MOGU Malatang in Landlust

I love this place and I’m so pleased it’s so close to me. The concept is fabulous, it’s all vegetarian and the quality of the food is top notch. The staff are super friendly and capable and the atmosphere is lovely.

I was just on my way home when I saw this place across the street, it had a welcoming vibe and I was thinking what to eat. Cozy, small, nice music. It's my first time here, and I will definitely save as a favourite. I had the sechuan pepper, which was perfectly spiced and had a great flavour! The selection of drinks were limited, but nothing to be worried about. Staff was friendly and helpful. Recommended for sure!

I was a bit unclear on how it worked but I was kindly instructed on the system and all the ingredients. I’ll become a regular :)

Two thumbs way up! One of the best vegetarian soups/meals of my 69 years. The mushroom gyozas were fabulous! I had the Sichuan soup - it was exciting, vibrant an exciting melange of tastes! Just wonderful!

Fun concept and great food. The broths are super flavorfull, and there are many interesting ingredients. The people were also very welcoming. The biggest downsides are that it is quite pricy, and it was quite loud when we were there. But the food and staff were so good that we still give it a 5/5 :)

The concept is genius, you get to make your own ramen with the ingredients you like. It was super tasty! I’d recommend adding a bit more soup and fewer noodles if it’s your first time. This place honestly made me wish I could stay in Amsterdam just to eat here all the time! 🍜

it's unexpected that it's a vegan restaurant. If you want some meat then that's not a good choice. I chose the Chinese Sichuan soup base, but tbh it's not so authentic. Anyway, I like the warm service and fresh food there.

Great spot, we went 40 people there on a study trip and called the place up the day before, making reservation was no problem. Really nice and amazing food!

Good selection of soups: broths, ingredients and topping. Quite a nice place, but when busy it gets loud. Also, the door was kept open what made us feel a bit cold.

After receive a very lovely 'Welcome' from the host when you get in, you can enjoy good food, nice music, and comfortable atmosphere 🍄💚

The tom kha kai soup base is especially fantastic. At least as good as in Thailand itself.

Ok the spicy sour Chinese soup broth SLAPPED. You get this giant plastic bowl to add in all of your ingredients, then pick a broth at the end. Honestly the soup was the perfect amount of hot and sour, so delicious. Good quality ingredients as well, Mogu has a large variety of tofus and seaweed which I wasn’t expecting. I’ll definitely come back here again! I’m always going to crave this spicy & sour broth now. And to top it all off, we ordered the matcha and taro mochi. They were perfect bite sized desserts. Wonderful end to a wonderful heart warming meal.

DIY delicious Ramen Soups with mushrooms and vegetables. Choose yourself, they cook it for you: voila! The staff was extremely nice, too.

The Malatang here is really delicious! As a Chinese, I find the flavor very authentic — it truly tastes like real Sichuan. The only small downside is that it’s all vegetarian, with no meat options, and I personally enjoy having meat. Also, if you don’t like too sour flavors, you can ask the owner to add less vinegar — that way the spiciness comes out more fragrant and flavorful. The owner is a local but studied in China, super friendly and welcoming. Overall, a great experience and I highly recommend it. I’ll definitely come back again on my next trip!

This is a vegetarian restaurant. I must admit I misunderstood it initially and only realized it after ordering. The food was quite delicious, though. It's excellent for vegetarians. To get more protein, I had to go for the barbecue afterward. I hope they'll offer other meat toppings in the future.

Super nice spot! Food was delicious and broth was nice. Only reason for the one star less was that I wish there were more various options; bean curd sheets or fried doughsticks, etc. Dont get me wrong, lots of veggies but more options would make it perfect. Will definitely be back!

The food was absolutely delicious! You get to choose your own ingredients for the soup, and everything is fresh and high quality. The service was pleasant, and the soup turned out to be incredibly tasty. Two people were completely satisfied with just a 600-gram bowl!

I’m so sorry to say but this is the worst Malatang I’ve ever had around few cities in Europe. It is sooo expensive. I buy malatang in many places and they all never charge for the soup and this place charge for 6e for the soup. So when it’s 3.5e/100g it’s not including the cooking. All Malatang places I’ve ever been, the price for 100g is ALWAYS included for the cooking. So I would say this is sooo expensive. And I spent 1 hour to come to this place and only found out that this is vegetarian restaurant :((( So I’m so sorry to say I don’t enjoy everything. I don’t enjoy the price, the ingredients (only vegetables) and the broth is alsoo not nice at alllll. It’s SOOOO OILYYYY.

The best malatang, especially if you are vegetarian! Very fresh ingredients, the soup bases are amazing and the staff is super friendly! It's right in front of a tram station so you can get there easily. Highly recommend!

