The food and drinks were absolutely delicious! Delicious house white wine and delicious fish risotto. Great service.

Reserved via Social Deal. The starter, the truffle carpaccio, was very tasty, and the veal main course was also well prepared and flavorful. However, we received little attention from the staff, which made the experience slightly less pleasant. Do not book via Social Deal; you will be treated differently and the quality will be substandard. Unfortunately, the dessert was very disappointing. The chocolate mousse seemed to have been thrown onto a plate without any attention. It looked sloppy and uninviting, which was a shame, especially since the rest of the meal was actually good. But the dessert was a disappointing conclusion.

Our experience at this restaurant was unfortunately substandard. It had been confirmed by phone beforehand that we could use the Social Deal menu without a voucher; upon arrival, this turned out to be the only positive point of the evening. Our findings: Food quality: The food was of a deplorable standard and lacked any Italian signature. The bread and spice grinders came straight from the supermarket. The carpaccio was minimal and unbalanced due to an excess of truffle mayonnaise and cheese. The main course we had ordered and received (sea bass and ravioli) was of very poor quality; the fish was dry and tough, the vegetables were undercooked, and the ravioli was dry and extremely salty. We were unable to finish the meal because it was inedible. Service: Our feedback to the waiter that the food was not to our liking was ignored. There was no response or apology whatsoever. Incorrect billing: At checkout, 65 euros were charged, while the total amount (2 x € 26.50 + € 6.50 for water) came to 59.50 euros. A sloppy and unjustified surcharge. General condition: The restaurant looked dingy. Various wall lights were defective and the toilet could not be locked. Given the poor quality of the food, the bad service, and the incorrect bill, we will never return here.

Nope. No sense of hygiene. The table was sticky, the windows were dirty, and we were accompanied by flies. The restroom was as grungy as a gas station's bathroom. Atmosphere was okay due to the interior layout. But next to the paintings depicting classic italian scenery, their own efforts leave much room for improvement. The food was decent. No fingers pointed at the chef, but despite ordering it extra rare, the tenderloin was still tough to eat. Pasta was served with a generous amount and flavourful. Just a tad bit too salty... Definitely has potential but I'll wait a bit before I dine at Restaurant Classico again.

Had a fantastic meal. The atmosphere is perfect.

The restaurant is located just outside the city center, along tram line No. 2. They prepare a variety of excellent Italian cuisine. The staff is friendly and helpful. The restaurant is quite large and is also suitable for hosting events, such as lunches or dinners with friends or weddings. I really enjoyed the rosemary-flavored fillet steak and the fragrant bread served for bruschetta. The wine selection is extensive, including some unique Italian wines.

Our party of 3 enjoyed our 3 separate pasta dishes. Everything was prepared correctly and service was great. We will definitely return when we visit Amsterdam again.

We had such a lovely time here. The owners and staff were so kind and welcoming! Definitely our favorite meal in all of Amsterdam! I went for the truffle pasta and it was phenomenal. My daughter ate her entire dish as well and had so much fun spending time with the owners children. Lovely spot to visit and we will definitely be back!

The chef’s special was delicious! Pasta with creamy alfredo truffle sauce and mushroom chunks so big they looked like meat. Prepared in a cheese wheel right in the middle of the dining area! A meal so delicious it reminded me just how good food can be.

The food itself is pretty delicious, i think the chef is pretty skilled, the only down side it the amount of food i got. I got a ossobuco and my partner got the pasta woth seabass and lobster. The result what we got was i got a very delicious slab of meat, 10 beans and 3 slices of baked potato. And my partner got a couple pieces of pasta with the smallest lobster and maybe 20 grams of seabass fillet. Again the food was delicous, but at 30 euro per dish i would have expexted more dinner so to say. So in short the price/quality/quantity ratio is off, high price, high quality, low quantity.

Overpriced compared to other places closer to the centre. Food is OK but when we attended was not prepared with love. Home made pasta good but salmon in it was overcooked and tough. Dessert was a mess on a plate (a so called “special” which looked like it was made up of what was left in the fridge. The restaurant would benefit from a depo clean (cobwebs and dust on the light fittings and in the bathroom downstairs). There were a couple of fruit flies around which is generally a worrying sign. I would not recommend. La Cantina in town do a better job for us the night before.

