Sometimes there's a queue. But shouldn't take longer then 10-15 mins. Food is spectacular...well worth the wait!

Absolutely loved this little gem in Amsterdam! My husband and I popped in for breakfast and everything from start to finish was perfect. The atmosphere was cosy and welcoming, with a lovely buzz without being too noisy. The staff were warm, friendly, and genuinely seemed happy to be there. The iced coffee was rich and smooth and the breakfast was fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. Portions were generous without being over the top, and you could tell everything was made with care. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Amsterdam. Highly recommend.

A wonderful place to grab a delicious breakfast outside. Got the “McMuffin” which was closer to an eggs Benedict than a sandwich but still delicious. Only espresso (no drip coffee) but done well.

I went here for brunch during a trip to Amsterdam. They were very accommodating to my gluten allergy. I had the Eggs Benedict on gluten free bread and it was outstanding. The service was fantastic as well. I would highly recommend.

Really good and filling English breakfast (loved the mushrooms, the crispy bacon and poached eggs). Only the double espresso was a bit wesk: I'm sure they have good beans, maybe some Settings of machine can be improved.. Prompt and attentive service, with a smile that definitely gives good vibes! Worth going back to try some other dish from the interesting menu!

Serving is super slow, both waitresses and food prep. Coffee is served as small size. After long wait, egg benedict was served with a bad presentation. My friend ordered ham one and the cheese was not toasted, just placing on the muffin, hard and cold. Taste of salmon is good but not good enough for this long waiting. Overrated and not recommended.

Back in Amsterdam and once again, I’ve stumbled upon another gem — this time, the brilliant Mortimer’s for brunch. Let me start with the staff: the Dutch aren’t exactly known for their warm-and-fuzzy service, but Mortimer’s completely flips that stereotype. Everyone was genuinely friendly, upbeat, and full of smiles — a rare and refreshing vibe. The place itself is charming and cozy, buzzing with energy. We’re talking queues-out-the-door busy — and for good reason. The food? Exceptional. Every bite was a revelation: the bread was unreal, the poached eggs spot-on, the bacon crispy just the way it should be. Then there were the little touches — salsas, chutneys, dill yogurt oil, hollandaise — each one adding its own burst of flavor. Plates were quite literally wiped clean. All in all, it was a flawless brunch experience — well worth the short wait. If you’re in Amsterdam, this spot is a must.

Small, but very nice for breakfast/brunch! We had to wait a bit for a table, but we didn't have a reservation. The staff was busy, but still kept an overview and was always friendly! A cozy breakfast café in a good location, close to the train station yet on a relatively quiet side street—although you can still hear the street noise. The matcha latte was really very good, and the regular coffee was solid and of a good standard. The food was delicious, but a bit too expensive for my taste. Neither the location nor the service are particularly special enough to fully justify the price. Overall, though, a good café if you want to have breakfast nearby.

I was very excited to try the ‘English Breakfast’ from here, and was somewhat disappointed as there is truly nothing English about this breakfast. The bacon is American style (the kind you can snap like a twig) and sweet, the mushrooms are strangely seasoned and diced, and 20% of the plate is salad. Wouldn’t recommend if you’re expecting a proper fry-up. They should call it the Mortimer Breakfast instead of an English Breakfast. Staff were nice and attentive. Overall some expensive eggs.

The dish sounded like breakfast heaven: toast, bacon, cheddar, a poached egg, a delicious sauce... but the first bite was a disappointment – ​​everything was cold. When I asked, the waiter assured me that was how it was supposed to be. Really? Who on earth would want cold bacon, cold cheddar (not even slightly melted!), and a poached egg with no warmth at all for 18 euros? It's a shame – the ingredients had potential, but served cold, unfortunately, it just remains a bland experience.

Arrived here in the morning for breakfast with my wife. All customers sitting at their tables, only one free table in the sun. My wife sits down as is logical to do finding a free table, the waitress arrives, a young girl with glasses, who makes her get up because the group of three people already sitting at the table in front of the shade had to sit there, they were not even consuming... she babbles something, indicates to wait in an unspecified spot as if she was sending us away, in the meantime as a joke, another couple arrives and sits at the table just vacated by the group that had been moved to the table where my wife was sitting. It was not a mistake, but simple preference. Also because I don't think you have to book in advance to have breakfast. One star, this is what it deserves, 0 would be ideal just for the behavior.

A quick lunch stop just a short walk from the central station. The cafe has a light, modern atmosphere. I had the Dutch Eggs Carbonara with a mango juice, which was simple but tasty! A little expensive for what it was, but I would still recommend it. The staff were all very friendly and attentive.

