to choose in haste, under the scrutiny of the Maitre D from a range of 5 utterly unappealing dishes with foreign and unfamiliar descriptions. I would have left at this juncture had the restaurant not taken €60 deposit from us when booking. The maitre D' (perhaps owner), was a confrontational 50 something skinhead with a passive aggressive outlook and serious control issues. The restaurant is described as Italian and is highly rated, however, there was nothing "Italian" on the menu and absolutely nothing I would have chosen, had I not been forced. My wife had a large chunk of green plastic in her starter which stuck in her throat. My starter was an utterly bland buffalo mozzarella with an unusual tasting tomato. For the main, I was presented with a fatty chunk of pig neck with inedible purple potatoes. When I explained to the waiter why I hadn't eaten anything, a full-on argument ensued with the maitre D'. It's just utterly pretentious. AVOID!

Highly recommend the wine pairing. I learned a great deal about small producers, wine styles, and interesting combinations of wine and food. Having the opportunity to talk to Chef Fabio after service ended was an added pleasure. I hope to come back when next in Amsterdam.

I recently had an extraordinary culinary experience with some friends at Pianeta Terra, a great Italian restaurant in Amsterdam. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed by a warm smile and a warm greeting from our host Niek, who provided excellent service throughout the evening. A highlight of the evening was meeting Laura, the restaurant's owner and talented sommelier. Her knowledge of wine was second to none, and she took the time to guide us in discovering wines that paired perfectly with the refined dishes we would be tasting. The wines she had selected for us were true gems, which we had heard or knew little about, but were unforgettably beautiful. Chef Fabio, the master behind the scenes, surprised us with a beautifully composed menu. His cooking philosophy, as he describes it, is based on intuition and sensitivity to the raw product, with a touch of modern technology to bring flavors to life. Each dish he created was a true work of art on the plate, with flavors that were subtle yet powerful. The ambiance of the restaurant was also impeccable. The elegant decor and relaxed atmosphere added to the overall charm and conviviality of the evening, making us feel right at home. All in all, my experience at Pianeta Terra was one I will never forget. The passion and dedication of Laura, Fabio and the entire team were evident in every aspect of the evening, from the food and wine to the service and atmosphere. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an unforgettable culinary journey into Italian cuisine.

Mmmmmm! A truly wonderful evening. The sea bass starter made my mouth happy, it was the perfect dish to start a superb meal. My wife admired the sommelier's bracelet and found out that another staff member also made jewelry, she came to our table and had my wife try on a bracelet for size, made a notation and gave us her email. I went to this restaurant last week with my husband and we had a great time! Food is super good and the set up of the restaurant nice and cozy. It is a bit more expensive than other italian restaurant but it is definitely worth the service! Must try :-)

Andiamo a provare questo ristorante italiano, incuriositi dalle recensioni. Il locale è in zona centrale, facile arrivare. Ambiente interno molto carino e accogliente. Ci viene riservato un tavolo sul soppalco, accanto alla ringhiera appena saliti. Evitatelo se potete, il collettore dell'aria, immette aria fredda... D'estate ci può stare, ma con le giornate piovose, anche no. Curioso il menù, non menù, dovete lasciarvi trasportare dai gusti dello chef, ben azzeccati. Se siete "tradizionalisti" rimarrete un po' delusi. Ottima la carta di vini. Accoglienza più calorosa all'arrivo che all'uscita. Nel complesso... Fateci un salto e non sarete delusi.

Heel gezellig restaurant met Italiaans eten als basis, maar vaak met een twist. Aangezien het de 1e keer was dat we hier waren en iets te vieren hadden, zijn we voor het meest uitgebreide 7-gangen menu gegaan. Heerlijke start met zalm uit Alaska, vervolgens yellow tail met Hollandse garnaaltjes, verfijnde pasta met kokkeltjes, pasta met heerlijke varkens nek, vegetarische gerecht met artichoke, lamsvlees en soufffle. Goede espresso met Madeleine. Heel plezierige bediening en goede bijpassende wijnen.
