Went here based on the reviews, but the table was dirty. Also, a male staff member who was unfriendly only to Asian.

This place saved my mood after a terrible experience at LOT61 coffee corner (I left my review there, you can have a look at my experience). My resume: Friendly and nice staff 🙋🏻‍♀️🙋🏻‍♂️ Customer service is 🔝 Laptop friendly 💻✅ Food & Drinks - tasty big portions 🫰🏻 Atmosphere is busy, fun, casual 💟 Music is lounge and chill - super good for both laptopers and book readers. Details: Entering first thing I noticed is a chill vibe music (already nice start), lots of people working with their laptops. I noticed 2 clients entering and talking to the staff, exchanging good vibes and smiles (seems like they’re loyal customers). 21 people sitting in the place here and there and my order was made correctly despite the crowd. Attentive and super friendly staff, giving a personal approach to every client. They offered a free tasting of carrot cake and I was recommended to have a toasted carrot cake! Whoa! 😄 the staff said if I don’t like it they will change it for free. Super selling technique. The staff friendliness and good vibes give trust, and I ordered it 😇 and I actually loved the toasted warm carrot cake. Chai with oat milk is in large cup and staff asked in advance if I want it hot or cold, also double checked with me the milk I want. So for big carrot cake and big chai oat milk i paid = €9 I accidentally sat at the laptop free table, and the staff nicely escorted me to the big laptop friendly table and helped with creating a space, asking nicely other people sitting around if they will make a room for me. (Finding a solution is TOP). I see tables of different sizes, shapes and forms for everyone, some are enjoying the reading sitting on the couch. They also have a terrace outside. Feels cozy, like you are sitting in a super creative zone with your colleagues or feels like community / home where like minded people are having their best experience combining career (laptops), leisure (books and talks). I’m definitely coming back.

Pipes & Beans is a wonderfully relaxed café where you can enjoy delicious coffee, quietly read a book, or get some work done. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxed, with a pleasant decor. The baristas are friendly Amsterdammers, and the service is fast and friendly. Definitely recommended! Plenty of options for vegetarians and vegans too :)

Great coffee and friendly atmosphere

I am not sure about the high rates. Dishes were quite simple and staff were not really welcoming. Waiting time was quite long. It’s just nothing special.

Instant crush! Cozy corner cafe with lovely and warm decor and a wonderful smell, good coffee, and very suitable for working or having one on one conversations given a quiet environment. DO NOT miss out on the babaghanoush sandwich, it’s divine!

I enjoyed a latte at this peaceful and funky cafe on a rainy day. Just note that no laptops are allowed on weekends.

Great vintage cafe with good Italian coffee. This is a place local visit to have coffee and hang out. Interior is vintage furniture and music is always relaxed. Is a lovely place to forget the busy town.

The place itself is very pretty and cozy. The staff today at midday was extremely rude. Two girls talking to each other without acknowledging customers waiting in line to order. Once they did take our order, they were pretty unwelcoming - made us feel like we were annoying them before we could even say hello. I work in hospitality myself and understand we all have bad days, but this was next level :(

Very cute place with nice atmosphere and decoration. The food is okay, I thought there would be more variety. The girl at the bar helped us with some sandwiches even tho they were almost closing and I really appreciate that, we were starving. We will come back (at a reasonable time)!

What a gem of a cafe! I had a cookie and a coffee with a friend. - First of all the atmosphere inside is great because the decorations are so pretty and very artistic. The vibe is calm and quiet and really gives off a lot of peace. It’s perfect if you want to study or have some chat with a friend, but maybe less adapt to a date. - The location is close to Hoofddorpplein, outside the city center so I’d not recommend for tourists but if you live in the area or maybe you pass by and look for a cafe to relax then this is perfect. - Prices are logically bit lower than average, which is nice - The waitress was kind and friendly, and there is also a cute cat walking around! Definitely recommend if you’re in the area

I visited this café to work on a project, ordered coffee and a cookie. When I opened my laptop, two staff members told me I couldn’t work there. I’ve never heard of a café banning laptops—it felt disrespectful. I don’t recommend this place.

Awful service one of the male waiters is super rude. The place is really cozy inside but i would not comeback because of the rude waiter that clearly is unhappy working there. I will edit this comment because this deserves more to be said after this untrue comment by the owner. The owner could not know that his employe spoke to me in a passive aggressive tone believing he could get away with it without anyone noticing. Then when 2 new colleagues started the shift i could hear him loudly comment about the situation in a way that was untrue, and moking my words with their colleagues going along. I was at the other corner of the cafe but i guarantee i could hear it very well. That is an inhumane and vile way to treat the clients that are paying for your products. I did not request anyone else to comment on my behalf. I dont recommend anyone to come herr unless you want to be humiliated.

I used to go really often with some friends until we found out that they stopped doing the sandwiches, and that was our main reason to go there. The place is super nice but it’s a shame that they changed the menu!

Shouldn't open up about this little gem, as most caffeine addicts head off to Caffeinations' celebrated doses- tho since refit, Cnation aren't a quarter as cozy as P&B with its curiosa brimmed living room oozing nostalgia of the 20th C kind. Add aromatic coffee with super tasty yummies on top, you guys have yer fave coffee dive. But Sssh, let's keep this one under wraps, shall we ? Have a great cup !

I love this cozy and nice place, i was a regular on my days off but I ve moved a little farther so I can’t go so often as before, the thing is that I ve always chosen the humus sandwich and my friend the tuna one but they don’t have then anymore, we were a little disappointed because we liked them a lot , I hope they put it back in the menu. Anyway the place , the service and the environment is great !

