If I could give less than one star, I would. A 1 hour 15 minute wait for a measly plate of pasta and a tiny piece of meat with two green beans and three sad-looking pieces of potato. Absolutely no effort was made. Considering the price, I expected better. And yes, there were only three tables. It's far too expensive for what it is. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT!!

Very hospitable and delicious food

Since the food photos on the website looked appealing and the atmosphere was cozy, we decided to eat here before a concert. We could choose between a table next to the outside door or downstairs. We chose downstairs, although it looked a bit bland, but it was better than constantly being in the draft. I'll keep it short: what a mess! The "waiters" were running around like headless chickens, the bread we ordered wasn't delivered that evening (?), and we waited over an hour for our food after threatening to leave. First, one meal was delivered, then five minutes later the other. Regarding the quality: don't be misled by the photos on the website; it really doesn't look like it suggests. It feels like you've stumbled upon a different "restaurant." The spinach in my dish was nowhere to be found, tasted like nothing, and there was no salt or pepper on the table. A disgrace if you call this Italian food! We paid €56 for two main courses and a bottle of sparkling water. After our complaint, we did receive an apology from the waiter (he did try a little), but hey...you can't buy much for that. Mark Aukema

Quite overpriced for the quality of food.

In recent years, the quality has declined significantly. The dishes have also become much smaller.

Good food but small dishes. The stuff is nice. Inside could be crowded because the place is small.

Found this little gem and what a lovely place, the owner was very, very attentive working his butt off! The food was super delicious. We got a mushroom pasta with a shaved Parmesan cheese very very good and chicken and the bread was fabulous, really everything! Topped off with lemon cello, which tasted homemade and I’m sure it was! Service was great. We had like three different people keeping their eye on us. We had a great bottle of wine that was recommended by the owner a nice red I can’t remember the name of it, but it was very good! I wish I had this restaurant in my neighborhood in Chicago! We certainly had a good laugh, and the boys certainly did their best. But in a restaurant, you can't seat people in a freezing, filthy room with a few hot, chopped-up sandwiches, three arugula leaves as a "salad," and a bowl of anti-flu "mints" as a courtesy. The other dishes were exorbitantly expensive for the poor quality. I wouldn't do it.

We wanted to eat at Classico and reserved a table for four people. When we arrived, there were already several people waiting for a table. After waiting another half hour, we left. If table reservations are offered, then such reservations should be honored. Anything else is a mockery of the guest.

The service was extremely slow. We had to wait 45 minutes for the main course, and in the end we had to skip dessert altogether. What makes this worse is that we informed the staff from the very beginning that we had to leave for a concert afterward, yet nothing was done to accommodate this or speed things up. Additionally, the staff was not very responsive when we tried to ask about the delay. Because of the situation, we had to rush and take an Uber to make it on time. Overall, the experience was stressful and poorly managed. Unfortunately, not a place I would recommend if you are on any kind of schedule.

Great food at this restaurant, the lobster with pasta is delicious. Nice service as well, all seems very Italian. The place is very noisy, though, so hard to have a conversation. Also, avoid the table near the front door, as it closes badly and it is cold there in winter.

The food was delicious, including the pasta, the tenderloin, and the scampi. We were served promptly and didn't have to wait long for our food. Highly recommended, especially considering the price. The decor was a bit austere. There was also a pleasant, lively atmosphere.

Seems like an authentic Italian restaurant. I got the calamarata with langoustine and sea bass which was perfectly seasoned. My partner got the penne with vodka sauce.

I've never seen such a chaotic restaurant...despite making a reservation, we waited 20 minutes for a table, and there were many other people there too! The restaurant was bland, brightly lit, and bare. The young man who served us did his best, but the rest of the staff rushed back and forth. We had to get our food on the table quickly and pay so the next person could sit down...absolutely unacceptable! The food tasted okay, but the portions were more like appetizers. And for that price...it's ridiculous! So after that, you just have to go to McDonald's!

A really nice spot, this, for our meal prior to visiting the wonderful concert hall, Het Concertgebouw. Italian - possibly North-Eastern Italian, food of great quality. We both enjoyed it. My wife's risotto was excellent (and, she cooks a really mean risotto, so she knows), whereas my truffle pasta was immense, and not lacking in trufflicity. Service fairly competant but not faultless (one does not expect such refinement in The Netherlands, after all). I mean you can only get so far in life on a diet of edam interspersed by stroopwaffel!! Generous in giving us a nice liqueur at the end, and, my Affogato / coffee was excellent. Recommended!

