We had a delicious meal, the service was friendly and enthusiastic, and once again, the food was excellent. We'll be back soon.

We had a wonderful meal with an Indian friend of mine. He knows exactly how everything tastes, and he, like me, was very pleased with it. The service was also very friendly!

They serve moist rolls on newspaper. But with all the Indian spices, you can barely tell the difference between the bread and the paper. Very mediocre. But the service is very friendly, helpful, and fast!

Glorious food, perfect for a cosy time despite damp evening in the mists. The staff were lovely in a non-overbearing manner and served a succession of perfectly realised dished. Views of the Dom tower and lights playing off the canal reflections made it beautiful

Last night we had an incredible evening at India Port! From the moment we stepped through the door, we knew we were in for a treat. This family-run restaurant, located right on the edge of a canal, offers not only a beautiful setting but also truly exceptional food. We ordered the chef’s plate India Thali, (chicken version) — a delicious variety of flavors that had our tastebuds dancing. The service was just as impressive. A special shout-out to Victoria for her attentive and thoughtful care throughout the evening. The owner also stopped by our table to personally check in, which made us feel especially welcome and appreciated. If you’re in Utrecht, we highly recommend visiting India Port. You won’t be disappointed!

To be honest, I was having super high expectations because I was a loyal customer to the Ouderkerk location and I was expecting the same quality. I came all the way here because the one in Ouderkerk was closed and the flavor was not as good unfortunately. The butter chicken tasted like tomato soup, super sweet. The samosas were also not very tasty. It’s really sad that my favorite Indian restaurant is gone. Hopefully you decide to open again in Ouderkerk.

We have been here three months ago and been busy to share about the experience. My husband and I were so amazed with everything here - food 🥘, atmosphere, friendly staffs and surprisingly even the chef 🧑‍🍳 recommended what to choose. Really appreciated. Food presentation is top 👍👍👍 plus the perfect meal of Indian cuisine.

The waiter was very warm and friendly. He listened to my needs and made spicy butter chicken for me. I am really grateful. The scenery by the river is beautiful. It is an ideal place to dine with friends on the weekend.

Very nice food, a bit overpriced and sucks you have to pay for tap water otherwise 5 starts

The food tastes good, but they're too stingy with the rice. At other Indian restaurants, you get a full portion of rice with each dish, but here we only got a small plate of rice for two dishes.

The food and the view are great, but the prices are a bit on the high side. They also charge almost 4 EUR for tap water, which I've never seen in the Netherlands.

We went to India Port on a week day evening with a group of indian colleagues. The wait staff was very accommodating, helping us have a table near the water for 6 without a reservation. The food was good and well seasoned, ranks on my top 3 indian restaurants in NL. Our indian colleagues agreed it was authentic and we had a great time together. I would 100% come back when I visit Utrecht again. From the picture you can see that it was good, there was nothing left 😅

Super nice atmosphere and service

Great food and staff, we really enjoyed the tikka masala, fish and lamb briani. Honestly the food was really good, good view on the canal and service was excellent. Its probably a bit pricy but i would recommend it.

Wanted to order something and was completely ignored

This was our first time at this restaurant. We had Chicken Madras, vegetarian vegetables with Indian cheese, and garlic naan. Everything was delicious, the Madras spicy 🌶️ as it should be. The service was also very attentive 👍🏻 We definitely recommend it.

A bit more on the expensive side as expected due to the location but I think this is worth it. This has some good vegan options and the dishes are well seasoned. (Quite spicy if youre intolerant like us) The waitress felt a bit rushed but we felt treated nicely and enjoyed the experience.

Worst restaurant ever food was smelling and it was all frozen even they did not care to fry and make it hot properly before serving my paneer was half dozen from inside I was really mad worst experience not recommended at all.

Food is decent, but expensive. And the service is too slow. I waited so long for my food. And the worst part is waiters don’t listen or look towards you. It got annoying to be honest. Do consider this before going.

Long wait for the food, very small portions, and rude staff. But the food was really good.

With the wrap you get a very small piece of junk for 8.50 euros which also doesn't contain any chicken while they said it was in there and the service is also really bad. This is really not recommended, definitely don't come here

Really didn't like it here. Food was expensive, and not good. When I ask for not too spicy and they say it's a bit spicy then you expect that it is like that. Well no. My mouth was burning and I don't like that cause it ruins my food. Staff was unintrested and only spoke English which I hate in my own country. All the tables are wobbly, which is a shame cause the location is very nice. Can't recommend this. I have had way better Indian food for less money.

