Such innovative, delicious and beautiful dishes. You can tell the love and meticulous detail that went into preparing each dish. My favorite hands down was the Turbot with brown butter and truffle orzo. It was TO DIE for. Next up was the nigiri salmon on sushi rice merengue. Never had anything like it before.

Mi pareja y yo estábamos de visita en Amsterdam y queríamos una comida micelina, pero sin la sensación pretenciosa de relleno que a menudo se siente bien en restaurantes Michelin y el Daalder encontrado. A very nice atmosphere. I've never been to a "star restaurant" and didn't know what to expect. The photos online certainly looked casual. It was a very nice experience where you were pampered. Jacket accepted, very very friendly staff with a lot of knowledge and skills, especially passion. It is recommended that you ask for a recommendation for drinks, cocktails or wine. I have never before experienced the enthusiasm with which the service tells us what best suits the next round, or what their favorite cocktail recipe is. It has a price tag, but for the experience and being pampered by the accompanying staff, it was definitely worth it for me. Not to mention the food, because I think you can see plenty of reviews about that at a star restaurant. A great fancy yet casual atmosphere but it is difficult not to smile constantly. “oh this is really cool” was my constant thought line. If you want to treat yourself to a unique experience where explosions of taste and lovely interested people complete your evening, I highly recommend this restaurant. I was afraid that in addition to the well-known price for the dining experience, the drinks would be very high, because I didn't have a drinks menu (it was being worked on, I was told), but I didn't find it shocking and reasonable for the skill and taste. Me and my girlfriend had a great evening, both vegetarian and indicated that my girlfriend doesn't like mushrooms. this was taken into account. Thank you!

Enjoyed our dinner at Michelin star Daalder. We took the tasting experience menu, which was a success and included 4 small bites and 6 courses. Our favorites were the pulpit and the pigeon, while the homemade brioche and butter were a pleasant surprise. Friendly service in a cozy venue, also with some easy listening background music. Michelin star restaurants always come at a certain price, and we believed it covered some good value

Insanely long wait. Dinner takes 5 hours! The decoration of the restaurant is not bad, but there is nothing magical about it. The food is quite interesting, but it’s difficult to call it very tasty. The selection of wines for the dishes served is quite strange; in my opinion, they do not suit each other well. But the most outrageous thing is the waiting time. between sets. Dinner took 5 hours!!! And we left without waiting for the last set and without ordering coffee.

Als gelatine je ding is, ga je gang. Als je dol bent op knoflook, zit je hier ook goed. Maar ik verwacht heel veel meer van een restaurant met een Michelinster. Ik wilde hier al jaren heen en ik kan niet geloven wat een deceptie deze lunch was. Van alle Michelin restaurants waar ik heb gegeten in Amsterdam, was dit de slechtste ervaring. De wijnen waren sub par, de bediening ook. 650 euro extra moeten afrekenen voor wijnen die je onder normale omstandigheden niet eens op het menu terug zou vinden, ik vind het een schertsvertoning. Ja, het was een middag gekoppeld aan Loveland maar je gooit op deze wijze echt je ster te grabbel. Ik zal hier niet nog een keer eten.

If gelatin (???) is your thing, go ahead. If you love garlic, you've come to the right place. But I expect more finesse from a restaurant with a Michelin star. I've wanted to go here for years and I can't believe what a deception this lunch was. Of all the Michelin restaurants I ate at in Amsterdam, this was the worst experience. The wines were sub par, as was the service. Having to pay 650 euros extra for wines that you wouldn't even find on the menu under normal circumstances, I think it's a charade. Yes, it was an afternoon linked to Loveland (as was also said by the staff in advance, don't expect Daalder quality, who says that anyway?) but you are really wasting your star this way. I won't eat here again.

Na eerdere ervaring in het restaurant via Sous het thuismenu besteld voor 2 personen. Niet echte goedkoop voor bij EUR 200, maar wel veel goedkoper dan in het restaurant. De video’s van de chef kok zijn heel duidelijk en de gerechten zijn goed zelf te maken. Het neemt wel even tijd, maar dat was juist leuk op oudejaarsavond. Wel blijkt de inhoud van de bakjes veel kariger dan op de video, 2 bakjes zijn zelfs zo goed al leeg. Kennelijk 1 van de laatste dozen. Maar de smaken zijn zeer uitbundig en vallen in goede aarde. Zelf een paar goede wijnen erbij en we hebben een topavond.

