Staff members were polite, attentive and quick to attend to guests, keeping waiting times reasonably short despite the steady flow of visitors. Every interaction felt warm and professional, which greatly lifted the mood of my roadside pause. The restaurant space is bright, clean and thoughtfully laid‑out. Both the dining zones and rest areas are kept spot‑free. Plenty of seating options are available, making it easy to find a comfortable spot to unwind after long hours behind the wheel. Large windows let in ample natural light, creating a relaxed atmosphere far better than many typical motorway‑side fast‑food outlets. Practical facilities are well‑maintained for guests on transit. This site understands perfectly what road travellers truly need: reliability, cleanliness and solid service. It is more than just a quick‑food pit‑stop. It offers a calm, welcoming space to recharge before continuing your journey. Whether you are passing through for a quick bite or taking a longer rest, McDonald’s Hazeldonk‑West delivers a consistent, satisfying experience. It sets a fantastic example for highway‑situated fast‑food restaurants, and I would happily recommend it to anyone travelling along this route.

First of all, you have to pay 1 euro to use the toilet; there was supposed to be a discount voucher that turned out not to exist. Then, after we had placed our order, we were told that we had to report the problem first before we could order. Subsequently, we ordered something small to recover the 5 toilet visits, only to find out that we could only recover 1 per order. Pure rip-off, definitely not recommended and best avoided.

Stay away, you have to pay extra for toilet (1 EUR) even as paying customer. This would be illegal in other EU countries. Food was low quality as well, one of the burgers had no sauce and was dry like desert. Tables are not cleaned, had to wipe the table myself. Staff is extremely annoyed about customers who complain about the toilet situation. Not their fault that the manager is charging a fantasy pee-tax, but they get the anger nevertheless.

I see a lot of complaints about the toilet being 80 cents; McDonald's has now made it 1 euro! So for a family of 5, it's already €5 just for the toilet... Otherwise, it's just a Mac.

The food was generally good, except that the nuggets were on the cold side. Almost all the tables here are dirty. I can understand paying €1 for the toilet, but then you should be able to sit on a clean toilet, and that is absolutely not the case here.

Be prepared to pay a fortune for just trash food and to actually pay if you want to even wash your hands before and once again after you eat. Ridiculous.

I've never seen anything like this. You go in to eat and to wash your hands before eating you have to pay 1 euro to go to the toilet. The point is not in the 1 euro but in relation to the customers. I do not recommend this establishment....

I've been to many McDonald's all over Europe and beyond... But this is the first time I've seen such a marvel. 1. A paid restroom for customers!? You're kidding. Just make it like in London, where you only need a receipt and scan it. 2. Yeah, they mark your order as ready first, and then they give it to you... But I'm not that picky. But point 3 was simply astounding. 3. I ordered a Big Tasty. And I was frankly surprised that there was no bottom bun, they just put it in a bag... And the patties... I've never tasted so much salt in meat. Overall, my impression was negative...

I paid €1 here so I could do my business, only to have to leave again because there was no toilet paper and I wasted €1. Now I'm in the red because of that.

Hello, I am writing to inform you of my very negative experience at your McDonald’s restaurant in the Netherlands. First, I simply asked for a glass of tap water, but the staff refused to serve it, telling me I would have to pay. I found this response very disappointing. Then, I purchased some items from your restaurant and asked for mayonnaise. The staff responded rudely, claiming I hadn't bought any, even though I had specifically asked for it. Furthermore, the nuggets I was served were cold. The cleanliness of the restaurant was also unacceptable. The tables were dirty. I even offered to clean them myself by simply asking for a cloth, but this request was refused. Moreover, the restaurant advertises table service, but this was not provided. Finally, I would like to point out the behavior of two members of staff. A young employee who was serving us was very rude and disrespectful. Similarly, a manager wearing a white uniform spoke to us in an unpleasant and unprofessional manner. We felt unwelcome and disregarded throughout our visit. I am very disappointed with this experience, which falls far short of the level of service expected at a McDonald's restaurant. Where are the Dutch-speaking people? The toilets are really poorly maintained, and you still have to pay.

