To the person below Luke , who says everything is bland , definitely hasn’t tried the sambal chicken… I am an Indian Bengali women , we like things spicy and hot … this was intense for me. Good intense

Roti chicken has no flavor. It might be fine by Dutch standards, but for Surinamese people, this is seriously subpar. The gravy is watery and barely flavorful. Eating in isn't pleasant or even possible because of the constant influx of takeout customers, who occupy these three tables while they wait.

A major disappointment. The place looks okay inside. It's clean, but not particularly atmospheric. There are two tables where you can sit and eat. The service was just okay. I ordered two cod sandwiches, but they didn't arrive. It was incredibly dry... it tasted like it was from the previous day and probably microwaved too long. VERY dry, in other words... and not enough acidity, in my opinion... I wouldn't go back.

Tried Nasi Chicken at Rams Roti for the first time, and it was the best I've ever had! The chicken wasn't dry. The rice wasn't dry. Every combination was fantastic!

Surinam Service Line only employs chefs, but your Doksa is deadly delicious!!

Excellent food; okay service (long wait on Friday night); meh atmosphere (there's no atmosphere in this takeout place, so pick it up and eat elsewhere).

The food was terrible. Dry rice without salt. The shrimp sandwich was tasteless and utterly bland. And when I asked if it tasted good, I clearly stated that it wasn't good, and they didn't offer me a new one. Never again.

Used to come here a lot but they have really gone downhill… unfortunately… Chicken was incredibly tough from both containers: chicken sambal and chicken curry both incredibly dry. Chicken curry was incredibly tasteless. Prices have also gone up a lot, really expensive. 17.50 for a container with little chicken and vegetables. Bami was tasty though.

Their lamb Roti changed my life.

Ordered rice curry shrimp and goegerie (chickpeas) and had it delivered. Added papaya in pickle myself. Delicious food, everything tasted good, large portion. Really great ❤️

It smells really nice in here, but most of the things I've tried are very bland. There is a lack of spices to every dish I've tried (roti kip/lam, saoto soup, nasi kip). The rotis themselves were fine. The portions are also not very good. When you get rice you get too much rice compared to meat/veg, and I like to get a lot of rice with my food. The vegetables were also very bland and boring. Adding more spices and balancing portions can make this a very good place I think, but for now it's just not there yet (or anymore).

I love this place. The food is great, best Suri take outs I ever had.

Delicious roti roll, plantain and chicken curry. It was worth eating during our trip to Amsterdam. Will definitely come back again!

Ate a pom sandwich today. I don't want to sit in the front row for a dime, but the sandwich was very poorly filled. It only had a tiny bit of scraped together filling. The bun itself was tough. If I had known that the pom was (almost) gone, I would have chosen something else.

I ordered two saotos, there were literally only 4/5 pieces of chicken in them and the taste was very mediocre. Shame

Honestly, most tasteless chicken curry chicken fillet in my life.

Just got chicken satay and small veggie roti roll (eggplant)! Super tasty! Service was good. Asked for extra spicy. She warned me but I'm glad I said yes because it was exactly the spicy I like. Highly recommended!

Remains our favorite in Amsterdam. We haven't lived in Amsterdam for a few years now, but we come back every now and then to get food here.

For the third time they have forgotten to make my food while I ordered at the counter. While the food is usually nice, now I just got something out of the microwave to make ho for lost time. Place would be way better if they had better trained people. The lady at the counter had no knowledge of the pin machine and was pretty slow. I suspect it had gone wrong there. Nonetheless, food is normally nice and it doesn’t always go wrong.

Had a small roti roll and a bara here on Saturday afternoon. The roti roll was great and the roti was very soft and there was good balance. Anyway. The reason I am posting the review is the bara. I've tapped a lot of baras in my life. And there is always something wrong. Too little tayer leaf, no air, bad chutney. But with Aries, none of this. Holy shit. This was better than my mother's bara, for completeness added a photo showing how fluffy this beautiful bun was, the chutney was great too. 10/10.

