Wonderfull staff, pasta could have been a bit better.

It was a wonderful Friday evening with delicious cuisine: a selection of exquisite cheeses, carpaccio, linquni, ravioli, and tiraminsu. We're not sure if the gentleman who served us was also the owner, but that's exactly what he was: fast service, a phenomenal wine selection, a relaxed atmosphere, humming world music standards, polite elegance, and the highest level of customer service. We left very satisfied with our stay in Amsterdam. We've been running our own restaurants in Poland for 20 years, and when we see such exceptional places run with passion and love for their people, we can only wish them wonderful customers and much job satisfaction. You are exceptional in every way. And the wine from Vesuvius is so extraordinary in taste, it's worth buying a bottle.

Wow. Having only one employee on a Saturday night is already remarkable. A little later, a second one was called in. Still not enough, of course. Both were exceptionally friendly, but staring at a completely empty table for 20 minutes is simply poor management. The polenta I ordered with chicken was practically inedible and I could have served it at this level myself, but I can't cook at all. You would have expected something more delicious from their chef for this extremely simple dish. Out of sheer hunger, I ordered some bread with aioli. And then there's the extra cost… a carafe of tap water, a few vegetables, and two soft drinks. With tip, that still came to €62. If I'd thrown that money down the drain, I would at least have seen some rings. 🥴 That's how you run a business is incomprehensible to me. The pizzas I didn't order looked decent, by the way. But even the chef couldn't do much wrong with them. So, not recommended.

We had a fantastic meal at Mappa! The staff were incredibly friendly and really took their time with us. We even got small glasses to sample wine and some great recommendations! The dishes were incredibly delicious, and the atmosphere was wonderful. All in all, a top-notch place!

Great food, a bit pricey. Unfortunately, there was a strange smell in the restaurant.

The food was fantastic: perfectly cooked pasta with delicious shellfish. We also had a lovely appetizer and dessert. The service was very welcoming and friendly, and the atmosphere was, as always, excellent.

Long service but with a waiter it's normal. No Italian gastronomy, I strongly advise against pizza which is not one.

Mappa in Amsterdam is absolutely worth a visit! The food was outstanding – authentic Italian, fresh, and made with so much care. The tiramisu was absolute highlight. The staff was extremely friendly, attentive, and made sure our experience was flawless. The atmosphere is cozy and invites you to stay longer.

I am a foodie. I have eaten Italian food in Italy, Monaco, and many other places and the vegan ravioli I ordered didn't taste Italian at all. They were fresh ravioli, yes, but the dough was not soft and nicely cooked. I had different types of vegetables on my ravioli, cauliflower al dente and fried zucchini with a seasoning that had so much pepper and a sour taste that it was all I tasted. I didn't enjoy the dish at all and even my friend took pity on me. But his lasagne bolognese was quite mediocre as well. My expectations were high, and personally I will return. We both enjoyed the tiramisu, but that was it. It felt like an Italian for Dutch people like when you have adapted Chinese food for Europeans.

Absolutely loved the atmosphere! The chef is from Rome, so the food is as authentic as it gets. Initially, the cacio e pepe didn’t quite match the one I had in Italy, so I mentioned it to the waitress. Chef Lorenzo personally came out to ensure everything was perfect and replaced it with the original recipe. He even went above and beyond, offering us an extra main course on the house and desserts straight from Rome. Exceptional food and service—Chef Lorenzo and the team, you’ve earned a loyal customer. Can’t wait to come back!!

The food was excellent and the place was very cozy and warm. The service however was not up to standard. When we arrived at 7 p.m. on a Saturday evening we were told that they were out of pizzas. Very strange, early on a Saturday evening 😁 However, we decided to try the other food on the menu instead - and it was absolutely delicious. Our disappointment over the shortage of pizzas must have put our waiter (who, until then had been rather friendly) in a sour mood 😆 because after this she ignored our table for most of the evening, threw the menu on the table when we wanted to choose desert and then let us wait for half an hour before she took the order. We watched her greet other guests with warmth and regularly check on them. ... We also watched her use her bare hands to put icecubes in drinks for other customers, as well as use her teeth to remove the cover of the top of a wine bottle.

The food had a nice taste. Especially the meat of the day was amazing. But the service was too slow.

Incredible care and service! The staff was so kind and accommodating for our large group of 14, with GF, vegan and vegetarian dietary requirements. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was lovely and cozy. We all ate well and felt so cared for!

Mappa is our favorite restaurant. We've been coming there for years. That should say enough :-) The food is delicious, the service is great and Mappa is friendly and fun.

To be honest: it’s not a true Italian restaurant (as they say on their website) but it’s a very good as creative place offering us very good dishes, inspired to the most delicious regional Italian recipes. They also offer some delicious vegan as well as vegetarian options. Thank you so much. 💝

Very bad experience. Very long wait despite reservation. Once seated 20 minutes later we received the menus. Poor food quality. Bad experiences happen, but that’s not all. What particularly made this dinner catastrophic was that at the time of booking we left a bank imprint of €20 which must be returned or deducted from the final bill, it was not clear. The bill arrives at the table, nothing about this 20€ deposit so I ask the waitress what about it. It turns out that she had forgotten to deduct them and that the staff had not recorded that we were a reservation and therefore intended to make us pay the overall bill without deducting the 20€. I really do not recommend this restaurant which can be misleading because the menu and the location are also attractive

Despite making a reservation and an online deposit of 10€/person, we were greeted with the words: "We are currently full and cannot accept any more guests." Twice I tried to say that I had reserved, only the third time it was noticed and we were assigned a table.

