NEMO Museumrestaurant in Nieuwmarkt/Lastage

A wonderful museum suitable for children and adults alike. All the floors are enchanting and fascinating.

We had some hamburgers, which were very tasty, and a hot dog, which was a bit tough, but that's probably just how sausages are here. There wasn't a huge selection of food. The service wasn't bad, but the place was so deserted and empty that the waiters seemed to be wandering around doing other things instead of taking orders or helping serve.

I only saw it from outside at night. Too bad it wasn't lit up🛳

2 Cafes with in the Museum, Downstairs cafe smaller serving teas coffee and breakfast muffins . Upstairs restaurant style Cafe serving hot food ,snacks , soup, burgers etc . Family orientated ,busy, lots of families. Could be quite noisy.

If before coming here you are wondering whether it is worth eating beforehand or eating here, then choose the first option. The prices are at the level of ordinary restaurants, but the quality of the food and the choice are terrible.

The place is really cool, I hadn't been before, and I thought it was just a museum, until I saw they had food. You walk along a conveyor belt like a buffet, and you pay for what you want. A plate of olives, a sandwich, a drink, and a pizza: €29.45. In any other business in the area, just that would have cost at least €60.

This cafe at the top of the Nemo Science museum is a partial escape from the chaos of the children enjoying the science on all the floors below. The views are always so o spectacular. Well worth a visit.

Great view and cheap but tasty cafeteria style food.

A kind of science city for children with hundreds of stations of various kinds, from soap bubbles to water games, from mechanics to chemistry, and so on. Happy children and exhausted parents 😁

Good food with a great atmosphere!!

The food was too expensive and mediocre. We had to wait 10 minutes for ketchup, and our food got cold. None of the food was labeled vegan. They advertise it as healthy and nutritious, but it's just junk food. The only thing that was nice was the terrace.

We had a sandwich on the roof. The restaurant has a wide selection and you can sit comfortably both inside and outside. The view over Amsterdam is fantastic.

Since the museum cafes are usually ridiculously overpriced this was a very pleasant surprise. Main dishes range from 6-10€ and drinks are 3€. Cheaper than most cafes in amsterdam. There isn’t a lot of options but everything is very flavourful. Especially the asian cuisine. There’s a lot of tables. Overall great.

Over the past year, I’ve had the pleasure of visiting this science museum twice, and each visit was a delightful experience. One of the standout features is the abundance of interactive exhibits that engage visitors of all ages. From hands-on experiments to immersive displays, there’s always something new to discover. A particular highlight was the scheduled energy demonstrations. These shows brilliantly illustrate the principles of energy transfer and are both educational and entertaining. They captivate the audience and make complex concepts accessible to everyone.  Another convenience is the ability to visit without prior reservations, thanks to the museum card. This flexibility makes spontaneous visits possible and adds to the overall positive experience. For children with a thirst for knowledge and a penchant for exploration, this museum is undoubtedly one of the best places to visit. It’s a haven for young inquisitive minds eager to learn and have fun simultaneously.

Very good and interactive. Well made museum.. Can easily spend 2-3 hours here. Very big lockers, you can keep hand luggage stroller suitcases also inside it. Picture attached. Free washroom available

Never had a worse meal!! Fries and sausage must have been on display for ages. Absolutely disgusting!!!

Ask them to speak English again. 8. Go up the stairs 9. Wait in a 6 kilometer line to access food 10. Realize that it tastes bad 11. Write a review 12. Banned from NEMO for life 13. Your kid cries 14. Your kid gets mad at you 15. Spend days calming your kid 16. Manipulating your kid to think like you 17. Your kid will be happy

Food is insanely expensive 9.50 for a small pizza that is not well done. Very small portions that were kept limply warm. I really like the museum, but this is really not possible

Cute especially for children the best way to learn is by playing I recommend it for families

The pizza at the cafe is inedible and kaulo is small compared to the price (€7.75). The lady is very sweet.

