Pay toilets even when eating in. Ordering service completely disorganized. Cold food.

McDonald's doesn't have a standard vegan option – most "meatless/vegetarian" products either contain dairy or eggs (cheese, mayonnaise) or are served with them. The McPlant comes closest. If you order it without cheese or mayonnaise, it becomes vegan (although authorities don't guarantee that traces of either are present).

It's a shame I can only give one star; this restaurant is a disaster. When your number appears on the screen, it takes another 10-15 minutes for your drink to be ready. The result: cold fries. Moreover, the staff barely speaks Dutch. Finally, they desperately don't know how to make a Big Mac; everything was mixed up before it was even served to customers.

At some point they are losing the quality they once had.

Terrible Mac...don't eat here, the fries were lukewarm and limp...the Big Mac was on a dry, stale bun! We will NEVER come here again.

Visited McDonald's at 11pm, saw a mouse walking around on the 1st floor. Disgusting.

The manager didn't add sauce to the burger and conducted the conversation in a manner inappropriate for his qualifications. I ask management to pay attention!!!

Would give it 0 stars if I could. They haven’t a clue what they are doing. Very rude staff after 15 mins went up to ask about my order which was just coffee. She took my receipt screwed it up and threw it away before saying ‘what’s your problem’ with the most screwed up face of disgust. Then told me I should have waited which I was and they cleared all the numbers after the person at the front was high off their rocker not able to do their job complete shambles! Don’t waste your time here they don’t like the English.

Classic food, but crowded restaurant.

Grumpy workers, the food was okay, the fries came without salt and were inedible, and the woman at the counter was angry with everyone. I would never come back.

Absolutely ridiculous that you have to pay €1 per person to use the toilets even if you are a paying customer and bought food from McDonalds. I’ve traveled all over the world and never had to pay for a toilet at an establishment where I already purchased food or a drink.

The place is a mess, and there's no way to sit at a table (but that's also the customers' fault). The food is below average by MC standards.

I didn't get a receipt from the machine, and when I pointed it out to an employee, he said he'd take care of it, but he didn't. Besides, the food didn't taste as good as it does in Germany.

They have glutenfree Burger but only 1 i saw? Also when i picked my order she screams at me GLUTENFREE in a very awkward weird way. When i was there it was quite empty, more dirty than clean but it was fine.

August 19, 2025, 2:25 PM - Disorganized, I waited 25 minutes for two ice creams. When, after lunch, I asked the employee if I could use the receipt to go to the bathroom, she rudely replied that I had to pay €1. I asked her why, since honestly, this had never happened to me, and she then turned away without even bothering to answer. I understand the rules, but not the rudeness towards customers.

Too crowded because it's on a busy street, the wait is a little longer than usual.

This McDonald’s was out of convenience for a meal we could trust to eat with allergies. We ordered chicken nuggets and fries. They tasted fine. Ketchup cost extra. 4 levels seemed amazing but so dirty everywhere. Garbage left on the tables, floors just left everywhere. Service was slow. Lots of room to eat and the view out the window was nice. Bathrooms cost money and that line was so long.

Complete chaos. There are handy screens showing which orders are ready, but unfortunately, the staff doesn't use this system (or doesn't use it properly). As a result, at busy times, 50 people are crammed together waiting for their orders. The order was incomplete, and the milkshakes were the wrong size/flavor. I had to go back to the crowd for straws.

Kenkergang; bad entrance. Citizens are better used as doorstops; they're incredibly tough. Service? Didn't see them, only heard them yelling.

Poor service, they don't give you what you ordered! Or they don't give half of it. When you ask them, they tell you they already gave it to you, and that's not the case!

Complete nonsense. We order at the kiosk to eat in and are given a number to pick up our order at the counter. We waited over 30 minutes for our order, even though our number had been displayed on the screen for over 15 minutes, indicating that the order was ready. We asked the staff questions, but no response... The staff member chanted numbers at will in the middle of a completely lost crowd who didn't understand their disastrous system. There was no correspondence between the number displayed on the screen and the number chanted by the staff. We'll leave you with a windfall... A disgrace. And the icing on the cake: they charged us €1 to go to the restroom!

Miserable staff forgot part of the order, then when prompted, provided food that was labelled as several hours past its discard time. Staff refuse to open toilets until midday!?

It's a large space with up to three levels. I was passing by and bought something to use the restrooms. However, after paying, I realized it wasn't necessary to buy something, as they charge a separate fee for using the restrooms (€1). At night, the tables are cleaned nonexistent; everything is scattered.

