Ristorante Pizzeria Amarone in De Weteringschans

The service was friendly and the food delicious. We ordered spaghetti carbonara twice, and both people shortly afterward showed symptoms of food poisoning: fever, abdominal cramps, diarrhea, headache, and dizziness. They were unable to do anything but lie in bed for one to two days. It's impossible that the food came from anything other than the pasta, as both people had the same symptoms and had eaten different things besides the spaghetti.

We had a very nice meal. Pizza Calabrese (+anjofish) was very good. Nice pizzadough. Gnocchi with pistachio was marvellous. All served with a big Italian smile. We'll be back. 👌

We ordered a Carpaccio, Pizza with ham & truffe, spaghetti carbonara and Tiramisu. We've got no sharp knife, oliveoil or pepper for the Pizza, no Spoon for the Spaghetti and no Bread for the Carpaccio. The table wasn't really clean. The waiter wasn't friendly. The Pizza was almost cold and had a really oily surface. The Spaghetti Carbonara did taste like nothing. No way its made from real pecorino and guanciala, it would taste so much different. The tiramisu was so soft, not any texture. All in all we were really disappointed.

My experience at Amarone was disappointing. The prices for the salads were outrageously high, and they didn't deliver on quality. Unfortunately, the spaghetti carbonara was inedible, lacking both flavor and the creamy consistency one would expect. To top off the unsatisfactory meal, the tiramisu for dessert failed to impress as well; it was bland and lacked the rich taste that makes this classic Italian dish enjoyable. Overall, I left the restaurant feeling dissatisfied and unlikely to return, especially given the high expectations set by its reputation.

We were tourists in Amsterdam and stumbled upon this wonderful Italian restaurant quite by chance – and what a lucky find! My husband ordered the carbonara and was thrilled: creamy, perfectly seasoned, and exactly as you'd expect it to be in Italy. For my starter, I had vitello tonnato, beautifully presented and simply delicious. For my main course, I had lasagna, wonderfully flavorful, tender, and exactly how you'd want an authentic Italian lasagna to be. The atmosphere was warm and inviting; we immediately felt at ease. The staff was very attentive and friendly without being intrusive. All in all, an authentic Italian experience – we would definitely come back! Highly recommended for anyone who wants to enjoy truly excellent Italian food in Amsterdam. 🍝🇮🇹

A very cozy, tastefully decorated restaurant. The staff is excellent, attentive, very friendly, and very accommodating of any additional requests. The food is delicious. You can taste the Italian flavor, with the attention to fresh, flavorful ingredients. Highly recommended. The tables are not large, but plenty of room. The outdoor terrace is also inviting and heated!

Comfortable Italian restaurant with an owner who makes you feel at home. One of the few restaurants where you can find a great pizza in a wide variety of flavors. They have a wood-fired oven and an exceptional tiramisu. I highly recommend it! If you find yourself in the center of Amsterdam, stop by... Amarone.

Today was my second visit in this wonderful restaurant. My first visit was on my last years summer vacation with my girlfried. I was so satisfied last time, that I ensured that on this business trip I could spent my dinner here again. The location has a wonderful ambience. You hear authentic italian music and might even hear the server singing along to it. Everyone is really nice and the food is even nicer. Today I had a Pizza Calabrese which was absolutely delicious and generously topped with spicy salami. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves italian food.

Food is quite decent, we had a good lasagna and ragú. However it's sort of a peculiar atmosphere. Compared to a lot of the other restaurants in the neighborhood it's still decent tho. But in the bigger area there's better options for sure.

Dining like a holiday in southern Italy! Delicious Neapolitan pizzas, a perfectly seasoned lasagne. And all with very friendly service. We will definitely be back.

Delicious food, but be careful with the water and limoncello – they pour generously and then charge you afterward. The food and service are very tasty. However, they're also quite expensive.

The food was excellent – all compliments! The "focaccia" was also delicious; I would personally recommend adding a touch more olive oil and a few olives to enhance its originality and flavor. The atmosphere was delightful – listening to the staff interact truly makes you feel like you're in the heart of Italy.

The pizza was delicious, the salad simple but very fresh and with excellent ingredients. We asked for the music outside to be turned down, and it wasn't a problem. The staff was very friendly, and we felt comfortable.