Had a great meal at Daalder! We were with a large group yesterday, and it was all really fantastically organized. We were warmly welcomed and the atmosphere in the restaurant is relaxed and nice. We had a wonderful experience because the food was really good, but also because the sommelier came up with beautiful and daring drink pairings. Everything came together beautifully. The dish with octopus and grapefruit will stay with me for a long time! A memorable experience!

The atmosphere seems a bit “forced” hip/artsy and was missing a special buzz/vibe. The description of the dishes provided a promise of an Explosion of taste, which sadly wasn’t delivered. Average rated wines are MASSIVELY overpriced. The chef is not stopping by to greet the limited amount of guests who are spending €500+ per couple there. Staff is friendly, service is seamless (5 ⭐️) 3 ⭐️ represent a balance between total experience vs price. All in all it was a … nice evening.

I had a somewhat unusual experience at Daalder, because I was unfortunately the victim of food poisoning (due to a pastry eaten before the restaurant). Despite this, the team was absolutely adorable and attentive throughout the meal. I couldn't finish my dishes, but every bite I tasted was exceptional. The service was impeccable, the atmosphere warm, and the attention paid to customers is truly rare these days. I am disappointed that I was not able to fully enjoy this culinary experience, but I am already looking forward to returning in better conditions. everything here was mediocre. it was meant to be a michelin star restaurant but nothing was worth that title. starting from the atmosphere it was below average but we continued to give the place a chance. from sitting down we didn’t feel taken care of - the manager wasn’t welcoming and we were offered to try things outside of the chef’s menu, things that didn’t go with the menu at all. the food was honestly very bad. the only good thing was the croissant with butter — after they brought us cod with two sauces that tasted very bad and smelled like corpse. you can have a michelin star but you should know that these two dishes do not go with each other because i was ready to throw up. and to top off this experience at the end their card machine did not, not only for me but for the two people next to me as well. when their machine didn’t worked they asked me to give my account info or go to the bank to get cash. at the end i solved the problem with the card reader by inserting my card instead of tapping. when i spoke to the manager she didn’t do anything and just said sorry. i have been to other michelin star restaurants but this has been the worst and so far from the experience one might expect

Definitivamente pídale una recomendación sobre qué beber. Sacó este increíble vino dulce español para el sampler de queso opcional (entiendes). The place is quite peculiar in terms of atmosphere and lighting. The food was not bad, I think what surprised us the most were the starters. The waiting times between courses are extremely long and the evening becomes heavy. We arrived at 6:25 p.m. and left at 10:43 p.m., which seems outrageous to me. The pleasant and attentive treatment. They don't have much of a variety of cocktails but the one we tried was very good.

The sommelier (I didn’t catch her name but she’s new, started in Feb 2024) and was LOVELY. We ordered the chefs menu and everything was so good. We legit couldn’t eat any more food. The only course that was just ‘ok’ was the lamb course. Everything else we ate and drank was so so good. The pairings were unique and very interesting. We had a great time for our anniversary dinner while in Amsterdam - and this experience made it so special.

First of all, the ambient light is purple and green which gives me the impression of being at a lousy bar. Second, the food is rather mediocre as a fine dining. The two appetizers were way too salty, and the hamachi salad tasted very strange with the foamy sauce. The main lamb neck was cooked very tender however, the taste lamb was very strong. The only dish that I think it’s okay is the pasta. Last, it took almost three hours for us to finish the menu. The wait time between each course is very very long.

A few years ago I had dinner at the old location with my wife, we sat at the "chef table" at the bar, great memories, food was great and service was very good. September 2, 2024 new location things were a bit different..... Beautiful thing for sure, you either like it or you don't. Service, two completely different ladies, service certainly good, only a very present lady who could only talk in the "I" form, I had quite a problem with that. I am severely allergic to mushrooms and clearly indicate this by email, as it is really not possible to get a dish with mushrooms in a star restaurant. We got a dish with cod, mashed potatoes and hollandaise sauce, fish was undercooked, the end piece was of the lion, and did not smell fresh. After we received a much too salty candied lamb, I asked for the bill, paid it and left the place very quickly. It's a shame that this evening turned out this way.

I want to warn, check not only a bill, but an amount debited from your account. They show you the correct bill and then type a bigger sum in the payment terminal. In my case they excluded deposit from the bill amount, but when I checked my account I found out that the whole sum was debited. I had to return to the restaurant and they gave me my deposit back in cash. If you look through others reviews you can see that it happened with other clients too. Despite this I have to say the food was very tasty and served beautifully. And the wine pairing was well too. Service was ordinary. Only difference with non-mishlen restaurants - they quickly named the ingredients of the dish, when brought it. The money deception ruined all the impression.

