Delicious food, nice people there and friendly

Don't order here! The pizza was much smaller than a standard-sized pizza, even though you pay the same amount. Also, the pizza was already lukewarm when it arrived, so it gets colder as you eat more... The meat from the platter and fries were so heavily seasoned that it wasn't tasty anymore. The bottle of drink wasn't very cold, just slightly above room temperature :( There was NO salami on the salami toastie, only cheese. By the way, this was a pita, not a real toastie. So I don't understand why you don't list it as pita cheese/pita salami on the site. Also, the products looked very different in the photos on the website (Thuisbezorgd), nothing like what we received (those photos were also AI-generated). My boyfriend even got a bit sick a day after eating the meat platter. Despite all these bad things, I'm only getting €7 back out of the around €30 I paid :(

A very beautiful and cozy place, the food was delicious, featuring all kinds of diverse cultures from the Middle East. Definitely recommended, we will certainly come back here again!

Ate here in 2022 and everything was good. Good experience and nice people. Ate there again today and the food and service were mediocre and pricey. I heard there is a different owner now. We had to wait a long time to order drinks and then it took an hour for the food to arrive. The ribeye was thin, dry, and overcooked, as was the tenderloin. Side dishes were just fries and a small bowl of salad. It was not comparable to how it was in 2022. In short Long wait, inexperienced staff, and expensive in relation to what you get.

After work, we still felt like eating somewhere in Heerenveen. Fortunately, Sultan was still open at midnight. We spoke with the owner, who took over eight months ago. A very friendly young man. Congratulations once again, and we enjoyed the food and the service. We will definitely be back!

I ordered a mixed grill, and everything on the plate was cooked exactly as it should be; the meats were delicious and juicy. The staff were also very welcoming. The restaurant is a Turkish restaurant, but the music playing was Greek, and the staff were Syrian. It was a lovely combination, thank you.

Unfortunately, not a good experience. The dishes all looked alike and didn't seem fresh. A lot of ready-made, deep-fried, and frozen food. Additionally, there was a very long wait for everything, and we had a table right next to the front door. It felt like we were sitting on chairs and a table meant for an outdoor terrace. The service was very friendly, but the food quality is really poor; even with the price of a Social Deal, I found it substandard! It's a real shame because we had good memories of the past, but their best days are definitely behind them.

From the outside it looks like a shawarma tent. Inside friendly personnel, delicious food. We did the unlimited tapas. You can order yourself, but we let the staff choose. Then the food just appeared. Well worth a visit.

Unfortunately, the food was of very poor quality. Of the tapas dishes, no fewer than three were simply cold upon arrival, which is truly unacceptable. The mixed grill was even more disappointing: completely tasteless and the meat did not seem fresh at all. It felt as if it had been sitting around for a while before being prepared. Additionally, the cuts of meat were not substantial, which made the whole experience even worse. All in all, a worthless experience and certainly not worth repeating.

Unlimited tapas through a social deal. As a surprise, the super friendly staff told us that the tapas were served in rounds (so you couldn't choose your own). We expected something different, but it was a positive surprise. I now tried things I wouldn't have ordered otherwise and was pleasantly surprised. There was something wrong with the food, and that was neatly resolved with a round of free drinks. The staff was very friendly and responsive. When the dishes arrived, they clearly explained what they were and what they contained. This was very helpful! Unfortunately, we went on a Tuesday and it was very quiet (there were two other tables next to us), so we can't say much about the atmosphere, but we can definitely see that when it's busier, there's definitely potential for more ambiance. The food was delicious. The meat was tender, and the ratio of meat to vegetables, etc., was perfect. We will definitely go again!

A very nice and cozy restaurant, and the food was truly fantastic! When ordering, a drink and dish were out of stock, but the very friendly host resolved this very well! The Ottoman mixed grill was delicious and plentiful, and the tapas were also delightful. Definitely recommended! The meat was cooked on the charcoal barbecue, and you can taste it—wonderfully tender!

The meal was excellent. We enjoyed the unlimited tapas through SocialDeal, which was very helpful. There was a wide variety of dishes. The owner showed great enthusiasm when serving, which significantly enhanced the experience.

Never order through Thuisbezorgd! They deliver half an order and don't even bring the missing part (or you have to call three times).

We had a wonderful meal in a welcoming atmosphere. The lemon could be a bit less, but that's a matter of taste. Highly recommended for the tapas dishes. Next time, I'll try the menu.

Waited long for the food. Grilled Chicken was raw, the kebab was sour, till the point I had to spit it out- (stale meat). The borek is with cheese only instead of cheese and spinach as stated in the menu card. We were here twice before, somehow the quality of the food has gone bad this time. Ain't coming back here again.

I recently visited De Sultan restaurant, and it was a truly disastrous experience. It started with the food: the meat was served raw, which poses a serious health risk. The hygiene in the restaurant was far from standard—dirty tables, an unpleasant smell, and a generally unkempt impression. The staff was anything but welcoming: rude, unfriendly, and completely unprofessional. When I tried to politely point something out, I was nearly snapped at. But the worst came later: I got food poisoning after my visit. This confirmed my feeling that the kitchen is completely unsafe and not clean. I would absolutely not recommend De Sultan to anyone. There are plenty of restaurants where you can eat well and safely, with decent service. This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for me. The Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority has also been notified! This company is also acting as a front! Forewarned is forearmed! So, go next door.

