The food was great. The service was very polite, a little nervous. But truly authentic Italian.

We came spontaneously without a reservation and had the choice of whether we wanted to sit inside or outside. Inside, the atmosphere was lovely and peaceful, with Italian music. The service was super friendly and spoke excellent English. The pizza was amazing, as was the tortellini tartufo. We'll be happy to return on our next trip!

It is lovely to have a true Italian restaurant, with authentic Italian food, and Italian speaking staff! Thank you to the wonderful service of the staff!! Reservation is very easy to make via the website! The food was amazing!! A big 10/10. Beautiful flavors, pasta al dente just as it should be! The quality-price is just perfect. Lovely charming Italian restaurant with delicious pizzas, pasta and focaccia bread. The cheese was rich and the pizza did not feel heavy. Claudio entertained us too, brings so much laughter and joy in his job. Plenty of vegetarian options.

One of the best pizzas I've ever eaten. There are a few things to criticize about the service. The wait was long for the bill, and the waiter was way too casual about his job. He wasn't unfriendly, but he wasn't particularly pleasant. Prices are reasonable. Pizza Margherita €14 and Sprite 0.2 €4.

Picture it walking into a place with cozy Italian charm and pics from The Godfather movie, being greeted by staff that are Italian, and feeling like you stepped into your own Italian Mama’s kitchen where everyone is welcomed! The food perfectly done with flavor, the pizza cooked to perfection, the pasta cooked al dente! Claudio was our waiter and he was truly wonderful! So Italian! So fun! Ask for him you won’t regret it! Thank you Claudio for making our last night in Amsterdam really wonderful!

We traveled all the way from the United States to Amsterdam and chose Amarone based on the great reviews—and it did not disappoint. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was cozy and romantic, gradually filling up with an energetic buzz as the evening went on. The staff, especially the charming gentleman with the delightful singing voice and debonair mustache and goatee, made us feel instantly at home with his humor and warm hospitality. Watching him skillfully host the room and keep everyone laughing was a highlight of the evening. We indulged in a delicious pizza, incredible lasagna with a sauce that instantly reminded me of some of the best Italian sauces I’ve tasted around the world, and perfectly fried calamari. The flavors were spot-on, plentiful, and truly memorable. The service struck the perfect balance—attentive without being overbearing—thanks to the gentleman and his capable young colleague. Despite the small team working in an open kitchen, everything was seamless and professional. What made Amarone stand out, beyond the food, was the genuine feeling of being cared for, something not every restaurant manages to deliver. It felt like dining at a dear friend’s home, warm and welcoming in every way. If you’re visiting Amsterdam and crave authentic Italian cuisine paired with a cozy, inviting atmosphere, Amarone should absolutely be on your list. Outstanding food. Great Italian staff cooking and serving great Italian food! It smelled so good and we were hungry I forgot to take a picture before we started eating. This pizza was enough for 2 of us to share. The spicy salami was good spice (low to medium hot). Did not have any pastas but it looked amazing and nice size portions. Outdoor seating offered also - full bar, wine and beer.

Pasta was excellent. Calamari was quite terrible. Wine was good and the desert was nice. Honestly a lovely place, just the frozen unseasoned calamari was a big let down - oily and rubbery. Try and pasta or pizza - avoid calamari at all costs.

As Amsterdam residents, this is normally not the place where we go to eat due to the tourist location. But we were positively surprised. Good pizzas with friendly "Italian" service. I wish this business will have more locals as customers and that they will make it.

Zeer goed gegeten voor een eerlijke prijs. De bediening was volledig Italiaans, dat kon je zien en horen. Dit geeft een extra sfeer aan het geheel. Eten was daarnaast erg goed en voor geen gekke prijs. Hier kom ik zeker nog terug als ik weer in Amstrerdam ben.

Nos encantó la energía del personal, la comida era deliciosa y el ambiente genial - expresivo y sociable. Nos dijeron que tendremos que esperar por una comida un poco (20 - 30 minutos) , el restaurante estaba casi lleno y tuvimos suerte de conseguir una mesa. Nos ofrecieron pedir una focaccia cursi mientras esperaba - que realmente disfruté. Creo que los precios eran bastante adecuados. Nos gustaría volver aquí de nuevo, gracias!

