Great food but quickly very pricey. Don't come here again, it's a shame.

We finally had dinner here on our last evening in the area. What a great tent. One of the tastiest ramen I've eaten here. Super friendly service and gluten-free options. Highly recommend.

What a cute little place with amazing food and welcoming staff. Lots of vegan options and the best thing is, you can choose your own ingredients and soup-base which creates endless combinations, and you will never get bored. I wish now that I’d live in Amsterdam and could eat here all the time

Nice Gimmick but the Ramen is not good enough.

Loved the concept of choosing your food and all the plant based foods. The staff were nice and friendly. We ended up having to order our food to take away and it was a shame to see the amount of plastic being used. There’s so many alternatives to plastics now and it would have been nice to see some of these concepts being used.

Disgusting 🤮 In which law that I cannot give a bad review? Because I only want people to avoid those terrible places like your disgusting restaurant. If you can’t bear a bad review, maybe you should stop running a restaurant.

Advice! In this restaurant you prepare your own ramen, choose fresh ingredients from a counter and they weigh it and then cook it. The PRICE of ramen depends on the weight, so choose in moderation, keep in mind that they cut the ingredients for cooking so if you choose too much it will end up being a bowl for 2 people (but if you don't finish your dish you can take it home ) The person in charge at the counter is very friendly and explains patiently, I recommend listening to his suggestions 😅

This isn’t authentic Malatang—it’s some kind of fusion attempt that misses the mark entirely. No original flavor whatsoever. If you actually know what Malatang is supposed to taste like, you’d get my disappointment. Not shocked by the high reviews though—people love an “interesting” concept, even if it’s been around in other Asian countries for decades. Limited selection, and the taste is, well, pretty basic. At least the staffs are great🫶🏻

Honest Review: Went to Mogu last Sept 6, 2024, and had the savoury Japanese miso soup which I find it super comforting especially during the rainy/cold season. An offerings of Clean, MSG Free and the most freshest ingredients you can find serve in a bowl of warm and extremely delicious soup of your choice which is very rare with the restaurants nowadays. The Concept of the restaurant was explained in a brief yet detailed way to fully maximize the malatang experience. Mogo can be considered as a destination that one can has to cross out when in Amsterdam, or when in the Netherlands. Definitely worth a visit, it may be my first time trying it but definitely will not be the last. See you very soon! Rain or Shine, Mogu is a must!!🥰

I absolutely love Mogu! This place lets you serve yourself as much as you want and with all the ingredients that you want. This is a picky eater’s dream as I was able to pick how much I want of anything and they still pack a punch with their different broths. The people are also awesome and super helpful. The only downside is that they’re not open everyday for me to grab more meals 😂

Delicious soup, and the process of picking your ingredients out is very fun! I do think it is overpriced, eventhough the bowls are huuuge! I paid 26€ for my soup, and despite the size... at a normal spot it would be like 18€. Very fun and delicious though. A bit out of the way but right by the tram station, so we'll reachable.

Excellent atmosphere and very generous staff. We were running late for our booking and they were kind enough to accommodate us even 30 minutes before the kitchen closed. The food portions were very large and perfect after a busy day. Plenty of options for food and the staff were very accomodating in helping our group to think about what would work best in terms of ingredients, soups, and portion sizes. If you are ever in Amsterdam please consider this local business; their customer service and food is a testament to the creativity and richness of this wonderful country.

Great place to pick a bowl, grab ingredients and choose soup base

The taste of the food is not delicious, very bad. The taste is very bad according to the reviews. Twenty euros. The taste is not original. Personally, I think it should make foreigners eat it because of the bland + sour taste. I don't know what sour is. (They intended to make it sour, not spoiled.) We ordered a very spicy Szechuan soup, but it didn't have a spicy taste and had just the slightest hint of chili. Very disappointed. In the restaurant, there was only a kitchen. All the waitresses were foreigners, there were no Asians. But the employees are smiling and cute. Good service to everyone. But the food is unforgiving. And the shop is next to a motorcycle shop, sitting at a table outside and hearing the sound of motorcycles all the time, very loud.

An original concept. A great night out experience. Friendly staff. Great ambiance. On the outskirts of central Amsterdam, so a more relaxed atmosphere. Basically you make your own bowl with original ingredients and broths and they cook it. Just watch out for the grams so that you pay and eat what you want. You can sit inside or outside.

wouldn’t recommend to a chinese who have tasted authentic malatang. We tried the Sichuan spicy and Miso soup bases. Both were too salty and over priced

Great place! You can choose whatever you like (including toppings) and they prepare it on the spot. I had the spicy Sichuan broth and it was great with depth of flavour. And on top of that the service is friendly and attentive!

Super nice hospitality. Putting together your own food is also cool and fun. The soup was really spicy! I like to eat it, but it was too spicy for me. I haven't tasted anything else. Personally, I would have liked the vegetables to be softer and cut smaller. The stems of leaves were very hard and inedible. Otherwise it was really worth an experience! 👍🏼

Best meal we've had while in Europe. Party of 5 (including 3 picky children), there was plenty of seating. We chose the option of selecting which ingredients we wanted, and then they cook it, and add your choice of broth. Staff was very friendly and patient. Food was out of this world delicious. Even my husband who eats meat with every meal, and was apprehensive about it being vegan loved it! My only tip would be to weigh your bowl often. My bowl weighed 300g before cooking and it was very filling. I got the Miso broth and it was had no spice to it. There are toppings you can add for spice, if you'd like. Perfect for everyone to customize exactly what they wanted. Highly recommend.

Our experience here was really nice. The concept is quite interesting, you take a bowl, choose the toppings and broth you want, then just wait for your noodles to be served😉 we tried all the broth options and they were all flavourful, topping were fresh and of good quality. Staff were so nice and took good care of customers ;) overall would come back

For my taste, the miso was a bit too salty and too 'strong' or 'thick'. My friend said it tasted like miso soup when you make it at home. It does taste a lot different in an all you can eat restaurant, which are a bit lighter and thinner in taste. I don't know which one belongs, but it was a little too much miso paste for me. The shiitaki mushroom was so dry inside and thickly sliced ​​that I couldn't bite through it (because they probably use dehydrated/dried shiitaki). Cute and fun concept, but there wasn't much choice. De service was wel heel nice!

I only think this place should be bigger since it was quite packed, but when you make good food people come to eat it, which is really rather an understandable consequence than a critique.
