The place itself has an amazing vibe. The staff takes exceptional care of you and waiter Maks made it even more special with his very friendly approach and excellent service. The food was also incredibly good and fresh. Very much recommended!!!

This was such an amazing find! Asian style tapas, we had 6 plates each with bread and rice for 39.50 euro per person and these were not tiny portions! Service was fab from start to finish and a great drink selection highly recommend if you find yourself around vondelpark. A highlight for us was the mango chilli prawns and the beef on course 3!

Absolutely loved our experience at Umami! The food was delicious, and the King of the Sea Ramen was easily the highlight of the meal. Rich, flavorful, and definitely something I’d come back for. The staff were also incredibly friendly and welcoming, especially our waiter Ola, who made the experience even better with her great service and warm personality. Umami has officially become one of our Amsterdam favorites, and we’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend it if you’re looking for great food and even better hospitality! 🍜❤️

Had a wonderful evening at Umami. We had the social menu, which allowed us to choose our own courses. The food was truly outstanding, and combined with a relaxed atmosphere made for a truly enjoyable evening. Highlights were the mango prawns, the ginger chicken, the scallops, the tofu courgette, but I’ve forgotten so many other wonderful dishes. A nice, focused wine by the glass selection too; I can recommend the pinot noir on offer. George was a fantastic waiter, knowledgeable, attentive and genial throughout.

Very good food! Think tapas. The menu is either a prefix menu, or you can select a traditional sharing option where each guest gets two dishes from three courses. The portions look small, but at the end of the day you get filled, especially the more people that you have. It is expensive. But I would highly recommend! I was originally under the assumption that it was sushi, but it is definitely much more. The dish presentations really give this place it’s five stars!

Disappointed I had a Japanese curry with fish and the salmon stank and was therefore old. And my partner had a ramen with equally smelly salmon. So not fresh either. We left the salmon untouched and told the waiter when he asked what we thought of the food. He said he would let the kitchen know. Subsequently, nothing was done. What a letdown, we are not coming back!

By far one of the best gastronomical experiences in Amsterdam. We chose the 3 course menu and it was so worth it. The restaurant is beautiful and nicely decorated. Staff is very nice and friendly. Options are great per each course. Drinks and desserts amazing as well. I don’t want to explain, just see the images below. Only point that I think should be reviewed is how the menu is build. Is not easy to understand the different options. So, you might need a lot of support from the waiters. Excluding this point, I Love this place. Hope to be back soon!

What a wonderful experience! The food was incredible and surprisingly affordable for fine dining. The old fashion was amazingggg. What made the evening unforgettable, though, was the service. The staff stayed late past closing, sharing stories and laughing with us as if we were old friends. We found out that one of the servers was Vietnamese, so of course we had to do the classic “Một, hai, ba, vô!” toast together. It was such a fun and memorable moment. A special shoutout to the amazing staff who stayed with us on 7/24, and especially to Khuyen Pham for recommending that we visit Utrecht. We changed our plans because of your suggestion, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. Khuyen, if you happen to read this, thank you! I hope to return one day and when I do, I’m going to head straight to your dream restaurant.

The food was incredible, but the option to basically just choose one of everything and share amongst the table is not to be missed. Honestly quite reasonable as well, three courses had us too full for dessert. Not to be missed.

Light and lovely summer dining fun

The food was delicious, the staff were friendly, and the terrace was lovely. I ordered food online afterward, and it was delicious as well. Highly recommended. I had another delicious meal there, and I sat outside on what I believe is a new terrace, which was very pleasant.

We had a truly, truly delicious meal on the terrace. The service was very pleasant: friendly, fast, and knowledgeable. The accompanying tea with the dishes was a truly amazing new experience and enhanced the flavors of the food! A perfect substitute for a wine pairing. Unfortunately, I didn't take any photos, but everything looked amazing! The portions were also surprisingly good; we went home with full, satisfied bellies, which you don't experience very often in Amsterdam these days. :)

It’s a bit pricey for a place that charges for tap water, doesn’t have AC, and denied me ice cubes in a day with 33C. Service is VERY slow, considering many dishes are cold, and that it was not that busy. I know the day is unusual, but they should prepare better.

13,50€ for two water bottles is just crazy. Food was good and service as well, but the water is just a scam and it’s not even a fancy bottle, just a reused bottle that they put tapwater in.

Fine restaurant, tapas-style dishes but with an Asian twist. I did find the price-quality ratio to be out of line.

My husband is vegetarian and I love seafood. Needless to say it’s hard to find a restaurant where both of us would be fully satisfied. Umami by Han was the best place we could’ve chosen to celebrate our anniversary! We opted for three-course social dining menu for €39.50 per person. Each of us got 6 small plates of absolutely delicious dishes. Incredible quality for the price! We will be back for sure! PS We had to pay extra for the half lobster, but I still wanted to include the picture of it here because it was so yummy!

We went here for Amex dinning for 2 and everything is so good! It’s definitely worth to choose to come here. The waitresses are so nice to help you to order and serve. The food taste good and we are so full after it.

Nice restaurant...atmospheric. The food was tasty but it didn't blow me away. The Ramen Not Just For Chicks tasted bland and needed spice and lime. Fortunately, we got that upon inquiry. The spring rolls were just good and the dumplings too, but they could have had even more intense flavors. Otherwise, a fine restaurant!

My second time here: Service is ZERO: biked a table in advance, but no table available at our arrival! Then they put us in the back room, sort of secondary room with nobody, no service available… Very very disappointed… Do not come

Traveled to Amsterdam solo for work. I always enjoy trying new places near where I’m staying and this popped up when I searched Asian cuisine. I chose the seafood pre-fix menu and wow I was pleasantly surprised. For the first course I LOVED the beetroot salmon. Second course was equally delicious but I did drink the sauce from the scallop shell. Third and final Course I didn’t even get a picture but I would come back for the mussels and noodles alone. The service was great. Ola walked me through the menu selection and was very welcoming.
