Awesome vegan food, fresh, tasty and super nourishing. Just what I needed after a 150 mile ride into Amsterdam.

This place has the regular Dutch Asian restaurant problem that it's not spicy enough. However, what makes it unacceptable is that this is a MALATANG place! Spice should be the showrunner here. Is anyone even aware what MALA (麻辣) mean? It means your mouth should be numb after eating the food. At least give the option, spice in the most spicy option is basically non-existent. Also it is very expensive for vegetarian malatang. Just saying, you shouldn't ask for a fortune for the 2 EUR per kg tofu you offer.

We went based on Google reviews and it was a success. Wonderful, but usually crowded so keep that in mind. We were served by two very nice and super friendly guys who informed us about how creating your own ramen worked. Totally recommended site

Delicious! The staff were wonderful and explained the process very clearly for building your own soup. The soup was delicious with a lovely range of options, all of which were fresh and satisfying, completely vegetarian and vegan friendly. If I'm back in amsterdam I'll be looking out for this place again 😁. They also provided blankets for the outside tables to keep comfortable.

Great concept basically you help yourself to up to 500g of food. It's all veggie so no meat or fish. Then decide your base. I had miso. Staff were really helpful and attentive. Bit of a hidden gem.

Haven't had such a good meal in a long time! Everything is correct. Relaxed informal atmosphere, very friendly staff and attractive decor. And then also super tasty and fresh food. Win-win! I'll be back soon!

Lovely and Delicious Noodle Soup Restaurant. Completely Vegetarian and Vegan Friendly. Service is very friendly and welcoming.

Great concept, super tasty soup bases and great service. The concept of doing the bowl with your preferred ingredients and then choosing one of the 3 options of soup is super innovative and spot on! The Sodas made by them are also tasty and a great option to accompany the food.

The pickled Shiitake mushrooms are INCREDIBLE! And the Savory Japanese Miso is fantastic. It is really easy to overboard with too much food, as you scoop it on yourself. They warn you, and you’ll still do it. To the point where you may not need noodles at all, and just go for a lot of mushrooms. There’s no meat, it’s all vegetarian or vegan.

The food quality is excellent, with fresh ingredients and bold, authentic flavors. The service is quick and friendly, and the cozy atmosphere adds to the overall experience.

Okey guys this place is officially one of my highlights from the Amsterdam trip. The food was sooo good that we kinda overestimated our hanger 😅 But you can always pack it for later! Also the server (and I think he was the owner) was so friendly and helpful! You have to try this place!

An original concept. A great night out experience. Friendly staff. Great ambiance. On the outskirts of central Amsterdam, so a more relaxed atmosphere. Basically you make your own bowl with original ingredients and broths and they cook it. Just watch out for the grams so that you pay and eat what you want. You can sit inside or outside.

I've had lunch here twice now and went home with a full belly. You can eat delicious ramen and you have everything in your own hands. You can add your own vegetables. The only danger is that my eyes are too big. Fortunately, you can also ask for a doggy bag. Staff is very friendly and the music creates a good atmosphere.

So happy with this acquisition! Really great. I want it every week. And it's on my own street, yay. I won't leave any stars out, but why are they closed on Sunday and Monday evenings?! Stand in front of a closed door so often!

So expensive for egg dishes no meat no chicken and we paid 22 euro each person you will regret after eat from here,and let’s add some point that bc their answer as vegetarian restaurant they are VERY EXPENSIVE I eat 2 eggs for 22 euro if you and if it was so good I didn’t even come here and write some bad reviews I write because when you pay decent or not 22 euro for some meal I AM EXPECTING VERY DELICIOUS meal but that you re not giving sorry for honest opinions have a nice day

Returning regularly because this place is truly a gem, especially for someone with food allergies. The Tom Kha base is gluten-free (GF), and every option is absolutely delightful. What I love most is the option to customize my soup exactly to my taste - it’s a dream come true for someone who often has to request changes to dishes. The food is tasty and the staff is incredibly warm and welcoming :)

Cozy place perfect to enjoy an amazing ramen! Different from other place you can make you own ramen choosing how much and which ingredients you want to add. The staff were very attentive and friendly! I totally recommend.

Saw the restaurant in a local Amsterdam food blog posting and went to try it. Absolutely great quality of food! I travel to Shenzhen, China frequently for work and some of my local colleagues take me to their home for family dinners and this ramen with the Sichuan is the closest I can get to being in China and enjoying with local experts. A big compliment to the manager and the chef for the fresh quality of ingredients as well a wide range, including some stiff I did not see outside of Shenzhen. Definitely come back again. And again. What a cute little place with amazing food and welcoming staff. Lots of vegan options and the best thing is, you can choose your own ingredients and soup-base which creates endless combinations, and you will never get bored. I wish now that I’d live in Amsterdam and could eat here all the time

Nice Gimmick but the Ramen is not good enough.

Loved the concept of choosing your food and all the plant based foods. The staff were nice and friendly. We ended up having to order our food to take away and it was a shame to see the amount of plastic being used. There’s so many alternatives to plastics now and it would have been nice to see some of these concepts being used.