We ate here as a party of two and had made a reservation. The positive reviews set high expectations. We were shown to our table, but no one helped us right away. We had to wait quite a while before someone came over with the menu and took our order. The restaurant itself doesn’t feel very cozy. The walls are damaged, the lighting is quite harsh, and it was really cold inside. The food and drinks were served quickly. The pastas are around €25 and taste good. Nothing looks particularly fancy, but that’s not something you necessarily expect in a place like this. What was frustrating, though, was the waiter who didn’t seem to know what he was doing. He had to check everything with someone else, and we constantly had to signal to order more drinks. The staff were also frequently shouting at each other or at the chef. I’m usually not one to complain, but this was genuinely disruptive. As it got busier, it became clear that people who had reservations were still waiting for tables. This created visible stress among the staff and made us almost feel guilty about ordering dessert. Overall, it was okay. There’s definitely room for improvement in terms of professionalism, quicker service, and creating a more welcoming atmosphere.

A bit of a disappointment, though. It was uncomfortably cold in the restaurant. An expensive meat dish with gorgonzala "sous"... a cold chunk of cheese from the refrigerator had simply been placed on the meat. The wines weren't good, especially for that price. In the pasta with salmon and spinach, the spinach was almost completely gone. The restroom was very dirty. The only positive: friendly service from a young man who was the sole manager. Despite the workload, he did so with charm.

If I could give less than one star, I would. A 1 hour 15 minute wait for a measly plate of pasta and a tiny piece of meat with two green beans and three sad-looking pieces of potato. Absolutely no effort was made. Considering the price, I expected better. And yes, there were only three tables. It's far too expensive for what it is. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT!!

Very hospitable and delicious food

Since the food photos on the website looked appealing and the atmosphere was cozy, we decided to eat here before a concert. We could choose between a table next to the outside door or downstairs. We chose downstairs, although it looked a bit bland, but it was better than constantly being in the draft. I'll keep it short: what a mess! The "waiters" were running around like headless chickens, the bread we ordered wasn't delivered that evening (?), and we waited over an hour for our food after threatening to leave. First, one meal was delivered, then five minutes later the other. Regarding the quality: don't be misled by the photos on the website; it really doesn't look like it suggests. It feels like you've stumbled upon a different "restaurant." The spinach in my dish was nowhere to be found, tasted like nothing, and there was no salt or pepper on the table. A disgrace if you call this Italian food! We paid €56 for two main courses and a bottle of sparkling water. After our complaint, we did receive an apology from the waiter (he did try a little), but hey...you can't buy much for that. Mark Aukema

In recent years, the quality has declined significantly. The dishes have also become much smaller.

Found this little gem and what a lovely place, the owner was very, very attentive working his butt off! The food was super delicious. We got a mushroom pasta with a shaved Parmesan cheese very very good and chicken and the bread was fabulous, really everything! Topped off with lemon cello, which tasted homemade and I’m sure it was! Service was great. We had like three different people keeping their eye on us. We had a great bottle of wine that was recommended by the owner a nice red I can’t remember the name of it, but it was very good! I wish I had this restaurant in my neighborhood in Chicago! We certainly had a good laugh, and the boys certainly did their best. But in a restaurant, you can't seat people in a freezing, filthy room with a few hot, chopped-up sandwiches, three arugula leaves as a "salad," and a bowl of anti-flu "mints" as a courtesy. The other dishes were exorbitantly expensive for the poor quality. I wouldn't do it.

We wanted to eat at Classico and reserved a table for four people. When we arrived, there were already several people waiting for a table. After waiting another half hour, we left. If table reservations are offered, then such reservations should be honored. Anything else is a mockery of the guest.

The service was extremely slow. We had to wait 45 minutes for the main course, and in the end we had to skip dessert altogether. What makes this worse is that we informed the staff from the very beginning that we had to leave for a concert afterward, yet nothing was done to accommodate this or speed things up. Additionally, the staff was not very responsive when we tried to ask about the delay. Because of the situation, we had to rush and take an Uber to make it on time. Overall, the experience was stressful and poorly managed. Unfortunately, not a place I would recommend if you are on any kind of schedule.

Great food at this restaurant, the lobster with pasta is delicious. Nice service as well, all seems very Italian. The place is very noisy, though, so hard to have a conversation. Also, avoid the table near the front door, as it closes badly and it is cold there in winter.