I do not recommend taking food to go. The "Rigatoni met tomatensaus en Burrata" was not Rigatoni but Penne and it tasted only okay. They also charged 1€ extra for paying with card under 20€ which was weird.

Came in early for lunch! We were treated very well by the staff and had a wonderful conversation with them about the city and some sites for us to visit. Aside from that, the pasta was very fresh and very flavourful. Portion sizes were just right, and we were both very satisfied after our meal. Can absolutely recommend a visit here!

A real disappointment. It was freezing cold. The downstairs area was very uninviting. The service was pleasant, though. The theater menu wasn't great. Carpaccio and burrata were swimming in oil. The main courses were truly subpar. Far too little and nothing special. No tip. Still, we spent €81. We'll never be back!

If you want home made pasta and delish meals, you will want to eat here. Fabulous Italian style Vibes, and the best Parmesan ever (fresh and lashings). The portions are shareable, so value for money. When I visit Amsterdam again, I’m coming here.

First and last time in this restaurant. Needed to book a table, so we did. Inside it seems as if the restoration/building project left unfinished. Although the owner/manager was welcoming and nice, the atmosphere wasn't comfortable or cosy. Basic menu with regular prices, what later would correspond to medium or small portions. Meat was well-prepared, but it was a small piece, accompanied by 3-4 small drops of potatoes and a drip of veggies. And no, this wasn't high dining either. After we ate and left this restaurant, we went to another restaurant nearby to just fill our stomachs with some more normal food. So if you're looking for Italian - there are some nice alternatives in the neightbourhood, do try those instead.

I have chosen to enter this restaurant as all the other nearby restaurants were full, I was very hungry, and this restaurant had good reviews. I don't understand how this restaurant has good reviews. The restaurant itself looks a bit depressing. As I love meat dishes, I have ordered tenderloin with amaretto sauce, as it sounded delicious. I have waited for my order to be served for a very long time, even though the restaurant was not even half full. When I finally got my order, it looked as depressing as the restaurant itself. The taste did not live up to its name, the piece of meat was very small for the 30 euros it cost, and the garnishing... well, I don't know how they served that dish in all seriousness.

I had a great birthday with my group; it was fantastic. You should go here for real Italian food.

Best restaurant in Amsterdam, I always come here with my large group of friends, and they never disappoint. I've been coming here for four years and would never go anywhere else! Delicious food, great service, great wine!

Despite our reservation there was no table. We waited for over 30 minutes and got a sorry and a drink from the house. Finally at the table, we ordered our food and wine. The food took a long time, the wine never arrived. There was no time left for desert, so we asked for the bill. After hurrying out, I noticed we also paid for the 'complimentary drinks'. Very bad!

Guess family kind runned restaurant with warm services. Pasta is good with the rich saurce. Yummy.

The food was excellent. The decor is simple, but the quality is excellent. It was very busy, so it was a shame that the service timing wasn't optimal. For example, we didn't receive our wine until halfway through dinner.

The restaurant's atmosphere is depressing, unfortunately. Nothing but drab gray, no color or ambiance whatsoever. You have to go downstairs to use the restroom, and what you find there is truly shocking. It looks like a warehouse, and the restroom was filthy. The food is okay, but nothing more. There's little real flavor, and the garnishes barely deserve the name. We've recently visited several Italian restaurants in Amsterdam, and they were significantly better. Such a shame!

Arrived without a booking, they were able to seat 2 of us. Ordered the Carpaccio for the starter which was very good, Wife ordered Ravioli of the day, was very good. I ordered the Penne with Speck and this was AMAZING! Highly recommend. Venue is in a quieter part of town, makes for a relaxing dinner with a good wine list.

We had a delightful early dinner at this very authentic Italian restaurant. We enjoyed glasses of both red and White House wines. Both very good. My husband had the Calamarta with langostinos and sea bass. I loved the Oriechetta with mushrooms and sausage. The pastas tasted very fresh. The food was made at time of order. The server was attentive and nice. We set outside and people watched along a lovely street.

Indeed this restaurant certainly has delicious homemade food and the staff are really nice, theres a great view of the back porch and is really cozy. Im a traveler and this is a has to try Italian restaurant . (also theres 2 parrots)

Great taste especially for the Ravioli of the day! Perfect pasta and wonderful sauce despite being modestly presented. The mussels are also wonderful. The staff are helpful too. It was quiet and not too busy despite being on a Friday night.

