Pleasant service. Good simple - organic - menu.

Super delicious food. Stew with mashed potatoes and vegetables. Super much flavor and meat from their own cows. Delicious cake for dessert. You sit there wonderfully under the trees.

I come here often. Yesterday sat outside in the shade of old trees, enjoyed delicious food.

Nice energy and hospitable staff

On Saturday 24 May we were here with a large group of about 20 people for my grandfather's birthday. I myself have more than 10 years of experience in the catering industry, including management experience. From my experience in the catering industry I am used to the fact that when there are groups, people who make a reservation for a large group are given some advice because not everyone always knows how and what, but after my experience at Hondenpijl I have the idea that the staff themselves do not know that completely either. When we walked in, my grandfather and grandmother were already sitting at the back at the long table against the wall. A bit of a dark place and it was a birthday. The atmosphere would have been a lot more pleasant if there had been some candles and a few small flowers on the table. Now we arrived at a long empty dark brown one at the back of the restaurant at a dark place. Not very pleasant. With a large group it is often also useful if there are already some carafes and glasses of water at the table. That also looks very hospitable. Then you can also let everyone in first and they are provided with a first sip and you give your staff some time. You don't see that difference on the bill, but you can then make orders better in one go instead of all separate receipts. (Also nice for the issues) My grandmother (80 years old) called to make this reservation, she is already a bit older. She wanted different snacks and then a kind of bread/cheese/quiche platter was chosen. She wanted there to always be something on the table. But after 8 times the same platter you also feel like something different. The restaurant staff could have advised her a bit more when making this reservation. For example, that they asked: would you like some jugs of water with that? And oh maybe it would be nice to have a bit more different choices in terms of snacks? That it would be made a bit more of a party and a bit more guidance. There was a lot of new staff who were actually left to their own devices. My mother also asked for ice in her ginger lemonade (which are very poor glasses for the price) and she got her glass without ice. When she asked why, the waitress replied that they don't do that because it's bad for the stomach. In my experience, the customer is king and he or she can decide for themselves what is and isn't bad for the stomach... All in all, the ambiance was nice and they executed their concept well. There are just a few finishing touches that could make the experience a little better. The staff was at least present and visible.

Unfortunately for us, a coffee concert was held today so only a very limited lunch menu was available. We first had a cup of coffee served in an earthenware mug made by a local artist. The price of coffee is probably now too high to serve anything with it. So a bit bald. We chose the egg wrap and a meatball sandwich. The egg wrap looked great and tasted accordingly. The meatball was unfortunately disappointing, probably too much rusk or breadcrumbs used in the preparation and therefore little taste. The accompanying salad was fantastic, colorful and, just like the sandwich, very tasty..

I only had coffee here, but the decor and how it was served is very homely and nice. Nice location to visit as a break from a walk or bike ride. Activities are also regularly organized in the church attached to it. The menu is organic.

Had lunch here this afternoon. Super nice location with lots of light. The service was very friendly, but was hasty in taking orders. The price-quality ratio was really great, I got a full plate with toast, vegetables and salad for 10 euros. But unfortunately there was a hairball in my food. This was well received because they offered to make something different. A positive experience all around. Definitely come back here again.

Recommended! beautiful ambiance, atmospheric and as if they had put a lock on it 60 years ago and now made it accessible to us again... Take a step back in time and see what a great conservatory and delicious dishes. On to the Fado concert in the church! Ps…. the parking attendants deserve a ribbon (in this cold wind) but also give them a nice warm chocolate milk and a big hug, what a great place!

The lunch tasting was tasty, pricey but far too little and given the other options and prices the ratio does not seem logical. We went for a place in the conservatory, upon arrival we were guided to another room that was not shown in the photos at first impression. Felt strange from the controls. It was chilly, there was no one there and it was very reverberating. Not worth it and feels misleading. Coffee and cake in the conservatory, I might try that again, but the taste is also gone...

Nice restaurant with home grown food from the garden.

As described in several reviews here: this restaurant is against vaccinations. In addition, it offers space for all kinds of quack initiatives (see the broadcast of Tim Hofman's BOOS, which at the end refers to podcasts recorded at Op Hodenpijn). Do they actually practice food hygiene, you wonder? English: warning: this restaurant has actively been discouraging people to get approved for years. This is described in various reviews here as well as elsewhere online.

