Staff are rude and behave like they’re selling the world’s best pancakes. When I asked the waiter how they handle the queue, he replied, “I use my brain.” Given the attitude, that answer said enough. If you have any self-respect, you won’t come here. Food is bad, value for money is worse. A pointless stop in Amsterdam—only useful as a story to warn others not to go.(For the owner/brand: if brand reputation matters, it may be worth addressing the rude behavior of the waiting staff.

We had a very disappointing experience at this brunch place today. There were clearly available tables inside, and we were told to wait 10 minutes, which was fine. However, despite the cold weather, the staff insisted that we wait outside, and the attitude of the waiter was rude and dismissive. What made the experience worse was the way we were treated compared to other customers. It felt like we were deliberately treated differently, which came across as discriminatory and deeply uncomfortable. No customer should be made to feel unwelcome or disrespected in this way. Good food or location cannot make up for poor service and a lack of basic respect. I hope the management takes this seriously and provides proper staff training.

Very cramped space, fast service

The pancake and the orange juice was delicious. It was a 15 minute wait at the table which was a little longer for a pancake. The staff was unhappy, nothing to say about that. 9/10

The pancakes there are really delicious. It's worth going there for breakfast or brunch. And there are so many different kinds. The service was friendly and attentive. It rained that day and was very chilly, which made it quite unpleasant in the restaurant, as most of the patrons couldn't manage to close the door.

we were invited by my sister to try this shop. the food quality is good, it was very fresh and warm pancake, but i have preference over to the street pancakes . this pancake for me is more crumbly., which i dont like much. not saying its bad ..it just that i dont preferred crumbly version.

The service was quite disappointing. The restaurant was empty when we arrived, so we chose to sit inside and opted for a larger table given the available space. However, the server abruptly asked us to move to a smaller table and appeared to be in a poor mood throughout our interaction. Given the unpleasant experience, we decided to leave and dine elsewhere.

You can eat pancakes and poffertjes here. Seating is a bit cramped though! Lots of tables with limited space! There's a restroom. Friendly service.

I brought my girlfriends here because I felt nostalgic, haven't been here since 2014 I think. But this time the experience was subpar: not only a woman at the table next to us found a piece of plastic wrap in her pancake, we asked for 3 goat cheese pancakes and one apple crumble one to share and got only 2 pancakes. We thought we clarified and asked for 2 more when these came, and after another 10 min we got only one of the 2 ordered. We just gave up in getting our order complete. We also had to ask for water like 5 times

The staff were all so so kind!! And the food woah! I love pancakes and this was 10/10. I ordered the meal deal plus mini chocolate pancakes. It is not expensive nor cheap its right on the middle, but the food size and quality is worth what you pay for.

The pancakes here are varied and delicious, but the atmosphere is unfortunately a bit sterile.

The waiter who was working today (21.09.25 at 11:30) was extremely disrespectful and unpolite ! I only wanted to ask if it would be possible to eat outside as all the tables were empty. Without any explanation he just said in a very rude way „no eating outside you can only wait there“ as I asked why it is not possible because I already eat there outside he only responded with „not today“ . I immediately wanted to leave and I‘m not coming back to such a rude workforce.

Went here for lunch and the food was delicious and the staff very courteous. We had a mix of normal and gluten-free pancakes and the staff took the allergens separately with a great system to identify the gluten free food. They were great with our toddler and helped us enjoy our time with them

Pancakes are okay but NOT worth the cost, €20+ for a pancake is shocking. I left still feeling very hungry. The price should have half of what it is. Vegetarian options available. Would not return.

I am allergic to gluten and went to this restaurant several times for breakfast pancakes. They have a separate gluten free menu and I did not get any reaction at all. Super tasty pancakes and excellent service special mention must be made of Dennis who was very helpful and even gifted us some gluten free pancake mix on our last day. We’ve had them at home not as tasty as being in Amsterdam but a lovely memory of a great holiday. Thanks Dennis and team we will be back.

