We had a delicious meal before going to the Ziggo Dome

We (about 10 people) were here recently for high tea. The private room we were in was beautifully decorated and the service was good, but we found the food rather bland. As a starter, we were given broth, which was just water. It was very tasty, though. For the main course, we each got three mini rolls (the kind you buy in the supermarket for Easter) with a slice of cheese and a lettuce leaf. I thought this was really very meager. For dessert, we got a few mini pastries (about 3cm x 3cm) and a scone. Drinks consisted of one glass of champagne, tea, and water. For 40 euros per person, I definitely wouldn't recommend this. When we got home (30 meters later), we were hungry again.

What a lovely café with a warm atmosphere! The coffee was top-notch, and the latte art was beautiful. I ordered a toasted sandwich with aged cheese and tomato soup—simple but perfectly prepared. The service was cheerful and polite. The tables by the window offered a beautiful view of the street. There was a relaxed atmosphere, which made me stay longer than planned. The background music was calm and pleasant. Everything felt personal and well-cared for. A place you'll want to return to.

Quality/price ratio seems slightly out of whack, i.e. detrimental to the customer. Service was just average, due to probably inexperienced staff. Finding a parking space was a real challenge, as getting to the nearest parking lot was a long roundabout drive and during (early winter) darkness difficult to discern where parking was exactly possible and/or allowed due to a total lack of light-up signs giving the necessary indications. When rethrning to my car, I found I got fined €104 for being parked in a space that turned out nót to belong to the parking lot facility. If it wasn't for the pleasant company I kept, I would certainly have categorized it to be one of my less enjoyable evenings out.b

Dear Paardenburg staff, On October 4th, I turned 60 and celebrated at your beautiful garden house. From the moment I walked in, I was enchanted. The beautiful round tables were so beautifully set, the atmosphere, the decorations—what a fairytale-like location. The 6-course meal for 80 people was perfect for everyone. It was so delicious, everyone enjoyed it, and the speed with which it was served was truly amazing. 👏 Afterward, the hall was transformed into a party venue. I was amazed at how quickly and organized everything went. I want to thank everyone: the cheerful bar staff, the lovely waitresses, and the chefs who prepared the food so well. And absolutely Marco & Sera, you made and carried this event. It couldn't have been more beautiful. Thank you so much for your dedication. 👏👏 And the venue is a dream. A convenient place for lunch/dinner. Food is just so-so

TOP SERVICE!!! Last time, we were given a table next to a door with a lot of traffic, so this time we requested a quieter spot so my grandfather could hear the conversations. And we certainly got that. We were surprised with a private dining room. This was partly because there was a wedding dinner going on downstairs, but for us, it was absolutely perfect. And of course, the food was delicious again.

A nice place to sit but the latte coffee I had was quite average in quality.

We went for a business dinner, service was nice, although a bit delayed with service etc. Excellent food and atmosphere, close to the river. Garden looks great, but it was too cold to sit outside.

Six months ago, I reported that we had to wait too long several times during dinner. Yesterday, I had lunch at Paardenburg and found that the wait hasn't improved. The man on the terrace was very friendly and welcoming, but the woman who poured me a glass of wine was careless and spilled the wine. We waited 45 minutes between the starter and the main course. Moreover, my main course (cauliflower) was lukewarm. So, we won't be returning. Paardenburg is a place with pretensions that don't live up to them.

Everything is really delicious and nice! Service is very good.

Attention makes everything better. And that's exactly what I missed. I had the truffle risotto; how much better would it have been (at this location) to have the truffle shaved at the table? I wouldn't have paid extra for that, because the prices are excellent. We also ordered bread to eat while waiting, which arrived at the same time as the risotto. The bread came with rock-hard butter, oil, and no salt to be found. I found the service rushed and impersonal. Water (paid tap water) was immediately on the table. Wine was offered once, but I didn't ask for it again, despite an empty glass. Even though it was lunch, I would definitely have had a second glass. The waiter dropped a bottle of wine in a cooler next to our table. They quickly wiped it up and didn't ask any questions. Hopefully, white wine doesn't stain linen trousers.

Had a wonderful lunch on the sunny terrace. Next time I'll make a reservation for the indoor dining room because it looks beautiful too.

A super fun place, right on the Amstel River. A delicious menu with a wide selection and very friendly and cheerful service. Without wanting to disrespect the others, a special thanks to Anouk 😘 Our granddaughter loved picking up her food and ice cream from the kitchen with Anouk! We enjoyed the food, drinks, and each other. Highly recommended!

Luxuous venue with a covered terrace along the water canal Amstel. Accurate and attentive service provided by friendly, non pushing staff. Price of preferred light food is challenging given the earned reputation of the wellknown Brassery. Its oysters and Cava are prepared and served once again with quality. Where do I even begin? 🤯 20-minute wait for the menu (after flagging someone down!), then another 30 minutes for our order (same story!). The "pretentious" €30 chicken leg was disappointing, incomplete, and took another 30 minutes! 😡 For those prices, the quality and service should be EXCEPTIONAL, not mediocre and terrible. We had lunch here last Sunday, June 8th, with 2 people. Theme was Saint-Tropez. They had put straw hats on various tables to use during the meal. (which we did) Unfortunately it was inside because of the weather. But the atmosphere, inside or outside, is always good here. They had a delicious menu . Enjoy. And..... nice wines. Super nice place! We were 4 people, we had not made a reservation, but after half an hour we were able to get a nice spot on the water. Delicious food, but you have to pay a lot for the fries, vegetables and other side dishes. 6.50 euros for a bowl of fries and also 6.50 euros for a bowl of vegetables.

