Pizzeria Da Carlo in Wijk 10 Binnenstad

Good experience 5 years ago, unfortunately nothing left now. Poor quality food, presentation as if a toddler had been busy, tough meat, sour tuna lukewarm drinks, no apologies/compensation. We are still hungry for €137.

The best in town, not just pizza...

bad pizzas, the base was ready-made and the grated cheese was very salty and tasteless... I left half of the pizza, which is a shame

Delicious authentic Italian food in a cozy and relaxed atmosphere. If you're there, you definitely have to try the Ossobuco!

The tournedos were perfect, although the pizza dough is a bit too covered in flour. I'll keep it short, perfect food and the service is perfect! Customer friendliness is really visible here, and if you want to eat out on a nice evening, this is a big recommendation!

Een vriendelijke, gemoedelijke sfeer. Het eten was goed. De huisgemaakte ovenschotel met drie gerechten was top! Brood met boter werd gelijk na aankomst op tafel gezet, waar zie je dat nog! De risotto kon smaakvoller als enige minpuntje. De wijn en desert ook goed! Hele goeie prijs/kwaliteitverhouding. Komen binnenkort weer

Really fantastic meal with 2 friends. I've had pizzas taken away before, but this time I ate them in the restaurant. After a nice upgrade of the interior, it has a very relaxing and romantic atmosphere. Wonderful for an evening meal. In addition, the hostess was very helpful and knew exactly what we needed. Then the food; as a starter we had sardines, spicy prawns and carpaccio to share. I also ordered small fish that were not on the menu. These were deliciously delicious. The carpaccio was top notch and the prawns and sardines were also very tastefully prepared. As a main course we all had a parma ham pizza with arugula. For me personally, this was perhaps the tastiest pizza I have ever eaten. The spicy olive oil on top (we knew Da Carlo has this) completed it. After the many starters, miraculously it was no problem to finish the pizza😉 Once again, really delicious. Our evening was fantastic and I would recommend everyone in Almelo and the surrounding area to go here. We were the last to leave the tent 😇 And the limoncello (from Sicily turned out to be upon inquiry) was extremely good. The pizza was almost gone before the photo but ok. And the price was very good too. With 3 people including drinks less than €50 p.p. Family Thanks Da Carlo!

Very good FOOD, Real Italian pizzas. Top quality! One of the few in the region who can do this. Furthermore, the service is also very friendly and good. When your drink was finished you were immediately asked if you wanted something new. That's the way it should be! In short, recommended!

Tastes differ of course, but I can no longer call this a taste, pizza was burnt and nasty, little sauce on it and no topping, and the pasta was really the dirtiest I have ever had in my life. So never again for us. No, never!

Had risotto alla sarda, it had little flavor and was mushy. Unfortunately we also had to wait a long time for our food, when we finally got our food the chef forgot 1 more dish, so 1 person had to wait even longer. The beer tasted pretty good by the way :-)

Lekker eten, heerlijke voorgerechten. Wat jammer dat ons plezier enigszins teniet werd gedaan door veeelllll te lange wachttijden ondanks tijdig reserveren. Pas na 2 drinkrondes en 1 uur 3 kwartier wachten kregen we ons eten. Jammer : dat moet toch echt beter

Friendly staff upon arrival. At the table we quickly received a sandwich in advance. As a starter I had a tomato soup, nothing to complain about, it was tasty. We only received our starter after an hour, after asking once when our food was ready because I was there with my child. (7yrs) And we ordered his main course with our starter. His pizza was good by the way! Our main course did not arrive until 70 minutes later after we had finished our starter. I personally think this is too long. We asked once how long it would take, but we were soon put in our place; We should have arrived at 5:00 PM instead of 6:15 PM because now it was busy and it could take longer due to a shortage of staff and then the child would not have to wait long. After half past eight our main course arrived. I had a pasta carbonara. And a sirloin steak. I know it's supposed to be a smooth sauce but I just had scrambled eggs in my pasta. The piece of meat was tough. (We didn't eat it) We paid for everything properly and eventually left because after a snub from the staff I no longer wanted to talk to them about our food. I'm still bummed that I just had scrambled eggs in my pasta. Unfortunately not anymore for us, although the pizza and our starters tasted good.

Despite no reservations, we were offered a table (on a busy Friday evening). The food was very tasty and the service was also great. Highly recommended!