I like all the Rotis I ordered here. Lots of variation in rotation. What also really appeals to me is how well it is packaged and therefore it never becomes a mess before and after eating. It's also nice that they keep the long beans and potatoes dry if you ask. I am also positively surprised that the neighborhood embraces Rams Roti so much because their cooking smell can be smelled far and wide. See you soon! 10/10/2024 I don't know about Rams Roti anymore. A very long wait for a potato long beans puree with a chicken in a weak sauce. Roti itself was good. Now I'm going to go further afield to see what they make of it.

A few days ago I bought Roti chicken leg for 3 people. 1: Containers are small and therefore not enough food for €10, which is just stingy. 2: Food had too much garlic in it that I could just burp garlic the next day. 3: The worst part is that all 3 of us had diarrhea from the food!!! In the beginning this was a top store, after having raised money, most of them deteriorated in terms of quality and taste. From now on you can either make it yourself or take it to Aunt Gieta. Gieta is €1 more expensive but you can eat it for 2 days and get full taste.

The owner is very kind to tourists, very eager to explain his food. Really good experience. The infamous yellow sauce is really tasty in small quantities.

A really ridiculous situation, the delivery person came by so really not, then called the owner and said simply, contact Thuisbezorgd, no apologies at all for the inconvenience, unreliable roti shop and of course the last time I order here.

The second and last time I got something here. Last time roti chicken. Small container, very small amount of long beans on the potatoes in one side of the container, the chicken on the other side. Chicken was dry. Everything tastes the same. Now 3 moksi meti sandwiches, pom sandwich and long bean sandwich with shrimp. The rolls were not baked properly, we were just eating dough. Moksi meti, 2 small pieces of meat and a wedge on the bun. Long beans sandwich with shrimps... Sandwich completely stuffed with long beans, 8 small shrimps. The pom sandwich was actually tasty, but with such a soggy sandwich it was a weak bite. It is incomprehensible that this case still seems to be going so well. Really just can't eat for too much money. Never come here again.

The food here is so good but beware the spicy yellow chilli sauce they give you, it is HOT 🔥 (not European spicy, but genuinely really spicy)

Best Surinamese food! Generous servings, incredible taste especially for vegetarians! The bachalou fish and the shrimp with beans as well as the lamb were excellent. Recommend the zucchini, chickpeas, eggplant and pumpkin veggie selection. You can also get tap water. Decent seating option with two tables inside and 4 outside, but more of a takeaway place.

I often & only order chicken roti here, it’s always very good but the amount of potatoes is very very little.. 3 times more chicken than potatoes

Lousy service, if you order a roti chicken fillet, you don't get any roti with it. Then the operator says yes, we can't do anything about it :) and she has no solution. You also get Sauto without ketjap and that is your own business :) hahahaha laughable, last time I order here. It also happened that I ordered here and it never arrived, they couldn't do anything about it, but oh well. Should have stopped ordering here then.

Rams roti is the best roti in the world! Possibly the best food in the world. Especially the vegetarian. For more than 20 years, this has been our first stop every time we come to Amsterdam. It's hard to put into words just how much our family loves this food. Rams Roti would be my death row meal.

Brown bean soup was not tasty, there was not even 1 piece of meat in it, it was watery, not worth repeating Roti can no longer be better as the business was taken over by the children of the previous owner and you can taste it and it is no longer that tasty unfortunately

It depends on who is in the kitchen. Sometimes, the proportions are just not right. One time you get enough chicken, and another time you get too little. And then the potatoes are just not cooked enough. We find this a bit of an issue because how simple is it to cook potatoes? In general, the roti chicken always tastes great. I'm really a fan of it. My husband eats the roti chicken breast. Sometimes we also order a small dish of eggplant on the side because they are quite sparing with the vegetables. In terms of ambiance, it’s not a nice restaurant for dining in. That’s why we never stay. I’d rather go somewhere else that has a pleasant atmosphere.

Hello Unfortunately, I left the place very disappointed without any return for the money I paid, the attitude was unpleasant and the attitude towards me and my partner was beyond criticism. The food was not tasty, very disappointing, most of the dishes are made from scratch and it is not clear why, and on top of that they presented us with a bill that did not belong at all on our table in an attempt to charge more money because they saw that we were tourists. If the place cared about keeping its name, they would make sure to compensate me for it. Liam 050-4785588

Got helped by a not so kind employee who didn’t even know what the vegetarian dishes were when I asked her what each thing was. The food is all heated up in the microwave and in plastic containers, if I had known I wouldn’t have eaten there (if you know the dangers of micro plastic and microwaves you know). Unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend eating here as we had to wait for almost 30min for rice and some veggies (that apparently are heated in the microwave). And since there’s only 2 small tables inside, we couldn’t eat there while it was raining. It did look clean and proper when we arrived there (see photo), even though the food wasn’t particularly special.