Unfortunately, the menu here is determined by the Amsterdam city council due to the subsidy received. Mandatorily mainly vegan. We had forgotten this for a while after our disappointing lunch in Artis. Result: once again a not very inclusive menu. Still, we took a chance, we were hungry after all. My wife almost gagged at the smell of my son's hot dog and her carrot bun didn't taste much either. Luckily we still had our currant buns that we brought with us. 45 euros later and 4 wasted meals but we moved on disappointed again. Tip: you can bring your own lunch here.

De locatie is geweldig maar even vergeten dat de menukaart wordt bepaald door de Amsterdamse gemeenteraad ivm subsidie Dus enkel vegetarisch en weinig smaakvol. tip: je mag je eigen lunch meenemen, een aanrader!

What a sleepy staff, and what a mess! The salad bar was completely empty, the hot dishes could not be found and the cheese sandwiches, etc. and pizza had clearly been drying out for hours, so everyone ordered fries. Which you could wait a long time for. The guests also had a discount on hot dogs and drinks, but everyone left the rest behind because it just looked unappetizing. The cashier was writing on her phone while she paid me and made me a coffee, only looked at me once. Tables not cleaned. The fries were really tasty and you could add as much sauce as you wanted. When I got a bottle of water for my daughter a little later, there was no one at the cash register or in the kitchen, so that made up for the 22 euros for three fries and three drinks. All in all, a nice place with a great view, but the management could do with some motivation for the youth who 'work' there.

Excellent service, the view is incredible, with buffet and cafeteria options.

I was simply speechless about the food at this restaurant. How dirty this was! Maybe the kitchen was having a bad day, but everything we ordered was simply inedible. We had a vegetarian Indian curry which was really just a sauce. Vegetables were nowhere to be found (taste was far too sweet and flat) with bread, pasta salad (tasted very strange, was it fresh?), sausages in tomato sauce (again too sweet and not seasoned) and 2 scoops of bread and currant roll (very dry ). Simple things like bread weren't even fresh and yet they charged a lot of money. I find that very bad. In addition, all hot dishes tasted as if they came from a package and tasted very chemically. Very surprised at the good reviews. For such a big museum, to serve such bad food. Never experienced this.

Unfortunately the roof terrace is closed and will not reopen until 2025. What a shame!

Highly recommended (note that some children are not to blame for not being taught good manners by their parents...some children didn't even know that an experiment was already being carried out, so you literally don't need to stick your nose, just a few minutes wait)

Very nice terrace where you can enjoy views of the city in a very quiet environment. It is quiet and they have water fountains that run throughout the terrace that give you that calming sound. The attention is very good. Good place to go to rest after a long day of walking.

Edem made us feel welcome and provided us with great service at Nemo Restaurant. We had the grilled salmon, seabass, chef’s special, prawn tempura and a couple other dishes. They all tasted brilliant, however the price is on the steep side. In house DJ and lovely aquarium for the backdrop. Would definitely recommend visiting.

The food is absolutely inedible. The pasta was too spicy, the kids refused to eat it. The vegetables were so overloaded with curry that it was impossible to eat them. Got food poisoning afterward. I don't want to speak negatively about the place, rather this is feedback for them to improve the quality of their dishes.

Self service restaurant. Good for museum food. Amazing view of the city. Some water games for kids. Bar for beer also available. The croissant was awesome. Baked chicken was great. Pasta was a bit bland.

The view was beautiful of the harbor and skyline and there was open space and activities for kids while there was fresh food options, fresh squeezed orange juice and a bar for parents.

A place for good food with a wonderful view. Dining room and restaurant. The food is fine. Toilet clean. Free access to the roof. So a good stop on the way around Amsterdam.

Terrace with an exceptional view of Amsterdam, a must-see viewpoint. To avoid the crowds, do it late in the afternoon when the museum empties.

