An unforgettable fine dining experience! The chef’s tasting menu was a true journey through flavors. Unexpected ingredient combinations that seemed unlikely to work together were transformed into perfect harmony, creating a genuine explosion of taste. Every course was thoughtfully crafted and beautifully executed. We visited as a group of four, and with two excellent bottles of wine, the total bill came to around €2,000. While certainly not inexpensive, the quality of the cuisine, the level of service, and the overall experience made it a memorable evening.

Service and food are both top tier, super professional. Pigeon is the main course you would like to try. As the link to a Bakery on the current site, you would love their sour dough bread with butter.

I believe Vinkeles has 2 Michelin stars and it is well deserved. Food was really great, usually with so many courses, only a couple stand out but they were almost all exceptional. Make sure to save room for the madeline at the end, it was exemplary of what a madeline should be. Service was impeccable, as was expected. Atmosphere was intimate and set in a historical building, for which you get a little informative booklet about. Highly recommended for lovers of fine dining.

We have recommended Vinkeles to our "foodie" friends. We have dined at Michelin 1- 2- and 3-star restaurants throughout Europe, and the service at Vinkeles was as good as we have experienced anywhere. Friendly, but exceptionally attentive and professional. The food was wonderful. We loved everything on the menu, especially the oysters and the perfect turbot, and the amuse bouches worked well with the other dishes on the menu. The sommelier was very helpful in choosing a great white Burgundy to go with the food. Finally, the space is fascinating and creates a wonderful atmosphere.

Best restaurant in Amsterdam without question. But also, just simply one of the best restaurants. Service food atmosphere all exceptional. My only issue at this restaurant is i wish they would change the menu more often, but that is only because i have been there so many times ive had all their dishes for this season. My husband and I ordered the chef's seven-course tasting menu, which included a selection of seven wines to accompany each course. Since we're not heavy drinkers, the waitress kindly agreed to share the glasses. As my English isn't very good, the staff went to great lengths to ensure we had a wonderful experience. We enjoyed some dishes, while others were less impressive. The wine pairings were truly excellent. I'm only giving it four stars because we've already had a one-star experience in Amsterdam and had such an incredible time that we felt a two-star experience would surpass our previous one. Honestly, I enjoyed it, but it didn't exceed my expectations. Otherwise, the place is very warm and intimate, and the service was top-notch. 👌

Last Saturday, January 31, 2026, four of us dined there. Upon entering the hotel/restaurant, we received a warm and friendly welcome. The restaurant isn't luxurious, but it is very clean and has a calm and pleasant atmosphere. The male waiter spoke clearly, was confident, very polite, and provided excellent service. We were first served three amuse-bouches, the names of which I don't remember, but they were truly delicious. Because we were short on time, we opted for the à la carte menu. Starters We ordered three sweetbreads – they were truly delicious, truly outstanding. We also ordered one sea bream – which was a bit disappointing, unfortunately. The fish and vegetables were cut into square shapes with sauce on a flat plate. It was difficult to properly taste the sauce. A slightly deeper plate would have made eating with sauce easier. Mains Two pigeons au sang – very tasty and excellently prepared. 1x Turbot – the fish was fresh and delicious. 1x Wagyu A5 Nakayama with caviar – I didn't try this myself, but my girlfriend said the meat was very tender and delicious. Desserts 3x Clementine – tasty and not too sweet. 1x Soufflé – delicious. Drinks There is a wide selection of wine and cocktails. Cons 1. The staff should lead the way to the table. 2. The young female staff member needs some training; she was visibly nervous and unsure of herself when explaining the dishes. But everyone should have the opportunity to learn. 3. Mocktails: We ordered a Virgin Tonic and an Oscar Wilde – both tasted decent. This might just be us, as we normally drink with alcohol. Conclusion Overall, it wasn't a bad experience. We were particularly impressed with the quality of the food and will definitely return.

