Hi, to follow up on the previous review. Your team at the restaurant said “ no we don’t have a gluten free section in our kitchen “ and that it is written in the menu “ we can’t guarantee cross contamination”. They weren’t friendly about it easier. I don’t think you should mark your place as gluten free friendly or have a dedicated menu for it that makes people think they’re safe to eat there while they’re not. It is not just a food preference. We have Coeliac and people get really sick from gluten. Thank you

c’est sur une rue sympa, l’intérieur est sobre mais pas glauque, le service est d’abord étrange puis finalement très bien, c’est tout petit mais on est placés assez rapidement, nous avons attendu à peine 5 minutes. ce sont là les meilleurs pancakes parmi ceux qu’on a pu essayer à Amsterdam. nous avons pris les american pancakes et ils sont absolument délicieux, et pas si chers que ça en ce sens où les mauvais pancakes sont quasiment au même prix, à un ou deux euros près. félicitations !

Tasty food! Very friendly staff. Only very small places, so winter clothes are not always useful. It's great that the staff can function well in this! That certainly wouldn't stop us from going back!

Me encantaron estas tortitas tradicionales, diferentes coberturas que encontrarías en otros lugares. Tenía manzana de canela desmenuzada con stroopwafel aplastado absolutamente delicioso. No es barato a unos 10 euros, pero es un precio medio en Amsterdam

Highly recommended, the service was very good, it is a chill place and you can be in a very calm mood. It has MANY options for pancakes and you can also assemble them according to your taste.

Achmed was incredibly gracious and attentive. The food was on point, but thats never in doubt. We ate here four years ago on holiday and as soon as we landed this morning my wife said we had to get back to Pancakes Amsterdam. You didnt disappoint! Great menu suggestions! After our amazing meal Achmed shared a special fruit juice they had mixed up just to get our opinion. Amazing! If you are in Amsterdam, have a pancake!

We had 1 gluten free pancake with lemon & sugar. We also had a regular American style pancake with bacon (additional €2). The food was not good. The American pancake was so dry. I had to drown the pancake in syrup. The bacon was burnt and it tasted like the bottom of a pan. Very expensive to be honest.

Pancakes are a bit disappointing in Japan. Dutch pancakes are the real thing. Because the level is too high. The staff are very professional and will teach you the best way to eat, and the food is delicious.

One of the best meals we had and we had some very good ones during our short stay in Amsterdam.

We order the spinach, egg and bacon, as well as the recommended spinach, cheese and seeds with added bacon; the food was absolutely delicious, the reviews don’t serve justice for this place, it was very tasty and we have no complaints Don’t hesitate to give it a shot!

I ordered a savoury pancake (spinach, leek, mushroom, onion, and pesto, plus added cheese), and my friend ordered a sweet pancake (banana, stroopwafel crumble, and salted caramel sauce) and Dutch coffee. They were served quickly and were delicious! 😁 We visited on a midweek morning, and we were seated straight away. The restaurant was great -- very clean and well-lit -- and the staff were friendly, helping my friend when he asked about the best way to drink Dutch coffee. 😊

Very cute and cozy restaurant with excellent pancakes. They have all sorts of flavors (savory and sweet) and can make them gluten free, lactose free or vegan. You can not book at this chain so just need to be lucky to get a spot. This particular branch is quite small but it’s the nicest one. The only thing I don’t like is that they do not serve water. You have to buy a bottle for 3Eur. Even if you have another drink and something to eat. I find this not really fair to the consumer and is the only reason I don’t give them 5 stars.