Trust your instincts! This place has incredible food, however you WILL be there for at least 3+ hours and you WILL leave hungry. Daalder is outside of the more touristy city center, but I am glad I made the trip here. I did the longer tasting menu, and had the sommelier do some wine pairings; everything was excellent, although the oyster was a particular standout. Particular thanks for the excellent service to a solo diner.

Although the food was delicious, unfortunately the service was very poor. My husband and I felt quite neglected during dinner. After our aperitif we sat without a drink for 45 minutes. We had to ask three times if someone could come to our table to explain the wine options before someone finally came. My partner had also informed them in advance that this was a birthday surprise and the restaurant told him that they would prepare a special dessert but nothing came. We have informed the staff and sent an email to let management know about our experience and disappointment but we never received a reply. I guess they don't really value customer feedback and thats why we’re writing this public review. Its a shame because the food was very nice but given the poor service I don't think this restaurant deserves a michelin star.

Had a very bad experience. Not customer friendly at all when we wanted to change something in our reservation. And when checking the receipt, extra items appeared to be attached. This was on the recommendation of other guests who left the restaurant just before us. They advised us to check the receipt carefully (fortunately).

I tried the tasting menu. From the first dish to the last every single one of them impeccably presented and tasted sublime. I also liked their laid back attitude, great for travellers. Would definitely recommend to try.

With a friend to Daalder, initially for the streetfood, but since the weather was bad, we decided to upgrade. In hindsight, no regrets, even way better. About the food: We chose the experience menu, and it was the best choice. I don't think we could have done the other menu, too much for us. We truly enjoyed every dish, and the first bite was spot on. In one word:fantastic! In Melayu I would say: luar biasa! Everything was prepared with lots of care. We did have to mention that the food shouldn't be served too quickly one after the other. The wines recommended by Saskia perfectly complemented the meal. What a lovely and amazing person she is. Saskia fits the family vibe that Chef Dennis aims to create at Daalder. Staff: Saskia was outstanding, a sommelier who knows her job and can tell the story behind the bottle of wine which she recommanded. The service from the young blonde lady and the young men was superb! Very attentive and so customer-friendly. The young lady apologized because they forgot to explain which cutlery to use/start with. This is what I call class: stepping up and taking your responsibility. The manager, we found to be the least impressive. It felt like she didn't really belong there, seemed lost. As the Moluccans would say: muka culas. But hey, despite this minor thing, we had a blast of an evening. The staff who prepared the food were cheerful and exuded hospitality. I'm a person who relies on my feelings, and due to my work, I can quickly analyze if someone fits into the work environment. In general, they are young people with a healthy drive and a strong work ethic. Except for one employee who didn't show her "Michelin customerservice". Conclusion: Would definitely recommand Daalder. It's trendy, cozy with a relaxed ambience. Thank God the set up is on a small scale, so it won't be overcrowded. Daalder has no pretentious, overly fancy intentions. It's a restaurant where you can walk in wearing your everyday clothes (which my friend did). A beautiful evening with an incredibly good kitchen. Went to Daalder for the lunch menu. The normal version for me and the vegetarian version for my wife. This went well, with very tasty food that looked great, until we were both served meat for the main course and so something vegetarian had to be quickly put together for my wife, which was nothing compared to the dishes in terms of taste and presentation. that we had received for this purpose. The fact that the previous dishes were vegetarian and there were only six people present (ourselves included) does not lead to much understanding on our part. This is a mistake that is really unacceptable at a star restaurant. A free cocktail was little consolation.

Wat een tegenvaller! De serveerster dreunde op dwingende, agressieve wijze de samenstelling van de gerechten op. Er werd voor twee lege glazen en een karaf water 2x 15 euro in rekening gebracht. De amuses waren bijna onzichtbaar, zo klein. De hoofdgerechten ondefinieerbaar qua smaak en samenstelling. En een uur na het eten verraadden mijn uitgedroogde tong en mondholte dat er een smaakversterker gebruikt was. Voor wat? Absoluut niet de moeite waard. We hadden beter met een lekker, eerlijk broodje op een van de bankjes naast het terras kunnen gaan zitten, want het is wel een mooi gebouw en punt in de stad.