A great place to try pancakes. They have a wide variety and the ingredients are delicious. You can eat inside or outside the restaurant. The Spanish waitress made our recommendations, and she was absolutely spot on.

We stopped in for a quiet bite while on a walk around Amsterdam. This place is a little crowded but we still managed to get a table and were quickly served. As usual, the pancakes were perfectly prepared and delicious.

Very cramped environment with an uncomfortable vibe. Staff were very un-chatty and made us feel like a bit of an inconvenience when we asked a couple of questions. I paid €15.25 for a Dutch pancake with strawberries and cream - the pancake was very nice but €4.75 for 6 small, soggy strawberries? We asked for a few more for free and were told no and that if we wanted more, we would have to pay for them. The sauce dishes were also stained with weird brown marks. We wouldn’t come back.

Despite all the positive feedback and reviews I read about this place, I have to strongly advise people to avoid it. First of all, my friend ordered a pancake dish for 14€, and they were absolutely microscopic. It’s So overpriced, seeing as bottled water cost 4€. At the end we were ALSO told we couldn’t split the bill. Absolutely ridiculous, it’s a waste of money. Avoid.

We stopped in for a late breakfast (1030ish) and were seated immediately in the back. It's a very tight fit and if you may find yourself moving your table to allow people in and out of their seats. We ordered the bacon, cheese, and onion adding an egg as well as the spinach and egg adding bacon. Both were fantastic and filling. They had the perfect blend of sweet (from the pancake) and savory from the toppings.

Total tourist trap. Food is very meh, and 100% skippable. The servers in this restaurant are rude to customers and also lie/omit the fact that certain things Total tourist trap. When we asked our server whether they charge for water, as is common in Europe, they said no. When paying our bill, they charged about 4 euros for half a bottle of water, and when we kindly reminded them that they had told us it was free, they became very rude and refused to fix their mistake. If you are going to charge for something, just be honest about it.

Weirdly expensive but customer service lacking - told we could only sit on certain tables to they can cram more people in. They also don’t come up and take the bill - you have to come to them. Icing on the cake was being charged 4 euros for water - apparently they don’t do tap water - then proceeded to bring us tap water but charged us anyway! Seen something in other responses about them having a special water filtration system (sounds like rubbish) you think the amount of profit a place like this makes they could spare a bit of water for their guests. Food was ok nothing special. Tourist trap!

Unfortunately not the pancakes I remember from a couple years ago. This one is mushy, almost spongy, in texture. The indoor dining, though light and bright, is super tight and uncomfortable. I had to get up to let other diners out, and everyone just seemed to be squished like sardines. You can tell they are really trying to maximize their real estate, perhaps at the expense of customer experience…? On the plus side, the 2 servers were efficient and seemed nice. Overall, for me, it’s too much money for what you get. Skip if you have other places on your list.

Lol I hate when people pressure me to tip, especially in a casual setting. Why would you even actively ask me to tip when I literally had to walk up to the counter to pay for my bill. And to say it’s an european thing is even funnier😂 Food is good though, just not to my taste

Non banale la questione perché io, abituata a quelli americani, li ho scelti piccoli e soffici in un mix di dolce e salato insieme. Mio marito la ha preferito basso e salato, con bacon, cipolle e formaggio. Deliziosi. Limonata fatta in casa anche qui. Il locale è minuscolo, tipo fast food ma il cibo è di qualità.

€27.65 for two pancakes… Delicious but overpriced! The pancakes were delicious and more filling than I expected but they still seem way more than I’d ever comfortably pay for pancakes. I’d try once but wouldn’t go back for that reason.

I have been at several pancakes locations before and would always come back, because the have glutenfree dutch pancakes. It was something i definitely been craving for at that day. Always look out for the flag on your glutenfree pancake - otherwise it is NOT glutenfree!! Almost ate the wrong by accident. Should have given us a discount for the mix up ..