Comfort food is hot and soupy, especially for the Asian girlie. This place serves ‘western spicy’ and ‘Chinese spicy’ options. Go for the ‘Chinese spicy’ if you are into real mala soup. It’s so flavourful. Only wish if they serve meat… need my protein 😅

This place has the regular Dutch Asian restaurant problem that it's not spicy enough. However, what makes it unacceptable is that this is a MALATANG place! Spice should be the showrunner here. Is anyone even aware what MALA (麻辣) mean? It means your mouth should be numb after eating the food. At least give the option, spice in the most spicy option is basically non-existent. Also it is very expensive for vegetarian malatang. Just saying, you shouldn't ask for a fortune for the 2 EUR per kg tofu you offer.

Delicious! The staff were wonderful and explained the process very clearly for building your own soup. The soup was delicious with a lovely range of options, all of which were fresh and satisfying, completely vegetarian and vegan friendly. If I'm back in amsterdam I'll be looking out for this place again 😁. They also provided blankets for the outside tables to keep comfortable.

Great concept basically you help yourself to up to 500g of food. It's all veggie so no meat or fish. Then decide your base. I had miso. Staff were really helpful and attentive. Bit of a hidden gem.

Great concept, super tasty soup bases and great service. The concept of doing the bowl with your preferred ingredients and then choosing one of the 3 options of soup is super innovative and spot on! The Sodas made by them are also tasty and a great option to accompany the food.

The pickled Shiitake mushrooms are INCREDIBLE! And the Savory Japanese Miso is fantastic. It is really easy to overboard with too much food, as you scoop it on yourself. They warn you, and you’ll still do it. To the point where you may not need noodles at all, and just go for a lot of mushrooms. There’s no meat, it’s all vegetarian or vegan.

The food quality is excellent, with fresh ingredients and bold, authentic flavors. The service is quick and friendly, and the cozy atmosphere adds to the overall experience.

An original concept. A great night out experience. Friendly staff. Great ambiance. On the outskirts of central Amsterdam, so a more relaxed atmosphere. Basically you make your own bowl with original ingredients and broths and they cook it. Just watch out for the grams so that you pay and eat what you want. You can sit inside or outside.

Okey guys this place is officially one of my highlights from the Amsterdam trip. The food was sooo good that we kinda overestimated our hanger 😅 But you can always pack it for later! Also the server (and I think he was the owner) was so friendly and helpful! You have to try this place!

I've had lunch here twice now and went home with a full belly. You can eat delicious ramen and you have everything in your own hands. You can add your own vegetables. The only danger is that my eyes are too big. Fortunately, you can also ask for a doggy bag. Staff is very friendly and the music creates a good atmosphere.

So happy with this acquisition! Really great. I want it every week. And it's on my own street, yay. I won't leave any stars out, but why are they closed on Sunday and Monday evenings?! Stand in front of a closed door so often!

Returning regularly because this place is truly a gem, especially for someone with food allergies. The Tom Kha base is gluten-free (GF), and every option is absolutely delightful. What I love most is the option to customize my soup exactly to my taste - it’s a dream come true for someone who often has to request changes to dishes. The food is tasty and the staff is incredibly warm and welcoming :)

Saw the restaurant in a local Amsterdam food blog posting and went to try it. Absolutely great quality of food! I travel to Shenzhen, China frequently for work and some of my local colleagues take me to their home for family dinners and this ramen with the Sichuan is the closest I can get to being in China and enjoying with local experts. A big compliment to the manager and the chef for the fresh quality of ingredients as well a wide range, including some stiff I did not see outside of Shenzhen. Definitely come back again. And again. What a cute little place with amazing food and welcoming staff. Lots of vegan options and the best thing is, you can choose your own ingredients and soup-base which creates endless combinations, and you will never get bored. I wish now that I’d live in Amsterdam and could eat here all the time

Nice Gimmick but the Ramen is not good enough.

Loved the concept of choosing your food and all the plant based foods. The staff were nice and friendly. We ended up having to order our food to take away and it was a shame to see the amount of plastic being used. There’s so many alternatives to plastics now and it would have been nice to see some of these concepts being used.

Disgusting 🤮 In which law that I cannot give a bad review? Because I only want people to avoid those terrible places like your disgusting restaurant. If you can’t bear a bad review, maybe you should stop running a restaurant.

Advice! In this restaurant you prepare your own ramen, choose fresh ingredients from a counter and they weigh it and then cook it. The PRICE of ramen depends on the weight, so choose in moderation, keep in mind that they cut the ingredients for cooking so if you choose too much it will end up being a bowl for 2 people (but if you don't finish your dish you can take it home ) The person in charge at the counter is very friendly and explains patiently, I recommend listening to his suggestions 😅
