Monte Verde in Oude Pijp

I got the pizza monte verde. The taste was quite alright actually, I really enjoyed it. I was very suspicious of this place because 9 euro pizzas in such a touristy place sounds too good to be true, I was kind of curious what the catch was. The catch is the amount of ingredients. It was very little of all types of ingredients, there were maybe 5 pieces of salami and ham together on the pizza for example. But I had low expectations and just wanted to give it a try. I really enjoyed the taste. Also, I love that the dough was super crispy, it was a light dinner. So I'll come back to try other things in the menu. Perhaps they'll prepare the pizzas with more topics if I order more than 1 item. We will see. In summary, I recommend it! (tastes pretty decent, in a convent place. And come with low expectations.)

Depressing place. They call themselves an Italian pizzeria, but they're not. Dirty place and very rude staff.

Excellent place! We arrived without a reservation and they had availability. Quick service, homey atmosphere, simple decor, and low noise level that allows for conversation. The pasta was delicious and very affordable compared to other places of similar quality. The menu was extensive. We'll be back tomorrow to try other dishes; highly recommended.

I didn't have a reservation, just walked in. The waitress helped me right away and got me a seat. The pizzas were good, and for 9 euros, it was a reasonable price, as it should be.

I've been here twice now, once as a couple and once with a group. When we were there as a couple, I was pleasantly surprised. All pizza, pasta, and lasagna were €7.50 for the whole year in honor of Amsterdam's 750th anniversary. It was great fun, and it was also very delicious. We enjoyed it, and the service was excellent. It was a weeknight then, and a table was immediately available, and everything was quiet and well-organized. Back then, I had Pizza King, or something like that, I think, which was fine. It was tasty, but nothing particularly special. We returned with a group of eight people. Creating a long table with advance reservations was no problem for the staff, which was great! This time it was a Saturday night, and they were clearly a staff member short. Moreover, everything was now €8.50. Still not expensive, but more expensive. After a round of drinks that went a bit slow, more people slowly started arriving, and I felt the service deteriorated somewhat. Taking orders took a long time, and because I think there was only one person in the kitchen, the preparation took a while as well (but not excessively long). For example, no one asked for another round of drinks, and no glasses or plates were collected (nor were the menus after ordering), so the table filled up and we had to take our own food. This was clearly due to a shortage of staff, as the staff were very friendly and helpful and did their best. Everyone really enjoyed the food. Large portions and delicious. I tried the calzone, which also had an excellent bolognese sauce. The prosecco was sweet and delicate, but a small glass for the price. The tiramisu was delicious and a bit pricey for what you got, but not excessively so. It was all very enjoyable. There's a large menu with a wide selection of main courses and drinks. I find the interior of the building a bit odd; it seems like it was thrown together very quickly, with no time or effort invested at all. It would be great if, for example, all the walls were redone. The building could really use it, in my opinion. It would make it more cozy and welcoming, I think. It was fine. I would definitely recommend eating here with a group of up to four people. It's delicious and inexpensive, and the staff is friendly.

A very professional and service-oriented restaurant with experienced chefs and a warm welcome. The atmosphere is charming and the company has been around for over 25 years. We've been here several times to eat and order, and we're very satisfied. The price-to-service ratio is excellent for groups. Reservations are possible. We also offer competitive prices. Delivery to your home or business for parties or dinner. Highly recommended. Currently, there are special offers on pizzas and pasta for €8.50. The restaurant is excellent.

Nice staff, the food is cheap, and so the quality

We had a pleasant dinner in a warm and friendly atmosphere. We started with tomato soup and garlic bread, then continued with pizza. Everything was delicious. I really enjoyed the crisp flavor that came from the thin pizza crust.

Really good food at reasonable prices. We had focaccia, tortellini, and a pasta dish — all of which were delicious. Plus, friendly service despite the busy atmosphere.

I picked up food here today. And then I got a very simple pasta, inedible, as if spices were forbidden in this kitchen.

What a fantastic experience at this pizzeria! From the moment we walked in, we received a warm welcome. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxed, exactly what you're looking for on a night out. The pizzas were delicious – crispy crusts, fresh ingredients, and perfectly seasoned. You can just taste the love and craftsmanship behind the work. The service was also excellent: friendly, fast, and attentive. We finished the evening with a delicious cup of coffee, perfectly brewed and with a perfect crema. A moment of peace after a successful meal. Definitely a place we'll be back for more. Highly recommended! 🍕☕️

Monte Verde is the first restaurant I have visited when I first moved to Amsterdam almost two years ago now and I have been coming back regularly. The staff is super sweet, the service is fast. The food is delicious and home made and the pricing is very attractive. I highly recommend!

I had a pasta bolognese, but it tasted like nothing; you have to search for meat, and it's soaked in watery tomato sauce. Yes, it's cheap at €8.50, but still seriously subpar. The service was also inattentive. Guests at the next table had long since left, but their table remained uncleared for a long time. It was late afternoon, so it was quiet, and there were plenty of staff around. The affogato at the end was thankfully excellent. Just as I was about to leave, a staff member started and seemed to do all the work within minutes of those two loitering young women who were neglecting everything. She cleared several tables and was attentive.

I loved eating here. It was a Monday so very calm and not busy at all. Our waitress was so nice and I would definitely come again.

This used to be a good place but in the last year the quality of the food is very bad. The food, the service, the bad customer service, the food has lost its taste. I definitely do not recommend it. I will not go there anymore and I do not recommend it.

The pizzas are exquisite and priced at €7-8, incredible for the quality they have. It is very close to the De Pijp metro station. The service is good although the waiter is a bit annoying with the pronunciation of some words 😂 I will definitely return 👌🏽🍕

7,50 € la pizza, 7,50€ le plat de pâtes….. c’est assez surprenant , surtout à Amsterdam, mais quand en plus c’est très bon et copieux, on est plus que ravi. A part le tiramisu que nous avons trouvé «  normal » sans originalité ni fioritures, les desserts aussi sont à craquer👍 N’hésitez pas à pousser la porte, vous serez conquis.