Good parking and halal food options

This stuff is inedible, I had to laugh at how salty this food was and the hamburgers were as dry as the desert in Afghanistan, impossible to eat here.

The opening hours state that you are open until 2:00 AM. We were there at 1:15 AM and the McDonald’s was already closed. Absolutely ridiculous. If you close earlier, put the correct opening hours online.

The toilets cost money (80 cents even for customers) and were disgusting! (I've included the least bad photo from the review). The hamburgers were completely dry, the fries were extremely salty, and it was hard to get a smile out of the staff.

Slowest McDrive ever. The employee makes mistakes the whole time when taking the order. It took 30 minutes to pick up our order of 3 menus without a customer in front of us!!!

It's a McDonald's like any other, except the toilets cost money! So if you eat in, budget for the toilet. Unheard of!

It's just a McDonald's, so you know what you're getting, but this time the service was mediocre. The man who brought the food said he still needed to get straws, but then he didn't, so we had to do it ourselves. Afterwards, we discovered they had forgotten the mayo and napkins as well. Man oh man, things are going so badly for McDonald's. Every time, I'm amazed at how much the standards drop and how fast the prices rise. By now, you can't even order in Dutch anymore, and as a paying customer you have to pay again for the toilet, and on top of that, the place is filthy. The food wasn't good either. Avoid!

This isn't a fast food restaurant as advertised. We waited 20 minutes for ice cream; they didn't seem to display our order. The restroom is a paid service. There's barely enough room at the table. The ice cream was all over the glass.

Last Tuesday, we came here for dinner with two small children. We arrived around 5:30 PM and there were hardly any customers, so it was very quiet. What struck us immediately is that you have to pay €0.80 for the toilet, even if you are a customer. That is not right, especially with a baby you need to change. Additionally, the toilet was really FILTHY, even though the restaurant was practically empty. According to my partner, the men's toilet was also not clean at all. I find that hard to understand... you pay for the toilet, yet it is not maintained. I know that McDonald’s isn't known for perfect hygiene in the toilets, but especially during a quiet moment, you would expect an employee to check every now and then and keep everything a bit tidy. That was clearly not the case here, and we found that really disappointing.

We paid over €25 for a quick snack for 2 people. The Fishburger was pathetic: the fish croquette and the half slice of cheese were tossed between the bun from a distance, so they stuck more to the cardboard box itself than to the bread. The fries were the 'typical fast food fries': a few limp, thin, lukewarm fries that only satisfy the worst hunger. And now comes the kicker... The highway was heading from the Netherlands towards Belgium. Because it was a Sunday holiday and the road didn't open until noon, we arrived here after 1 PM and needed to use the restroom and get some takeout. The restrooms were supposed to be free, but both men and women could use them directly. They were fairly clean. This rest stop was located at the border between the two countries. The McDonald's inside was full of young people; American fast food culture is truly ubiquitous. In Europe, most major rest stops have Starbucks, reminding drivers to drink coffee. Larger rest stops also have McDonald's outlets for dining. These restaurants all use self-service ordering. The wait time wasn't too bad. The food was similar to what we had in Taiwan, but the fish burgers there were better; these were too dry.

This McDonald’s branch has the best Filet-O-Fish I’ve had — fresh, tasty, and perfectly made.

We arrived two minutes before closing time and were still allowed to order! :) It might have been annoying for them, but we didn't notice anything! It was delicious and warm! Legends!!!!

The first order was delivered fairly quickly, but the second order, a single coffee, took about 40 minutes to arrive. We approached them twice until they pointed out that the coffee was waiting, but they never gave it to us, and it was already cold. Next on the list, Big Tasty, which is just a name, most likely a Mini Tasty. Overall, it's so-so.

I ordered food from McDonald's today and it was a real disappointment. The lettuce I received was wilted, turning brown, and looked absolutely not fresh. Moreover, there was just a bit of sauce sloshed over it, as if it had been thrown together without any care. This shouldn't be served like this, especially not for the price you're paying. In short: very poor quality and not what you'd expect from McDonald's. Hopefully, something will be done about this, because this was definitely not a meal-worthy product.