Worst McDonald’s ever, waited 20 minutes for a coffee which we never got, you had to pay to go to the bathroom which was disgusting. The lady taking the payment kept walking into the men’s bathroom and shouted at everyone.

The manager is a short woman with brightly colored hair who allows herself to be rude to customers, tell them where to stand and be in a bad mood at the checkout... not a very good example for other employees

It's just a McDonald's, and service depends on the individual employee. There were some friendly and some extremely unfriendly employees. The food also depends on the staff; sometimes everything looked great and was served quickly, sometimes everything was cold and looked accordingly.

Even those who eat have to pay for the bathroom. It costs 1 euro.

They make me pay €1 to go to the bathroom, even though one of the signs in small print says "not required." Meaning, if I just want to wash my hands after consuming something, I have to pay them to do it. I honestly don't think that's very normal. On top of that, the employee treated us like we'd robbed a bank when we asked her why we had to pay for the bathroom.

A mouse 🐀 ran up the stairs twice while I was eating.

The service was disappointing. The staff only spoke English, not a single word of Dutch. Orders were mixed up. The burger from the children's menu was completely disintegrated. Most of the staff were unfriendly, except for waitress Natalie, who tried to lighten the mood.

Coffee OK, toilet costs 1€ also for guests

They did not open at the time they supouse to and the lady frok inside was very roud and dindt let us in at 07:00am. And we found a rat inside!!

Awful service, rude staff and very long time of waiting. They didn’t even apologize for their fault and you feel guilty for coming there.

An average McDonalds, when you want something easy to order and collect whilst out and about in Amsterdam this is the place to go. Our orders were mixed up but the supervisor sorted out the issue promptly. A bit difficult for people to access with mobility issues and toilets are downstairs.

There were quite a lot of people, but the wait was not long. It was hard to find a seat.

Lots of ordering stations, and upstairs floors with restrooms where you can sit. The only downside was that the fries were gone by evening. Never experienced that before.

Besides the well-known food, the restrooms and their maintenance are particularly in need of improvement. The only enclosed toilet cubicle in the men's room was locked and didn't respond to repeated knocks. The cleaning staff also knocked again, but without response. Only after 15 minutes did the door open, and it turned out there was no one in the cubicle at all. Unfortunately, during that wait, all sorts of things went wrong, if you know what I mean. €80 in property damage was caused because the cubicle wasn't properly inspected and opened.

Hygiene was absolutely zero, far too few staff for such a busy weekend. You only want to receive money and not spend anything.

Large McDonald's near Dam Square. The large number of customers makes the wait very long.

It has bathrooms, which is a welcome addition when you're walking and sightseeing in the surrounding area. Excellent service!

McDonald’s Amsterdam delivers the usual fast-food taste you’d expect… no complaints there. The machine where we ordered food turned out NOT to have a functioning credit card terminal (it was not indicated as being out of service) so we were forced to line up again at the counter just to to pay. One must be aware that using the toilet isn’t free, even if you’ve purchased a meal. It feels (more than) a bit unfriendly and inconvenient, especially for tourists or families. In addition, the toilets are not even clean. There is no soap to wash your hands. The sign outside indicates that there is a baby changing station, when all they have to offer is the wet and narrow countertop beside the sink. Lastly, while the serving staff are kind and warm, the dining area is very dirty and unhygienic and you’re better off eating take out on the side walk. If I could give ZERO STARS for service and atmosphere, I would.

I find it incredible that as a customer and consuming in the establishment, they make you pay €1 more to go to the bathroom. Creepy.

I don't often review McDonald's, but this time the experience was overwhelmingly negative. Long wait times even though there were few customers, fries forgotten: the crew member gave them to me without any apology and with a suspicious look. The McFlurry is no longer available, but you can order it... Cash refunds from the manager who doesn't apologize either. Lots of refunds to be made, because the ice creams always appear on the kiosks. Poorly assembled burgers, very dirty dining rooms: fries and napkins on the floor, tables left dirty, with sauce, trash... Seats all over the place... In short. I ate at 10:50 p.m., maybe the staff was fed up, but the restaurant is supposed to close at 3:00 a.m.... We should keep going. One positive: the salad was plentiful and fresh! Thanks to the crew member who made it!

Once the order was delivered, I went to the table and noticed that some items were missing (salad and water). The table was not clean and there was a lot of dirt.

It has pay restrooms. Three floors. It's very spacious and goes fast.

We were assaulted by the toilet lady even though we paid the entrance fee. Unacceptable.

