Super delicious food, especially the ravioli. Unfortunately, the service was absolutely nonexistent. We didn't get our first drink until over half an hour later, and we weren't helped once without having to call a waiter.

"I ordered a tuna pizza and was very disappointed. It seemed like the tuna was dumped on top straight out of the can, water and all. The result was that the base became completely soggy, and the whole pizza turned into a wet, unpleasant mess. Definitely not what I expected."

We stumbled upon Amarone while walking the streets of Amsterdam. Not only did it exceed our expectations it was one of the best meals we’ve ever had. Claudio and his team are fantastic, professional, and made us feel extremely welcome while dining there. Easily one of the best restaurants in Amsterdam

Delicious pizza with a real Italian flair!

We were served very well and the food arrived quickly. We ordered two pastas, both very tender and delicious! Between the two of us, with a Coke and water, we spent €50 with a tip.

While searching for Italian cuisine, we found this restaurant on Google. We had pizza there, and I have to say we really enjoyed it—perhaps better than many pizzerias in Italy.

Assumed this was gonna be a tourist trap but actually really nice!

Had high hopes for the restaurant but was a bad experience from the get go. We were sat for about 20 minutes without getting our order taken, we had to ask for someone to take it. There was also a table that didn't even get menus for 15-20 mins. There seemed to be only 2 servers so I understand if service was a bit slower but they should not have taken in more tables if they could not tend to them. Our starters and drinks took a while to come, we then got served meatballs that were stone cold on the inside. When paying we asked for the meatballs to be taken off the bill, they only took 50% off. We also asked for water, that we never received, to be taken off the bill but it was left on the bill. Service can somewhat be forgiven as it was busy, but cold food and being charged for things we never got, cannot be.

We had the best time here tonight. The mozzarella focaccia was so good, the salad was nice and fresh. The tricolore pizza was exceptional and tbe Margherita was the best I've ever had. New favorite. Thank you for making our last night in Amsterdam special. It was the perfect capstone to our time here.

Welcomed by a friendly Italian in the restaurant. The service is very good. The atmosphere in the restaurant gives a feeling of being in Italy, and the place is nicely decorated. Order gnocchi with pistachio pesto, the food is delicious. The restaurant is definitely recommended. I'm here relatively early in the day myself, so not sure about the busyness in the evening.

After several days of local food, it was time for some excellent pizza. The tagliatelle with ragù was also delicious.

Food is great, service is really bad. You are lucky if in the 2 hours seating time one of the waiters comes by twice. Totally understaffed for the amount of guests. And with the row of people outside waiting to come eat. U would expect some form of assertivity in service.

Today me and my friend we ordered Tagliatelle al ragù and a Margherita pizza. The pasta was excellent, one of the best I’ve ever had! Unfortunately, I can’t say the same about the pizza: it wasn’t round but triangular, and there was more tomato sauce than pizza dough! Pizza was all burned on the bottom. The taste? None — just tomato sauce…terrible pizza, but excellent pasta, only thanks to Tagliatelle i make two stars, but not one.

Favourite meal of the trip! Gorgeous, authentic Italian food with wonderful staff. The pizza is top notch, proper sourdough base, absolutely perfect! The mushroom ravioli was the nicest pasta dish I've ever had. Was sad eating the last bite. The staff are so nice and really good with the kids. Will definitely return the next time I'm in town. We have an amazing meal with hosts that became friends. We arrived late with 7 people and the staff accommodated us opening. The food was only bested by the service from Ariena. Amazing

Went for dinner with my mom yesterday! Even before stepping in the restaurant, we felt the warm and cozy atmosphere. Ordered two pasta and one starter to share. The pasta was al dente, very chewy and flavourful! The starter Carpaccio was also fresh and delicious. We also ordered tiramisu which was ofcourse amazing. The service is great and no long waiting time for food to be served. Ended the night with a basket of candy to pick from! Definitely recommend and will come back for pizza next time :)

We came spontaneously without a reservation and had the choice of whether we wanted to sit inside or outside. Inside, the atmosphere was lovely and peaceful, with Italian music. The service was super friendly and spoke excellent English. The pizza was amazing, as was the tortellini tartufo. We'll be happy to return on our next trip!

We had lasagna, meatballs and pasta with ragu. Excellent choices, We went back the next day for lunch. Disappointed they don’t open until 5pm. I wish I had taken photos. Make sure to try this place. We will definitely be returning!!

Lovely charming Italian restaurant with delicious pizzas, pasta and focaccia bread. The cheese was rich and the pizza did not feel heavy. Claudio entertained us too, brings so much laughter and joy in his job. Plenty of vegetarian options.

One of the best pizzas I've ever eaten. There are a few things to criticize about the service. The wait was long for the bill, and the waiter was way too casual about his job. He wasn't unfriendly, but he wasn't particularly pleasant. Prices are reasonable. Pizza Margherita €14 and Sprite 0.2 €4.

Picture it walking into a place with cozy Italian charm and pics from The Godfather movie, being greeted by staff that are Italian, and feeling like you stepped into your own Italian Mama’s kitchen where everyone is welcomed! The food perfectly done with flavor, the pizza cooked to perfection, the pasta cooked al dente! Claudio was our waiter and he was truly wonderful! So Italian! So fun! Ask for him you won’t regret it! The staff, especially the charming gentleman with the delightful singing voice and debonair mustache and goatee, made us feel instantly at home with his humor and warm hospitality. Watching him skillfully host the room and keep everyone laughing was a highlight of the evening. We indulged in a delicious pizza, incredible lasagna with a sauce that instantly reminded me of some of the best Italian sauces I’ve tasted around the world, and perfectly fried calamari. The flavors were spot-on, plentiful, and truly memorable. The service struck the perfect balance—attentive without being overbearing—thanks to the gentleman and his capable young colleague. Despite the small team working in an open kitchen, everything was seamless and professional. What made Amarone stand out, beyond the food, was the genuine feeling of being cared for, something not every restaurant manages to deliver. It felt like dining at a dear friend’s home, warm and welcoming in every way. If you’re visiting Amsterdam and crave authentic Italian cuisine paired with a cozy, inviting atmosphere, Amarone should absolutely be on your list.
