Restaurant Di Bruno in Museumkwartier

Came here for my birthday, but the service was very poor. Despite the place being almost empty, the staff wasn’t proactive, never offered the menu, and even seemed annoyed with our choice of ordering an appetizer. The food was okay, but nothing special, the bread was disappointing.

Just an ok experience. Food was good and clearly made fresh, and the service was nice enough. However, I asked for a dessert menu which was never brought. After a 20-minute wait, they instead gave me my bill, which felt a bit as though they just wanted to get rid of me. Not a positive note to leave a restaurant on.

Great Italian restaurant fabulous food

My partner and I went there the day before the marathon. We each ordered a starter and a pasta dish. The food was absolutely delicious! Looking at the menu, I was surprised by the relatively high prices, but the quality of the food totally made up for it! It is definitely worth it! Even what I expected to be a plain Mediterranean salad turned out to be a culinary delight! The atmosphere is also on point. Sinatra playing in the back, dim lighting, Italian owner and staff. It was perfect! We highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely come back on our next trip to Amsterdam.

A truly nice experience. Very nice service, good and fast. Food was excellent. Maybe the veggies for the steak could have been warmer but that is an insignificant detail. The best was to observe the family dinner next to kitchen on a Sunday evening. Enjoyed that we were not pushed to order at anytime even though we ordered main courses after finishing starters.

I love their service as never being push at all. You can order and try one by one and staffs are so friendly. We order different starter And I love the salmon tartare 👍🏻👍🏻 Main course — love the pasta as serve warm and beef are great but if side vegetable can be warm would be great. New experience of the dessert , yummy !!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A very pleasant experience at the Di Bruno restaurant in Amsterdam. The ambiance is stylish, cozy, and inviting – you immediately feel welcome. I would especially like to highlight the young waiters, who, although still in the learning phase, are already doing a fantastic job. They were attentive, friendly, and made the evening very pleasant. You can tell that the people here are very motivated and enjoy their work. The food is also worth a visit: The dishes are fresh, authentic Italian, and prepared with great attention to detail. From appetizers to dessert, everything was delicious and of high quality. For me, this is a clear recommendation in Amsterdam – we'd love to come back!

The spaghetti was fine, but the service was not. The restaurant seems to be under staffed, and maybe I was just eating out by myself, I was given a pretty bad table by the bar counter, and the owner didn’t even bother to check whether the food was good or not. I think the lack of care resulted in my bad experience. Better choices are nearby.

Brilliant food. Excellent service..we are outside, so can't say much about the ambience inside. But the music being played was nice, neither too loud nor too low. It was a very enjoyable evening. And it was fun to practice my Sicilian with the maitre d'😊.

The food was delicious, though the portion sizes felt small for the price. Unfortunately, the service was lacking. It seemed like they were short-staffed, as our food took quite a while to arrive, and no one offered us a dessert menu. When we did order dessert, it took nearly 15 minutes to be served. When we finally approached the counter to pay—since no one came to clear the plates—the staff was distracted, playing on their phones.

La comida estaba bien (en realidad el ragu era impresionante) y me gustó el vino tinto de la casa, también. Pero... El servicio - triste escribir eso, en realidad era muy malo: lento, lleno de errores (nunca me dan mi otra porción de vino, nos dieron factura totalmente equivocada etc. ) , sin duda lo que nos gustó de la comida. Las camareras no eran profesionales y les falta su sonrisa; un hombre hizo su trabajo bien. Realmente no recomiendo ese lugar. 👎

Good food, but paying 110 e for 2 starters for 2 people with some drinks is very expensive...

En meget hyggelig fint udseende resturent men kunne desværre ikke lave god nok mad og det var væstenligt dyre end andre resturenter i området, hvilket det slet ikke lever op til. Personalet var meget søde, men virkelig langsom betjening. Vi er lidt kede af at skulle give to stjerne men desværre fortjener hverken maden eller betjeningen mere.

