Cozy neighborhood coffee shop with delicious toasties, and the coffee is really good too! My new go-to cafe at the moment 😁

Normally we were served well, but there is also someone working here who is very rude. I have ordered food and drinks here several times. This time I received much less than before. I politely asked if I could have a little more, which they did, but then that woman came over. She indicated that what was in it was already REALLY SUPER MUCH. She then walked away angrily while I was still talking to her. When I walked over to her to calmly explain that there is normally more in the portions, she continued to act angry and arrogant. So I will never come here again, unless she leaves. That would make this place a lot more pleasant. The rest of the staff is just nice and polite.

I found the service particularly good, and it is very clean. But I feel the interior vibe really lacks appeal. I actually only come here to sit on the terrace. I wouldn't be quick to sit inside.

First cafe I’ve ever encountered in the Netherlands that didn’t allow me inside with my tiny 3kg poodle even if she’s sitting in my lap. Found that oddly limiting and to be a shame as she is like family to me. Consider changing this policy especially for such small non-shedding dogs

Lovely little cafe in the neighborhood, perfect for meeting friends and having a cappuccino. Service and atmosphere are laid back and comfortable. Milk based coffees were nice, but I've tried their espresso twice now and have been disappointed both times. Very sour/acidic, like it's under extracted. Absolutely will not order again. Something wrong with the technique and or equipment IMO.

Delicious coffee, great carrot cake (leftovers neatly wrapped up for me to take home), very friendly staff. At some point, we left, it got very busy with parents, strollers, and small children. Very pleasant, but if you're recovering from burnout, the stimuli were a bit too much for me (the rest can't help that). RECOMMENDED

Great place, delicious coffee, friendly staff. Beautiful layout. Earthy interior with beautiful wood finishes. A real living room atmosphere. And the acoustics are good. No reverberation, which is nice. And a calm flow of conversation: grandma and grandpa with the grandchildren, the neighbor from around the corner, and in the summer, relaxing outside on the long outdoor sofa with lovely matching cushions. Yes, a great coffee place, to put it bluntly.

FAVORITE!!! My favorite place to go! To read, work, chat with friends and all the lovely people who work there, play with my little one (who loves Nes just as much as I do, and the delicious cookies 😉) and all of this while enjoying the most delicious coffee! Which is already made upon arrival! And the great thing is that you can work there, but laptops aren't allowed on every table so you don't feel like you're bothering other people who work there; it is, after all, a coffee shop 😉

Great place for a true cargo bike enthusiast. Ridiculous price of 12 euros for a slice of bread with cheese and tomato. You have to be willing to pay for it.

Very unpleasant experience. We ordered coffee while my iPad was already on the table and no one said anything. Only after the drinks arrived did staff suddenly complain about it, saying it was “against the rules.” It wasn’t even a laptop, and I was not working — just briefly checking something. Even after calmly explaining this, the staff remained very rude and inflexible. If this had been about co-working for hours, I would understand, but that was clearly not the case I was having coffee with my family. The whole situation was simply ridiculous.

Very disappointing and uncomfortable experience. We came as a family to have a coffee together, including our grandchild in a stroller. At some point, my husband briefly took out his iPad. We were immediately told we could not stay because “laptops ruin the vibe.” It wasn’t even a laptop, and we were not working or co-working in any way — just enjoying a coffee and conversation. In all my life, I have never been to a café where staff actively monitor whether you take out an iPad or not and then treat customers this way. If we had been planning to sit for hours and work, I would completely understand such a rule. But this was a short family coffee, clearly not a work situation. The rule given was that laptops are only allowed at a large table, which was already full.We explained we were not staying to work, the staff member remained rigid, unempathetic, and quite unpleasant, especially considering we were there with a baby. For a place that claims to be a neighborhood café, this level of control and lack of common sense is shocking. Not welcoming and not recommended.

Very disappointing experience and terrible customer service. This place is supposed to be a neighborhood coffee spot, yet it has rigid, pretentious rules as if it were something else. We came as a family with our newborn baby just to have a coffee together. My dad briefly opened his iPad to check something and we were told we couldn’t stay there because “laptops ruin the vibe.” It wasn’t even a laptop, and we were clearly there to talk and drink coffee. The rule was that laptops are only allowed at a big table, which was full. Even after explaining we’d only stay about 30 minutes, the staff member refused to let us stay, acted very cocky, and showed zero understanding He later even admitted the rule wasn’t meant for situations like ours, yet still blamed us for not checking the rules. For a neighborhood café, this is ridiculous — what’s next, banning phones? On top of that, our order was mixed up. The menu for lunch is very limited, and on a previous visit the croissant I had was cold and clearly not fresh. I had only kept coming back for convenience because of the location, but never again. Unwelcoming, inflexible, and not recommended.

