Dear donkeys, on Sunday I went to you, ordered roti, chicken in masala, the food was inedible, a strange taste in my mouth, it seemed as if the baking soda was chicken in masala and the garter was raw or not cooked, I think this is really bad business, do you know what you cook and how to cook, I don't want to eat at Roorram anymore, you are ruining your own skin, I had to go to Albert Heijn to wash away the taste

I would avoid it. We ordered with four people Roti Chicken Filet and Lamb. People who only ate the Chicken filet were fine. The rest of us who had the Lamb as well got food poisoning. Like 10 hours after dinner, we started to get symptoms and have been sick for a week. Such a shame :(

Best roti in 2024, (now edited review due to smaller portions and often sold out by-products you would think that after years of being the best Surinamese at Javastraat that you would have the stock in order. But no. They say they are open until 9:00 PM but I have never been able to catch them at it. Just say that your kitchen closes at 8:30 PM. Tldr; delicious food but often sold out and smaller portions than before.

Lamb was tender and tastes good. Pieces of chicken legs are a bit too dry and therefore little taste despite a delicious and deliciously excess curry sauce. Few potatoes on your plate. But the many pieces of meat make up for it. Fast service so no long wait. Long line of takeaways. No yellow discolored nails after eating their Roti :)

The veggie roti disappoints!! Consisted of small beans and mashed potatoes with a small bowl of sambal for €9.50. Actually not possible. No sauce, too little taste, no tofu/egg(white)/meat substitute or extra vegetables.

We were lucky to be able to sit with 5 people, it was very busy, and even though it was our turn at the cash register, we were only helped after more than 10 minutes to take the order. Very disappointing, we used to visit when coming to Amsterdam for the good food but I went today and ordered and as I went to sit down I was told we can’t eat in as she needs to clean up, I mean we was there 45mins before closing time and was told we can’t eat inside because they want to clean up and that’s not our problem as customers. Very disappointed and I hope others see this review and decide to go elsewhere.

After a bad experience six months ago by receiving a roti roll of lamb with potato, while the receipt stated, roti roll, lamb and long beans. There was also little meat and vegetables and many hard pieces of fat on the lamb. So today I tried again and ordered another roti roll and lamb garter. When I handed in my receipt, the roll was already ready and at home I once again found a roti roll with almost only potatoes in it! The meat also tasted bad and was very little and the long beans were almost non-existent. The taste and quality have deteriorated greatly in this tent. I never get my food here!!

Order was incomplete. Forgot to add a large container of potatoes. Nevertheless, a nice meal. Got food again yesterday after 3 months. I was still reimbursed for the large container of potatoes by the cashier without hesitation. No hassle. Another delicious meal, this time with potatoes.

Review adjusted. Overall from 4 to 2 stars. For the taste of the roti I would still give 4 stars, but the taste of the dawet and amount of food is 1 star. The dawet used to be tasty, but this one did not taste good. Different supplier and not a good choice. Previously I was always satisfied with the food, enough vegetables and large roti, but unfortunately this was the result when I opened the packaging. A small layer of garter and a bit of potato. Previously you got 2 full scoops of potato and now 2 half ones. The roti was still the same. And in terms of taste nothing to complain about, so just good. The lady behind the counter was very unfriendly and nagged about the coins we paid with. She claimed that she was not allowed to accept some coins because they were damaged. That made no sense, it was clearly stated how much it was. It just does not shine and she apparently had a problem with that. Very strange way of dealing with customers. Tried other dishes in the past like pumpkin or roti roll, but not worth repeating for me. For my father I always got with chicken and he used to complain about too little meat and only bone.

