The menu is extensive and the portions are very satisfying. The food is absolutely delicious, and the waiter was very friendly and welcoming. If I visit Amsterdam again, this is definitely a restaurant I'll come back to.

The proprietor is a gentleman and a man of great taste.

The food is incredibly fresh and delicious, and the service (including the owner himself) is very friendly. A definite recommendation: even if you're full, you should order the tiramisu (perhaps share it) – it's absolutely delicious!

Actually the best restaurant I have ever been to!! I’ve been to hundreds but this one… it’s different! They welcome you and have the biggest smiles on their faces, they make your food with lots of love and it’s super cheap!! I have been there a couple times now and I’m going back tonight, it’s so good! They also gave me a free shot last time:) If you are looking for an amazing real family owned Italian restaurant, this one is for you! Just such amazing people and atmosphere, everyone needs to go here at least once in your life it’s life changing!!

We loved this place so much! We've come here for the 3rd time now and we always wonder how its not a more popular restaurant because it never disapoints. We first came for the very affordable prices but we keep coming back for the warm and welcoming atmosphere and the amazing food (they dont cheap out on the pizza toppings even for the good price). Its a hidden gem that hopefully more people will discover soon :)

Our choice of Porto Carrara stemmed from our search for an alternative to traditional Dutch cuisine, which naturally isn't among the most elaborate in Europe. We decided to opt for an Italian restaurant. Based on online reviews, it seemed quite affordable. However, in practice, it doesn't quite live up to that image. It's not exactly expensive, but it's also not as economical as many reviews suggest. Regarding the food, the experience was only average. Those who have never had much contact with Italian cuisine might find it sufficient, but for those who are more familiar with Italian gastronomy, the execution leaves something to be desired. The restaurant conveys a certain traditional trattoria vibe, but in reality, the dishes end up seeming quite distant from authentic Italian cuisine. Nothing was particularly bad, but nothing stood out positively either. Overall, I'd say the food falls somewhere in the middle: acceptable, but lacking identity or precision. Unfortunately, the experience became more uncomfortable due to the table we were seated at, right by the door. With the constant coming and going of customers, dinner ended up being quite inconvenient.

Terrible pizza, stingy with the sauce and cheese. One of the four pizzas arrived 6 minutes late, and the restroom cost 2 euros. What a horrible place! The owner smells of Afghan, and the food is also inedible.

The food wasn't very good, it wasn't particularly warm, it took about 45-50 minutes, and grocery shopping cost 2 euros! NOT RECOMMENDED

We came here about 10 minutes after opening Time but it was no problem at all, The gentleman running the place was really Nice and even gave us some bread and garlic butter on the house it's a really great authentic Italian place to visit i can definitely recommend, especially if you are looking for good wine or an original Tiramisu

Absolutely amazing restaurant, fantastic value for money. Food was incredible we had the Pizza and Tomato Pastas, both (especially the pasta) was massive portions more than enough for a big appetite on a budget.

It's good value for money, the taste is good, the portions are plentiful, and the owner is really friendly! The second time I went, they asked me where I was from and when I told them I was from Korea, they welcomed me by saying it was my friend's country and even gave me tea and snacks :) It was nice to be able to eat in a comfortable atmosphere. Personally, the pizza was delicious!

I've been here a good handful of times since a friend introduced me to the place not too long ago. He's been coming coming to the place for about 30 years at this point. Most importantly, the pizzas are excellent; they're some of the best I've had in years. I wouldn't know about the other dishes to be honest, but from what I've seen, they look good. The owner and personnel are personable and competent, and the restaurant has a nice atmosphere.

Staff was very unfriendly, service scolded us for something that another person had done, it was no longer possible to discuss this with us. Don't come again.

A very calm Wednesday 27/12. Alone in the restaurant. We were welcomed by the boss who has been at the station for 43 years. Very nice ! The pizzas are good and the prices are really reasonable compared to other restaurants nearby, between 9 and 12 euros per pizza!

Fui com meus amigos a esse restaurante e fomos mal atendidos pelo garçom, que nos tratava com desdém. Nos olhava como se não nos quisesse ali, fazendo caras e bocas até pra trazer guardanapo. A comida também não é la essas coisas, pedi um macarrão que estava ok, e a pizza da minha amiga estava bem seca e sem gosto. Não recomendo.

Wir waren Ende März in Amsterdam und sind an unserem letzten Tag bei Porto Carrara eingekehrt. Es hat stark geregnet und das Restaurant war eigentlich noch gar nicht geöffnet, der Besitzer hat uns allerdings schon früher reingelassen und die Küche extra für uns früher geöffnet. Die Vorspeise (Carpaccio) war sehr, sehr lecker und die Pizzen waren auch wirklich sehr gut. Neben dem guten Essen war der Service wirklich fantastisch, der Besitzer, sowie der Kellner, waren beide absolut nett und zuvorkommend. Zum Schluss haben wir noch zwei Espressos auf‘s Haus bekommen. Wenn ihr also auf der Suche, nicht nur nach gutem Essen, sondern auch nach gutem Service seid, dann seid ihr hier sehr gut aufgehoben ☺️

He didn't even admit that he was mistaken about one dish of our order! Most tragic of all: He served us, while talking to his phone! The food was OK, for they money we spend it.
