I was told that it was an amazing restaurant but we were extremely disappointed. Food was really not good , the flavours were flat and the menu was just all over the place . Service was really weird and awkward . I have no idea if it was just a bad luck for us that night but it was clearly not our taste.

Went here on a Wednesday. The food was delicious! The service was very good. Shout out to Rafi for the good service the entire evening.

Umami by Han Amsterdam – Chicken Katsu Delicious food! The chicken katsu was perfectly prepared. The service was friendly and attentive, and the restaurant itself was clean and atmospheric. The prices were very reasonable, especially considering the quality. Despite its central location just 5 minutes from Leidseplein, it was surprisingly quiet and not full of tourists. Definitely a place I would like to come back to!

Our absolute favorite restaurant in Amsterdam. In terms of food it was the highlight of our honeymoon. We came TWICE: both lunch and dinner were 10/10. The limoncello spritz was amazing and our food was what dreams are made of. So many good vegetarian options, as well. Would recommend this spot to everyone who visits the city.

I love everything about this place, atmosphere is very pleasant, it is not too crowded and the food is absolutely amazing. Pork ramen is one of the best i have ever tried, creamy, delicious, comforting and not heavy at all!

Rizwan was electric today. Great service from him. His colleague ravi was incredible as well. Myrto gave great service from the bar. Denise was very friendly as well. Quyen made an incredible sea bass and I highly recommend it.

Great food, social dining is a great concept that allows you to try a lot on the menu and want to come back for the rest ;) Skinny Yuzu Highball recommended for drinks!

Rizwan was exceptionall, he had wine knowledge that was out of this world and could sell an asahi to a Japanese barley farmer. Food was potentially the best seafood (oysters) we have ever had. Best birthday ever!!!

A tough review to write. The food is very good Asian fusion — but the service and experience was PAINFUL. There was no coordination in terms of timing of the courses. I also put in drink orders that took upwards of 30 minutes and two reminders to receive. I also observed other tables with similar problems with attentiveness. We went during peak dinner hour (8-8:15), and it was chaotic when we arrived. Between the patio, front dinning room, back dinning room and private room in back, I feel this restaurant is just not set up to properly service the tables they have. The staff themselves also seemed frustrated — which didn’t help. My advice to patrons: book during off peak hours. My advice to the restaurant: it’s about the overall experience. Your food is very good… have a bit less tables and/or you need more staff.

We went for the seafood menu with wine pairing. Very nice that you can also do the wine pairing for 1 or 2 courses. You are not immediately stuck with all courses. The atmosphere was great, staff great and the food, every dish we were surprised by the flavors that came together. The wine pairing was a super nice addition where everything was explained at the table. Recommended!

I have mixed feelings about this place - some dishes were very good, but some were just so so. We ordered two lunch menus and chose: beef, beetroot salmon, tuna & eel, and King Bolleet. I liked beef the most, the rest was 3/5 for me. As for the second course: chicken, sui mai, curry prawns, and eggplant beef. All of them, except from the prawns were 5/5, the prawns were way too sweet for my taste. Also, we had to wait pretty long for everything. And were was the eel in the "tuna & eel" dish?

We enjoyed it so much! The swear in the restaurant was very nice & the staff super nice. ❤️ The dishes we got on the table were 10/10 really delicious! ⭐️ I definitely recommend this restaurant. 🦞

Best seafood and best Asian fusion in Netherlands. This is the second time I’ve come (but to a different venue) and it has blown my mind every time. You can’t order a bad meal here - even the simplest dish of bread and dipping oil is incredible. Wonderful value for price and always friendly service.

We had the social dining menu and the food was phenomenal. All the dishes were unique and well crafted. Atmosphere was relaxed and quiet. The staff was friendly and punctual. Highly recommend this as a stop. Easily the best meal for the value I have ever had.

Was a very nice experience! The dishes were delicious and varied, with surprising flavor combinations and a nice balance between Asian influences. The quality of the food was high and the presentation very well cared for. The atmosphere was pleasant and the staff friendly and attentive. Definitely recommended for those who love modern, refined Asian dishes!

Lovely restaurant with friendly servers and delicious food

Seating way too crowded, was basically on top of the next table. Food was pretty good but not amazing. We had the 5 course menu (including dessert for around 60€) Clear problem was the waiting time: 15 mins to get the menus and 20 minutes between courses. A 4 course meal took 2 hours to be served throughout, really really slow.

We had a great time. It was nice overall. Service could be improved. :)

Nice modern food concept and nice atmosphere, their shared dining option is highly recommended. It’s a great experience and way to try out different items from the menu. It’s inspired by Asian dishes with a nice modern cuisine touch.

It was a great evening again. Come here more often and it can never go wrong here price quality is perfect. Raafi helped us perfectly the whole evening which made it a great evening!

Used the dining for 2 option from American Express. Three course menu consisting of different dishes. For 13 euros extra you could add another course with two dishes per person. Was enough food, diverse and tasty. Also staff was very nice and helpful. We were able to add two friends to our reservation at the last minute. They used the normal menu. Was very warm inside, no air conditioning.