My husband and I chose Daadler to celebrate our first wedding anniversary at a Michelin-starred restaurant. Despite our high expectations, our experience turned out to be quite disappointing. Unfortunately, the sommelier never appeared, and we were left waiting until we received a suggestion that did not meet our tastes. This happened twice during our meal, severely disrupting our experience. Consequently, we ended up eating some dishes without an appropriate wine pairing. It's worth noting that in my experience with Michelin-starred restaurants, there is typically a wine pairing menu available alongside the tasting menu. Additionally, despite booking in advance and paying a 100 euro deposit, which was supposed to be deducted from our bill, we realized after leaving that this had not been done. Returning to rectify the situation, we found the suggestion of receiving the deposit back in cash unusual. The dining experience itself lasted an unexpectedly long 4 hours, which compounded our dissatisfaction. This might have been more tolerable had the overall experience been better. Furthermore, we noticed several minor yet notable lapses in a Michelin-starred restaurant: our table was unstable, the sofa I sat on had stains, and there was confusion regarding our food preferences and menu selection, despite us clearly indicating these during booking. Additionally, when leaving, the staff brought the wrong jackets, adding to the overall disorganization. Lastly, upon visiting the restroom before leaving, we found it lacking hand towels and any available paper for drying our hands. First, the food is insanely good and we thoroughly enjoyed every bite (although some bread for getting that last bit of sauce would be sublime :) However, the service staff seemed to be in a bit of a bad mood and therefore it made all interactions a little awkward. It did amuse us, but honestly for the price one would expect some more hospitality. The sommelier and kitchen staff, however, were so nice and enthusiastic so that definitely made up for the otherwise weirdly unhappy interactions. They seemed to also become more friendly the closer we came to tipping/paying lol Anyways, not sure whether this is common in dutch Michelin starred restaurants, but it was a first time I experienced it in similar restaurants in Amsterdam. Overall, I would recommend the food and consider whether I care about being received warmly when spending about 300€ per person for an evening!

Everything's great, the sommelier and the chefs are all lovely. HOWEVER, the waitresses seemed to be in an unbelievably bad mood and irritatingly impolite. Admittedly, it was an amusing situation, also watching the other guests being bamboozled by their bad demeanour, yet if you don't expect yourself enjoying the absurdity of spending EUR 1'000 while getting treated like a piece of smelly garbage by, once again, only a part of the staff, maybe spend that money elsewhere. An experience for sure. And, to be fair, the closer they got to getting rid of us, the more they seemed to warm up. Maybe it's just welfare state culture, I wouldn't know.

Had a great time, a theater! Senses and mind are stimulated, well cared for from start to finish. We were served delicious dishes accompanied by the most beautiful drinks; Each glass has a personal story and its function is explained with enthusiasm, pleasure and substantiation: a complement, a harmonious combination or a wine that is a reset button to enjoy again with the next bite. Everything is pure indulgence. Saskia's stories and anecdotes make the evening just that little bit sweeter and the experience really complete. Chef Luuk put on a fantastic evening and occasionally explained his dishes himself. He does this in a relaxed manner and proudly talks about the end result. Cheers to team Daalder! We are fans. Food - amazing and totally deserving of its star Service - one or two good staff, the rest not attentive at all. The neighbouring table got one more desert than we did (also checked the menu afterwards), so I think they forgot to serve us the Daalder stroopwafel (!?) Also, any options regarding wine/drink pairing was not presented. Table next to us got a sake pairing, which looked nice 😂 Atmosphere - nice and different for a Michelin place. Wish the bathrooms were a bit tidier though, was quite messy although the restaurant was only half full :/ Hope to see some definate improvements in servive for next time!

Hamachi was excellent. Lamb nice on the inside but seared way too hard on the outside. Putting a bottle of sparkling water on the table and charging for it 5 minutes before we left is beyond childish. Saskia is an excellent sommelier on whose advice we drank delicious wine. We will not be back for the time being.

The cooking at Daalder is spectacular -- couldn't be better. The sous-chef was cooking the evening we visited. He couldn't have been more engaging, and he provided superb commentary on the various dishes. The atmosphere / ambiance are uneven. The decor and music seem somewhat at odds with the reverent feelings evoked by the cooking. One of our servers was friendly and upbeat. The other seemed bored -- or maybe disappointed at our choice of a non-vintage champagne. All in all, you should visit solely to experience Daalder's cooking. It's extraordinary.

Partly indefinable dishes (as if people no longer know what to make) with heavy sauces. Main course pigeon simply below standard and the presentation somewhat unappetizing. Service level okay, but not two stars. For example, a dish was served when one of the table guests had gone to the toilet. 3 glasses of champagne 90 euros. Water service 12.50 per person. Ate here for the first time this week, the welcome was very warm. What is irritating these days is always the first question, "Shall we start with a bubble and a nice oyster?" The menu was very limited, the choice was either fish or vegetarian. We chose the 4 course dinner which was very tasty, but the main course was a bit lacking.