1) I made a lunch reservation. The rude, small man with dark hair at the front couldn’t find the reservation and gruffly told us we had to go to a different area. 2) With no apology, we were taken to a very strange back room that felt like a cult meeting room. Lots of creepy pseudo religious artwork etc. 3) We ordered drinks and got the kids settled only to be told we had to move to a different table because someone more important needed our table. Again, no apology and no help moving all our drinks. I let the guy know it was annoying and he was super rude about it. We moved, but no one ever came and occupied the original table. Honestly, just strange. 4) I ordered a plain burger for my son and explained I wanted nothing on it but sauce. It arrived with everything on it. (Bad service.) 5) The food (with exception of the bread) was bland and VERY overpriced. 6) The whole place is full of very odd signage about paranormal activity and “wellness”. Super culty vibes. Creepy for the kids. Overall, one of the worst and most bizarre dining experiences in years. Avoid.

A nice restaurant surrounded by greenery

Space with a cozy conservatory feeling. Excellent apple pie and scone with a good cup of coffee. Also a nice shop with regional products.

The salad with beetroot and goat cheese, nuts and edible flowers was delicious! The service is smooth, friendly and attentive. The surroundings are beautiful, especially on a beautiful late summer afternoon.

The drink and the snack board are pricey, not much choice, but it was doable during the Corona years because of 'Heart for freedom'... Nowadays you are no longer allowed to smoke outside on the terrace, there is one table right at the beginning and the dirtiest spot on the terrace and you are no longer allowed to smoke at any table outside in the enormous garden. So that's it, 'Heart for freedom'. Nowadays, as a smoker on Hodenpijn you are still excluded, there is still no legal obligation to ban smokers from a terrace, so we prefer to spend our money elsewhere.

I keep coming here for the peace, nature and the beautiful art deco interior! The apple pie is baked by the care farm, tastes fresh and contains nuts. I so appreciate that they don't serve soggy frozen pie. That's how it should be!

On Sundays they only have the Sunday menu and not everything else on the menu. How disappointing.

Very attractive catering establishment in a cute village near the big cities. We came here for lunch and decided to order the lunch tasting of more than €20 per person, this was a huge disappointment because of the boring flavors and the meager amount of food (small soup with pieces of bread which is on the menu for €4, with 2 small spreads and 2 small pieces of quiche). Recommended for the location, but not for the food.

Nice location, but you always have to wait and see whether you can get what you want there. When it's busy they close the kitchen to new customers and you can only get some peanuts. Very limited beer list.

Beautiful large conservatory where you can relax. The atmosphere is great, provided you can withstand floating. Food tastes great, all ingredients from close by and almost all organic. The only point of criticism is the sometimes modest portions. Staff is friendly and helpful. Make sure you bring a well-filled wallet.

Leuk, gezellig en er staat geen druk op. Het eten was niet als de prijs deed vermoeden. We kwamen er ietwat bekaaid vanaf. Weet niet of ik snel nog eens kom voor de lunch, maar een kopje thee is altijd welkom. Nog steeds een bijzondere omgeving waar ik mij prettig voel.

The food is always delicious, but it's a pity that the bread with the salad only came when our salad was already finished.

Bestelling was 2 x cappuccino met een 1 appeltaart en 1 tarte tatin peer. De tarte tatin was 4 bij 4 cm en geen peer te vinden was meer een klein stukje cake. Maar wel 17.50 afreken! Overal staan spreuken op krijtborden en er is geen sfeer. Voor mij de laaste keer Op Hodenpijlen.

Op zich is dit een fijne plek, in alle rust, leuke omgeving met een leuke winkel inbegrepen. Samen met mijn man ging ik hier lunchen, op zoek naar een stukje rust in ons zeer hectische gezin op dit moment, even quality time was het idee. Ik vond het echter zeer vervelend dat allerlei "wappie" ideeën aan ons opgedrongen werden. Een groot krijtbord bij de ingang riep al op om het angstvirus te niet te geloven, twee borden op elke tafel met allerlei spreuken (over mensen met macht die dit gebruiken tegen anderen) en ook nog meerdere krijtborden op de bar met allerlei corrigerende negatieve spreuken ("geld is alleen uitgevonden om belasting te innen"). Wat in potentie een goede plek is, wordt onderuitgehaald door deze opgedrongen denkbeelden. Mijn advies: mensen komen hier om te ontmoeten, te praten, elkaar te zien en voor de rust van de plek. Als ik geïndoctrineerd wil worden zoek ik dat zelf wel op. Nog een advies: fiets iets langer door naar het centrum van Delft, daar zijn diverse leuke tentjes, op een leuk plein of een straatje, met vrolijke mensen die je ziet genieten van een middagje uit.