There seems to be some controversy w the pigeon au sang signature dish. I can understand as it is a very RICH dish, but if you like rich foods, this is up there w some of the best meat dishes ever for me personally. We’ve been to some Michelin stars restaurant in the past around the world and I must say that the chef’s menu and the standard wine pairing was way beyond this world. Was an interesting dining experience. Some amazing bites, some not so much. Service staff was top notch, knowledgeable and attentive. The wine pairings they suggested were spot on.The main course failed to live up to expectations, Pigeon “au sang”, was a little too salty, and a touch dry ( I know, it is a lean bird, it was still dry).

We attended a corporate event with about 70 people at Vinkeles in The Dylan. The organization was excellent, service very professional and smooth. The menu featured beautifully presented small dishes with refined flavors, a real fine-dining touch. A unique and elegant experience in a stunning setting.

Excellent Michelin-starred restaurant This restaurant is located inside the Dylan Hotel in Amsterdam, in the city center. When I travel, I always try one or more Michelin-starred restaurants, especially to see the difference in quality compared to those in Italy. We enjoyed almost all the dishes, especially the appetizers. As for the service, the waiters were all very attentive, kind, and helpful.

They serve some strange Japanese-inspired dishes, but the food is generally very tasty. I'd definitely like to go again.

At the end of the conference, I had a meeting with a special guest and wanted to choose a fine dining restaurant to mark the occasion. We decided on Venkeles Restaurant. The meals were absolutely delicious, with beautiful presentations, a variety of ingredients, and unique combinations. The desserts at the end were fantastic, making the experience truly memorable. Interestingly, the restaurant is located where the first theater of Amsterdam once stood. The new cocktail menu is inspired by this rich history, with cocktails categorized into four different types. Non-alcoholic drinks are also available, which was great news for me ✨

Exceptional ambiance with very personal service We received a very friendly welcome and were shown to our table. Our companion for the evening, Julia, was an exceptionally friendly, competent, and, above all, personal contact. The food was delicious, with innovative combinations, matching china, and beautifully presented on the individual plates. The accompanying wines – even just by the half glass – complemented the individual courses perfectly. We would be happy to return and look forward to the stylish ambience.

Overall, a medium experience. There is a long walk through another restaurant/bar to the actual restaurant. The bathrooms are also far away. We were only provided a menu with 2 options for 7 courses, while patrons behind us, received that option and Al carte options. Very strange. The hot (temperature wise) dishes were not the correct temperature either. The langoustine was overpowered by the duck liver. The rest of the dishes were good. The bread was okay. The cost of water was not listed but ended up being 12 euro per bottle. The 7 course menu could be paired with wine, it said 18 euro. It did NOT specify per glass, leading to an additional 126 euro charge. For three people, the total was 1000 USD. Very deceptive menu and charging. We arrived at 1845 and did not leave until 2300, the timing between courses was extremely excessive and took away from the experience. We noticed others received their food much quicker. Overall, this restaurant doesn't deserve two Michelin Stars, the ambience, deceptive pricing, and course structure ruined the experience.

We dined at Vinkeles in Amsterdam on a Friday night with high expectations befitting a two-Michelin-star establishment. While the setting is undeniably charming (intimate tables, pristine tablecloths, and a unique ambiance housed in a former theatre bakery) the experience fell short on nearly every other count. The evening began with confusion. Three amuse-bouches were served before the menu was even presented. After querying the absence of the fourth, the waiter seemed unaware and only delivered it later, rebranded oddly as an “extra bite” before starting with the dinner, despite its inclusion on the menu. The food itself was consistently overpowering. Flavours leaned heavily on bisques and aggressive sauces, masking rather than showcasing the core ingredients. As a pescatarian, I had informed the restaurant in advance. While others received a rich pigeon dish, my substitution — a sparse mushroom — felt like an afterthought, both nutritionally and creatively, with no compensation for the imbalance. Service throughout was far from what one expects at this level. Waitstaff lacked attentiveness, forgetting my tea and failing to convey the level of polish typically associated with a fine-dining experience. Most disturbing of all, a wine service table was placed a mere 20 cm from ours, where staff spat wine from their mouth into a bucket right beside us throughout the whole dinner! Astonishingly inappropriate in any restaurant, let alone one with two stars! While the setting promised an experience of refinement and intimacy, the execution -from service missteps to culinary imbalance- felt more like an ordinary restaurant clinging to accolades it no longer earns. One is left wondering not just how it holds two stars, but why it still should.