Small, cozy, and charming, located off the main roads. The menu may be small, but it's lovingly curated and offers plenty of culinary delights. The drinks list is impressive, as are the fresh, homemade cakes. The breakfast was fantastic—everything freshly prepared and very tasty. The absolutely fantastic service deserves special mention: warm, attentive, and professional. A real recommendation—we'd love to come back!

One of the best brunch I've ever had!!! Especially the bacon, crunchy but not burnt, a taste of sweetness instead of the usual salty flavor. They nailed the hollandaise sauce, but every dish we had today was delicious. The staffs were nice, attentive and professional, we only had to wait for less than 10 mins for a table for 3. Their cakes list are not fixed, was there for some red velvet but sadly they didn't have it. Will definitely be back to finish the menu ✨

The Salmon Graval was delicious, rich in flavor. The service was impeccable: quick turnarounds and even storing our luggage for us during the duration of the meal. The staff was super kind and nice. The place has limited seating but the staff worked hard to make sure everyone got accommodated and taken care of.

Nice place to have breakfast. We tried their Turkish eggs and this plate was tasty. Good coffee as well 👍🏻. However their croissant was very disappointing: bland flavor, not flaky at all. We didn't find any line because we went at 7:30 am.

I had a very pleasant experience at Mortimer. The english breakfast was good and the portion was great but I felt there was an imbalance in flavours. That’s maybe because I chose to replace the sausage with an avocado. The bread served with the English breakfast was way too greasy. But overall the food was good and I’d come again to try something else because the food is clean and well cooked. The staff were also nice. Overall a great experience and I recommend trying it if you’re up for breakfast or brunch in Amsterdam.

Do not go if you’re not able to speak Dutch. The barista who works the counter is discriminatory who does not like Americans. She will prioritize the locals over you because I cannot quote the language she used because Google will not post the review. You will leave hungry, disappointed, and miserable. Since I can’t respond to the owner I’ll just edit and add this in. We showed up to a relatively empty restaurant. Plenty of open tables around, walked up to the counter asked for a table for 2 and was told wait outside and someone will grab you shortly. We did as we were asked. Proceeded to wait outside and form the line as no one else was there yet, then over the next 2 minutes 20 people walked into the restaurant, spoke to the same barista we did, and they were seated immediately. We went back inside to ask the barista if she forgot about us, to which she said “no” and we said okay but what about our table as we were the first people here in line… her response was “you will have to wait now with the other tourists because now the restaurant is full.” If this is your definition of fair and non discriminatory service, Mortimer is the perfect restaurant for you.

I had lunch with a friend of mine there. We found this place on instagram (advertising) and we decided to have lunch there. They have some freshly prepared juices and some selection of different meals for lunch. I ordered Benedict eggs with salmon. The hollandaise sauce was very vinegary and eggs were overcooked. Juice and coffee were very good though.

A fabulous little place to have breakfast. Mortimer may be small but it makes up for this with a big welcome and a hearty breakfast with great coffee. The staff were lovely and super helpful. I had eggs Benedict with bacon instead of ham and my fellow diners has scrambled eggs with bacon and avocado, and scrambled eggs with gravlax. The gravlax was exceptional, it just melted in your mouth. The eggs Benedict were perfectly cooked with delicious hollandaise sauce. I highly recommend, but get there early to ensure you get a table.

Sigo esperando ese desayuno de cinco estrellas, pero aún no ha llegado. El personal es increíblemente amable. Cuando llegué, tenía curiosidad si quedaba algún asiento, y ella subió las escaleras para comprobar si había una mesa abierta (la había). Pero los asientos en el interior son muy limitados. Sugiero que vayas temprano. Tenía muchas esperanzas puestas en el "Eggs Royale" que es básicamente un Benny con salmón en lugar de jamón. El pescado era excelente, los huevos escalfados perfectamente. La salsa holandesa tenía un buen sabor, pero un poco espesa y no tan movida como me suele gustar. El café con leche era excelente. El jugo de naranja era promedio. Servicio muy rápido y amable. Escuché a otra mesa decir "Gracias, ese fue el mejor desayuno que he tenido en mucho tiempo. " Elige sabiamente. Los holandeses definitivamente han ganado la lotería genética. Totalmente injusto.

A real brunch highlight in Amsterdam! At Mortimer we tried an exciting combination of pulled pork, sauerkraut and poached egg on brioche - and it was simply delicious. The drinks were also great and the service was cheerful and attentive. If you love good food, don't let the waiting time put you off - it's worth it!