The food was delicious, including the pasta, the tenderloin, and the scampi. We were served promptly and didn't have to wait long for our food. Highly recommended, especially considering the price. The decor was a bit austere. There was also a pleasant, lively atmosphere.

Seems like an authentic Italian restaurant. I got the calamarata with langoustine and sea bass which was perfectly seasoned. My partner got the penne with vodka sauce.

I've never seen such a chaotic restaurant...despite making a reservation, we waited 20 minutes for a table, and there were many other people there too! The restaurant was bland, brightly lit, and bare. The young man who served us did his best, but the rest of the staff rushed back and forth. We had to get our food on the table quickly and pay so the next person could sit down...absolutely unacceptable! The food tasted okay, but the portions were more like appetizers. And for that price...it's ridiculous! So after that, you just have to go to McDonald's!

A really nice spot, this, for our meal prior to visiting the wonderful concert hall, Het Concertgebouw. Italian - possibly North-Eastern Italian, food of great quality. We both enjoyed it. My wife's risotto was excellent (and, she cooks a really mean risotto, so she knows), whereas my truffle pasta was immense, and not lacking in trufflicity. Service fairly competant but not faultless (one does not expect such refinement in The Netherlands, after all). I mean you can only get so far in life on a diet of edam interspersed by stroopwaffel!! Generous in giving us a nice liqueur at the end, and, my Affogato / coffee was excellent. Recommended!

I do not recommend taking food to go. The "Rigatoni met tomatensaus en Burrata" was not Rigatoni but Penne and it tasted only okay. They also charged 1€ extra for paying with card under 20€ which was weird.

Came in early for lunch! We were treated very well by the staff and had a wonderful conversation with them about the city and some sites for us to visit. Aside from that, the pasta was very fresh and very flavourful. Portion sizes were just right, and we were both very satisfied after our meal. Can absolutely recommend a visit here!

A real disappointment. It was freezing cold. The downstairs area was very uninviting. The service was pleasant, though. The theater menu wasn't great. Carpaccio and burrata were swimming in oil. The main courses were truly subpar. Far too little and nothing special. No tip. Still, we spent €81. We'll never be back!

If you want home made pasta and delish meals, you will want to eat here. Fabulous Italian style Vibes, and the best Parmesan ever (fresh and lashings). The portions are shareable, so value for money. When I visit Amsterdam again, I’m coming here.

First and last time in this restaurant. Needed to book a table, so we did. Inside it seems as if the restoration/building project left unfinished. Although the owner/manager was welcoming and nice, the atmosphere wasn't comfortable or cosy. Basic menu with regular prices, what later would correspond to medium or small portions. Meat was well-prepared, but it was a small piece, accompanied by 3-4 small drops of potatoes and a drip of veggies. And no, this wasn't high dining either. After we ate and left this restaurant, we went to another restaurant nearby to just fill our stomachs with some more normal food. So if you're looking for Italian - there are some nice alternatives in the neightbourhood, do try those instead.

I had a great birthday with my group; it was fantastic. You should go here for real Italian food.

I have chosen to enter this restaurant as all the other nearby restaurants were full, I was very hungry, and this restaurant had good reviews. I don't understand how this restaurant has good reviews. The restaurant itself looks a bit depressing. As I love meat dishes, I have ordered tenderloin with amaretto sauce, as it sounded delicious. I have waited for my order to be served for a very long time, even though the restaurant was not even half full. When I finally got my order, it looked as depressing as the restaurant itself. The taste did not live up to its name, the piece of meat was very small for the 30 euros it cost, and the garnishing... well, I don't know how they served that dish in all seriousness.

Best restaurant in Amsterdam, I always come here with my large group of friends, and they never disappoint. I've been coming here for four years and would never go anywhere else! Delicious food, great service, great wine!

Despite our reservation there was no table. We waited for over 30 minutes and got a sorry and a drink from the house. Finally at the table, we ordered our food and wine. The food took a long time, the wine never arrived. There was no time left for desert, so we asked for the bill. After hurrying out, I noticed we also paid for the 'complimentary drinks'. Very bad!

Guess family kind runned restaurant with warm services. Pasta is good with the rich saurce. Yummy.

The food was excellent. The decor is simple, but the quality is excellent. It was very busy, so it was a shame that the service timing wasn't optimal. For example, we didn't receive our wine until halfway through dinner.