Experience was disappointing, especially compared to other 2 star establishments in Amsterdam such as Ciel Blue or 212. Partly indefinable dishes (as if people no longer know what to make) with heavy sauces. Main course pigeon simply below standard and the presentation somewhat unappetizing. Service level okay, but not two stars. For example, a dish was served when one of the table guests had gone to the toilet. 3 glasses of champagne 90 euros. Water service 12.50 per person. Bill not in proportion to the. quality. Shame.

Had a wonderful culinary experience at Vinkeles with the chef's menu including wine pairing. We started festively with a glass of bubbly, followed by one beautiful course after another – lots of exquisite seafood, perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. The wines were perfectly matched to the dishes. The service was top notch: professional, friendly and well timed. As an extra addition I had the sweetbreads – absolutely worth it. Everything was delicious, although I thought it was a bit on the salty side. But it was busy and I didn't want to disturb the atmosphere, so I kept it to myself. All in all, an evening that made me very happy!

This place is amazing. We spent 350 euro for dinner and it was extremely delicious. I really liked they have tap water and don’t charge anything for it. White tea drink with bubbles from Denmark was also delicious. Vegetarian menu is the best!

Great experience! Both the dishes and the service were of an excellent high level! We often visit Michelin restaurants but this was a better experience than most. Without mentioning names, we went to another two star restaurant a week before which was significantly inferior to Vinkeles!

Si bien hay algunos aspectos destacados dentro de ciertos componentes del menú servido, como el merengue salado en general, estábamos un poco abrumados. Se hizo hincapié en el tema asiático. Estoy seguro de que muchos encontrarán su atractivo y quedarán impresionados por el sabor que se ofrece. Desafortunadamente, para nosotros, una buena manera de decirlo, es que no sentimos el equilibrio de los platos que se adaptan a nuestro paladar. Sin embargo, fue una experiencia digna.

We (7) had the chef’s menu in Dec 2024. The food, the service, the setting - all exquisite and as you would expect at a fine dining location. But it went beyond this; it was a memorable experience in itself and worth every penny.

Hoge verwachtingen? Jazeker, we wisten waar we naartoe gingen. Een mooie lokatie, 2 sterren Michelin en een stevige prijs voor een Chef’s menu. Zijn die verwachtingen vervuld? Nee, jammer genoeg niet. Met bovenstaande kwalificaties mag je hopen weggeblazen te worden met iedere gang die gepresenteerd wordt. Gerechten die verrassen, bekoren en je tong strelen. Was het slecht? Nee natuurlijk niet, de lokatie is inderdaad fraai, het personeel vriendelijk en goed. Onze plaats iets minder, een tafel in de grote ruimte was leuker geweest, maar dat had waarschijnlijk te maken met het late tijdstip van reserveren. We zaten met z’n drieën in een soort van alkoof wat een beetje ten koste ging van de beleving. Het Chef’s menu had samenhang en ritme. Mooie producten prachtig opgediend maar zeker 3 van de 7 gangen waren te zout. En vrijwel ieder gang had het formaat van een amuse! Brood en boter is werkelijk heerlijk en wordt rijkelijk aangevuld gedurende de dis. Eerlijk gezegd spijt dat ik hier niet meer van gegeten heb want ik stond op met honger. Resumerend zijn we helaas teleurgesteld in het gebodene. En dat heeft dan ook wel te maken met de uiteindelijke rekening van ongeveer Eur825 voor 3 personen. Voor dat geld hadden we heel graag blij en opgetogen het restaurant verlaten.

