Chicken burger still raw and cold, cheese not melted... hygiene very poor... see photos... better to go a few meters further in all directions there are several McDonald's branches.

Worst Mcdonalds I have ever seen around the world!! I waited 25 minutes for my order, they are not even answering your question, I left there without getting my order!! It's chaos there, hundreds of customers are waiting and only one impolite person is delivering foods!!

The restaurant has a modern design, but in practice the place feels poorly maintained. The seating area was dirty, with food leftovers and trash not properly cleared, and the overall organization was lacking. Service was also disappointing. The staff appeared unmotivated and the interaction was not very friendly, which negatively affects the experience, even for a fast-food restaurant. The operation felt disorganized, with delays and little attention to customers. Considering the usual McDonald’s standards in Europe, this location was well below expectations. Improvements are needed in both cleanliness and customer service.

Waited half an hour for 9 chicken nuggets

I ordered a coffee and a menu. The coffee tasted like brewed coffee, but it was watered down. The service was terrible. I ordered food inside, but they packed everything in a bag and didn't even give me a tray. One of the employees lied to me. My impression of this restaurant was terrible.

One euro to go to the bathroom, and they're dirty too? Oh, please...

Where to begin... The food was so-so... The drinks were very sweet and artificial (at the same time...). The place is very, very, very dirty, which makes the experience very unpleasant. We wanted to try the McDonald's in Amsterdam... On the plus side: it's big and the nuggets are cheap. I don't recommend it!

I've rather avoid this place due to chaos instide durring pick up times. Cree doent know how to serve orders so im many people are trying to get ito the counter, and they are notoriously ignored by the staff.

December 29, 2025. A very bad experience at this McDonald's. It doesn't deserve to be called McDonald's... €65 for 6 people + €1 for the toilet. Hygiene must be close to zero. Sorry, Ronald 👎👎👎

The food wasn't hot, the floors and tables were dirty. Overflowing trash cans. Toilet visits were only €1 per person, even for customers. And on top of that, the staff were completely disinterested and unsympathetic. They gave incorrect and incomplete orders and reacted antisocially if you returned to the counter for them.

The worst McDonald's on the planet. 30-minute wait for two burgers. One nonchalant waitress who didn't even know what she was doing there (completely clueless and barely functioning). She handed out bags without drinks. There was vomit on the tables and the floor. A man was being arrested by the police right next to us, and some kids were blasting music. A truly horrific McDonald's. For your mental and physical health, absolutely do not go there ☝️

Amsterdam McDonald’s are the worst ever, all of them. Thank god I am not usual to eat fast food… It’s ultra dirty, kassa always empty, incredibly rude employees and the “fast food” it’s a concept that they for sure don’t know. The food quality is horrible and the taste of my hamburger even worse… Why are they still open?

I ordered a coffe and waited the number only to discover that you should have asked bartender directly about the coffee. Really? Or else they just ignore your order. That is completely inappropriate, it should be a sign like "ask your coffee and dont wait it on the screen". Horrible organisation.

The lady at the toilet is absolutely inhuman she make u pay 1€ for using toilet meanwhile every other single country in mcdonalds u can just use it with the recipe. And Even if u choose to pay she goes like “only cash”. Unbelievable

Great experience at McDonald’s Nieuwendijk! The prices were reasonable for central Amsterdam, and the staff provided friendly, efficient service. The Big Tasty wasn’t on the menu, but I tried the Arc Beef burger instead and it was delicious

McDonald's in the center but poorly managed. The food is delivered late and in a big mess. Not clean at all, there was even hair on the tables.

They charge you to enter the bathroom, even if you've already bought something.

This is unfortunately the worst and dirtiest McDonald's with the most unfriendly employees I have ever seen in the world! On top of that, I received the completely wrong order, and even when I pointed out the mistake, they were rude.

They make you wait too long when there are no customers. The staff are all unmotivated and the worst. And in proportion to this attitude, the quality is atrocious.

Unbelievable, a sergeant at the restroom entrance making sure everyone pays the euro. It should be free for customers.