Not recommended at all. The hygiene of the place leaves a lot to be desired and the owner is arrogant and abrupt in his treatment. The coffee is acceptable but not much else.

I really love the taste of the espresso they serve here. It would be great to taste fresh croissant after a cup of coffee.

I love this place! It’s very cozy, so came there and had feeling that I’m at home. I liked their vintage interior design, friendly people. There is a big table for coworkers. I wish they had more vegetarian positions in the menu and they were able to accept cash and it’s a problem of this place. I have an advice how to make it better: please start to accept cash to be open not only for locals, but for everyone, because tourists don’t have a bank card often. Im pretty sure that after that visitors will review your place with 5 stars because it deserve!

Went for breakfast and place was really lovely, really chill and nice vintage interior, brioche toast was amazing. The cat that lives there was a lovely surprise as well!

What a friendly and welcoming spot! We were greeted early on a Sunday morning by the owner / employee outside and he asked us if we were lost (which we were) and invited us in. We had wonderful cappuccino, yogurt and croissants. What make this place special is that local moms and babies gathered there to meet. Thank you for allowing us to join and enjoy the great service and food.

the place is nice but be careful when ordering empanadas, they gave me one (1) little piece with some salads and tomatoes for 5€

The guy was on his phone for 20min despite we were waiting for the order. Not a cafe, rather a hipster home with occasional service. :) atmosphere was ok with classic music which was out of the totalstyle of the place.

Heerlijke koffie, supervriendelijk personeel De hoeveelheid laptops in het koffietentje ( telde veertien zwijgende mensen werkend met laptops) maakt het wel ongezellig.

Coffee was good, but matcha latte and chai latte were mediocre. Sweets didn’t look attractive enough to buy so we went for Empanadas. That was a mistake since they were deep fried and way too oily. Atmosphere inside was warm and lovely, but a bit chaotic, they also forgot my order. I was expecting board games but ones I found were really old and in Dutch.

This is one of the best coffee spots in town. Great place to work or just hangout. Really friendly staff. I like to work here cause it feels Alive. There are people working for sure but also just chatting and there is clearly a community of regulars around the place and yet everyone is super friendly and welcoming. Not exclusive like many hipster places at all.

Had the worst day because some accidents that cost me some cash. At this point i was walking by pipes and beans, having the worst day ever and i just thought might as well spend every last bit of my change for some hot chocolate since ill probably skip dinner. When i was about to pay, they offered me croissants for FREE, out of nowhere. I am very grateful bc at that time i was also hungry. i thanked them, walked outside and cried on my way to extra shift for work. You dont know how much that means to me. Thank you, i will never forget your kindness!

Absolutely loved this place - came and worked here for a couple days, loved the vibe, very friendly staff and the music was on point!, great coffee and juices. The breakfast deal was super tasty, great coffee good juices, and the hummus toastie was also so good. Definitely recommend!!

Ik heb dinsdag middag samen met twee vriendinnetjes gewerkt bij Pipes & Beans. Het was gezellig druk en de sfeer (huiskamer) die er hangt is fijn. Er zijn mensen aan het werk maar je kan er ook gewoon gezellig een koffietje doen om bij te kletsen. Ik heb aan de grote tafel in het midden gezeten en uiteindelijk zat de tafel vol met allemaal mensen die aan het werk waren. Je moest je drinken zelf aan de bar bestellen, wat ik persoonlijk heel prettig vind omdat je dan lekker kan doorwerken en kan bestellen als je er zelf aan toe bent. Opgegeven moment kwam Leonardo (barman) met een vaatdoek aan en zei tegen mijn vriendinnetje dat ze haar scherm eens moest poetsen want zelfs vanaf de bar zag hij dat het nodig was. We moesten hier enorm om lachen en konden het wel waarderen. Ik zei nog tegen mijn vriendinnen dat ik die human touch en geinen met elkaar heel leuk vind in een cafe. Ik heb de carrot cake gehad en die was erg lekker. Ik heb de service en het klantcontact als heel fijn ervaren en zal zeker terug komen. Vooral ook door het vrije gevoel en hoe Leonardo met ons omging. Dus dikke aanrader als je lekker low key een dagje wil werken of een koffietje wil drinken.

Niet gastvrij. Toen we binnen kwamen werden we helaas niet begroet, de 3 mensen achter de bar waren te druk met elkaar in discussie. Uiteindelijk naar hen toe gelopen waarna 1 zich omdraaide en ik een cappuccino (3,40 EUR) kon bestellen. De cheesecake was helaas nog bevroren.. de cappuccino was lekker en het is een leuk ingericht tentje, maar de service kan zeker beter.

Erg fijne sfeer, huiskamer gezelligheid, top service, en ook nog eens lekkere koffie! Aanrader.

Pipes and Beans est un cafe chaleureux, où tout le monde se parlent et s’entend à merveille. Le service est parfait, toutes les personnes qui h travaillent sont très gentilles. La musique qui y passe est de très bon goût. La nourriture est excellente. L’endroit est toujours propre. L’établissement est parfait pour prendre un café, manger, mais aussi travailler! Mon amie et moi allons à Pipes and Beans pour travailler depuis Septembre et nous ne pouvons plus nous en passer. Il y a toujours une super ambiance! Je recommande vivement Pipes and Beans, qui est sans hésité un de mes endroits préfères de la ville complète d’Amsterdam!