High expectations? Yep, we knew where we were going. A beautiful location, 2 Michelin stars and a good price for a Chef's menu. Have those expectations been met? No, unfortunately not. With the above qualifications, you can hope to be blown away with every course that is presented. Dishes that surprise, delight and caress your tongue. Was it bad? No, of course not, the location is indeed beautiful, the staff is friendly and good. Our place was slightly smaller, a table in the large room would have been nicer, but that probably had to do with the late reservation time. The three of us sat in a kind of alcove, which somewhat detracted from the experience. The Chef's menu had coherence and rhythm. Beautiful products beautifully served, but at least 3 of the 7 courses were too salty. And almost every course was the size of an amuse-bouche! Bread and butter is truly delicious and is richly replenished during the meal. To be honest, I regret not eating more of this because I woke up hungry. In summary, we are unfortunately disappointed with what was offered. And that has to do with the final bill of approximately Eur825 for 3 people. For that money we would have loved to leave the restaurant happy and excited.

Had an amazing experience - both the vegetarian and the non-vegetarian courses (with the wagyu) were simply mind-blowing. The chef's surprises, the seabream, the oyster, wagyu and the dessert were sublime and to-die for. In the veg courses - the main course (the porcini mushrooms) were absolutely divine. Just one thing that somewhat ruined the experience - being charged for water refills without being informed by the staff. It isn't nice to pay 50 euros for tap water when the staff doesn't inform you that refills aren't free. In terms of atmosphere, the restaurant is a little small and gets very loud, which I didn't appreciate that much.

Food and service were exquisite. The oyster entree left my girlfriend and me speechless. The pigeon was well balanced with the acidity of the cherries. The dessert had a lot of different textures that left us with a fresh palate. The sommelier and all the staff were extremely knowledgeable and very aware of details. Special mention to Valentino that treated us in a formal, yet amicable way. Would endlessly recommend! Keep the good stuff coming :)

Fantastic environment in The Dylan's restaurant. Vinkeles is located in the old historic bakery with one of the top kitchens in Amsterdam. Great service fortunately not stiff at all but relaxed. The service takes the time to explain the menu and later the dishes at the table. Fortunately, the wine list is not boring and even has a choice for less than 10 euros per glass. All dishes are tasty and refined. You certainly shouldn't miss the sweetbreads here. And for those with a sweet tooth, the friandises with coffee or tea are a sure thing.

This restaurant is impeccable in every category.. classic French cooking with a modern presentation. We loved every dish and wished for seconds on the pigeon and the poached oysters in beurre blanc. Our server was attentive and assisted by the maître and sommelier. Prices are extremely digestible for the quality of the restaurant. It is also situated in the beautiful Dylan Hotel. Worst Michelin experience ever. Please don’t waste your money here! Total spam. The main dish (pigeon) was so salty that we kindly told the manager about how we felt about the taste. She had a very strong attitude and said “I think the dish is just having strong flavor” and walked away. We left the dish there with only a few bites and when the server were taking the dish back, we told them again (seems strange they didn’t even ask why I left it barely un-touched) that we didn’t like it and we have had many good main dishes at other Michelin restaurants. They didn’t even bother to respond with a strong, cold attitude (As if I’m the one who couldn’t appreciate). This is not the Michelin standard I was expecting, food and service. We have had many great Michelin experience worldwide and this one feels like a spam. Please reconsider and don’t come here. I sincerely hope you enjoy food elsewhere.

I always eat at Vinkeles when I'm in Amsterdam (at least, when I can get a reservation), and it has never let me down. My wife and I had a pre-dinner drink in their comfortable bar, and then went to the restaurant when we were ready. It looked as though they had some sort of high society event in a private room, but other than causing some noise, it didn't really bother us. The food and wine pairings were as good as ever. We will be back.

The chef got his stars for a reason! If you’re wondering if the dinner is worth it, if it lives up to its reputation, or if you’ll enjoy every course… yes, yes, and yes! The wine pairings make a LOT of sense with this tasting menu. Of the Michelin restaurants I’ve enjoyed, this wine pairing was by far the best overall. My liking for it was not because the wines were exceptionally rare or exotic, but rather because they simply paired so nicely with each course. Fair warning there were a couple sweeter wines mixed in, but not so sweet as to teeter on out right misplaced dessert wines. With all this praise, I must add, this was surprisingly my second favorite Michelin experience in Amsterdam. The best overall remains the tasting menu at MOS, that we had the day prior, just outside Amsterdam Central Station. Vinkeles is absolutely fantastic, but it’s an unbelievably close second to MOS in my opinion. Truly special and would happily dine here again!

