One of the best Indian restaurants in Amsterdam. I plan to visit this restaurant more than once during my visit to Amsterdam. Especially since it's very close to Rembrandtplein. Try it, you won't regret it—it will become your favorite restaurant.

I had a really bad experience! I ordered food for iftar delivery an hour in advance. First, there was a half-hour delay, and then it was canceled. I then called the store and got a snarky Indian man on the phone who claimed the food should have been delivered an hour ago and then hung up on me out of nowhere.

We were hungry and decided to try an Indian restaurant nearby. After ordering, both our drinks arrived in wet glasses, so we didn’t use them. When the side plates came, they looked oily, so we wiped them with tissue. The owner, who seemed to also be working as a waiter, approached and explained that they don’t wipe plates like street shops do because they use a dishwasher that washes at 80°C. His tone was unprofessional, which put us off, but since we were hungry, we ate. The portions were small, and we left shortly after.

This is an Indian restaurant located a short walk from Amsterdam Central Station towards Madame Tussauds Museum. I had my last meal of 2024 here alone. I got bitten because I kept eating western food. I ordered the deluxe course set menu! It comes with naan + sauce and tandoori chicken as a starter (this is really delicious), basmati rice + curry and lamb as a main dish (please choose between chicken or lamb), and even oyster skin for dessert. Beverages were not included, so I ordered a mango lassi separately, and the total cost was 41.45 euros. Looking at the price range, I initially expected that it wouldn't be a restaurant where I would go for a casual meal alone, but it turned out to be more authentic than I expected. All Westerners came in families and ate while saying good things, but I sat alone at the window seat and enjoyed the meal while watching the animation. I felt strange haha All employees are Indian. They treated us well in a friendly yet professional manner. No one noticed that an Asian woman came alone to a large restaurant. All she did was ask her a few times if it was delicious. It may have been a good fit for me because I don't have any aversion to spices, or it may have been because the set menu consisted of simple ingredients, but I don't think the spices were strong enough to be objectionable, just like Korean Deli Six? I think it's decent Indian food. Except the price is a bit outrageous... What I liked best was the restaurant atmosphere. It’s warm and has a strong Indian breeze. + The oyster skin is really delicious, so be sure to try it even if you don’t order the set menu!

First time in Amsterdam and we weren’t sure which of the neighboring Indian restaurants along this charming side street to try first. We opted for a crowd and menu selection over reviews (not sure why this place only has 4.2, it’s criminally underrated), and glad we did. Has possibly taken the top spot in my book of favorite Indian restaurants. Food was superb, staff was attentive, made my wife’s birthday special. Try the green chicken curry or the chicken tikka. So good. We’ll be back.

Happened to be again in Amsterdam last week. We had still memories of Memories of India restaurant. Out of 3 dinners we had 2 dinners here. Even better than last time. Food is great and service friendly. The owner is a very good singer. He sang a Bollywood song for us. It was my wife's birthday that day. We are from Delhi and felt like home at this place. I had no time to even eat, I make a booking with the fork, since I arrive the guys start with big pression that I had to ask at least to principal dishes, I told them that I wanted to start with stars… after that they get super agresive with me and I tell them ok, no problem I’m leaving I’m not hungry anymore but I will leave my review, they chase me and tried to hit me, what a awful moment I’m still scared, don’t go this place horrible situation

This is WARNING! Please do not go here and get abused by scammers. My partner and I wanted Indian food but weren’t that hungry, so we tried a new place offering 50% off via Fork. We ordered 1 appetizer, 1 curry, 1 garlic naan, and 1 rice, but the owner#1 said it wasn’t “enough” and forced us to order 2 curries minimum (odd, but fine). We realized the curries came with naan and rice, so we cancelled our side orders. The waiter laughed under his breath, making us uncomfortable. While waiting, owner #2 loudly burped nearby. Our food came and owner#1 had his thumb in the bowl touching the food. Afterward, he came to our table & pushed us to order drinks, claiming it was “the right thing to do” since we had a discount. He asked repeatedly, even after we declined. Eventually, my partner gave in, but I didn’t want one. The waiter kept pressing, making me feel very uncomfortable. He asked me another 6 times in the span of 20 minutes. When I told him that he is making me uncomfortable, he argued with me! I felt unsafe & shocked by the behaviour of the staff, which I think was the owner. Why do they treat customers like this? Edit in response to owners comment: And here’s where it gets even worse. During our meal, they went behind our backs and canceled our Fork reservation! Yes, they realized how disgustingly they had treated us and anticipated we’d leave a bad review, so they manipulated the system to hide our experience. Fortunately, we caught on and rebutted the cancellation on Fork, and it’s now visible for all to see (we went on September 18th). This restaurant has no respect for its customers, blatantly manipulates the booking system to cover up their terrible service, and harasses diners into spending more than they intended. This is not just a terrible restaurant—it’s a scam. They use Fork to lure people in with false promises of discounts, then cancel your booking to avoid negative feedback. AVOID THIS PLACE unless you enjoy being disrespected and scammed.