The food was cold, we didn't get the right order, the staff wasn't great, and the toilet, which you pay €1 for, wasn't clean. On top of that, there was a mouse running around. Not a good experience.

Unfriendly staff! They mix up orders and don't speak a word of Dutch! There are mice running around the restaurant!

Compared to other McDonald's in the area, it's a bit quieter. The counter clerk, however, didn't seem particularly interested. This was also evident in the interaction.

Pay toilets even when eating in. Ordering service completely disorganized. Cold food.

McDonald's doesn't have a standard vegan option – most "meatless/vegetarian" products either contain dairy or eggs (cheese, mayonnaise) or are served with them. The McPlant comes closest. If you order it without cheese or mayonnaise, it becomes vegan (although authorities don't guarantee that traces of either are present).

It's a shame I can only give one star; this restaurant is a disaster. When your number appears on the screen, it takes another 10-15 minutes for your drink to be ready. The result: cold fries. Moreover, the staff barely speaks Dutch. Finally, they desperately don't know how to make a Big Mac; everything was mixed up before it was even served to customers.

At some point they are losing the quality they once had.

Terrible Mac...don't eat here, the fries were lukewarm and limp...the Big Mac was on a dry, stale bun! We will NEVER come here again.

Visited McDonald's at 11pm, saw a mouse walking around on the 1st floor. Disgusting.

The manager didn't add sauce to the burger and conducted the conversation in a manner inappropriate for his qualifications. I ask management to pay attention!!!

Would give it 0 stars if I could. They haven’t a clue what they are doing. Very rude staff after 15 mins went up to ask about my order which was just coffee. She took my receipt screwed it up and threw it away before saying ‘what’s your problem’ with the most screwed up face of disgust. Then told me I should have waited which I was and they cleared all the numbers after the person at the front was high off their rocker not able to do their job complete shambles! Don’t waste your time here they don’t like the English.

Grumpy workers, the food was okay, the fries came without salt and were inedible, and the woman at the counter was angry with everyone. I would never come back.

Absolutely ridiculous that you have to pay €1 per person to use the toilets even if you are a paying customer and bought food from McDonalds. I’ve traveled all over the world and never had to pay for a toilet at an establishment where I already purchased food or a drink.

The place is a mess, and there's no way to sit at a table (but that's also the customers' fault). The food is below average by MC standards.

I didn't get a receipt from the machine, and when I pointed it out to an employee, he said he'd take care of it, but he didn't. Besides, the food didn't taste as good as it does in Germany.

They have glutenfree Burger but only 1 i saw? Also when i picked my order she screams at me GLUTENFREE in a very awkward weird way. When i was there it was quite empty, more dirty than clean but it was fine.

August 19, 2025, 2:25 PM - Disorganized, I waited 25 minutes for two ice creams. When, after lunch, I asked the employee if I could use the receipt to go to the bathroom, she rudely replied that I had to pay €1. I asked her why, since honestly, this had never happened to me, and she then turned away without even bothering to answer. I understand the rules, but not the rudeness towards customers.

This McDonald’s was out of convenience for a meal we could trust to eat with allergies. We ordered chicken nuggets and fries. They tasted fine. Ketchup cost extra. 4 levels seemed amazing but so dirty everywhere. Garbage left on the tables, floors just left everywhere. Service was slow. Lots of room to eat and the view out the window was nice. Bathrooms cost money and that line was so long.

Complete chaos. There are handy screens showing which orders are ready, but unfortunately, the staff doesn't use this system (or doesn't use it properly). As a result, at busy times, 50 people are crammed together waiting for their orders. The order was incomplete, and the milkshakes were the wrong size/flavor. I had to go back to the crowd for straws.

Kenkergang; bad entrance. Citizens are better used as doorstops; they're incredibly tough. Service? Didn't see them, only heard them yelling.

