Good food with authentic Indian flavors . Great ambiance. We ordered thali and everything tasted really fresh and tasty . Service was quite slow . There were only 2 people taking care of whole place so it took a lot of time to get to you . But if you have time it’s a good place to try out .

We had a great meal here. The food was excellent and seating right on the water. Would be nice to lighten up the exterior, but we were really happy with the service food and location.

I wanted to pay with a gift card, but it turned out to be impossible. So I used my debit card... Later I found out that the restaurant had actually debited the €50 from my card. Too bad.

Excellent and authentic Indian restaurant with a great menu. The starters are fabulous, you need to try the mushrooms! I had beef Vindaloo, which is marked as hot. Unlike German Indian restaurants, it is indeed hot (which I like) so watch out. The service is excellent and forthcoming. We sat at the large table at the window, which has a very cozy atmosphere

Ate here by chance during a weekend away. We had made a reservation at Loetje's but quickly ran away, it was much too busy. Ended up at India Port, had a delicious meal. Nice staff who show that they really work hard to please everyone. Recommended!!

Delicious food, even though we had to be patient for a (reserved) table upon arrival, it was absolutely great. The food was perfect and the host did everything he could to make it to your liking. It was a bit on the cold side at the back of the restaurant, so dress warmly if you eat here in the fall or winter.

The inside of the restaurant is not much. Service could be better. The food was delicious! Tried various dishes and they tasted excellent.

I have lived in India myself and tried many restaurants in the Netherlands. But few can really match the cuisine of India. Port of India certainly does. I had the vegetarian rice table and my friend the lamb rice table. Real Indian tase, finger licking good. My favorite is palik paneer, but the lamb was also delicious. I won't eat Indian anywhere else from now on, highly recommended.

Reservation did not go through, unfriendly reception and waited more than an hour for the food, the food was very tasty. Afterwards we had to wait 15 minutes for coffee which was lukewarm and sent back. At checkout a cynical answer when I said something about the coffee. Never again

Giving it three stars just because of the experience. We go to India port just to see all the boats pass by and therefore like every customer prefer the seats towards the river . Even though there were available tables near the river the person didn't provide us the seats because he first checked what we would eat and when we informed that we would have light snacks he made sure we sat towards the other end .

Overpriced food. Terrible service and the waiting staff was really rude to us. The portion sizes are small and overpriced not to mention lacks flavour. The music choice is terrible. Would not recommend. Please go to better Indian places closer to Amsterdam. The nail on the coffin was the staff who charged us 9 euros for birthday candle and plates for cake and responded extremely rudely upon politely inquiring about it. Please train your staff better

Delicious food and friendly service. Ate outside on the terrace in the summer. It's a shame that people are still smoking on the terrace. That is very annoying.

I recently visited India port ] and was thoroughly impressed. The lamb shank was tender and bursting with flavor, while the butter chicken was rich and creamy, perfectly balanced with spices. The food and presentation are ok. I ordered a Lamb Shank and what they brought was beautiful and tasty but not sure it was lamb. It tasted more like goat or adult sheep. And the size of the shank didn't look like one of a lamb. We had to wait a lot of time to order, even the drinks. The atmosphere was fine, a lot of Indian furniture which are beautiful. The staff was very friendly.

Last Sunday (Mother's Day) we had a lovely meal outside on the beautiful terrace. Food was really delicious, but spicy 🌶️ Service was very friendly.

This is an Indian food oriented restaurant. I am just entering this cuisine, but for now, this is the best place I have eaten in. Everything I received was freshly done, and the aromas were amazing while not overpowering. The service was very nice, speaking both English and Dutch. I will return for sure.

Taste of food is good, location is excellent, ambience is excellent. One thing which can be improved is the quantity, felt less compared to what we are used to in other restaurants. Otherwise very good restaurant, enjoyed the Goan fish curry, Samosa and mix of their home made dessert 🍨

Being placed in the conservatory with two people at a table of 8+ is a strange choice. Fortunately it could be solved with a table in the restaurant. Food is good, part of the menu is selection of Indian desserts. The reality is two mini containers that you can share. Not the best ending to a beautiful evening.

This is an outstanding restaurant. I see why this restaurant has a loyal following. We had the stuffed mushrooms, blue cheese naan, laccha paratha, butter chicken, paneer tikka and malai kofta. The food is absolutely outstanding. India Port is one of my top 3 favorite Indian restaurants in the world (including India). Wine selections are expansive. The decor and ambience is beautiful, crisp and welcoming. I would eat here every day if I could. You must go here!

Found this gem of a restaurant by chance and cannot give anything less than 5 stars. The food was delicious and the service was brilliant also. We only came away for a short 5 day break but we had to fit in a second visit to this place it was that good !!!

Very disappointed with our first experience with India Port. Ordered via Uber Eats. The Chicken Tikka Masala was not tasty. The chicken tasted like it had been brined, it was over cooked and extremely dry and hard. Not succulent like a tikka masala should be. The sauce was sweet and we couldn’t get the essence of Indian spices like we are used to in Indian cuisine. The sauce was also a bit congealed. The Garlic Naan was too greasy. The Saag Wala Murgh was average

Went with a group of friends to India Port! Tried a variety of dishes and all of them were awesome. The lamb biryani, kadhai chicken and vindaloo were outstanding. The deserts topped off the evening ….

Any time we visit the Netherlands, we make it a point to go to India Port at least once. We've visited this India Port location a few times. The owners service patrons with warmth and homely touch very few restaurants do. The food taste and quality has amazed us every time we've been there. The location on the water, quiet and serene atmosphere away from the touristy crowds is just amazing. They went so far as to cook the food to accommodate the timing of various family members joining us. I would strongly encourage trying this place, if you haven't already.