I thoroughly enjoyed the inventive cuisine, took a la carte and it did not disappoint. The 2 points for improvement for me are 1) cocktails; the presentation could be elevated to be on par with the food experience and 2) the service; some staff were great some stiff and not attentive enough (sorry for a 2*, one can be demanding… just a benchmark based remark) and to top it …we were asked if we had paid after moving to the courtyard for drinks with friends… the tone of the request was slightly condescending; dont ask your guests, in case of doubt check with the team. Please do your job this is not Gauchos. That was a bit of a mood killer.

Beautifully enter the Dylan and then be guided to the wonderful and elegant dining room of Vinkeles. We had a very nice table with a view of the magnificent historic patio, which is beautifully planted and lit. In combination with the skilled and attentive service, a dream venue to go out. We took the 6-course chef menu with an amazing cheese platter of Dutch cheeses. Nicely warm and very complete with delicious accompaniment. About the entire menu. Stunning in balance, execution and layout. We enjoyed it so much. After the fish dishes, we are often a bit disappointed with the meat mains. The wagyu that we were presented excelled in fantastic sear, especially because, I suspect with extra time, it was possible to also add the characteristic fatty alloy. Present impressive extra melting cooking. Never had such an excellent meal. Overall, great experience at Vinkeles. What a recommendation.

Nous avons passé un très bon moment au restaurant Vinkeles. Le personnel était pro et attentionné et l'accord mets et vins parfait. Ma compagne étant allergique à l'ail, tout à été fait pour qu'il n'y en ait pas dans ses plats et nous vous en remercions de tout cœur. Le repas était magnifique, mention spéciale pour les crevettes , la sole et le pigeon, ainsi que l'assortiment de fromages néerlandais avec son accompagnement d'un verre de macvin proposé par le directeur de salle. Nous recommandons sans restrictions, évidemment cela a un prix, mais l'excellence se paie.

I had a wonderful night at Vinkeles for a birthday celebration. The service was exceptional and the dishes and wine complemented each other amazing. If you want an amazing culinary evening, don't look any further :)

It is said that you should never meet your hero's, never tug on superman's cape and don't return to a restaurant expecting the same experience. This is not the case with Vinkeles. We dined here about 20 months ago and I wrote a five star review. My sister and I returned last night to honor the passing of our father. The second you step food in the place, you are greeted with warm professionalism as though you are in someone's home. The restaurant, once a bakery, is so cool and inviting. The elegant and sparse tables are simply set with a precision rolled and folded crisp napkin. Noticing the grand mirrors that flank either side of the wall they match the heavily lacquered ceiling beams. From there, dinner is off and running. Opting for the chefs vegetarian meal, everything is delivered to perfection. The staff are prompt, warm and friendly, but never out of step. Long thing trays or brought to the table by a food runner, only to be set on the table by a perfectly suited server and followed with a small cup filled with broth or cream or sinfully delicious foam. Poetic food descriptions make your mouth water as you then dive in to discover these taste sensations. One plate looked like a warm river stone with an exquisite mushroom and chest dish I will not soon forget. Course after course is served. Exemplary mason plus service done for each course. The restaurant only has maybe a dozen tables, but as each guest is moving along it is entertaining to see which course is happening for their table. Ok, so this is it folks. The best meal of my life and for the second time!! The chef came out to greet us and we were even walked to the door when we were done. Could not get over how fun this place is, just wish I didn't have to take a nine hour plane ride to get here.

Wij hebben met vrienden gedineerd in deze voormalige bakkerij dat deel uitmaakt van The Dylan. Keurige ontvangst met mooie amuses gevolgd door een fantastisch diner met heerlijke wijn. Op het menu stond makreel, tarbot, morilles, langoustine, hun signature dish Anjou duif (al ‘eeuwen’) en als dessert bloedsinaasappel. De bediening is onberispelijk, maar ietwat afstandelijk. De akoestiek blijven wij niet fijn vinden.