If you’re ready to wait very long for a take away coffee, go for it. Every time I come here, I have to wait 10/15min for a coffee to go. There is only 1 person doing coffee, you wonder what the others are doing. And also, very expensive. Too bad because the place is nice.

Cozy decor, polite service, and delicious cappuccino

Found a fly in my coffee and the owners response was to laugh. Also asked the manager if I could open my laptop not at the work table because it was full and they said no. Coffee good and atmos nice but no business common sense or interest in customer retention. I sense they are getting cocky because of the lack of direct competition. Someone should open another cafe nearby… Or alternatively you can try somewhere like Cafe Lief in the Cronje where you’ll be treated like a human.

Excellent lunchroom with a pleasant appearance, neat facilities and a good range of breakfast, lunch, coffee, tea and cakes, etc. What they offer in terms of food and drinks is of very good quality, I really enjoyed the soup of the day, sandwich and I also thought the coffee and pastries were very good and tasty.

Very nice neighborhood cafe. They have very tasty coffee, cakes and their chai latte is 'to die for'. The service is also good and they have a stamp/strip card for to-go drinks. A real asset to have such a tent around the corner from home.

I was here today to have a coffee and lunch, the girl who took our order was antisocial, on the other hand, the girl who brought our coffee was nice. The coffee quickly became lukewarm, but the latte art was very beautiful and the coffee itself was tasty. The sandwich was also tasty, but very pricey for what you get.

The clerk is just so nice. The cake is very moist and extremely delicious. I can definitely say that Holland is delicious. The coffee is delicious and the interior is nice.

Cozy coffee shop. It seems as if many visitors know each other, possibly from the neighborhood. This creates an informal atmosphere. There is/was even a stamp card system in your name. Every time you bought a coffee, they looked up your name in the card index and if the card was full you got a free coffee, I thought. This way you feel welcome and at home at Nes71. During Corona times we regularly picked up a cup of coffee here. Nice to have such a nice place nearby.

Nes is really a top spot in Haarlem North! Everything is delicious, the coffees, the sandwiches and the cakes. Highly recommended. Staff always very friendly! If you have dietary requirements or allergies, you can also go here.

Too bad, I stopped by for a coffee for the first time, the staff doesn't even say good morning, if you ask I can order something, yes, just sit somewhere. Then I waited for 10 minutes, no one came, but probably regular customers were helped immediately and I sat for bacon and beans next to the table where the interaction was very friendly. I just left, I'll definitely give it another try.

A pearl in Haarlem Noord. Outside sittings are cozy. The location is not at the busy street so it's convenient. The coffee was delicious. Beautifully made. The cake has a specific unique taste. The prices are reasonable. Friendly service with good speed. Suitable to have a lovely chats with friend with a cup of cappucino.

It's a shame that this unique place is no longer accessible to dogs who can sit quietly under the table. There are some unaccompanied, whining children running around. A shame for such a place with a good menu.

Best local coffee in Haarlem Noord ✨

Niet al te groot koffiecafé, een beetje uit de loop maar zeker het omlopen waard. Enthousiast en vriendelijk personeel. De koffie is heel goed, met diverse (vegan) opties. De lunchkaart is lekker (niet alleen naar het bord op de muur kijken, vraag de kaart even) en er liggen heerlijke koekjes en gebakjes te wachten. Klein en fijn terrasje in de zon bij mooi weer.

Very good coffee (my decaf soy milk cappuccino was a treat), sweet and kind staff, but not the good writing spot I hoped it would be; they unfortunately also subscribe to the policy, increasingly rampant in Haarlem, that people with laptops should sequester at one big communal table hidden in the back, which is fine for corporate work, but not for creative writing (which is my thing). So definitely go for the quick coffee pitstop, but not if you plan to spend the whole day there.

The place is the typical Dutch lunchplace, under steroids: vegetarian almond milk arty farty fake humble recycling no smoking outside lgbtq+ Berlin style. That can be attractive. But the prices are RIDICULOUS of arrogance for a couple of smoothies and 2 pieces of sandwich bread. It's real sponsorship for political progressism.

Fijne plek om een koffie of thee te drinken. De cappuccino was in ieder geval goed bereid en ze hadden keuze uit twee bonen. Nadeel is dat er veel coffee to go klanten lopen en regelmatig gezinnen komen, dus plan je bezoek daarom heen als je rustig wilt zitten.

Fijne voor plek voor hele goede koffie. Goede lunch. En zeer vriendelijk personeel. Ik werk er ook fijn op mijn laptop.

Very delicious plant-based croissants! Their home made cranberry jam is the tastiest jam I’ve ever tried. Apart from this, their dark roasted flat white with oatmilk is again one of the tastiest flat whites I’ve ever had. Good ambience and friendly personnel. Overall, great experience!