We felt like being in a big Italian family here. We loved the energy of the staff, the food was delicious and the atmosphere great - expressive and sociable. We were told that we will have to wait for a food a bit (20-30 mins), the restaurant was nearly full and we were lucky getting a table. We were offered to order a cheesy focaccia while waiting - that one I really enjoyed. We would come here again, thank you!

Precio de gama media, pero tuvimos un cóctel y Prosecco demasiado buena relación calidad-precio. Grandes porciones que lamentablemente no pudimos terminar debido a apetitos más pequeños. El ambiente era fantástico.

We got lucky because a party cancelled last minute on a Friday night, and since there were six of us we would not have been able to eat here. If you love Italian food you will love this restaurant. The house wine was great, appetizers great and the entrees were fantastic. Our waiter was very funny and spoke excellent English. We all ordered different dishes, and the person in our party who ordered the pizza had to share because it was so good! We sat inside because it was a little chilly, but the outside seating filled up as well as the inside.

We came to Amarone for the first time in September of last year... and since then we haven't stopped thinking about their food (and that's no exaggeration!). So as soon as we returned in May, it was almost obligatory to dine here again. The food is still delicious, and the service is so warm that you feel at home... but with better cuisine. A place that definitely deserves to be repeated. See you next time!

We waited for service and almost got up and left. That was our mistake. We should’ve left. There were signs. Filthy dirty glassware. Old sauce on the dishes at the table. Chipped dishes. The food was uninspired. It was a lot like what you could make at home. I think I often had better at home. The main serve was a very likable fellow. I have no idea what could justify the Google rating we saw.

Horrendous dining experience, completely ignored for hours, wasted an entire night. Do not recommend unless you want to wait 2 plus hours for food and get ignored by a waiter until they want to chase you down with a card machine. I went here on the 16th of April this year, it was busy so expected a delay but we waited 2 hours for just our starter. Mistakes happen so I can understand but he could have forgotten our order and placed it through multiple times over in 2 hours or even apologise for the delay but he choose to ignored us. I assumed he’d forgotten as people had arrived, waited to be seated, seated, ordered and gotten food in the time we were sitting there waiting, so clearly had no intention of getting our order (he saw us waiting plenty of times, he was actively avoiding us) Arrived at 7pm and left after 9 with barely a starter. We had the starters and decided to wait for mains as we wouldn’t get into another restaurant at that time but waited another 20 minutes with no sign of mains. Told the waiter we were leaving and he decided then to notice us and chase me down with a card machine for what we had. We got a refund for what we had as it was truly one of the worst dining experiences. No apology for all our wasted time. If you had no intention of serving us any food you could have just said you couldn’t give us a table, wasted an entire evening.

I would come back here time and time again, simply because of the staff (who are all Italian), but it just so happens that the food and wine selection is delightful as well. The lasagne tasted like my great grandmother's. Truly a feeling of comfort and delight 😊

The Pizzeria is on point. Staff very friendly. It takes some time for the food to arrive but its worth the wait. The pasta is very good as is the pizza. Il recomend it.

Firstly, the waiter seems a little sanguine, but the young waiters are friendly. For the starter, we had a bruschetta for 12 euros, very disappointed. A dish that is simple to make but executed in a crude and not tasty manner. It's not worth it given the price. Carbonara pasta is excessively peppery and has a weird or even bitter aftertaste. For the lasagna, it is a little small but good, a downside for the poor quality meat but understandable given the price. Finally, the tiramisu is too expensive, the portion is small but fortunately is very good. I would not recommend but can be used as a convenience restaurant.

Arrived with a reservation and had to wait 30 minutes to be seated. Offered drinks to have in the meantime but they were added to our bill at the end. Starters were good, calzones were a little doughy. Personal hygiene of a staff member was questionable.

The head of the room is really unpleasant, it's barely a thank you and get out of there when you pay. The dishes are quite good but very simple, fortunately it’s not very expensive

If you want to listen to Italian music, a good atmosphere, with very well prepared food and with the good company and kindness of Claudio, don't forget to stop at Amarone. We had very delicious pasta for dinner with a beer as an accompaniment.

A hidden gem in the middle of one of Amsterdam's biggest bar and club streets. Italian music is playing on the background while you are enjoying a delicious talian pizza with a Moretti beer on the side. The dining area was quite small though, cozy, but impractical. Maybe making a wardrobe can solve this problem. In all, good quality restaurant that proves they are worth five stars. Ciao, grazie mille, arrive derci!