Delicious food in attractive surroundings

My wife and I visited the Restaurant India Port aan de Amstel for the first time. We lived in Ouderkerk and we can simply walk to the restaurant. We heard good recommendation about this restaurant from a golf shop owner. We decided to try it out this evening. We had been looking for a good Indian restaurant for a while. We tried two other Indian restaurants so far and we were not very happy with the food and service. When we visited the Restaurant India Port aan de Amstel, we liked the food, the service, and the atmosphere. We saw a few Indian families dinning in this restaurants. Then, we knew that we made the right choice. It has extensive menu and the food was very delicious. We will definitely come back again soon.

With a Groupon the price-quality ratio is excellent. The food is good. Especially if you like spicy.

BAD!!!! First a chair against my head, because it had to be moved to another table. While there were plenty of other free seats around. Service is poor, walks past your table 10 times, doesn't clear the table, doesn't ask if everything is to your liking. And the highlight of the evening, selling Fuze tea with an expiration date of March 2022. Called in staff, who nonchalantly responded with I'll take it off the bill. SHAME!!!!!

The food is great but we waited a whole hour for it. I was then wrongly served a meat dish despite being vegetarian and not having ordered it. The service and professionalism was lacking. Still worth a visit for the nice location!

Yesterday we were introduced to Indian cuisine at India Port and we really enjoyed it. We had chosen the more extensive rice table and ate all the bowls. There were also some spicy dishes, which we particularly liked. Nice service too.

Delicious food for a very reasonable price 🏆

Disappointment. The room was very cold: 1 electric heater is far too little to warm the room. We had to wait 1.15 hours for our food. We had a menu including dessert. This dessert was a kind of yogurt and turned out to be served at the same time as the main course, where we thought this was a yogurt dip for the vegetables. This was not explained in advance. So all in all too many setbacks. Staff cannot speak Dutch and they are also poor at English.

We had ordered for a group of people Indian food. All vegan. It was excellent and tasty. Spicy, hot and tasteful! a Lot of food. The service also very friendly. My second time here, I'll be back ;) In the summer sitting outside, near the water must be lovely I guess. I really can recommend them for who'm loves authentic Indian food :D

Went there for dinner on a weekday evening after work and had an excellent experience. We'd booked a table but it didn't seem busy, and the staff seemed very attentive and friendly. I ordered the non veg Thali which exceeded expectations, it was one of the best I've ever had! The decor was beautiful, I love the swing you can sit on inside the restaurant. There's paid public parking nearby so easy to get to by car also.

Booking of tables was easy. The ambience was very Indian. The staff is friendly, though the serving time was on the higher side. The appetizers were good, the main course was tasty and the sweets were not that great. The serving portions are good to serve two average eaters.

Had a great evening! We went here on a busy Saturday evening, but were able to just walk in. Contrary to several reviews, everything went at a good pace, not too fast and not too slow. Food was very tasty and tasty. The plus point for us is that the portions are not too large, so it was just enough. Lots of choice from all kinds of tasty dishes. The only downside we found was that the small containers with sauces cost 3 euros each, which is on the high side. But 5 stars for the entire evening, we will definitely be back.

One of the best Indian restaurants in town - both in terms of quality and taste. Always had a great experience with friendly staff and service. Authentic tastes, along with some very uniquely made dishes (eg. paneer stuffed capsicum, tikkas, various desserts) that offer great variety. The view over river is very relaxing too!

Food is tasty, however quantity vs price isn't justified. Mix platter costing 16.5 eur had ONLY 5 HALF pieces of 3 non veg and 1 veg, I wouldn't be paying more than half for that you charge. Same applicable across all dishes. Soup costing 8 eur for less than half a bowl ( already small bowl) Staff can be trained, on how to handle crockery and not thrash it on the table. Service can be better, when getting food where breads arrive prior to curries. Hygiene needs improvement, flies yes not 1 but 4 of them, with no arrangement to handle them.

Amazing place! Wonderful service, mouth watering Indian food. The place is a bit far from the city, but the drive and the waterfront setting make up for it. Highly recommended. They also serve large groups and know how to handle a crowd.

Good food and location, would recommend. A bit on the expensive side. Just pay attention if you order the Thaali (rice table) they don't write in there what's spicy and what's not. Also, in that case, ordering some extra rice (especially if it's for sharing) is recommended.

Not a good experience, esp with Ms Lakhveer, who denied what she said to us. We ordered Butter Chicken which was not very good. When we gave our feedback to Ms. Lakhveer (do not exactly know the pronunciation of name), she instead of accepting about the food said “Bacchon ka khana hai Butter chicken” (Butter chicken is kid’s food). We personally feel if you are coming from Amsterdam, there is no point of coming here, go to Sherpa at Leidsplein. They make Butter chicken for adults and extremely delicious. Also India Port at Utrecht is extremely good. It is just that Lakhveer here at “Aan de Amstel” is not doing a good job. Since taking feedback is also a quality. After I said I am writing a review about this, she simply denied that she even said it. Not a good experience at all.

Had a delicious Indian meal today.

Indian lamb rice table, my friend had the mixed one, it was delicious. Good flavors. 1 minus, asked for some table water. The bottle of Spa water was pointed out, but I indicated that tap water was okay. 2.50 was charged for this.

Food taste okayish. Service is really poor. 30min after order they announced the starters cannot be served. Then we waited another 1hr for the main course. Prices are sky high and definitely not worth. Wont be back.

Amazing traditional Indian restaurant in neighbourhood of Amstelveen. The place was very busy, despite that staff was able to attend & serve the clients so well. The food was delicious and staff was excellent. Special thanks to Mrs L Singh for fabulous hospitality. Strongly recommend this place to everyone else. It's worth visiting & spending an afternoon in the summers.