Card did not work, could not enter PIN and got a warning from my bank, and when wanted to pay at counter, staff looked at me with disregard and I had to ask politely and softly 3 times… bad attitude in service maybe works for McD. Full of invasive and stubborn beggars asking for money…a typical turist spot problem… 0.70 Euro for toilet, maybe give customer QR code or something and block others ? 0.70 Euro is not much money, still s a paying Customer I expect it to be free. Anyway, bad service will be what I will remember this place for..

A very dirty restaurant, food lying around everywhere, here we work without gloves or hairnets. Customers spitting on the floor next to us. Yuck

This is complete trash! The worker, an African American, did not let me go to the toilet, he told me how hard it is for him to work here and how he does not like how everyone goes to the toilet here in the center of Amsterdam... In short, complete trash

I had food poisoning from the food i ate here. I have been eating McDonald's food since i was a child and this never happened to me before. This place is absolutely the worst. I ate veggie mcchicken with fries, so I am so confused what could have happened with the meal was served to me. Terrible experience.

I would not recommend to anyone! The place is a health hazard and the employees do nothing. We saw a baby rat run across the tables at the top floor. Multiple times. It came from the toilets and hid under the tables. We went down and told the manager, who responded with “it’s fine don’t worry, we know about them, but we just let them be there” are you serious? That is the biggest health hazard for not just the many many customers but the employees as well. I guess they don’t care about decent hygiene and their customers wellbeing. Don’t go there when there’s actively rats on the 2nd floor.

Zero, avoid, very unpleasant staff. The credit card payment machine was broken and I didn't have any change to pay for the toilets, the gentleman refused us access. It's really incredible to experience this in Europe

I’m never setting foot in this place again. We came in the morning, paid for our food, and sat down. My boyfriend had just rested his head on the table for a moment because he was tired — not bothering anyone — and yet the staff rudely snapped at us like we were doing something wrong. Who do you think you are, talking to paying customers like that? If you can’t treat people with basic respect, maybe you shouldn’t be in this business. Thanks to your rude and unprofessional attitude, this place is now permanently off my list.

Hot sandwiches Service needs to be reviewed

Quite possibly the worst customer service, whilst on my travels of amsterdam. Was the only customer in the restaurant, had to wait 5 minutes for someone to acknowledge me. Floor was dirty, sticky, the tables hadn't been cleaned and the homeless were sleeping inside. The manager and staff have zero pride in how they look, and treat customers.

The only thing I eat at Mc Donalds is the Mac Muffin beef/egg they serve in the morning. And why review Mc Donalds? In this case I make an exception since I was suprised by the kindness of the lady at the counter. I normaly do not expect any kindness or service at Mc D. at all but she was very friendly and made me smile at 9 o'clock this morning.

I have been to many McDonalds in different countries. This one had the worst Big Mac I've ever had. No taste at all and steam-cooked like.

Food edible overseas since they cannot put the crap the USA is allowed in it for fillers and cheap grade. Busy venu so more employees needed. Interesting seating and annoyed that I had to pay to go to bathroom but had eaten there

The hottest mcdonald's ever! No AC during summer and you have to pay .70 euro for restroom even if you dine inside.

They don't even know how to make a burgers. Single tasty was only one shot of sauce, not only that there was only one slice of tomato.This should be 2shot of sauce and 2slice of tomatoes. We were there on 10.6.2025, they opened half an hour later. It says every day from 7:00, but they let us in at 7:30. The second floor was completely dirty. An hour after opening, a worker went there to clean and closed the entrance to the second floor, and there was a toilet there. And this toilet is for two McDonald's, the closest second McDonald's does not have a toilet. I wanted to go there, saying that I ate at the establishment and it is my right to go to the toilet here, but they still refused me. The worst McDonald's I have ever been to.

I always order the same but at this mcdonalds it Just tastes bad, bad quality. Try another Mcdonalds stay away from this one.

An hour of waiting for just 2 McFlurrys and 1 Coke, knowing I still haven't been served. When I asked at the reception desk, no one answered; it's mind-blowing. We had the same order number as another woman, complete nonsense. We ended up with completely melted McFlurrys and an undrinkable Coke, but of course, they didn't do anything. I absolutely do not recommend it; avoid it.

Worst McDonalds ever with a cashier woman with mega attitude. Pls teach your staff how to treat a customer. She got my order wrong (instead of the small I ordered she had billed a medium) and when I inquired gave me attitude saying I never mentioned the size. If the customer doesn’t mention the size does the cashier get to make the decision on what to bill them? Please teach your staff to be polite, bill the right items and be efficient in delivery. If I didn’t mention the size (though I told her what I want) shouldn’t she have asked me what size I want without billing what she wants. The order of two milkshakes and two ice creams took more than 15 mins. I had to show the bill and ask for it for them to start making it. Milkshake was subpar and too sugary.