My first visit here and I liked the quality of the food. Nice friendly service and a relaxed atmosphere. It’s worth looking through the attached church and you can climb right up into the tower.

The food is not bad, but sometimes just a bit too vegetarian/vegan for me. I think the Sunday menu is limited, a (vegetarian) croquette would not be out of place. I think the atmosphere is great!

Ordered soup, tasted like nothing, sent it back, had to wait half an hour for the next course with am excuse that they had to bake glutenfree bread while there was enough bread next to tbe soup. After asking for my meal some old lady came and put her hand on my shoulder which i didnt like, withdrew myself, she says ooh you dont like that, like she talks to a child, after bringing the food she puts her hands on my shoulder again. I felt intimidated and discriminated, will never ever come here again. I knew i was going to be punished for sending the soup back cause i was wearing a headscarf. My colleauge sent a mail explaining how i felt, treated badly, they didnt respond at all. I face this kind of behaviour all the time but wasnt expecting in such a place. Maybe it's an idea let your people follow some of the workshops you are providing. Such a shame

Wonderful place. Organic food, friendly staff. Recommended! With one critical note: my husband asked for a mini jug of hot water with the espresso to possibly make it a little less strong. No less than €1 was charged for this! We have never experienced that in any catering company!

Nice place for a company meeting

Well, as a convinced carnivore, you go to eat at Hoden Pijl as a gift for my birthday and choose a lunch, put together by the chef, which is completely vegetarian. I was pleasantly surprised, not only was it a generous portion but it tasted and looked absolutely fantastic too. Only thought the celeriac soup was so-so, my wife makes it better. For the rest, a journey of discovery through various flavors, so enjoy and enjoy. Delicious cappuccino, extremely friendly service that was super fast despite the completely full room

Het is heel leuk om hier te zijn . Veel biologische producten, ook te koop . Er is steeds een terugkerende expositie.Zeker de moeite waard om met een gezelschap iets te vieren!

Once again we had a wonderful evening with Tilly and Dirk. Before a performance by singer Do, we first had a delicious meal and then Do took care of it with her team for a great evening of Christmas music. Really great!

Landgoed Op Hodenpijl is een fantastische trouwlocatie met een kerk uit 1840 die prachtig gerestaureerd is. Serviceniveau is zeer hoog. Hoe leuk is het om met een bootje aan te komen bij je trouwlocatie! Aanrader voor trouwers :-)

Prachtige plek voor ontmoetingen en workshops. Een bio winkeltje ah restaurant. Heerlijke kaas en appelsap te koop. De bediening is wat traag, maar verder een hele fijn restaurant naast de kerk waar mooie mantra's worden afgespeeld.

Mooie ambiance, vriendelijk personeel.

Prima eten. Mooie lokatie. Op zich goede herbestemming van een kerk. Ik had wel moeite met de schelpen die er te koop lagen, waarop een anti-godsdienst spreuk stond, waarmee dan vaak het christendom wordt bedoeld. Hierdoor zal niet iedereen zich even welkom voelen.

We gaan hier nog wel eens naar een optreden, soms met een aansluitend etentje. Het is een prachtige locatie met een prima keuken, we komen hier erg graag. 5 sterren!

Dit magische kerkje is absoluut mijn favoriete plek. De sfeer doet wat met me. De pure, vegetarische maaltijden zijn vers uit eigen keuken. De sfeer is, ook in het restaurant, laissez faire.

Moet heel lang wachten voor een koffie. Eten was niks bijzonder, brood heel droog.

Fijne plek maar koffie onder de maat en een druivencake om van te huilen: naar beneden gezakte druiven onder een normale omacake.. wel een prachtige locatie om te vertoeven en aardig personeel.

Fantastisch mooie plek. Je verwacht niet zo'n mooie plaats vanaf de weg. Heerlijk rustig en verzorgd.

Ziet er gezellig uit maar de service is heel slecht . Tijdens een festival weekend waar het heel druk was en veel te weinig personeel een kadoobon proberen te halen . Mevrouw achter de kassa moest en de drankjes maken voor alle weet ik veel hoeveel tafeltjes er staan plus de hele rij helpen waaronder ik die een kadobon wou van 40 euro . Ze kon de bonnen niet vinden en er zat niemand op het kantoor ik denk improviseer dan wat . Dus ben weggegaan zonder bon. Ik zou geen festivallen organiseren als je en geen personeel heb en wat er staat snapt ook niks. Zonde van de mooie locatie .