Come from Beverwijk especially to get roti and soto soup from the tastiest and best in the area and friendly owner and staff, yes we are very pleased with it.

Excellent food at Rams. Not really suitable for a romantic sit down dinner, but if you are looking for tasty roti, this is the place for you. The other dishes are also excellent. Portioning seems to be getting smaller in recent years. If you walk in spontaneously without having ordered, you should not be in a hurry. Price is reasonable, nice people.

Chicken satay sandwiches not great, a bit dry and no peanut sauce. The pom sandwich was okay, but I've had better ones before. Rotirol is good and spring roll also tasty. Delivery went completely well.

Always busy means the food is tasty. I must say that they have the tastiest roti here in Amsterdam and the surrounding area.

My husband picked up food from Ram's roti (on my advice). When we got home we discovered that the roti plate and bakkeljauw were missing. Called about this and the owner? had our entire order redelivered. Very good service. Truly delicious roti and my husband also loved the food. We will definitely come back! Thank you.

It was one of my favourite places and I recommended it to so many people! However, we got really bad food poisoning the last time we ordered there. Also, the girl who works there was unnecessarily rude after I found out she made me pay more that I should’ve. I mentioned it on the most respectful and kind way, but her whole attitude was so unprofessional and RUDE. I thought she might have had a rough day, but she was kind to another customer who came while I was waiting. Even worse…while I was waiting, she kept staring at me and rolling with her eyes when we made eye contact (super awkward) and also didn’t even respond with “thank you” or “ you too” when I said “thanks, have a good night” after receiving my food. I honestly felt like an unwelcomed stray animal and I was extremely confused by that experience. I didn’t say anything because I was genuinely confused by her whole attitude and I had respect for the rest of the workers there and didn’t want to cause a scene. But after the food poisoning… well, that place is a big no for me now.

Heb afgelopen zondag 2 broodjes kip kerrie gehaald ,kosten 10euro . Het smaakte naar niets ,extreem droog de kipfilet, het enige wat smaakte,was de groentjes die er op lag. Nou dit zou zonde van ieder zijn geld zijn . Het is dan ook de laaste keer dat ik daar iets hebt genomen . RAM'S ROTI.... BEDANKT

This an amazing local spot for Surinamese food. I see a lot of people from the neighborhood coming here regularly as well as many Thuisbezorgd drivers, so you know it's good. i always look forward to eating here.

De snacks vind ik het allerlekkerst. Vooral terie ikan visjes zijn erg lekker.

Helaas woon ik niet in de buurt, maar ik rij graag voor om! Echt overheerlijke roti en overige lekkere eten. Van de snacks vind ik Phulouri het allerlekkerst. Chutney geef ik een 10!

Very long waiting time, good food.

I love this place! Super flavorful, actually spicy (a rarity in NL), perfect portion sizes, and at a great price point. My go-to dish is the chicken on the bone for €9. There are a few tables, but the ambiance is pretty basic, so it's best for take away or a quick bite.

Heerlijke roti, botervis kerrie en telo met knapperige trie!! Alles enorm lekker en goed op smaak. Hier ga ik voor omrijden.

I love this place!!! I was living close by for one year and had it about a million times almost. It never disappointed us. We always choose the vegan option and put some samosas with that. The tastes are incredible every time. I recommend it to anyone who would like to eat roti. I've tried other places but I would say this is the best one in Amsterdam. A.must.try! Staff is always friendly too. Prices great! Enjoy 🤤

Hier maken ze de beste vegetarische roti, broodjes en andere vegetarische gerechten. Er is veel keuze (ik kan nooit kiezen) en is erg goed bereid, de tempe is lekker knapperig.

De roti miste voor mij toch wel smaak. Dat beetje kousenband was karig.

Excellent food, a bit pricey compared to other Surinam foodplaces. But it's worth the price. I highly recommend!!