If you are French and you don't speak English very well... don't go there. We ordered a bottle of wine and showed the waiter what we wanted. He indicated when he arrived with one bottle that the other one was no longer available. I asked if it was the same price and he indicated yes. But when we got the bill it was a different story... we paid, obviously very unhappy... and we still ate well.

We're traveling to Italy. It feels like we're there.

Place is warm and food is delicious but it cost more than what has been served. Menu is limited. For a Friday evening it was much empty than it was shown on reservation app. We were 4 tables like 80% empty which says similar to my feelings that stg is wrongly tuned. Glass of wine 7-15, main dishes 30+

The worst italian restaurant i have ever been to. We ordered oysters with caviar and they 'forgot' the caviar. They brought a different drink without a new glass, thinking we would drink different drinks from the same glass. Everything on the online menu was not there. They didnt take the coats. Wine is left there even if the glass in empty they dont fill it. The cheff wasnt there so they put a substitute who put litteral pieces of lemon in a pasta!!! Pieces of the shell of the lobster was in my pasta. They say they are italian but they put a fork and knife and NO SPOON!!! It was the worst! Dont ever go there

Excellent atmosphere, also really good food (tagliatelle with mushrooms a must try) but a special thanks goes to Salvatore, a Sicilian DOC who will recommend you the best dishes with his kindness. thank you, we will definitely be back! see you ;)

Nos encontramos con este restaurante por accidente, ya que estaba cerca del hotel. La comida era muy agradable - y la carta de vinos era muy agradable y a un precio razonable. Desiertos donde muy agradable y fresco. El único problema que tuvimos fue que la red principal se había retrasado bastante para ser entregada en nuestra mesa. El ambiente era bastante agradable y lindo también, y el servicio era bueno.

Excellent dinner at the Bruno Restaurant. We ate the fish of the day, a delicious sea bass and risotto with porcini mushrooms. Right portions and really tasty. Friendly and polite staff. Highly recommended!

The other night I had the most delicious dinner with family here. Di Bruno’s carbonara is one of my all-time favorites. The staff are young and friendly, and the chef is a delight to speak with while serving up delicious meals. I cannot wait to return!

Great place for Italian food. It is located very close to the Vondelpark and easy to find. Inside it is very cozy, not too many tables and a nice setting. The staff is nice and help you quickly. The food was delicious, we loved it. I can very much recommend having dinner here if you are looking for a good Italian place.

Amazing restaurant, food made from high quality ingredients, the pasta dish was delicious was like being in Italy very authentic. The ambiance was very relaxing, playing frank sinatra in the background. Service was top, Nadia our waitress in particular was so welcoming and accommodating. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a meal in the area.

Der Koch war wohl verliebt. We ate two days in a row in another Italian restaurant and I convinced everyone to try something new on our last evening. We checked some reviews and were slightly misled by these. The Carbonara was heavily oversalted, almost impossible to eat. The salmon was so lala, we ate much better one before (and even I can cook a better one). Unfortunately no one was even asking how the food is (which I think is a standard question from waiter/owner/cook). The restaurant is nicely situated and the waiter tried his best, but unfortunately it is completely overprized for the food you get (not included the carbonara for €24, which was not worth 5 euros). We had one main dish and one drink.

Real Italian food beautifully presented and full of flavour. Friendly staff and great atmosphere.

Bruschetta starters were good but the salad nicoise were awful. A few salad leaves, 1 small cherry tomato halved, one hard boiled egg halved, a few olives and a small piece of raw tuna. The true dish should thinly sliced or flaked tuna and often, anchovies. There were also no potatoes or beans or any dressing.

Wonderful and innovate Italian cuisine. Great food and great service. We walked in, and sat down at a table in the back. Immediately a server put down some herbed beats and chips, and I've never had beets as good as that before. We got our glass of wine, and again, Antinori reds seem to be in short supply. The tortellini had mushroom and truffle flavoring bursting from the pasta. We both got the filetto al barolo e tartufo, perfectly cooked and a lovely presentation. Pricey, but outstanding.

