Piccolo Mondo in Nieuwmarkt/Lastage

Unfortunately, one of the worst pasta experiences I’ve ever had. The food was very bad, pasta overcooked and tasteless. Very expensive and no value for what you pay. I’m shocked this place has a high rating. We went with friends and before we were finished the personnel wanted to leave and made it very obvious, to the point that they would sit and stare at us. We felt uncomfortable and left. We all felt nauseous afterwards.

Stay away! All of our party (we were 6) had food poison form this place.

Very cozy restaurant, small, quiet, in the middle of the amsterdam canal's. Very nice place to have a, somehow romantic, dinner. The atmosphere is very nice with some 80s songs in the radio. The food is great and the service is quite quick.

Beautiful Italian restaurant run by caring, wonderful people! The food was brilliant and the atmosphere was warm with great Italian music in the background. You have to eat here! We had pizza, pasta, fish and enjoyed it. Ciao! Grazie

Excellent and authentic Italian food right in the heart of Amsterdam. Tasty fresh made pasta and fresh made rolls. I’ll be visiting this place on my next visit to Amsterdam.

Very tasty meal. Linguini with pesto was very tasty. Service is excellent. Price was a bit on the high side.

Very nice, quiet restaurant with very tasty pizza

My daughter and I came across this quaint restaurant our first night in Amsterdam ... which was New Year's Eve. They were able to seat us immediately. The menu has a good variety of meals from which to choose; all reasonably priced ... and the most important, the meals we had were absolutely delicious. It was so good in fact, we went back for dinner two nights later. We would highly recommend. ** NOTE: the first two photos, are of our first night dining there on 31/12; the third photo, is of our meal last night 2/1

Siamo rimasti assolutamente entusiasti della nostra visita al Piccolo Mondo! L’atmosfera accogliente e il calore del personale ci hanno fatto sentire subito a casa. Il menu offre una splendida selezione di piatti autentici della cucina italiana, preparati con grande passione e maestria. Vorremmo sottolineare in particolare la pasta fatta in casa – semplicemente divina! Anche il servizio è stato impeccabile: attento, cordiale e sempre con il sorriso. Un momento indimenticabile è stato il vino consigliato dal cameriere, perfettamente abbinato ai nostri piatti. Ci siamo sentiti coccolati dall’inizio alla fine e non vediamo l’ora di tornare la prossima volta che saremo ad Amsterdam. Grazie mille al team di Piccolo Mondo – fate un lavoro straordinario!

We loved Piccolo Mondo! A group of six of us had dinner and greatly enjoyed our pizzas and pastas. We recommend the inferno and pepperoni pizzas, as well as the carbonara and Quattro formaggi penne pasta. Everyone was very pleased with the food and the service. Would return!

We were really looking forward to eating here, given the many good reviews. But unfortunately it was very disappointing. Bruschetta with burrata was almost embarrassing, you had to look for the burrata with a magnifying glass and the pesto tasted like the cheapest one in the supermarket. Risotto was tasteless. Everything is also very expensive, but I think that's everything in this area. Shame!

Lovely meal out. Great size portions and great service! We had the carbonara and the mushroom gorganzola and they were excellent. Couldn’t have got any better!

Personeel was keurig correct, echter het eten in dit geval pizza's waren zeer matig , slappe bodem matig belegd. De calzone pizza was smakeloos en slecht gevuld. Prijs stond niet in verhouding tot de kwaliteit.

Amazing place. The service was great, fast and smooth, and the food tasted good. I like the particular detail that they had listed all the allergens in the first page of the menu so easier for strict vegetarian eaters like me to choose the dishes without having to ask the chef for it in every other restaurant in NL.

Highly recommended! We came here on a Saturday evening without a reservation at around 8 p.m. and were given a super friendly welcome. We were told that there was no table available at the moment, but if we waited 10-15 minutes it would work. We waited outside the door and the staff let us know when something was available. The menu has something for everyone, we had 2 pizzas, ravioli and tagliatele with salmon. Everything was very tasty and filled you up. Price-performance ratio was absolutely fine, with several drinks, 4 main courses and 2 desserts we paid around €130. The staff was very attentive and always had a relaxed attitude on their lips. We would recommend the store ☺️

Having just arrived via Eurostar from London (is not the food offer in their “new” Eurostar Plus dumbed down rubbish) we wanted a light lunch and went to this restaurant on spec. The owner was happy to service us from the starter menu. We had tomato soup, some focaccia and prawns in garlic. Everything we had in particular the soup was very good. With a 50cl carafe of vin rouge (okay table wine at these prices) the damage €60 for 2. Good value, nice service and an ideal lunchtime spot.