We had to leave the place due to the poor service of a girl who worked there. It was our turn, we sat at a table and he answered us very rudely, saying that we had to clean it. we will not return

This place is amazing! The food is so good, and the service is incredible! The worker was so friendly and helpful, and made friends with our kids. Kids said it was the best breakfast they've ever had! We are coming back again for sure! 😊

RUDE WAITER. Today, 4 friends went to try this place because of the reviews it had, there were free tables both outside and inside. They told us to wait outside and they would call us. Nobody was calling us, there was another group of people behind us waiting who ended up going somewhere else. We decided to sit at a table that was dirty outside while one of us warned the waitress for the second time, she spoke very badly to us, and left us waiting. Just when her colleague arrived, she offered us a place but we left because we don't think it's normal to treat clients like this (we also saw that she spoke badly to her colleague), we were surprised by the character of this lady and the atmosphere. A shame! This was today, September 6 at 11.30am... we will not return nor recommend.

After being ignored by the staff for 20 minutes on the terrace, we decided to leave the place and look for another place... Too bad because it looked very promising.

Recommended by a Dutch friend so knew it would be good. Small place with limited seating, which is very cute. The pancakes were amazing really good. Highly recommended The service was good, friendly and as expected 4 stars as it needed more warmth and smiles maybe Atmosphere is fine. I rated down as there was a particularly noisy group. But that’s not the fault of the shop, however the aesthetics allow for noise travel Overall definitely go grab an amazing pancake Be aware no tap water, but the water is only 50 euro. So no big deal

It's a really sweet place, the pancakes were awesome and there's a lot to choose from (you can also create your own), the only issue is I felt I was being judged by the staff, which might be just my issue, but I don't speak dutch so I've got no idea if I actually was hahah. Overall, a great place!

En nuestro último día aquí queríamos panqueques holandeses tradicionales que también ofrecían panqueques sin gluten así que encontramos este lugar cerca de nuestro hotel. Es muy pequeño. Tuvimos que esperar mucho tiempo afuera. En el interior había una hermosa mesa roja y sillas justo al lado de un ventilador muy necesario, pero no se nos permitió sentarnos allí. Nos dirigieron a la planta superior que tiene cero circulación de aire, es extremadamente caliente incluso en un día lluvioso, y tiene bancos pequeños súper incómodos sin respaldo. Las dos camareras no eran holandesas. No hablaban holandés y su inglés no era genial. Ambos estaban enfermos (¿COVID? ) y tosían por todo el cuerpo sin máscara ni intento de cubrirse. Tardaron una eternidad en darnos menús. Tardaron una eternidad en llegar. Colocaron los dos artículos que pedí en tazones grandes encima de la tortita. Estoy bastante seguro de que los tazones estaban sentados en un mostrador sucio, así que obviamente opté por no comer la parte de la tortita en la que se sentaron. El panqueque en sí era promedio. No recomiendo venir aquí.

Lovely food with brilliant staff that happily allowed me to practice my limited Dutch with them. Overall a very chill and calm place with a lively enough atmosphere that it didn't feel dead.

Food was great! So good we went back. Tried both the Dutch and American pancakes, and the sweet Dutch were especially amazing! My family said the savory ones were great too. Lots of flavors and variety for both picky eaters and the adventurous alike. Would def come back!

Overall wasn’t a good experience. The food tasted okay if you ignore the hair in it. I arrived at the restaurant and no one greeted me even tho two waitresses were standing at the door. When they stared at me without saying anything I thought they were not open. And then I found myself a seat upstairs. The two waitresses were chitchatting and didn’t come up and take my order for quite some time. I had to go downstairs and order. Similar for another table who even arrived ahead of me. Then the waitress brought me a bottle of water without giving me the glass until I reminded her. Then the glass turned out to be dirty so I had to ask for a new one. During this entire process, the waitress’s attitude was good. The waitress also called one of the customer out for having serious diseases when shouting at the kitchen. But it was just some allergies. It was so loud that we could hear it clearly upstairs. I couldn’t tell if it was the language barrier or them being passive-aggressive. Then I got the pancake. It tasted good until I found a hair in it. I didn’t want to make a big fuss about it. So I just decided to take a photo of it and share it here 🙃

Was super excited to try the traditional Dutch pancake. It was just alright. Then we realized you have to pay to use the toilet. I didn’t use it but if I would have saw the sign before being seated, I would have left. There are many places to east, so, I’d advise going somewhere else and save your money.