The food was delicious, but because it was busy and the staff was relatively small, things didn't go smoothly. The starter and drinks arrived very quickly. After a long wait, we had to ask for the main course. Then one of us got hers, and we had to ask for the other's again.

A good Italian restaurant close to the museums area. Offers fine Italian dishes. The sea bass, scallops and the ravioli are recommended.

It was the WORST meal that I had in a very long time. Worse than the "Argentinian stake house." Food took ages, arrived cold, no explanation whatsoever, taste was terrible, and even after complaining, I just got "well, we will do better next time" There is no next time, friend.

Had dinner here with my mother on the occasion of graduating. It was very nice. They make the same sauces for several dishes, so watch what you order before you eat the same thing twice. Fortunately, this was corrected for us after we indicated that it was not clear to us based on the menu. A delicious meal.

Bruschetta vooraf was een half kaiserbroodje dat n beetje geroosterd was…. Er kwam een licht geroosterde bruine boterham in stukjes op tafel als brood met olie, het zag er niet uit en smaakte nergens naar . De pasta was oké.

The food was delicious! We could go with a large group, and the service was great. In addition, we were helped well by Olivier. Location also good.

The appetizer salad was only arugula, some cherry tomatoes and parmesan cheese. The main dish, arugula, was wilted and a very poor salad. Wilted arugula was also used as a green accent for the pasta and risotto. All the dishes were 5€ higher than the price listed on the website. The food was terrible for the price and I will never go there again. I can't recommend it to anyone.

Somewhat pricey, but excellent quality food. The location in a quiet neighborhood is very nice too, sitting outside on a sunny evening is super relaxing. The burrata and the salmon spinach pasta were excellent.

Nice little Italian in Amsterdam where you can eat deliciously. Friendly young man in the service who even smiles at us when he discovers that we are for PSV 😉. The scroppino and tenderloin were delicious. Enjoyed!

An Italian restaurant with very limited food per serving. We ordered a burrata salad (the one shown in the attached photo), and as you can see, it was very small. The second dish we ordered was pasta with tomato and basil; the pasta didn't seem fresh, although the tomato was good. On the other hand, there were very few people at the restaurant when we arrived, and it was a bit dirty, which made us feel less than comfortable. The waiter's service was adequate.

We gingen er voor het concert een hapje eten. We kregen de kaart, maar er was geen concertmenu. De bediening was onverschillig, slordig, geen vriendelijk woord, of alles naar wens was enz. Het eten was wel goed, maar niet mooi opgediend. Geen aandacht van het personeel. Veel lawaai vanuit de keuken , Toilet erg vies! Niet iets om terug te komen. Helaas!

Ate lunch and dessert there. The chef himsef was servicing us and was really welcoming. He was ready to anything to make our date better. Great experience!

Exceptional service and delicious food, to be repeated.

A good restaurant by Dutch standards, offering a culinary experience that is quite distant from traditional Italian cuisine. While the ingredients used are of good quality and the presentation is well thought out, the overall style leans more toward Dutch interpretations than authentic Italian flavors. The service is polite and the atmosphere is pleasant, but the prices are considerably high and not entirely justified by the experience. Overall, a decent option if you’re in the Netherlands and looking for a dining experience with a hint of Italian inspiration, though not truly Italian in essence.

All was good except the wine we ordered was not available, the dish I ordered was not available and then I was overcharged. Otherwise, everything was great.

We arrived 40 minutes before the reservation and didn’t mind waiting. The waiter kindly invited us to wait inside, but then the chef got angry because he wanted to eat and started arguing with him. He spoke Italian, without caring if we understood him. He even started talking down to us. It makes me sad that this country welcomes guests and doesn’t respect them.

Hello, The food was not at all as it is stated on the site. Host came by once. Fish mix was unfortunately inedible. Got 2 prawns that looked spoiled and the salmon tasted like cleaning agent. You do get sandwiches in advance, but these are slices of tiger bread from the supermarket that the host himself also eats in the middle of the restaurant. It also took a very long time before we got something to eat. Too bad, better luck next time!!

Both the risotto and pasta have a firm core and are delicious, including the texture. The pasta with lots of mussels is recommended. The risotto is piping hot with saffron rice and lots of shrimp. The staff are also cheerful Italian 🇮🇹 people.