We were the first people into the restaurant that night, but the staff were so welcoming and the food was delicious. Get the spinach and ricotta ravioli and the lemon tart.

We walked by early on a Monday night. It was quiet and we walked in. We were seated at a great table. We both had pasta dishes and their wonderful bread. Dessert, coffee, and wine were all great! The service was outstanding. If we lived here, it would be our "GO TO" favorite place. Thank you.

We had salmon grill with mushroom soup along with a soft drink / sprite. The place is cozy and the host is very welcoming. We were in early, but I guess the place will get filled as evening progresses. The food was tasty and adequately portioned. The soup can be split between 2 people. It was spiced like Italian. Overall a very nice evening and thanks to the person who waited the table for the excellent service.

Modern Italian, quite spacious for this neighborhood in Amsterdam. Were friendly to our family with advice on placing the buggy and we received a high chair. Too bad about the draft door. We ordered a foccacia for the daughter and pasta for us. Food was decent but simple, portion on the smaller side - enough for me but a bigger eater might want dessert. Photo of the pasta Italia, with a sweet tomato sauce and sour burrata. I didn't think the hot-cold combo was successful, but I could have guessed that.

Fantastic experience from start to finish. Amazing food, wonderful staff, and they absolutely nailed the tiramisù.

The wine and starters were great, would recommend the prawn starter. the quattro stagioni was a bit light on topping, the tuna and olives pizza looked a bit better.

We came over spontaneously in the evening with a very large group of 18 people and were warmly welcomed. No effort was spared to enable us to sit together and the service was also friendly and accommodating. The food surprised us very positively and was served quickly. Despite the hustle and bustle with our sudden appearance, the ambience was also pleasant and inviting. We will definitely come back on our next visit to Amsterdam.

1 1/2 hours before closing time, we spontaneously asked for a table for a group of 17 people. Despite this, we were warmly welcomed. After a short time, the friendly and friendly service brought us the food, so that despite our large group we were able to enjoy the delicious food together in a timely manner. This restaurant saved our evening as a group with its wonderful service!

We spontaneously came by in the evening with a group of 18 people and we were able to sit together without waiting. Almost the entire group's food was brought to us within 15 minutes. We were very positively surprised by the atmosphere, the waiters and the food. We would like to come back next time in Amsterdam.

We came there spontaneously as a class of 17 people and got a place straight away. No effort was spared to enable us all to sit together. Aside from the good food and the beautiful ambience, the staff was extremely nice. We were all very positively surprised. If we come back to Amsterdam soon we will definitely come back.

The inside was very dark and a bit run down. It looked like the place has been running for many years without any renovation or upgrade of the interior design. The pasta were just ok. Not bad though. The staff who served us was really friendly, warm and lovely. :)

A hidden gem! We were starving and happened upon this place first for lunch. I ordered the ravioli with truffle sauce which was outstanding! We had Warm bread & we also ordered the bacon and pine nut salad. So delicious. Service was excellent. Food was beyond our expectations! We actually went back a few nights later for dinner. I ordered the truffle ravioli, and my husband had the steak with Gorgonzola sauce. Both prepared perfectly , on time and waitress seemed to know when to deliver bread/drink/entrées. I am married to an Italian. He said the sauces were on par! Don’t miss this wonderful restaurant!

On a recent trip we visited this restaurant as a recommendation from our hotel. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. We ordered spaghetti carbonara, salmon pasta and the truffle ravioli. All three dishes were excellent - tasty and made with quality ingredients. The wine was also superb. We had a lovely evening meal and would highly recommend Piccolo Mondo.

Best risotto I've ever had!!! Risotto del Bosco, just amazing. Made a booking but didn't work right, were happy to fit us in regardless. Service was outstanding, super friendly and accommodating. Can't recommend high enough

Very average restaurant, Very bland dishes with no deep qualities. Water is very expensive 6€50 for a bottle of 0.75cl still water Average service, like the meal. We have to put things into perspective, for a city like Amsterdam I think this restaurant is above average!

The place is nice and we feel well taken care of. The pizzeria is located in a less bustling area than the red light district or the center of Amsterdam so it is a good option to get some air. The pizzas are correct although I think the dough is not the best, I have eaten better ones and I think they could improve in that aspect