By far the worst "Turkish" restaurant I've ever been to. I sit on the terrace for ten minutes and no one comes. I have to get up and ask for menus. I order two mixed grills. A mixed grill is a plate full of meat at every restaurant I've ever been to. After all, you pay for it. Look at the picture. That one plate is supposed to be TWO mixed grills. That one plate costs €70. The fries I got with it were probably leftover fries that were fried again. I worked in hospitality for 10 years, I know what I'm talking about. This restaurant is for Dutch people who don't know the authentic taste of Turkish food. All Middle Easterners, stay away.

This is a cozy restaurant with excellent Greek-Turkish food. We had booked a Tapas All You Can Eat menu via a Social Deal. The welcome was very warm as was the service. All snacks were explained. After two cold rounds and two warm ones with köfte, houmous, fish etc. we were already quite full. It was a nice, delicious evening. We will definitely come back!

Ate at se sultan via social deal.. friendly and hospitable staff and delicious food. We couldn't choose ourselves, but different dishes were served in small bowls per round. Everything was presented attractively and you could eat as much as you wanted. The main dishes were our preference. But all in all it was nice to eat here with friends.

Unlimited tapas, you can't choose what you want to eat, some bread and vegetables are served, when you ask if there will be meat you get the answer that the grill is already off 🤔, unlimited?, or terribly sad for a lot of money

Received a gift to have dinner with the Sultan. All you can eat. Tapas We cashed in and were surprised. It was a surprise... It was really a failing grade. No choice in snacks. Bad products. Not tasty. I really can't recommend "All you can eat".

We hadden een Sultans Luxe Grill. De smaak was goed en er was enorm veel vlees en ook gevarieerd vlees van de grill. Ook de medewerkers waren enorm aardig.

Een warm en gastvrij welkom in dit restaurant. Prima service en een vriendelijke eigenaar. Van een proeverij van diverse gerechtjes genoten.

Fantastic meal! We came with our 1-year-old son, who, just like us, enjoyed all the dishes. We had tapas, and all dishes were very tasty. Super friendly staff, even towards the little ones. Absolutely recommended in Heerenveen.

Came here as a surprise and didn't know what to expect. Staff is super friendly, helpful and hospitable. Every tapa was delicious and always a surprise. Our 15-month-old son also enjoyed the small snacks that he was allowed to eat with us. Super restaurant, nice staff, recommended!!

Voor de inrichting hoef je niet naar dit restaurant te gaan, maar voor de gastvrijheid en niet alleen de kwaliteit maar ook de omvang van de gerechten des te meer. Daar zijn ze hier niet zuinig mee en daar kan menig restaurant een voorbeeld aan nemen.

Onlangs in Istanbul geweest. Daar heerlijk gegeten. Eens kijken of we dat “in de buurt” ook kunnen vinden onder het mom van ontdek de omgeving. Nee. Sorry. Het was lafjes. Niet op smaak. Flauw. Jammer. Voor ons niet meer. We willen smaken proeven. Het was zelfs de vraag of een van de niet toevallig jalapeno bevatte. Lijkt ons totaal geen Turks.

Heerlijk uitgebreid tapas gegeten (all you can eat); verschillende rondes koude en warme hapjes vers bereid en verrassend. Je hoeft zelf niets uit te zoeken; ze bieden voldoende variatie in de hapjes totdat je vol bent. De gastheer en bediening zijn erg hartelijk en zorgen voor een fijne en gezellige sfeer. Het restaurant is kleinschalig wat persoonlijk contact goed mogelijk maakt en met de Turkse en Griekse muziek ben je echt even een avondje uit. Aanrader!

De laatste jaren zijn we vaker bij dit restaurant geweest vanwege het lekkere eten en klantvriendelijke bediening. Maar dat was helaas anders toen we daar september 2024 kwamen. Het eten was nog steeds lekke (al was het hier en daar aangebrand), maar de bediening gaf ons vrijwel geen aandacht. Na het uitreiken van het hoofdgerecht kwamen ze niet meer langs en moest ik uiteindelijk de bediening wenken om nog wat friet bij te bestellen. Voor het opnieuw krijgen van de menukaart voor het toetje moest ik van mijn plaats af en naar de balie lopen. Toen de menukaart was gebracht waren we weer totaal uit beeld. Na meer dan een halfuur ben ik naar de balie gelopen om een dessert te bestellen. De kok vroeg of ik wilde afrekenen. Ik dacht?:"Waarom ook niet? IK ben er eigenlijk wel klaar mee". IK vroeg waar zijn twee collega's waren. De ene was beneden aan het afwassen, de andere was bezig een bestelling af te leveren. Jammer dat onze laatste ervaring slecht is. Als klant wil je wel serieus genomen worden.