Watch out, tourist trap! Pricing is outrageous, better walk 5 min to Candela Pannenkoekenhuis and get an authentic Dutch pancake experience for half the price!

Pancakes were a good size and the service was friendly. The space is quite tight—getting to the wall-side seats means squeezing past other tables. Paying by the coffee prep area felt awkward, especially with dirty coins and cash near where food and drinks are served.

We visited on May 24th. The male staff told us the place was full, which was fine, but we were only given the option to wait outside after we asked. His attitude didn’t feel welcoming at all. When I asked about the “meal deal” on the menu — which mentioned a Dutch pancake — I wasn’t sure if I needed to choose a flavor or not. I politely asked him to clarify, and he replied, “You can read, right? The flavors are on the menu.” His tone was condescending and disrespectful. On top of that, he served us with a completely expressionless face. I have no idea what was bothering him. I don’t think it’s ever acceptable to speak to a customer like that, regardless of the situation. Whether it was personal, racial, or just a bad mood, it was unprofessional and uncomfortable. The food was fine, but the service ruined the entire experience. I would give zero stars if I could. We went there on a holiday. When we first asked, the thin male clerk was very cold. He just told us that they were full. After further questioning, he told us that we could wait outside. I felt that he didn't want to serve us. These might be okay. But when I couldn't understand the menu, there was a brunch set with Dutch pancakes and other things. I didn't know if it meant that I could choose a pancake flavor and then there would be side dishes, so I asked the male clerk. I asked him while standing, and he first asked me to sit down very impolitely. Then after I asked him, he didn't answer me directly, but just said to me, do you understand? The flavor is written on it. I think his reply was very disrespectful and impolite. He could have just told me that this was a plain waffle with side dishes instead of being so stalemated with me. Anyway, I didn’t get an answer from him. He finally asked us to look at the picture and then I understood. I don’t know if he was discriminating or in a bad mood, but I think it’s a bad attitude to tell customers that you can understand it instead of answering his questions. I ordered the classic bacon and apple. The bacon was too salty, but the sweet and sour taste of the apple helped to balance it out. I also got a cute little keychain after I checked out.

The place is charming...very Dutch with its decor. It's located on one of the "9 streets," which you shouldn't miss. Pancakes are part of Dutch family tradition. Don't miss it.

Even though we went in February 2025, I am leaving a delayed review because I have never forgotten this place since the day I ate there. I ordered rosemary-goat cheese and my friend ordered the one with spinach-pesto sauce. Our coffees come with small stroopwaffles. The combination of sweet and salty was amazing, it was one of the best places I ate in Amsterdam. If I go to Amsterdam again, it is definitely a place I will go again. We had to wait for about 10 minutes because the weather was very cold and the seating areas were a bit limited, but there are a few tables outside to sit at, I would definitely recommend you to go.

Best place for Dutch stile pancake in Amsterdam. Thin, crispy, nicely served with a large variety of addings. Allergy and Gluten free friendly. Visited the place several years ago and then twice on this trip and it has kept the same great food and service. They also sell their gluten free pancake blend!

Terrible servicio! Nos fuimos porque nunca aceptaron nuestra orden. También esperaban otras personas, que estaban allí antes que nosotros. Tomaron la orden de las personas que llegaron después de nosotros. Cuando se lo hicimos saber, respondieron en un tono muy poco profesional: ‘bueno, no lo vi’. Además, precios super caros, algunos eran superiores a 20 €, para tortitas! ? No recomiendo!

Went here for breakfast when I was visiting in Amsterdam. Thought it was a neat way to experience a true “dutch” pancake. I have a gluten allergy and my fiancé got the “normal” one - she said they are very comparable after trying my gluten free one. This is always a cool experience when those with allergies can try all the delicious foods the world has to offer & I thank this business for accommodating so well. They had a separate allergy menu that was a different colour. Food was great, came quick, and was reasonably priced for the amount received.