Best carbonara I have ever had! Very well seasoned and well portioned!

We ordered a prosecco that had no fizz at all. After barely one sip we immediately received our main course. We had neither the time to finish our aperitif nor the chance to order wine. Halfway through the dish, salt and pepper were rudely taken away and we were asked to leave. no one asked if you enjoyed it? No one asked if we wanted dessert or coffee? Forty-five minutes later we were outside without a look or a hello from the boss... Not exactly a pleasant dinner as we had in mind!

No hospitality to customers. Especially who brings kids.

Food and service were great. My issue was the mouse. I saw a mouse running across the floor under the table next to ours. I politely asked the server if this was common in Amsterdam. They said yes it was a huge issue in the city and offered to move us to another table. My worry was the kitchen more than the dining room. Being my first visit here, I didn’t know any better. Anyway, 5 stars other than the mouse. Perhaps invest in traps or a cat?

A relatively formal, relatively traditional Italian menu, and it's done very well. It feels like this is a family-tun place - on a Wednesday evening we were the only diners there who didn't have young children or were speaking Italian. It's quite pricey but I think it's worth it. We had pasts ad a dessert, and everything was very good. The Carbonara was pretty salty, but I think due to the delicious bacon lardons and a prime example of Pecorino cheese. My daughter pronounced her tomato sauce to be delicious, and if they can do these 'simple' dishes well, that's normally a very good guide to the quality of the kitchen. We all had a delicious slab of Tiramisu for pudding and a very tasty bottle of the House White Wine - a fresh and crisp Grillo.

Después de estar toda la mañana en el museo VanGogh y Rijksmuseum, busqué un restaurante iraliano para reponer fuerzas 😅. Experiencia desigual. Sería por la hora (alrededor de las 14:30 h) pero era el único cliente en ese momento. El camarero estuvo amable, eso sí. Pedí un carpaccio de ternera para empezar (correcto), unos espaguetis a la carbonara (algo apelmazados y la panceta muy hecha/quemada). El tiramisú, estaba bueno. Y el expresso, también. El precio (68€) en la línea con la ciudad.

Both of our meals were disappointing and poorly cooked. The broccoli was boiled with the water and tasted like fish; we tried to mix in the pesto side dish which made it somewhat edible but my partner couldn’t finish her meal. The carbonara was sitting in a pool of oil in my plate and the bacon bits were soggy, and had nothing to resemble a nice, well cooked carbonara…. 24€ for something I could have done at home with my eyes closed. The servers were very friendly, however very inattentive and generally slow. This place has potential, but needs a LOT of work.

Great kitchen, that saved everything. Otherwise, there is a shortage of staff in the restaurant or, in addition to the owner, there are skilled workers who have not yet been trained. You have to be quick to order something. There is no wine list. Staff seemed stressed.

Really nice place, food was really good and the place was nice. We were outside and enjoyed dinner a lot while the sun was getting down. Service was very friendly and overall good, but organisational wise i think they can do a bit better. Anyway the food makes up for everything since it was super good and the appetisers they bring for free was a really nice touch. Prices were a bit expensive tho.

We loved the food and the atmosphere, but most of all we loved Serena, the Queen of this place! The moment you enter she becomes your beautiful friend, who wants to do the best for you, who offers all the attention and positive vibes! Fantastic real italian dishes. Service was a bit chaotic.

Quite disappointed by this restaurant.I am Italian and very familiar to good food. The food was good but service very very slow, we waited more than 45 minutes between starter and main course. Our friend chose raviolis ricotta and spinach and were given without notice crab fish and unfortunately they were allergic to seafood. We all ate our meal and they were served when we ended ours. They offered us a limoncello but we were so disappointed and did not accept, no effort was made on the bill. A new chef had just started but did not follow what was mentioned on the menu, the spaghetti agio and olio with brocolis came with no brocolis. The place is small and very noisy. The young staff tried their best and simply apologized but they were not responsible. I would not recommend the place as quite expensive too