Ate Indian food for the first time. In our opinion, terribly salty and an excess of certain spices. But that's on us! Friendly and attentive service, a warning is given if dishes may be spicy (which wasn't too bad). Two tables outside with a view of the Rembrandtplein nightlife crowd passing by.

This is our favorite Indian restaurant in Amsterdam! Food is always delicious, staff is super friendly and fair price.. Make sure to try their Naan with mango chutney and Chicken Tikka Masala.

Just made a reservation through an offer via the fork. Upon arrival it becomes clear that fish is not included in the discount promotion. Very disappointing as nothing is stated about this in advance or online. I'm a pescatarian so that's the end of it. If I had known this, I wouldn't have made a reservation here.

The food, the vibes and the ambience is just so nice. I must say you made our 10th anniversary really special yesterday with the special song and great food.. I had the best Indian food and the softest lamb in Europe for sure. Highly recommended. Thank you for the special song request fulfilled by Mr Sharma, you are as good as Mr. Kumar sanu ji.

This restaurant was absolutely great. I went with a few girlfriends. We just had their as an appetizer. I had 2 of their specialty drinks. They were well made and delicious! The food arrived timely and you could tell it was freshly made! Our food was absolutely scrumptious ! Big portions, I was full, happy and still finished my plate I would definitely recommend and return.

First of all, the taste is very good. You can eat the curry warm all the way through, and the portion is generous.

Enjoyed during a visit that was too short; Not looked for and yet found! Enjoyed Chena Chat and Chicken Balti, among others. The Samosa was a bit thick with dough. We will definitely return here for further exploration of the different dishes.

A random pick for an Indian restaurant that turned out to be too good. A warm, classy restaurant that serves hot food (an oasis in the middle of the desert, I mean between apple pie and cold cheese). One of the best Indian restaurants in Amsterdam with fair prices and a good collection of Darjeeling tea. Try butter chicken, chicken jalfrezi, chicken salad and samosa (Bengali samosa). I was really shocked with the experience that i had here on last night. We ordered some drinks with our food and the drinks was Mango lassi& Mango juice. Mango lassi was really nice and sweet but when i tried the juice it’s tastes exactly like the bottle mango juice which we can get it in India. And i asked about that to Manager/boss and he replied that ‘It’s fresh mango juice but few minutes after he came towards me and replied with a awful attitude that - ‘Ya, it’s bottle juice,it’s Maaza juice’ ; and after that he started to murmuring and staring at us most of the time. We felt like we were having the food for free because after that question they treated us like homeless. Maaza juice is normal mango bottle drink available in most of the Asian store for less that €2.50 and for a small glass of that drink here they’re charging €5.95. It’s quite embarrassing , atleast charge more price in the menu but give good food to the customers and please learn how to treat customers because we’re paying for everything.

Found the take away expensive but hope it’d be worth it… well; it was a bit mixed: the lamb bhuna was very nice but the chicken tikka was terrible; it was not freshly cooked at all, the chicken tasted old and you could tell it’d been sitting around for hours, not how BBQ chicken tikka should be at all. The Garlic Naan bread was not great either. Overall ok as the lamb curry was so good but I don’t think it was worth the price tag with such a poor chicken tikka.

Came quite late at night looking for a place to eat and entered this place. The reviews weren’t too bad however I should have listened to the reviews about the waiters making them feel rushed to eat. Because as delicious as the food was, the pressure to finish up eating and leaving was crazy. Every second someone was side eyeing us, walking past slowly ready to take anything that was emptied. Second drinks weren’t offered. We were asked if everything was okay with the food before it entered our mouths. Like I said, the food was delicious however the service really let us down. I understand we came an over an hour before closing but if they didn’t want us there, they should have just said no. It didn’t help that we were seated at the uttermost corner as well.

We went for dinner upon recommendation. We went late in the evening on a weekday, so the place was empty. We liked the food very much. Thanks to the employees, they were very interested. They explained each dish one by one. There are usually meat dishes on the menu, but their salads were also very successful.