Food was fine. Why such an assessment? Simple, bring your own drinks because you may have to wait a while (about an hour) before you can order something to drink. Is that worth such an assessment? Well no. Well, after indicating that we felt we had forgotten something, it just happened again. A sorry without the sincere, too bad.

A nice new experience for once, but in my opinion certainly not worth repeating. You will be served all kinds of different small snacks in a number of rounds. Apparently it is not possible to choose. If you announce in advance that one of the guests has a nut allergy, dishes containing walnuts will still be served during the dinner. Furthermore, this restaurant is not really accessible for people with disabilities because the toilets are in the basement, which is only accessible via a spiral staircase. At the end of the meal I felt unwell, probably the food went wrong for me. This food has made me pretty bad and I'm still not feeling well.

We had a delicious meal, even though we had a gluten and cow's milk allergy, which we reported in advance when booking. The chef indicated that he would put together our dishes himself and adapt them where possible. We thoroughly enjoyed the Mix tapas. Nicely varied and delicious flavors. Highly recommended!

Delicious food. Very good tapas. Nice atmosphere and decoration. The only point to note is that it takes a very long time between tapas courses, in our case even when the place is almost empty.

Didn't make a reservation, but we were able to go. Mixed tapas as a starter was already delicious. Then we ate a mixed grill, which was really delicious...nice and tender and certainly well seasoned. Friendly staff and a very nice chef/owner. We will definitely come back here again.

Delicious and very extensive food. A tapas "all-you-can-eat" and that was literally it. If we hadn't indicated that we were full, we could have eaten even more. And the tapas were very varied, with (very) tasty snacks for everyone. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very pleasant, beautifully decorated, cozy and you can easily imagine yourself in Istanbul (except for the weather). Very friendly, attentive and fast service.

What a delicious meal we had. We ended up here through social deals. I am a fussy eater and when I heard that we would not be choosing the dishes ourselves I started to sweat for a bit, but of all the dishes (18 pieces) there was only 1 that I did not have. Incredibly delicious food, an owner with a nice sense of humor and the food is all prepared by hand!

Was daar geweest en lekker genoten van bbq en tapas, mij favoriet was Black Angus Ossenhaas en van Tapas Havuc Tarator, ze waren ook heel erg vriendelijk

Het viel jammer genoeg tegen. De aardappels van de moussaka waren niet gaar en niet zo smakelijk. Bij de mixed gril zit standaard 1 vingerhoedje champignonsaus en op de vraag of ze knoflooksaus werd heel raar gereageerd alsof om iets raars vroeg en het antwoord was nee natuurlijk hebben we dat niet. Dus hadden we 1 vingerhoedje saus voor 2 man. Alles was echt minimaal bemeten behalve de rekening die was royaal.

Vanavond via “het laatste tafeltje” geboekt bij “De Sultan”. Vriendelijke bediening door Eyup en zijn vader. Onbeperkt tapas gegeten , waarbij elke ronde een verrassing was nadat we onze voorkeuren hadden aangegeven! Echt heerlijk gegeten. Aanbevolen!

Via social deal onbeperkt tapas gegeten. Het is niet ons ding. Je moet heel veel geduld hebben, je krijgt een paar happen en dan moet je weer een half uur wachten voor weer een paar happen, na 3 uren vonden we het wel mooi geweest. Als je veel trek hebt en weinig geduld zou ik onbeperkt tapas niet aanraden. Ook nog glas bier door een onhandige actie van een serveerder over de tafel en over mij heen gekregen, was zeiknat en we hadden pas 1 gang gehad, vervelend, kan gebeuren, werd wel verontschuldig aangeboden maar geen compensatie aangeboden, moesten we zelf om vragen, heb de laatste 2 biertjes niet betaald

Tapas gegeten met de social deal. Deels lekker gegeten.. Van te voren aangegeven dat we geen paprika wilden. Helaas was er één hele ronde, het hoofdgerecht, waarbij alle gerechten paprika hadden. Dat was erg jammer en matig. Daardoor gaan we er niet meer naar toe en zullen niet snel anderen aanraden daar te gaan eten. Pluspunt: vriendelijke bediening en eigenaar

Wij hebben heerlijk gegeten met social deal actie, we hebben meerdere rondes gekregen en hebben zelfs een ronde afgewezen omdat wij al vol zaten. Er wordt aangegeven onbeperkt tapas eten, er wordt voor je bepaalt wat je krijgt, wat voor ons helemaal prima was. Ze vragen netjes of je iets niet lust en wat je graag zou willen proberen.

Het eten was op zich prima en de medewerkers waren erg vriendelijk. Maar het duurde allemaal heel erg lang en het was vooral heel veel vlees en erg weinig groente.

Ga er niet naar toe met een social deal. Onbeperkt Tapas is hier echt niet onbeperkt en zeker niet gevarieerd. Bijna geen vlees, behalve paar stukjes kipfilet en droge garnalen. Dikke onvoldoende voor de tapas. Maar als je er vlees van de kaart bestelt, dan proef je echt heerlijk op kooltjes perfect gegaard vlees. Helaas zaten wij er met een social deal...