As a permanent wheelchair user (T6 parapligic) it was easy to get into with the revolving door on the right of the building, the lady at the reception was nice and pointed out straight away that my partner went in free,( £15 a ticket) she pointed out the lifts, and said the 2nd floor was closed for refurbishment, and explained what was on the other floors, the first thing you see is there gift shop which is reasonably priced, and then a massive water powered clock, then through to the rear there was a show with a commentary which was fun, then loads of interactive science stands to play with, All the kids were enjoying it, Third floor had a massive interactive game projected on the wall, you had to collect a tray and hold it over your head near the wall, and the projection shows the top part of earth and asteroids and satellite falling down and you have to stop them crashing through to earth, the tray is projected on the wall and follows your movements, it was fun to watch. It's mainly a astronomy floor with more interactive light shows and things to do, the 4th floor is about the human body there's lots to look at and do, the 5th floor has the rooftop terrace and cafe, the whole area is accessible up to the steps going down the roof, the view is great!, well worth a visit.

The Nemo museum's cafeteria and restaurant is located on the roof of the museum, there is no entrance fee. From there there are incredible views of the city, there are several viewpoints and a staircase/benches to sit quietly to see the landscape or read or whatever. to be .

Stunning museum. Divided into 4 themed floors + outdoor terrace on the top floor. Suitable for children and teenagers but also interesting for adults. It gives you the opportunity to discover science through very nice and intuitive experiments and games. Everything is available in two languages ​​(Dutch or English). On the top floor there is the restaurant where you can eat a bit of everything at a good price. Clean museum and friendly, helpful staff.

I give it 4 **** because we have not tried many dishes, but the basic ones, the environments are very cool, and clean, they have an outdoor terrace with very beautiful views, normal prices for Amsterdam. They also have a cafeteria on the lower floor.

Acceptable, but expensive, with 4 children who all want fries for 4 euros and a fresh one for 2.5, you will spend a lot of money, not to mention the sandwich...

Floors have different thema. Each device includes description in both Dutch and English. For kids between 2-4 years old it has less activities, but you can find enough activites for at least 2 hours. There are also interactive programs that kids can participate. The mesuem doesn't have parking but there are some parkings near by between 400-700 meters that are listed in the website. There is a small parking place behinde the bus station that is helpful. The museum has stairs and lifts. So it is kids friendly.

Desayunamos en el NEMO porque nos lo recomendó la guía. Sin embargo, debo decir que los precios son algo caros para lo que ofrecen: un café ☕ pequeño (3'50€) y un muffin de limón 🍋 (4'50€). Las vistas son espectaculares pero es cierto que la terraza es gratuita.

The food is good considering that you are in a museum restaurant. The price is resenable and not over the top. It's a self-service restaurant. The location on the roof of the nemo building is really wonderful. You have a great view over Amsterdam, and kids can play on the roof with the water.

If you're looking for a cool spot to grab some grub in Amsterdam, you gotta check out the NEMO Museumrestaurant. Not only do they serve up delicious food and drinks, but the views of the city are seriously amazing. Buena comida, cafés, cervezas . Es recomendable comer entre 1 y 2 de la tarde, ya que es cuando más gente asiste y después de ese horario es difícil encontrar comida.

Food was good with a lot of options for every taste.

Geweldige plek om dingen te leren was er nog nooit geweest en nu met een kleinzoon die het geweldig vond al die vele leerzame dingen op 4 etages. En in het restaurant zijn ook hele lekkere dingen te koop. We hadden een topdag.

Un endroit chouette pour prendre un verre en raison de la vue sur la ville. De plus, les prix sont abordables.

Amazing and useful science place for kids and parents. Lots of interactive installations. You can eat there, rest and stay for all day. Really amazing experience. We've lost the daughter's backpack, and kind stuff helps us to find this.

I mean, that iced coffee felt so heaven, especially on a sunny afternoon. The brownies and cookie did not disappoint too!! Discovered this gem after living for one year in Amsterdam, the view is just fantastic, the photo does not justify 🥲 It’s a shame they close too early especially during longer daylight.

A must visit for family outing on a good weather day (even if you are not visiting the museum itself). Kids can play while you can enjoy the Amsterdam city view.