Complete nonsense. We order at the kiosk to eat in and are given a number to pick up our order at the counter. We waited over 30 minutes for our order, even though our number had been displayed on the screen for over 15 minutes, indicating that the order was ready. We asked the staff questions, but no response... The staff member chanted numbers at will in the middle of a completely lost crowd who didn't understand their disastrous system. There was no correspondence between the number displayed on the screen and the number chanted by the staff. We'll leave you with a windfall... A disgrace. And the icing on the cake: they charged us €1 to go to the restroom!

Miserable staff forgot part of the order, then when prompted, provided food that was labelled as several hours past its discard time. Staff refuse to open toilets until midday!?

The manager is a short woman with brightly colored hair who allows herself to be rude to customers, tell them where to stand and be in a bad mood at the checkout... not a very good example for other employees

Worst McDonald’s ever, waited 20 minutes for a coffee which we never got, you had to pay to go to the bathroom which was disgusting. The lady taking the payment kept walking into the men’s bathroom and shouted at everyone.

It's a large space with up to three levels. I was passing by and bought something to use the restrooms. However, after paying, I realized it wasn't necessary to buy something, as they charge a separate fee for using the restrooms (€1). At night, the tables are cleaned nonexistent; everything is scattered.

It's just a McDonald's, and service depends on the individual employee. There were some friendly and some extremely unfriendly employees. The food also depends on the staff; sometimes everything looked great and was served quickly, sometimes everything was cold and looked accordingly.

Even those who eat have to pay for the bathroom. It costs 1 euro.

They make me pay €1 to go to the bathroom, even though one of the signs in small print says "not required." Meaning, if I just want to wash my hands after consuming something, I have to pay them to do it. I honestly don't think that's very normal. On top of that, the employee treated us like we'd robbed a bank when we asked her why we had to pay for the bathroom.

They did not open at the time they supouse to and the lady frok inside was very roud and dindt let us in at 07:00am. And we found a rat inside!!

The service was disappointing. The staff only spoke English, not a single word of Dutch. Orders were mixed up. The burger from the children's menu was completely disintegrated. Most of the staff were unfriendly, except for waitress Natalie, who tried to lighten the mood.

An average McDonalds, when you want something easy to order and collect whilst out and about in Amsterdam this is the place to go. Our orders were mixed up but the supervisor sorted out the issue promptly. A bit difficult for people to access with mobility issues and toilets are downstairs.

Awful service, rude staff and very long time of waiting. They didn’t even apologize for their fault and you feel guilty for coming there.

Lots of ordering stations, and upstairs floors with restrooms where you can sit. The only downside was that the fries were gone by evening. Never experienced that before.

There were quite a lot of people, but the wait was not long. It was hard to find a seat.

Besides the well-known food, the restrooms and their maintenance are particularly in need of improvement. The only enclosed toilet cubicle in the men's room was locked and didn't respond to repeated knocks. The cleaning staff also knocked again, but without response. Only after 15 minutes did the door open, and it turned out there was no one in the cubicle at all. Unfortunately, during that wait, all sorts of things went wrong, if you know what I mean. €80 in property damage was caused because the cubicle wasn't properly inspected and opened.

Hygiene was absolutely zero, far too few staff for such a busy weekend. You only want to receive money and not spend anything.

Large McDonald's near Dam Square. The large number of customers makes the wait very long.

It has bathrooms, which is a welcome addition when you're walking and sightseeing in the surrounding area. Excellent service!

McDonald’s Amsterdam delivers the usual fast-food taste you’d expect… no complaints there. The machine where we ordered food turned out NOT to have a functioning credit card terminal (it was not indicated as being out of service) so we were forced to line up again at the counter just to to pay. One must be aware that using the toilet isn’t free, even if you’ve purchased a meal. It feels (more than) a bit unfriendly and inconvenient, especially for tourists or families. In addition, the toilets are not even clean. There is no soap to wash your hands. The sign outside indicates that there is a baby changing station, when all they have to offer is the wet and narrow countertop beside the sink. Lastly, while the serving staff are kind and warm, the dining area is very dirty and unhygienic and you’re better off eating take out on the side walk. If I could give ZERO STARS for service and atmosphere, I would.