Didn't know what to expect but booked a recommended Italian during a day trip. Turned out to more than live up to expectations. The hostess was very friendly and the food was refined and very tasty! If you want an affordable, pleasant evening, I can highly recommend this restaurant!

Convenient to our hotel. Pleasant setting with delicious food reasonably priced. We enjoyed cream fennel soup, vegetarian ravioli, pizza, pasta and steak. All quite good. 4 people, with wine, €135. Attentive pleasant service also. Would go back!

We had team dinner at MAPPA just yesterday as a group of 8 people. I have to say that we loved every dish last night. The place is very cozy and classical stylish. My favourite would be Carpaccio, King crab ravioli and of course, Tiramisu!!! Forgot to take photos for desserts... Lemon sorbet and affogato were also tasty. Bottle wines are a bit pricey, so we had beer and cocktails. Interestingly, there was another huge group of almost 30 staff for company gathering meal. So glad we could still have the opportunity to grab a table and dine in by early reservation! We had a wonderful time there!

Was in Amsterdam for my 21st birthday, we went to Mappa for birthday dinner and it was exceptional! Our server Sharon pulled out all the stops, with impeccable service and a charming demeanour. Not only was the food delicious, but Sharon brought us out a complimentary dessert with the biggest sparkler I’ve ever seen! Top of the list for recommendations, and when back in Amsterdam will be our first dinner pit stop!!!

Mappa is an absolute treasure. I dined alone this evening whilst on business, the atmosphere, music, attentive and knowledgable service were all perfect. The food was even better. I had a sirloin steak from the special of the day and it was exceptional - and I am blooming fussy about my steaks! Served with chanterelles, stewed baby onion, fine green beans (perfectly crunchy)and sweet romana peppers with a red wine reduction, with a side of hand cut fries accompanied by a healthy ramekin of truffle mayo! Followed by Tiramisu - which was exemplary. There’s a great selection of interesting and well priced wine, the Orange Fruili was lovely, as was the Nebiollo (one glass of each, not bottle, I’m not a monster :-) ) I can’t recommend this place highly enough, I’ll be back, and soon.

Honestly, you can't do any better. The wine selection is large, and yet absolutely delicious (we tested 3 wines, an orange, a white and a red). The owner was a true expert. The food really showed fine cuisine and love for the Italian tradition. The music was chill, perfect for a date night or with a few friends - and you will appreciate the few cosy light bulbs. I will come back again, of course. Ciao!

The food matched the description but was not tasty. The taste seemed like it was not prepared with love. The pasta was al dente, but very al dente. All in all, not bad, but also not better than the average home cook. Shame. Previously it had a good reputation. Now more of a tourist+ restaurant. There are better Italian restaurants in town.

Very nice restaurant in a small street in Amsterdam. The pizza dough is good, you can see that it's homemade and that the ingredients are fresh. We also had pasta with a very good sauce.

One of those lovely side street Italian restaurants just off Dam Square. Food was traditional Italian and the servings just perfect. For me one of the best Italian experiences ever. Service was immaculate too.. will be back

Exceptional food!! Comfortable atmosphere. Don't plan to visit if you are in a hurry. The staff is a bit slow. But honestly one of the best pizzas I've ever had. We ordered the Bianca. A fantastic combination of prosciutto and truffle goodness!

Walking by, I was surprised by a great little Italian restaurant in Amsterdam. Great pizza and caprese salad.

We had dinner there yesterday. As appetizers we had bruschetta and burrata. As main dish Mt husband and I got chef's fish, which was tuna with saffron sauce, vegetables and potatoes, delicious! The tuna was perfectly cooked. My son had the marguerita pizza, with a delicious tomato sauce. And as dessert, tiramisu, a must have.

De bediening is echt heel erg fijn! Wat een behulpzame en lieve meiden zeg! Ik had een pizza die vond ik echt mwa… het was harde droge cracker-achtige bodem met een ok topping. (Ik hou meer van de Napolitaanse Style) Ravioli was aan harde kant maar super goed opgelost. En de pasta’s waren heerlijk! Top service en een goede sfeer!

Heerlijk gegeten. Van de voorgerechten is de zalm echt een aanrader. Wij wilde graag per ronde bestellen en de menukaart bij ons houden. De bediening probeerde de menukaart alleen na iedere bestelling direct mee te nemen. Dit was een beetje hinderlijk.