Well, despite the six euro discount we eventually got: this really wasn't that great. Anyway: I think staff that doesn't speak Dutch is really bad. You really don't need to know Dutch fluently, but a basic knowledge seems like the least you need. The naan bread: at 5 euros, it was screamingly expensive for the little bit you get. My girlfriend had the chicken biryani - according to the staff this was the least spicy but she had to leave it for the most part: I like spicy food but I could understand what she meant. My tandoori vegetables: it wasn't much, it was tasteless and some pieces were unhealthily charred. I mainly ate a lot of rice, at 23 euros. By the way, my dish - and I do like spicy food - couldn't be made spicier because it was pre-made. Oh well. By the way: what are (very expensive) bitterballen doing on the menu of an Indian restaurant? And what also struck me; if a table is so unstable that your food has a big chance of falling into the canal, either just remove the table or make sure your guests can eat there. Very bad. Waste of money, from now on to the pancake house further down the road.

The food is very tasty, the vindaloo is authentically spicy! The tandoori paneer was also highly recommended. The portion sizes are sufficient. The price is a little higher. The location on the canal is very idyllic. Only the service could be improved (the service outside wasn't that frequent).

Als hoofdgerecht Seekh kebab besteld. Helaas, de smaken van India waren nergens terug te vinden. De Indiase keuken staat bekend om het gebruik van vele specerijen en kruiden. Mijn tafelgenoot zei hetzelfde als ik: "als ze hadden gezegd dat het Turks was geweest, had ik het zo geloofd." Jammer, is zo veel meer van te maken.

Delicious spicy chicken from the tandoori oven (it was really spicy), highly recommended if you like spicy. Then the vindaloo, despite the spicyness of the vindaloo, as expected, the other flavors such as the lamb came into their own very well. The garlic naan was also generously decorated with its namesake (garlic). In two words, a delicious meal.

Wow, nice food! The chicken tikka masala was divine, a perfect blend to the recommended wine. My husband loved the butter chicken, too good! Ashish our server had some great recommendations. He was so welcoming, we really felt at home. A perfect experience — we’re looking forward to coming back!

This restaurant has everything you are looking for and more! The perfect place for a cozy or romantic dinner. Desi Dutch night out.. good service and good food guaranteed. And to be honest, it is usually busy here, so reservations are recommended. But despite being busy, Mr Happy Singh is a great host! Thank you for the delicious food and top service. Was here last Saturday for a 2 course lunch via Social Deal. I waited more than 40 minutes for someone to come get a drink and then had to wait a very long time for the food. Only 2 staff members on a full terrace and they both speak almost no Dutch or English. After 1.5 hours a bland lentil soup arrived, without bread or contents. After another 30 minutes we received a butter chicken bowl with 3 pieces of chicken and a watery sauce that tasted mainly like tomato paste. The 2 cappuccinos for which we had to pay €8.50 were small and cold. It was that payment had already been made via Social Deal, otherwise we, like many others, would have walked away long ago. Very unfortunate, the promising reviews had given us a completely different picture.

I did't know that Indian food can be cooked so tasteless and unoriginal.

I visited Restaurant India Port during my work trip, and the quality of food is second to none. It offers truly authentic Indian cuisine. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the customer service is excellent. The restaurant is centrally located and easy to find. If you're in the area, visiting this restaurant is a must—I highly recommend it!

We ate here on our 1st date in February 2024. Then a super fun evening, delicious food and still happy together. This year, February 2025, we celebrated one year of being together. Of course we went out to eat at India Port again! The food is a 10! And the service and atmosphere too! Anyway, see you next year! ;-) :-D

We went to try new tastes. We had the meal consisting of butter chicken, garlic bread and mixed cooked meats. The flavors were very good, we liked them, but the prices were a bit expensive and they did not satisfy us at all, so I deducted one point. Portions could be more filling. The atmosphere and location are very nice. Summers will be more enjoyable.

Currently in hospital due to my spice intolerance! I did enjoy every second of the pain! The people working here were my friends in the moment. The madras was like a mountain hard to climb but inevitable to reach the top! I recommend the lamb. It’s just amazing oh yeah 2/3 wines for the wife! And for me 2 big bottles of cobra! Makes me he weest wel all the way from leeuwarden

Vorige keren heel leuk gegeten maar helaas is de sfeer veranderd. Wij vonden dat er te zien was dat de baas niet op een prettige manier het personeel aansprak en dit doet het restaurant niet goed. Om lekker te eten is nog belangrijker dat de sfeer fijn is en mensen goed behandeld worden, wij komen niet meer.