Delicious food in a cozy restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere. Delicious Italian food, just around the corner, highly recommended for a surprise when you are in Almelo. The staff is friendly and does not impose themselves. There is enough time between courses so that there is plenty of opportunity to chat.

Heerlijk Italiaans gegeten in een gezellige omgeving. De bediening is vriendelijk en niet opdringerig. Het eten is heerlijk er is een grote keuze in allerlei Italiaanse gerechten. Men laat genoeg tijd tussen de verschillende gangen zodat het eten kan zakken en je ook rustig kunt kletsen.

Ate here with 2 friends, all three had the carpaccio and then pizza Paesana. We all thought it tasted delicious! Service also very friendly, so I will definitely come back.

Food was fine as usual. It was just very warm inside. Which considerably reduces the appetite.

Bad thing... my friend has a hat on... they see us. When I come in… and are given a table a little later… the woman tells my friend that he has to take off his hat... I have never experienced this before, we go to expensive restaurants and this is not even an issue there

Contact and care was fine. Starter, tomato soup was delicious and so were the main courses. Espresso and ice cream sundaes are a feast. So delicious food and drinks and worth repeating.

Wanted to eat at da carlo tonight, but my daughter, who has a distinct style, was not allowed to enter with a hat on....Almelo in 2020!!! Another guest wearing a hat was no problem, but a cap apparently gives the wrong look :-(. So we ended up having a delicious meal at the Turkish restaurant Mira around the corner and celebrated the graduation of the cap-wearing daughter there. Never judge a book by its cover.

Very good atmosphere and perfect pizza. You really have time here to eat/chat quietly. The service was also very friendly. All employees seemed to have a genuine passion for their work. And that is also the result!

Service was friendly. Unfortunately we had to wait >60 minutes for food. People behind us also had to wait quite a long time. Pizza was a bit black (3 out of 5), otherwise tasty. Coffee for dessert; also took a long time, upon inquiry it turned out that the coffee machine was broken, but it would have been nice to report it. Then the owner thought it wasn't too bad...

Always nice to be here. Another delicious meal; this time all six had a pizza, all of which tasted delicious. The kids like them better here than in Italy...

One of my (if not the) favorite restaurant(s)

It is a dark, extremely hot restaurant with very mediocre food. My daughter was given spoiled milk (with dark lumps). After a comment about this, she received a new one with an apology. Pizza is very salty, very mediocre and every takeaway pizza tastes even better. The only positive comment is about the wine, which was good. Definitely not recommended. 2 stars is still nice.

Very dated, old fashioned and very simple in terms of quality. We were 9 people, except for the children, no one was really enthusiastic. The entire inside of my Pizza Fruti die Mare was soggy and wet. The edge was tough, the tuna was very salty and the mussels and squid rings were also tough. Shame.

This is the place for an authentic evening of Italian food. Friendly staff in this family business who care about the business and the food is very tasty. If you are near Almelo you should not miss Da Carlo.

The bread we got was fantastic, the starter, the spicy shrimps, were also delicious. Especially the pizza that I had as a main course. For dessert I had the dama bianca (dame blanche), which I thought was decent. The staff was nice and the food was delivered quickly (considering the quality of the food). The best Italian restaurant in Almelo. Carlo the owner and chef, an exceptional person always ready to satisfy customer requests. I have been going to Almelo for work for several years and Da Carlo is a regular stop. The pasta is excellent, cooked perfectly, the second courses of meat with freshly cooked side vegetables are fantastic. The pizzas are good. In short, what can I say, if you are in Almelo and you want to eat real Italian food, you have to go to Da Carlo. I have tried other "Italian" restaurants in town but there is no comparison.

Too dark in the Pirzzeria, frozen pizza quality, a shame

Great restaurant! Operation is neat. We got a nice spacious table so that the stroller fit neatly. And yes, then there is the food, the menu already stated that the quality has to be good, so you have to wait a little longer, and there is no lie about that, how wonderful,

Tastiest Italian restaurant in Almelo. For years!

The white wine had to be cooled with ice cubes because the refrigerator cannot handle this temperature.... After an hour still no pizza because it was very busy, no fewer than 3 tables were occupied!

Cozy restaurant, tasty pizzas with a good thin base, the salad was on the small side. Chairs are not very comfortable and two next to each other is quite cramped. Unfortunately no tap water available but unnecessarily expensive from a bottle. We had to wait a while for the pizza but it was worth the wait!