Had lunch. Atmosphere and ambiance are excellent. Operation not very careful. The dish, a crab cocktail sandwich with apple, was generously topped with… lettuce. But the crab cocktail was a bit poor. Not to mention next to nothing. Two decent sandwiches, with three dessert spoons of crab cocktail per sandwich. Tasty, but completely insignificant between the bread and lettuce. For 14.50 I think you can expect a little more. The main courses are also quite expensive individually, but I don't dare take that gamble anymore. Unfortunately, for such a beautiful restaurant.

We had a delicious meal there and were immediately welcomed! Anouk served us all evening and what a nice woman she is! We found the gentleman who poured us the wines very disinterested. But we will definitely come back for Anouk and the delicious food!

Looks nicer than it is. Food is of mediocre quality and quite expensive for what they serve. It was very quiet in the shop on Friday evening and I didn't think that was strange. If I go to dinner with two people and receive a bill for €170, there are certain expectations.

We had dinner here yesterday. Beautiful historic location. The staff was extremely nice and friendly and we certainly had a great time. Sadly they had a bit of an issue with the timing because my food (lamb neck) and some fries were lukewarm at best..But the taste was great so 4⭐️ anyway. Will be back for lunch with my mother in the near future.

I’m very sorry to say that our experience at Paardenburg last night was disappointing, and I feel compelled to give it a 3 out of 5. Unfortunately, the atmosphere felt unwelcoming, and the staff’s attitude came across as unexpectedly rude. We were there to celebrate a dear friend's 50th birthday, a truly special occasion. We specifically chose Paardenburg because it has always been our go-to place for memorable celebrations, and until now, we’ve always had wonderful experiences. Regrettably, last night did not live up to those standards. Out of respect for our friend and the occasion, we chose not to raise any concerns at the time, so as not to dampen the mood. However, it's only fair to be honest and say that, based on this experience, we will no longer consider Paardenburg for our future celebrations.

Rude staff with huge apologies! Especially that woman who stood outside on the terrace on Sunday in black covered in dog/cat hair, how poor.

The response to the question whether there was room on the terrace without a reservation was arrogant and giggly. After an unnecessarily sarcastic response, it turned out that there was still a spot available. We got up and continued looking because we were left with a strange aftertaste from this customer-unfriendly approach. Moreover, the service also looked rather dingy (animal hair on clothing, etc.)

Unfortunately we didn't have a good experience. There was a lack of care. At times, staff did not know who had ordered what or simply forgot to bring orders, both to us and to the guests around us. Dishes took a very long time to be served. Once something was served, the waiter couldn't even tell us what was in the dish. Staff has a very nonchalant attitude and lacks professionalism, while you would expect that for the price. There is also no attention to detail: wrinkled sheets, wobbly tables, not enough cutlery laid out for the number of courses you get, coats that are hung up on arrival but then not given on departure, etc. Apart from that, I didn't think the food was high quality either, but that could be a matter of taste. The fact is that I found up to 6 bones in my piece of fish. This simply indicates carelessness and a real disregard for delivering quality. The only plus is that it is a beautiful building with a nice interior.

We had a delicious meal with very pleasant service! A real evening out! We also received a nice tour because we might want to organize our wedding party at Paardenburg.

The terrace is stunning in summer, and the inside of the restaurant has a chique look and feel to it. Food is of good quality, especially for the price you pay. Most dishes are classics but always tasty and prepared properly. Service can be a bit slow as most of the team is quite young.

It's a really beautiful location, outside the city with paid parking options. 3-course menu €49.50 per person. The wines are a bit pricey. Some glasses cost €10, but they are good glasses. Food was generally good! Only the fish was not completely cooked, I didn't say anything about it because it was only the middle and because it couldn't do any harm in terms of health. Service was okay - the lady was all alone in front of a full conservatory. I find that quite intense, given that I also worked in the catering industry. Making drinks, delivering drinks, receiving guests and also running food seems very stressful to me, so service could use reinforcement.

Ate here on Boxing Day, a fairytale place on the Amstel with excellent, knowledgeable waiters. A delicious Christmas dinner with 7 courses. The time between the different courses was well proportioned. Well done by kitchen and waiting staff. Please keep it up!

Had a wonderful evening in Paardenburg. Balanced choices on the menu. Paardenburg is one of the few restaurants that has duck liver on the menu and it is prepared perfectly here. The guinea fowl was star worthy and my favorite fish, monkfish, was super delicious. The service is charming and efficient.