We were at a roti shop at noon, we paid extra but there was an argument about whether to add potatoes or not, it's strange that I paid 34 euros for two rotis and 4 empty pitas. Every time the potato and vegetables become less and less. I think it's really scandalous how frugal they are with food. I think you're just being cheated in front of you. 12 euros is really not enough for what you get

Ordered yesterday and what a disappointment. 1. The prices and portions have deteriorated beyond belief. A barra chicken 9 euros and a roti roll 14 euros. Rotirol size is ridiculous 2. Not to taste. The barra was soggy/greasy and the chicken had a bad taste. The roti roll consisted mainly of rotivel, chunks of potato mixed in with a little bit of chicken. Ridiculous for this price. Also not in good taste. Even the sambal did not taste good. WHAT HAPPENED HERE? I won't fall for this anymore. From now on only go to Gieta in west ❤️

My visit to Roopram Roti in Amsterdam was unfortunately disappointing. The prices have really skyrocketed, and I felt the quality of the food was disproportionate to the cost. It seemed like the portions were smaller than expected, while the price was on the high side. In addition, the service was not special, which gave the feeling that the customer was not really cared about. For what you pay here, there are certainly other options in the area that are better priced and taste just as good, if not better. I would recommend checking out the competitors before heading here. Unfortunately no repeat for me.

Shrinkflation at Roopram Roti! Ridiculously little potato and long beans and less chicken than usual, for the same expensive price. Tastes delicious, plate very good. But €12+ for such a mouse snack is not normal

Roti roll vega is just long beans and potatoes, for around 12 euros. Really ridiculous. Also mediocre service.

Vegetarian option is pure potato with long beans. No tempeh, tofu, sweet potato and grilled eggplant, as I am used to at Aarti 2. Very small portion. Bara was bone dry. I'm really disappointed, don't go if you're a vegetarian.

Roopram has to think about how little food they give. These Hindustani people are stingy and now we see that better. 18.50 for lamb and still little potato and beans. Shame on you. They just want to make money from dirty backstabbers. Been buying here for years but enough is enough. Fill those bins and don't be stingy because we pay a fortune for it.

I got a really bad stomach flu because of your roti

Antisocial lady not polite when you ask if she wants to wash her hands because she comes from the cash register to help pack the food. She says her hands are clean but she just touched money. I wanted to cancel the order, but that was not possible because I had already paid, but it was difficult to get my money back. Unsanitary. Ir/Madam, I am writing to complain about the plastic surcharge I recently had to pay. I ordered Roti rolls and wasn't expecting a plastic container, as I had my own bag with me. However, we were still charged a surcharge for a plastic bin. This seems unfair to me as I did not receive a plastic container. I would appreciate if you could look into this matter and the fee can be refunded.

Excellent food..very flavorful with a good (optional) spicey hot sauce. Highly recommend it. Mostly for takeout but they have a few tables you can sit at.

The food here is really good. I already tried the chicken roti or the lamb roti and both are super delicious, the quality of the meat is great! The only thing I can point out is that the sauce+meat are too spicy sometimes and for people that can’t eat spicy food is not great. Besides that I totally recommend this place, but to eat outside since the place is small and not very inviting.

I've been coming here for years, but haven't been for a long time. Today I finally got another roti with chicken and a roti roll for my daughter and I. Unfortunately, the roll was not filled properly and the roti chicken had undercooked chicken pieces. The potatoes were still hard and there were large chunks in them. The sauce didn't taste like I was used to and it was too much. Really a shame, because I was a Roopram fan😞. I have now thrown away more than half.

What a difference with the location in Rotterdam. There they use thigh fillet and here I had breast fillet today. Mega dry… Very salty and no hint of a little sweet. Furthermore, there was no egg, roti plate was really not tasty. The taste was terrible and there were no yellow peas in them which they normally have in Rotterdam. The potato was hard and unseasoned. Long beans were big and thick, tasted chemical. This really wasn't good...

Still tasty fresh roti, portions a bit smaller after COVID, but there is inflation everywhere

Yesterday I got roti chicken at 4:00 PM, after opening it around 6:00 PM I smelled an odor, the chicken was soft and overdue, I didn't go back because I don't live nearby. I'm writing this because in all the years I've been passing this has never happened to me.

For me last time, prices have gone up ridiculously and the service has gotten worse! From now on in Osdorp you still pay the normal prices, tastier and good service

Drove from The Hague to Amsterdam for the chicken roti and had no regrets. Roti is as it should be and should taste good.