Same-ish experience like others. We booked a table but the waiter was very surprised and kept us waiting for around 10 mins to be seated. Then we waited for another half an hour for anything to happen until we asked him when we could order - only to earn a very confusing look and not even a reply. After hearing from some others that they waited 1 hour for the bill, we realised this is the time to leave. In the end, we found a spot somewhere nearby where we have been served with way more gratitude (despite also being full). Not to mention, the whole space is covered in bacon smoke, we smelled like roasted pigs after leaving the place. I understand it is busy on friday nights, but then a) increase the staff or b) only accommodate the amount of people you can handle. Since the reviews are that high, I doubt any of this will happen.

The food and the ambiance were top-notch. However, the service... a family of six came in! They arrived 30 minutes after us and ordered food. But they got their food before us. We waited a very long time for our food. The problem was in the kitchen. The service was simply rushed, but okay. When we asked for bread, unfortunately, there was no bread available. A real shame for a pizzeria, really strange, isn't it? It can't be right that people come after us and get their food before us. We waited an hour for our food. Sorry, that's not right...

The waiter tells us they can't make pizzas because their oven is broken, and he serves pizzas to the customers behind us. We asked for an explanation, but he wouldn't give it to us. We understand he's taken us for a ride. It's a shame because the food is good. But the service left a lot to be desired.

Food was good, got a table without waiting. The waitress gave us good advice in regards to the food to my daughter. Ragu and lasagna was good. Starter focaccia was huge.

We stumbled upon Amarone while walking the streets of Amsterdam. Not only did it exceed our expectations it was one of the best meals we’ve ever had. Delicious pizza with a real Italian flair!

We were served very well and the food arrived quickly. We ordered two pastas, both very tender and delicious! Between the two of us, with a Coke and water, we spent €50 with a tip.

While searching for Italian cuisine, we found this restaurant on Google. We had pizza there, and I have to say we really enjoyed it—perhaps better than many pizzerias in Italy.

Very good! Great food and great service.

Had high hopes for the restaurant but was a bad experience from the get go. We were sat for about 20 minutes without getting our order taken, we had to ask for someone to take it. There was also a table that didn't even get menus for 15-20 mins. There seemed to be only 2 servers so I understand if service was a bit slower but they should not have taken in more tables if they could not tend to them. Our starters and drinks took a while to come, we then got served meatballs that were stone cold on the inside. When paying we asked for the meatballs to be taken off the bill, they only took 50% off. We also asked for water, that we never received, to be taken off the bill but it was left on the bill. Service can somewhat be forgiven as it was busy, but cold food and being charged for things we never got, cannot be.

We had the best time here tonight. The mozzarella focaccia was so good, the salad was nice and fresh. The tricolore pizza was exceptional and tbe Margherita was the best I've ever had. New favorite. Thank you for making our last night in Amsterdam special. It was the perfect capstone to our time here.

Welcomed by a friendly Italian in the restaurant. The service is very good. The atmosphere in the restaurant gives a feeling of being in Italy, and the place is nicely decorated. Order gnocchi with pistachio pesto, the food is delicious. The restaurant is definitely recommended. I'm here relatively early in the day myself, so not sure about the busyness in the evening.

The staff were incredibly friendly and fun. We had a delicious carbonara with cream sauce, excellent grilled vegetables, and a focaccia that would make Italy jealous!! Congratulations!

Food is great, service is really bad. You are lucky if in the 2 hours seating time one of the waiters comes by twice. Totally understaffed for the amount of guests. And with the row of people outside waiting to come eat. U would expect some form of assertivity in service.

Today me and my friend we ordered Tagliatelle al ragù and a Margherita pizza. The pasta was excellent, one of the best I’ve ever had! Unfortunately, I can’t say the same about the pizza: it wasn’t round but triangular, and there was more tomato sauce than pizza dough! Pizza was all burned on the bottom. The taste? None — just tomato sauce…terrible pizza, but excellent pasta, only thanks to Tagliatelle i make two stars, but not one.

Favourite meal of the trip! Gorgeous, authentic Italian food with wonderful staff. The pizza is top notch, proper sourdough base, absolutely perfect!