Really liked the spinach, cheese, fried egg and bacon. Never had anything like this at home. We'd call it a crepe...very thin. Loaded with flavor and loved the way some of the cheese got crispy. Only complaint is it was a little oily but still lovely. Like lots of places around this area the restaurant was small and cramped but not much to be done about that.

We came for the vegan options and found what i was looking for: the taste of real dutch pancakes with lots of sirup as I remember from my childhood. The service was very friendly too.

Seated immediately at 10am. I had the savory goat cheese, spinach, garlic oil, & seeds Dutch pancake and hubby had the bacon, mushroom, leek, & cheese. Very flavorful and great nook upstairs to sit and enjoy.

So I had the fancy syrup on the pancake for a grand total of €17.50. It was not worth it - very plain taste. Really really don’t recommend!

Nous y sommes allés sur le temps de midi. L’endroit est assez fréquenté donc il est possible de devoir patienter 15 min avant d’avoir une table qui se libère. Deux formats de pancakes : américains - hollandais avec saveurs salées et sucrées. Nous avons relativement bien mangés pour un repas de midi et une addition raisonnable

This was a big miss for me. The food was average - but in all fairness, we ordered off the gluten-free menu. It’s quite possible that their traditional recipes are tastier. The restaurant is small, cramped, loud and bright, so if that’s your cup of tea then perhaps you’ll enjoy this place. Service was slow and there were dirty dishes left on the surrounding tables for 15/20 minutes despite people waiting for a table. Three people ate pancakes with coffee and juice and our total was €85. Oof.

Your pancakes are all oil and have a very bad taste. I do not advise anyone to try them

It's compulsory to eat pancakes in Amsterdam. Small restaurant, very good food, and freshly squeezed juice. Not too expensive and well located on a corner in 9 Streets area.

Very tasty food, both salty and sweet. Kind and fast service, small place. It was possible to order the flat Dutch pancake without gluten, it was also very tasty! There seems to be awareness and alternatives to various allergens in place. Recommend to come. At the same time, it's a small branch of the chain, so it didn't have some of the items on the menu (like the small Dutch pancakes), we recommend going to one of the larger branches.

It's so delicious. You can order a cup of fresh mint tea with pancakes. It's served in a small space, but the tables are turned over very quickly. Usually at 10 o'clock on weekdays, you have to wait 5 minutes for a table. Continuous flow♥️

Had to try the traditional dutch pancakes when visiting Amsterdam. I opted for a savoury options and ordered the spinach and fried egg pancake (slightly healthier pancake option?). It tasted amazing! The pancake was crispy and it went well with the spinach and egg. The portion might look huge, but the pancake was very thin so it was easy to finish even just for one person.

There is a big difference between ingredients and prices, so I wouldn’t recommend it

The staff were all friendly and our food and drinks arrived quickly. The iced coffee was amazing and the pancakes were soft and fluffy, the portion sizes were also really filling and good for the price, and you get a mini stroopwafel with your coffee.

Fun place for family meal. We all had danish pancakes with different toppings. The mint lemonade was fantastic!

Everyone kept recommending Dutch pancakes and who was I to refuse? They were so good! I had savory and my mom had sweet, both were delicious. I wish I got a picture before I started eating but I wasn’t expecting them to be that tasty. The weather was so pleasant that the patio was perfect for our brunch. If you’re a confused tourist like me, make sure you signal you’d like the bill somehow because we didn’t see our server again. Another person was coming around to close tabs with the card machine. Would def recommend this place though. Great food, atmosphere and prices.

It was a overall great experience but the dutch pancakes were very rich.

We had soooo delicious pancakes and omelettes here, the service went above and beyond and was super friendly and overall it was a really great stay. I would come here again and again!