The attention of the cashier and the cook were very friendly. He helped us with the English translation. The boneless chicken roti is very delicious and looks very good. 100% recommended. You also have a park a few meters away for naps after eating.

I ordered rice with three types of meat to eat on the spot, I literally ate 3 spoonfuls of it and left the rest. It was very bad. Three types of meat all taste the same, almost the same spices used for all types of meat.

Delicious roti. When I get it together with my son, we take a vegetarian and a lamb, because the latter has more than enough meat for two people. The beans are also very good. It has become a lot more expensive, but that applies to more places.

Really ate here for years. When the roti roll was still €5, you got more for your money than you do now. You could then add another plate and you had 2. The reason I stay away is because the roti roll is not even filled anymore, you can now remove 1/3rd plate when you take out a roll. With all due respect it looks more like a bapao. And when I get a regular roti, the content is really minimal. In terms of taste it is always fine.

The lamb and chicken roti was really delicious. The sauce of the chicken was a bit watery but everything else was fine (as always)!

I just have a fear of contamination, I ask them to take that into account... I see that man touching his nose 40 times, wiping and removing crust from his eye... so I ask them to wash their paws properly, they make it so difficult to wash their hands. And they just argue with me about why they have to wash their hands and it's such a small effort. And they say “yes, we stand here all day”… (a reason to wash your hands every now and then, but oh well) kkr lazy and dirty people.

Suddenly much less meat than before! So then you have to order extra chicken. Chicken is also very dry, while you order chicken with bone (which barely has any bone, so it's just chicken fillet). In short, there is scandalous little chicken that is dry.

Then had to wait in 2 lines for 30 minutes. But hey, the money and the wait can all be worth it if it tastes delicious (: Finally it was my turn and I was a little surprised at the amount that was served, but that's okay too, that may have been misjudged by me. Then at home I tried everything put it in the container of a roti house in Leiden to compare for fun, well this container was half full and normally only costs €13.50 when full :p. And then of course I also tasted it, unfortunately this was also a big disappointment , the meat was very tough, and the taste was mainly salty. One of the most famous if not the most famous places to enjoy Suriname/Hindu cuisine. Especially for Roti. The restaurant is narrow and small. Plus it is often very crowded, with long waiting lines. The food is good and always fresh. Prices are average. The staff is always very kind.

Food is delicious. However, to the chagrin of many, the portions have long since shrunk enormously. Roti (roll) is no longer a complete meal. However, prices have always continued to rise. The straw that breaks the camel's back: inflation is now 7.7%. Last January a roti roll cost €7.50 and now (in April 2022) it costs €9.50. Price increase of almost 27%....! Price increase okay, but we are not going to do this anymore.

Delicious food!!! I ordered roti lamb. It's a shame that you got so little potato, vegetables and only 1 pancake for the amount, in relation to the meat, which was a lot. The meat was already seasoned with pepper, which was a negative point for me. I would like to be able to choose how spicy I make it.

Always tasty roti with kind personnel. Takes about 30 minutes to collect your takeaway after ordering at the desk, which is fine. The restaurant itself is very straightforward and not very visually appealing, which is why I always take my food to go.

Rotivel is vers. Kouseband niet vers. En de prijs en porties niet in verhouding. Krijgt weinig eten. Na 17 euro heb je nog steeds hinger. Aardappel is een goedkoop wasrom zo weinig geven? En kip is om te huilen. Weinig tot geen alleen de geur en illusie van kip. En minder geld in je zak want je betaalt wel voor extra kip. Voor mij niet meer. Koop liever bkant en klare roti verpakking maak het zelf. Meer kip aardappel en zelfs een ei voor Minder geld......

Our first time trying surinamese cuisine and hell, it was amazing!! I had Roti Lams but I made the mistake to order it spicy. I thought I can handle spicy (coming from someone who eats kimchi like nobody's business!), but man I was wrong! Pace yourself with the hot sauce, it packs a punch! Oh, and the gorgeous lady who was the restaurant cashier was so kind and friendly. We really felt so cozy there!

Food is so so good (we had roti rol kip with aardappel and kousenband). We love the roti sheets here! You do have to wait quite some time for it, but it is definitely worth it!