Onlangs een fantastische avond gehad bij Mappa! De nieuwe chef heeft zichzelf goed bewezen door een kleine, verfijnde kaart met heerlijk smakende gerechten te introduceren. De uitgebreide wijnkaart bevat voor ieder wat wils, en de bediening staat paraat om te helpen bij het kiezen van een geschikte wijn. Ik kan niet wachten tot de volgende keer dat ik bij Mappa terecht kan voor een tafeltje en een leuke avond!

The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, happy to give advice on wines. The food is delicious. I had the marinated salmon and the linguine, both wonderful. The salmon was fresh and tender, the linguine rich and creamy. A hidden gem in the heart of Amsterdam 💜

In het schilderachtige hart van Amsterdam, verschuilt zich restaurant Mappa, een ware parel met een Italiaanse ziel. Ik heb hier al een aantal keer mogen aanschuiven en dat was het elke keer waard. De nieuwe chef heeft het menu op de schop gegooid met minder, kwalitatief hogere, gerechten en daarnaast een uitgebreidere wijnselectie. Perfetto!! 🇮🇹

Een Hemelse Italiaanse Culinaire Ervaring in Amsterdam! ★★★★★ Ik heb onlangs een onvergetelijke avond gehad in een Italiaans restaurant in Amsterdam en ik kan met volle overtuiging zeggen dat het een buitengewone eetervaring was! Dit Italiaanse juweeltje heeft mijn smaakpapillen betoverd en mijn verwachtingen overtroffen op elk gebied. Bij aankomst werden we hartelijk verwelkomd door het vriendelijke personeel( SHARON), dat ons meteen op ons gemak stelde. De sfeer in het restaurant was warm en gezellig. Het interieur en de decoraties waren smaakvol en creëerden een knusse ambiance die perfect was voor een intiem diner. Het menu bood een uitgebreide selectie van traditionele Italiaanse gerechten, van klassieke pasta's en pizza's tot verfijnde vis- en vleesgerechten. Elk gerecht dat we bestelden, was met zorg bereid en dat proefde je meteen. De gebruikte ingrediënten waren van topkwaliteit en de presentatie was oogstrelend. Bovendien waren de porties royaal, waardoor we een echte culinaire reis door Italië konden maken. Een van de hoogtepunten van de avond was de attente en goed geïnformeerde bediening. Ze gaven uitstekend advies over welke gerechten het beste bij onze smaakvoorkeuren pasten en boden zelfs geweldige wijn-spijscombinaties aan, die onze maaltijd naar een hoger niveau tilden. Het was duidelijk dat het personeel gepassioneerd was over het delen van de Italiaanse keuken met hun gasten en dit droeg bij aan de algehele geweldige ervaring. Om de avond af te sluiten, genoten we van een selectie heerlijke Italiaanse desserts, waaronder tiramisu en panna cotta, die de perfecte zoete afsluiting waren van deze uitzonderlijke culinaire reis. Kortom, dit Italiaanse restaurant in Amsterdam heeft mijn hart veroverd met hun voortreffelijke gerechten, uitmuntende service en gezellige ambiance. Als je op zoek bent naar een buitengewone Italiaanse eetervaring, dan is dit restaurant een absolute must-visit! Ik kan niet wachten om terug te keren en opnieuw te genieten van hun hemelse creaties. Expensive Italian restaurant. Pizza dough v tough topping of ? Cheese topping not drained and cold. Literally streaming out whey. Fish of the day overcooked and deep fried. Miserly portion. Wait staff pleasant, fire the chef.

The lovely wait staff aside, this was disappointing. Small menu, which is fine, but you’d expect what they deliver to be top notch. Italian chef or not, my tagliatelle ragu was decidedly average and inferior to what I’d rustle up at home. The wine was good but, at over €6/small glass, it ought to be.

A small Italian-style place in the city center. Nice antipasti, tuna steak was excellent, wine was average.

This place is beautiful, homey, and delicious!! The chef is from Milano so it is so authentic. Sharon is the bartender and she is super friendly, cute and energetic! Definitely recommend to anyone looking for good Italian food in Amsterdam. You must get the espresso martini cheesecake

Service was friendly enough but several small things added up to not being satisfied. Food looked good but was mixed, onion soup was thin and without body. Clams with pasta not washed properly lots of sand and grit etc, staff tried to pass it off as pepper...quaint atmosphere but won't return

Really great take on classical Italian cuisine but modernized on a whole new level. The addition of vegan options spun on classical dishes is fantastic, each dish was delicious.

El exterior del restaurante es bonito , el interior también agradable y cálido , el servicio no fue malo y estaban atentos a nosotros . Lo único malo del restaurante fue la comida , de primero pedimos una burrata con un tomate que no estaba ni sazonado e insípido , la burrata por el precio del plato no era una burrata de calidad . De Segundo pedimos melanzane , típico plato de Italia muy sencillo y creo que fue la berenjena cortada en trozos demasiado gordos , no le quitaron la acidez con sal entonces la berenjena era imposible de masticar , el queso no era tampoco queso parmesano . Pedimos también una pizza con trufa , el condimento no estaba nada mal , pero la masa era mucho peor que la de Telepizza . Me sentí que me engañaron con la apariencia del bar . No está mal pero no es para gente que sabe comer y entiende de comida .
