Great restaurant with fantastic pastas, pizzas, and staff. Don't remember their names, but the servers working the outside tables around 10pm on August 23rd were just wonderful. Thank you for the great meal!

Excellent service. Good food and a quiet place. The only downside was that two half-liter bottles of water cost €13.

There are many Italian restaurants in Amsterdam but if you want to eat truly Italian style, this is the place to go. The pasta is the one we tried and it was superlative. Impeccable service, warm atmosphere, we will definitely be back.

I enjoyed the pizza with spicy salami. The pizza was tasty and freshly prepared. The service was also good, and we were served quickly by Nicole. All in all, a true 5-star experience!

A welcoming place with friendly and professional waiters, always smiling. They made us feel welcome. We ordered four pizzas, and they were all excellent, with a filling, stringy mozzarella. As an Italian, I highly recommend this restaurant.

Delicious pizzas, great service

One of the best ones in Amsterdam. The materials they use are best class (even tomatoes are from Napoli) the chef and waitress Fabio were great! We will definitely go again! ( the food was such great that we could not take before before eating the half of it😂)

I never thought it was possible to leave a restaurant feeling tense and angry. That was before I tried this restaurant. We ordered pasta carbonara and a pizza. We were excited because the menu listed the authentic recipe. However, it was horribly salty! Inedible. It looked like the salt shaker had fallen into the dish. The waitress, noticing something was wrong, came over and apologized, taking the dish back to the kitchen. The cook then yelled from his open kitchen, "Are they Italian or what?" We were stunned. He immediately went over to us and verbally attacked us, telling us that the dish was just the way it was, that it was normal, and that we should just order something else, but we'd never be happy. All this while shouting in front of the entire terrace. The waitress arrived, profusely apologizing, and suggested we order something else. This one was okay, not very good but much less salty (still too salty). We lost our appetites. The cook ordered the rest of the meal for us. To top it all off, be prepared to pay €6.50 for a 50cl bottle of water. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!

I went to this restaurant with my parents and we had a great time. We had two pizzas and a first course, and everything was delicious. The pizza is on par with many pizzerias in Italy, which isn't always the case abroad. Plus, the value for money is excellent, especially considering we're in Amsterdam. The waiters were very kind and helpful. I definitely recommend this place for anyone who doesn't want to spend a lot and still eat well!

Super service! A small problem with the seafood pasta, half of the mussels hadn't opened, but this was immediately rectified with a lovely plate of extra mussels and a limoncello 😉… we will definitely be back

We were lucky enough to find this truly Italian restaurant during our stay in Amsterdam. In fact, we went there every night! The portions were very tasty and generous, and the prices were fair. Among the dishes, a special mention goes to the grilled fillet steak, the fried fish, and the delicious side dish that accompanied them: delicious! I hope they continue like this 😃

We had a wonderful family dinner last night at Amarone Ristorante Pizzeria while visiting Amsterdam, and it was one of the highlights of our trip. The pasta was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The ravioli was especially outstanding and easily one of the best we’ve had. The focaccia bread deserves a special mention—it was absolutely out of this world. Warm, light, fresh, and incredibly delicious, it set the tone for a fantastic meal. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was friendly and attentive throughout the evening. If you’re looking for authentic Italian cuisine in Amsterdam, I highly recommend Amarone Ristorante Pizzeria. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in the city.

I don't know the reason for the 4.7 rating. The salmon linguine is a ZERO, the other dishes we ordered were quite average.

What a wonderful experience this was. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very pleasant, and we really enjoyed our meal at the wooden table. The pizzas were exactly as they should be, with a perfectly baked crust and fresh basil leaves as a topping. Everything was taken care of down to the last detail. We will definitely come back here again.

A slice of Italy in the heart of Amsterdam. Located in the lively Leidseplein, this restaurant offers REAL ITALIAN CUISINE. A few options, but many are delicious. We had amatriciana and carbonara (finally without cream), tiramisu, and pistachio panna cotta... what can I say...perfect. Prices are in line with the city average. The staff is professional and extremely friendly. I highly recommend it and will definitely return on my next visit to Amsterdam.

Both the food and service were fantastic. I started with the Caprese with buratta, then had the tagliatelle with ragu. Both were very fresh and delicious. I would absolutely return.

We had a ham pizza (5 stars) and a Margherita with chili (1 star). Chili was listed on the menu as an extra for €1. (Luckily, we weren't charged extra; I wouldn't have paid it anyway). Instead of chili, my pizza was drenched in bland oil. They then put this oil on the table. One pizza was good, the other, due to the excessive oil, was the worst I ate in Amsterdam, and I had pizza every day (for 5 days). 7 teas were only available in 0.2l bottles for €4.50; no larger sizes were offered.

The service was quite slow, the man was very inattentive, we had to ask twice to order and to have the bill at the end of the diner. The couple arriving after us were served before us. In addition, the pizza dough was not completely cooked.

Visiting Amarone at Easter 2026 was a last minute decision based on little more than location and availability, as we had just arrived in Amsterdam and we were hungry. Talk about hitting the ground running – and it set the tone for what was The Best City Break Ever™. Amarone is a very welcoming, relaxed and pretty restaurant, with friendly staff, and I enjoyed my pasta dish so much that it completely ruined my dinner the next night at a far more expensive and pretentious Italian place! We ate lots and we ate well in Amsterdam, but if you asked me what I'd like again for dinner tonight, I can honestly say it's the meal I enjoyed at Amarone. Would happily return for a casual meal. Grazie tutte!

I had dinner there 4 years ago (when I lived in Amsterdam), and today I came back. Everything was delicious, and the staff were very kind and patient (it’s King’s Day and there were a lot of people sneaking in the bathroom). It’s located in a great area. I highly recommend it. The food is very tasty and prepared quickly. However, we ordered appetizers and a main course. After we finished the appetizers and they came to clear the table before bringing the main course, my husband was asked to keep his dirty cutlery, and only the dirty plates were taken away. So they don’t have a clean set of cutlery to replace them? Where are we, at his home with only six forks? Ridiculous.

amazing atmosphere it feels like you're in good fellas or the godfather. the personell was very friendly too. the pizza was amazing and the company i was with really enjoyed their meals too. however when we got to dessert and had tiramisu, it was too wet as if it was kept refrigerated too cold or frozen and defrosted. a watery tiramisu

We sat down around 21:30, got our appetizers around 21:50 ish, got our main courses at around 22:00-22:10 and the food was amazing, our waiter, Asia, got our order in fast, was very polite and attentive to our table, and overall it was a very pleasant experience. We paid €110 and that was for 2 apps, 4 drinks, and 2 main courses. Very enjoyable and price-to-quality friendly. 10/10 recommend going if you’re in the area.

Fantastic, authentic Italian pizzas. I had the Borromea pizzas. The tomato sauce was delicious, generously topped with ham. Highly recommended, fast service, and with the Italian music in the background, you really feel like you're in Italy. If we're ever in the area again and decide to have pizza, we'll definitely go back to Amarone🇮🇹