Disgusting 🤮 In which law that I cannot give a bad review? Because I only want people to avoid those terrible places like your disgusting restaurant. If you can’t bear a bad review, maybe you should stop running a restaurant.

Advice! In this restaurant you prepare your own ramen, choose fresh ingredients from a counter and they weigh it and then cook it. The PRICE of ramen depends on the weight, so choose in moderation, keep in mind that they cut the ingredients for cooking so if you choose too much it will end up being a bowl for 2 people (but if you don't finish your dish you can take it home ) The person in charge at the counter is very friendly and explains patiently, I recommend listening to his suggestions 😅

This isn’t authentic Malatang—it’s some kind of fusion attempt that misses the mark entirely. No original flavor whatsoever. If you actually know what Malatang is supposed to taste like, you’d get my disappointment. Not shocked by the high reviews though—people love an “interesting” concept, even if it’s been around in other Asian countries for decades. Limited selection, and the taste is, well, pretty basic. At least the staffs are great🫶🏻

Very cosy place! Perfect for cold weather - a creative localization of a most popular street food Malayan, flavorful broth ( drinkable) and a great variety of ingredients! Highly recommended if you are up for fresh vegetables and rich broth 👌

My girlfriend and I live right next door, but we've only just visited and we're absolutely blown away by the flavors, the freshness of the ingredients, the atmosphere and the very friendly service! We've been looking for such tasty and bold vegan Asian flavors in Amsterdam for years and we're so happy we discovered them 🤩

This first thing you get there is a very lovely "Welcome" from the host... Than, you can enjoy good food, nice music, and comfortable atmosphere. 🍄💚

Honest Review: Went to Mogu last Sept 6, 2024, and had the savoury Japanese miso soup which I find it super comforting especially during the rainy/cold season. An offerings of Clean, MSG Free and the most freshest ingredients you can find serve in a bowl of warm and extremely delicious soup of your choice which is very rare with the restaurants nowadays. The Concept of the restaurant was explained in a brief yet detailed way to fully maximize the malatang experience. Mogo can be considered as a destination that one can has to cross out when in Amsterdam, or when in the Netherlands. Definitely worth a visit, it may be my first time trying it but definitely will not be the last. See you very soon! Rain or Shine, Mogu is a must!!🥰

I absolutely love Mogu! This place lets you serve yourself as much as you want and with all the ingredients that you want. This is a picky eater’s dream as I was able to pick how much I want of anything and they still pack a punch with their different broths. The people are also awesome and super helpful. The only downside is that they’re not open everyday for me to grab more meals 😂

Delicious soup, and the process of picking your ingredients out is very fun! I do think it is overpriced, eventhough the bowls are huuuge! I paid 26€ for my soup, and despite the size... at a normal spot it would be like 18€. Very fun and delicious though. A bit out of the way but right by the tram station, so we'll reachable.

A very nice and warm setting in rainy weather. Remarkable welcome with all the necessary explanations concerning the system: you choose what food you want and you pay by weight! The broth is delicious and the service adorable! Thanks to the whole team 🧡

It was definitely a highlight of our trip to amsterdam! You can choose from so many fresh ingredients (vegetarian/vegan), and the soups are extremely tasty! The staff is fabulous. We highly recommend going there!

Great place to pick a bowl, grab ingredients and choose soup base

The taste of the food is not delicious, very bad. The taste is very bad according to the reviews. Twenty euros. The taste is not original. Personally, I think it should make foreigners eat it because of the bland + sour taste. I don't know what sour is. (They intended to make it sour, not spoiled.) We ordered a very spicy Szechuan soup, but it didn't have a spicy taste and had just the slightest hint of chili. Very disappointed. In the restaurant, there was only a kitchen. All the waitresses were foreigners, there were no Asians. But the employees are smiling and cute. Good service to everyone. But the food is unforgiving. And the shop is next to a motorcycle shop, sitting at a table outside and hearing the sound of motorcycles all the time, very loud.

Got a large group of us in very last minute and were very accommodating, highly recommend :)

Excellent atmosphere and very generous staff. We were running late for our booking and they were kind enough to accommodate us even 30 minutes before the kitchen closed. The food portions were very large and perfect after a busy day. Plenty of options for food and the staff were very accomodating in helping our group to think about what would work best in terms of ingredients, soups, and portion sizes. If you are ever in Amsterdam please consider this local business; their customer service and food is a testament to the creativity and richness of this wonderful country.

Great place! You can choose whatever you like (including toppings) and they prepare it on the spot. I had the spicy Sichuan broth and it was great with depth of flavour. And on top of that the service is friendly and attentive!

Super nice hospitality. Putting together your own food is also cool and fun. The soup was really spicy! I like to eat it, but it was too spicy for me. I haven't tasted anything else. Personally, I would have liked the vegetables to be softer and cut smaller. The stems of leaves were very hard and inedible. Otherwise it was really worth an experience! 👍🏼