We experienced the three course meal here and the food was good! But when entering we were greeted by a guy who kept speaking to us in dutch while we speak English. This made us feel very unwelcome. Also it is important to understand the restaurant does NOT have airconditioning and with today’s weather this was simply unbearable. Also the waiters seemed very busy, as it took 3 x asking to receive icecubes, 3x asking for bread and also the bill took very long and asking multiple times. But the food was nice.

Delicious food and drinks. Service very friendly and alert. And surprise: they had heard that it was my birthday and I got fireworks and happy birthday. So thoughtful, extra festive evening because of that.

This Asian restaurant is a pleasant surprise! From the outside, you wouldn't guess how cosy it is inside. The food is truly delicious, packed with flavor, and the service is both quick and friendly. It's definitely worth checking out!

We were a group of 4, each of whom had chosen a different menu, but in our judgment regarding the dinner we can be unanimous: A TRUE TASTE SENSATION! Several dishes per course, prepared with great care and neatly presented with a very refined taste. The last time I had such a good impression was at Sinne and this restaurant has a Michelin star. Not cheap, but you get value for your money in a modernly decorated restaurant where it is pleasant to stay in a relaxed atmosphere. Absolute recommendation.

Overall great experience! Super fresh and high quality seafood. The service was very accommodating, making sure at all times we had everything we needed and felt just at home. Thanks to Rafi for taking such good care of us. Would recommend to everyone in search for a special seafood experience.

Great food for the price - with extremely attentive and kind service! Full seafood menu with half lobster at less than €60 is really a great price for Amsterdam. Good variety of dishes, and they are well-thought - sometimes there's too much garnishing and some dishes are slightly too salty, but overall very happy with what we ate. The wine choice could be wider. Great and friendly service, not common for Amsterdam's standards! Recommended for a fine dinner out, I'll think about it again when craving some good fish.

We loved the place! We had the social dining menu, where you can choose different dishes to share. There's also a good selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Finally, the service was excellent. Eibert accompanied us throughout the meal, eager to explain everything we needed. We would happily return!

We came here for a quiet lunch, but unfortunately left feeling extremely uncomfortable. What started as casual conversation with the manager quickly crossed a line — he asked the name of my friend’s baby, inferred her religion based on the name, and proceeded to launch into a political opinion piece about Netanyahu and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. This was wildly inappropriate. We were not there to be quizzed about our religion or to hear unsolicited political views, especially ones that connected us to global issues simply because of our identity. This kind of conversation is not only unprofessional in a hospitality setting, but it also made us feel blamed and burdened — simply for existing. There’s a time and place for political discussion, and this was neither. The assumption that someone should carry the weight of an international conflict based on their perceived religion is not just insensitive — it’s discriminatory. I will never set foot in this place again. The manager’s behavior was completely unacceptable and should be seriously questioned by the owner. No customer should have to experience such discomfort, prejudice, or invasive commentary. A restaurant should be a place of welcome — not one that alienates and harms.

We celebrated my partner’s birthday and had an incredible experience! We had two of the sharing menus and got to taste 12 innovative and delicious plates. The service was extraordinary - thank you!

Amazing experience at Umami! We are a couple of Tennesseans visiting Amsterdam. Our service was great. We each had the 4 course lunch meal giving us the opportunity of trying 8 different dishes total— each packed with flavors from savory to citrus. Well worth it!

We had a good night here. We've spent 6 days in Netherlands and today was the day 6. Nice food, of course, friendly staff. Good place to relax and taste interesting dish (I'm Japanese, by the way) asian taste but slightly different from normal. we certainly enjoyed unique dinner here

Fantastic experience this evening. Food was great in all aspects - creativity, flavour, and presentation all spot on. The drinks are also worth a mention, with a nice variety of cocktails and wine. The staff were friendly and informative, and the restaurant itself has a nice atmosphere. It is also surprisingly large, extending far to the back, so I imagine there is always a chance for a table. Will be returning for sure!

Cute atmosphere, not exactly what we were expecting. However, the piggy ramen was delicious. The dim sum and chicken spring rolls were also delicious. Can’t remember the second entree but it was okay.

It was a good experience. Okay, it is not the best Asian fusion restaurant, but it is not bad. Good value for money. The waitress who served me was lovely. The starters were tasty, and I might have liked the main course to have a more intense flavour.

Really super food. They have a lot of different types of menus which is a bit confusing but the servers are very friendly and helpful with recommendations. Everything we ate was excellent and they were able to make everything gluten free. I would really recommend the steamed oysters. I was a bit hesitant for a cooked oyster but it was really amazing! Well worth a visit

The decor was beautiful and atmosphere was very relaxed and comfortable. I have food allergies that can make it diffucult to eat out but the staff was very patient and kind, helping me to find options that work for me. I ended uo having the seabass which was delicious! Would recommend!

The modest entrance with mini terrace gives access to a beautiful and enormously elongated restaurant. Beautiful atmosphere and especially delicious dishes. Genuine Asian fusion with a menu where several small dishes were reserved to share. Very good! Recommended!