At Paardenburg they don't understand the concept of table reservations. They know how to make table reservations, and they know how to confirm. But they don't know how to hold the table reservations. And that is actually the most important part of the reservation, the HOLDING. It looks like anybody can take your reservation. If they would understand what a reservation is I would have a table.

In addition to a restaurant, it is also a meeting location. A beautiful location, especially for wine lovers, with many famous wines. View of the Amstel and personal service.

Had high tea for a friend's birthday last Friday. I expected much more from the high tea, for what I paid...shame. The service was friendly, but a little more self-care would be nice. The sandwiches were tasty, but otherwise no attention was paid to them and they were nicely dressed. We had to ask ourselves where our sweets were... it really took too long. All in all, we are very sorry that it was disappointing for both of us.

For the 2nd year in a row we come here as part of the Bokkentocht Ouderkerk. Paardenburg definitely stands out positively with the snack with the beer. Last year guinea fowl (divine) and this year deer with red cabbage, again fantastic. Very pure flavors that are beautifully combined. This is a reason for me to come and eat here soon. And the staff was alert and very hospitable, nice!

I hosted a dinner here of 35 people and service, food and staff attitude was all superb and we had a great evening.

Even though it looks cozy and the plates are beautifully laid out, there are some disappointments... - As chic as everything looks, the service comes across as 'peasant', no matter how friendly, speaking less vulgarly is allowed if you try to maintain a neat appearance... - 3 of my 5 companions had diarrhea after dinner... a bit of a shame. -The drills looked great and tasted good. - We chose the 4-course 'chef's menu'. Unfortunately, when we served it, we were not told what we were getting... The boy who served it did not know how to tell us either... missed opportunity. All in all it looks better than it is...

Delicious dishes, friendly service and beautiful location on the water

I've been here a few times and the dishes were very salty. The sauces, meat, fish and poultry were already very salty and then the chef also threw salt over the entire plate. The dishes are classic, but the presentation is very old-fashioned. Desserts include Paardenburg chocolate dessert. so you expect something. You get a scoop of chocolate mousse!!! The cook really needs to retire! And then the manager...... he doesn't feel like it either. Not a friendly man at all and certainly does not belong in a restaurant, but rather in a sports canteen.

Horses for Courses Back on the Amstel for a family lunch. From the 6 white wines by the glass the Macon - Loche seemed like a good all-rounder, but when the grilled sea bream with saffron risotto and lobster sauce arrived, it was clear the Macon was not up to the job. I ordered a bottle of St Joseph blanc (Y. Cuilleron) with high hopes. The head server eventually returned with 3 bottles in his arms. The St Joseph was not in stock. From the 3 alternatives the Chateauneuf-du- Pape blanc was the best bet. Once poured and tasted the perfect trifecta was achieved. Right wine , right food , right company.

We were in the Amstel room for a business meeting, perfect! They had delicious sandwiches and soup.

Had a great evening with the four of us. Enjoy sitting by the water on the cozy terrace of Paardenburg. I started with a delicious truffle soup, my husband with a veal ragout (see photo). As a main course I had a very soft and combination of gently cooked brisket and pink roasted tenderloin (see photo) with salad and tasty fries😋 Welcoming and attentive service. All in all, I give a 10 out of 10 for the entire evening By the way, the coffee was also very tasty and even tastier because it is served with a very small glass of coffee liqueur with whipped cream.... You can't make me happier!

I went here to have a business lunch. Nice place with a spacious terrace on the waterside. A compact but inspiring menu. Food quality is good. Service is kind and quick. And everything is clean. Definitely will come back here with my wife for dinner.

Horrible place. 75 eur per person fixed menu. The menu was not the one agreed, they changed it completely by mistake, and the menu we had in the end was much worse than the one we paid for...I have never seen such a bad service in my life. Only one guy was attending us good. The first course came after 45 minutes, but the worse part is that we had to wait more than 1 hour since we finished the first course till the second came. We ask the manager and never apologized, in the other way around , she was very rude in all her answers. One of the waitresses was chatting in the terrace for 20 minutes while the restaurant was full. We were exactly 3 hours to finalize the dinner. Wine was terrible too. Very bad experience.

I had an À la carte three-course menu here last Friday as a surprise for my mother. I regularly cycle past here on my racing bike, but now I wanted to experience it from the inside. What I can say is that the welcome was ok by the maitre'd and we were well helped and advised by the service. It was quite quiet for a Friday evening so we fully enjoyed the well-coordinated food and the quiet atmosphere. Definitely worth repeating... Once again our compliments to the kitchen.

Delicious meal with a large group. Fine wines and friendly service. The room that was rented was perfect for the size of our group and very attractively decorated. Great night!

If you have guests waiting a long time for their dessert because there is a large group you want to serve first, be proactive and offer a drink on the house for the wait or a round of coffee afterwards. Now we were waiting for a long time and the announcement that the group had now been served and that we are therefore going to start with your dessert afterwards, was a bit like “you are less important” and according to you it is all about hospitality in the catering industry?

Anuk gave us fantastic service at this lovely restaurant in Amstelveen . The food was great and the wine superb . Anuk was attentive and even assisted going the xtra mile in keeping a parcel for a pick up from a friend . Lx