Grande cucina, ottimo servizio di sala, in un ambiente molto curato con un recupero architettonico perfetto delle vecchie cucine. Tovagliato perfetto, così come i bicchieri e la posateria, una chicca i magnifici coltelli di Scarperia in Toscana. Lo chef’s menu è un percorso articolato dove la ricerca non tradisce mai il sapore di ogni singolo ingrediente. La wagyu e la langoustine si tutto. Il servizio di sala è molto attento, ma mai invasivo. Jason Hunt un perfetto “padrone di casa” e Natasja Noorlander ha fatto scelte perfette nel wine pairing. Compagni di un bel viaggio. Un posto dove ritornare con un po più di tempo.

I had the pleasure of dining at Vinkeles and it was the most special evening! The food was just spectacular and I was impressed with how everyone working in the restaurant was so willing and able to discuss the menu and wines, it really shows the shared passion of the whole team and pride in the product. Would definitely recommend Vinkeles as it was such an amazing and unique dining experience!

Enjoyed a dinner with 3 in restaurant Vinkeles, and all I can say is "wow!". Every dish, from the appetizers to the dessert was an amazing combination of flavours, that were only enhanced by the amazing wine pairings, that were so expertly and enthusiastically explained. Every staff member worked together seamlessly, which was just as wonderful to enjoy as the dishes. All with all an absolutely delightful evening out, and one of the best dining experiences I have enjoyed. Cannot recommend Restaurant Vinkeles enough, a must try, whether you are a local or visiting Amsterdam.

The environment of old bakery and boutique hotel combined from the entrance. It's definitely Michelin stars service, food, presentation. Taste is extremely sophisticated, service is flawless.

Experience a wonderful evening with fantastic gems of dishes, served by super hospitable staff. The choice of vegetarian menu was surprising and delicious. Our party enjoyed both menus with matching wine selection. And I don't like all wines and was allowed to taste them first. Great that this was possible.

I was particularly happy that they had a non-alcoholic mocktail pairings for each dish. The food was really inventive and unique (in a good way). The service is really friendly and makes you feel relax, even though this is a high dining place

I celebrated my friends birthday here. This is the first time I came after the last chef Denis left for Japan. The service was flawless. The food was delicious but slightly on the salty side for my liking but this could be very personal. Overall still very lovely and would still come all the time.

Excellent food experience in a cozy and private atmosphere! The service was impeccable. This restaurant deserves both of its michelin stars! I highly recommend the langoustine ( a l'americaine, lavender, nashi peer & chips )!

What I loved most was watching the top notch team work together to bring dishes to the table — truly professionals that enjoy their job. Everyone was sophisticated and friendly, fine dining without the air of arrogance. The wine pairings were fantastic. I’m usually not a wine person but figured it’d be a nice splurge on vacation. I was wow’s by the unique flavor profiles and textures from each glass. The food was spectacular, with a few fun off-menu surprises to start. I cannot recommend the anju pigeon enough! I’d love to return someday to try the vegetable menu!

Nice restaurant, pleasant and knowledgeable service, but unfortunately we have to be strict... is this sufficient for Michelin 2*? Amsterdam has several 2* restaurants...the competition is stiff, but even compared to France you may wonder whether this would be rated 2*. Of course it is in a 5* hotel....but that should not be an argument, rather a stick behind the door. It was nice, but it could be better.

Wonderful ambience and service. The entire team was helpful and very friendly. The food was wonderful with each dish being interesting and excellent. We were spoilt with an anniversary card and extra dessert.

Fantastic gastronomic dinner with friends. We opted for the full tasting menu which surpassed all our expectations. Beautifully balanced cuisine, very precise and complex flavors, top quality ingredients. Personal favorite was the European lobster. Incredible historic setting and service to match, friendly and genuine. Great selection of wines, will return without a doubt.
