The products are clearly high-quality, and the menu offers a good variety to choose from. It’s a very well-maintained spot with a great location. This was one of my highlights of my first ever visit to the Netherlands and my first ever day in Amsterdam. My boyfriend loves this place, he visits a few times a year. If we stayed over in the Netherlands and he went missing im sure he would be sitting at his Favourite seat upstairs, in Popeye, sat in the corner at the window, just watching the world go by. The best thing for me was the staff, the staff were beautiful, inside and out. The owner is a beautiful Lady who when speaking to you, makes you feel.so special and knows just what you need. They have recently changed there logo and it looks fantastic, very fresh. The artwork inside is stunning and I will gladly be going back when wee book a visit for later in the year. The two other girls that were serving were fantastic, interacting with the customers at other tables when cleaning up. Thank you so much Popeye/Rosebudz for my wonderful Amsterdam coffee shop experience, I will definitely be back soon.

AVOID IF YOU HAVE CERTAIN FOOD ALLERGIES. Popped in here after seeing it recommended highly for GF options as I’m Coeliac. My partner also has a severe Egg and Peanut allergy. We checked, double checked and triple checked with both female members of staff regarding allergies. We were very confidently assured by both members of staff that the GF muffin was also Vegan and contained no egg at all. Within not even 5 minutes of eating, my partners throat had swollen up, her stomach had started cramping and extreme nausea had set in, all her telltale symptoms of ingesting an egg containing food. We’ve now had to rush back to the hotel where she will spend probably the entire day projectile vomiting, inbetween being curled up like a foetus due to extremely painful stomach cramps until it’s all out of her system which is typical 8-10 hours. Our final full day in Amsterdam for our 10 year anniversary ruined because all food allergies aren’t treated as seriously as they should be. So anyone sticking to Vegan due to other allergies/intolerances, I wouldn’t take the risk. I can confirm however that the GF was definitely GF as I’ve been absolutely fine. I just wish other allergies were treated with the same level of severity as GF because the consequences are virtually identical.

Last day of my Amsterdam trip and I found popeye's the most chilled and relaxed coffee shop, the staff were really welcoming and helpful and the hot chocolate was amazing would definitely come back here again if I come back to Amsterdam

Definitely my favorite place to go for a chilled smoke, one of the few places where they DO NOT push you to buy more and more. The staff are so friendly; they will gladly let you borrow a grinder and give advice, and they're always happy to chat with you. This deserves 10 stars!

Space muffins for €10 had no effect, unfortunately. The muffins here taste exactly like the ones from the supermarket for €1. I think there's no THC in them and they believe we customers won't notice because we're already high and stoned from smoking weed. But it's a good coffee shop to chill in when there are seats available, and the cappuccino was okay too.

I had the Stroopwafel Vegan muffin! Most reviews here say it's dry, but I've had it twice, and have experienced it as a moist muffin, not dry at all! It takes a while to kick in. In 1:30 hours you start to feel it, at hour 2 it really kicks in. The effects lasted until I fell asleep, so 6+ hours. Good high, good taste, friendly staff, nice accommodations. I recommend!!

We didnt get any food but we did get drinks and a pre rolled, the atmosphere were really nice and the staff super helpful. Would deffo go back next time we visit. Thank you

Went there because they had vegan edibles but it was soo not worth it. The muffin was dry and didn’t taste like much and it didn’t hit at all! Also if you go there they want every single person of the group to order something to drink plus they were really rude. We are tourists from Switzerland and since we‘ve already been in coffeeshops in Zurich where you can smoke weed and cigarettes inside we thought it would be allowed to smoke cigs as well. We obviously didn’t know that it was illegal to do that because cigarettes are legal in pretty much every country but weed isn’t and instead of just telling us that we’re not allowed to do that they straight up screamed at us aggressively which even made my sister cry, they didn’t even give us a second to turn it off and go outside. So if you want to be around nice people and have good edibles don’t go there!! Absolutely not worth it, there are way better coffeeshops in Amsterdam with much nicer people. The ambience wasn’t nice either, like there really are so much better coffeeshops around fr. How about putting a sign which shows that it’s not allowed btw? Could help since it’s not obvious to everyone. Or just say it in a normal tone, doesn’t cost you anything to be nice, especially to costumers.

Very good coffee shop if you're visiting Amsterdam. We were greeted by a lady (a brunette with a cap, sorry we don't have her first name), with whom we managed to have a laugh despite the language barrier. I recommend it 100%; their weed is very good and the welcome is royal. (The French couple with the muffin 😁)

Very unpleasant staff, the man made rude comments because we were looking for a weaker strain of cannabis. From the beginning he treated us like subordinates, his behavior strongly negatively affected the whole atmosphere of the place and our view of this establishment, even though the lady from the staff was nice and the weed was very high quality.

Literally walked in the shop to have a look at the menu and was met with non stop hassle of if I needed help. Then in a sassy tone the guy behind the counter was asking again do I need help to which point we felt a awkwardness and force to leave while he rudely was saying bye to us as we leave. Was a joke not the way to treat people who are just looking at your menu being rushed, pathetic person and representation of the shop would not recommend

On a packed day when every other place was shoulder to shoulder, we actually found a seat here, which was a huge win 🥇 The vibe is super relaxed with cool lighting and trippy wall art that definitely adds to the atmosphere. The music wasn’t blasting, which made it easy to chill, talk, or just zone out. They’ve got a nice fridge stocked with drinks and snacks. Pro tip: the strawberry juice 🥤🍓 is surprisingly solid sweet, refreshing, and hit different after a twister joint. If you're looking for a laid back coffeeshop without the chaos, Popeye’s is a safe bet. It may not be your go to for top shelf bud deals, but it’s got a chill seat, good drinks, and a vibe that makes you want to stay a while

The place is nice. We just wanted to hang out there for a while before leaving, to do something other than weed, because we'd already smoked a lot and still had some left on us. Unfortunately, a woman told us it wasn't possible, which is a bit of a shame, especially when you know how coffee shops work. In theory, you shouldn't turn away customers who just want a drink. But hey, it's not a big deal: we went elsewhere, and in the end, we even got something extra there. Otherwise, there were quite a few choices, and the place was still cool. I just wish I could have stayed a little longer, really.

We brought the gluten free blueberry muffins as my friend is coeliac. The muffin itself was really tasty and relatively moist, however it was advertised as being made with a sativa strain. All this muffin did was make me knackered so I couldn’t even stay awake and had to go home to bed…. which is the opposite to being told it will invigorates and gives us a buzz. Our family also brought the muffin with gluten and the same thing happened to them. Would not recommend…

Good location, the coffeeshop has enough seats inside that are relatively comfy (the chairs could have bolstering and better arm rests). Decent selection, the only shame there is no decaffeinated coffee on the menu and that you do not get glass when you buy bottled water. The customer service is ok.

I went to Popeye for the first time today and was very pleasantly surprised. You take your time with the customer here, you can examine the weed before you buy it and then make a decision. Only then is it freshly packaged. The taste is really very good. It certainly wasn't the last time there.
