We were a group of four people and enjoyed all the dishes - chicken parda biryani, chicken thaali, paneer butter masala, garlic naan, and Indian tea. I liked the "flavours" and not just the spice, which was really good. I can recommend this place to my friends in NL and US.

Best Indian Food in the City with amazing food, view and service. The chef Vijay Rawat is really skilled and very respectful person. Ordered Parda Chicken Biryani and it was full of authentic Indian biryani flavor and nicely cooked. The dessert - rice pudding (kheer) was tasty as well. Will visit again whenever traveling back to Utretch Netherlands

Delicious Indian cuisine. The mango lassi is excellent. There are tables right on the riverbank. Nice atmosphere. I only don't recommend the saag paneer—it was bland and lacked spice.

We had a delicious meal. We had the tandoori mix grill, which is quite spicy. The butter chicken was a nice contrast. The interior of the restaurant is quite basic. The service is friendly.

Awesome food!! Chef Vijay is not just what he calls himself humbly; for want of a better word, he is a magician. Couldn’t believe one of the chef specials was the Bagara Baingan. It was marvellously done. That, for me was great confidence building. Glad we ordered their best, eventually we all ended up over-eating to great satisfaction. Vijay bhula, bahut bahut abhaar!!

A wonderfully nice restaurant. We sat by the canal in the beautiful weather. The atmosphere is truly amazing. They really put a lot of effort into customer friendliness, and that feels good. Our host Vee was a lovely person around our table. The food was exquisite. Very flavorful and surprising, even for those who prefer not to eat meat.

The food was amazing, the servers were very gentle and the location makes it even better. We even met two of the Chefs and they took the time to talk to us. I would definitely come here again.

One of my most favourite restaurant in Netherlands Utrecht specially since I am vegetarian to meet my indian taste buds. While I had veg my friends said they also serve amazing non veg and drinks too. Special thanks for Vinayak & Heer .. both are amazing team player and coz of them we visited even the second time. The restaurant is on the water canal which is extremely peaceful and you can enjoy the vibe and amazing food.

We ordered 4 vegetarian thalis and 2 chicken thalis. Everything was very delicious and perfect spice level. Loved sitting right next to the river Vecht. Such beautiful surroundings and then delicious food on the table.

Got a social deal, it was excellent and the food was delicious. The hostess explained everything well. With the Spicy Chicken she wished me good luck 😂 😂 it turned out to be very spicy and it certainly was, but very tasty. Everything was well taken care of, nice lady the hostess. Because our performance of the musical Moulin Rouge had been cancelled, but train tickets could no longer be cancelled, we decided to travel from Zoetermeer to Utrecht anyway to visit the museum and the city center, and then have dinner on the canal. Since there aren't many Indian restaurants in our region, we decided to do so in Utrecht at India Port. We descended to the terrace by the canal around 6 pm, but it was already almost full. There was a pleasant atmosphere, but due to the outside temperature, my wife preferred to eat inside the restaurant. That was possible without any problems, as there was still room. Contrary to other old reviews, we were greeted warmly, and during a brief conversation, it turned out the restaurant had been there for 40 years. A good sign, and although we eat Indian food often, usually curry dishes, we wanted something different for a change. There were a few specials on the menu, and we received excellent clarification from a jovial and exuberant waiter (probably the owner, we suspect), after which we decided to order the India Port Thaali from the menu (37.50 euros/ most expensive/ lamb/ chicken/ includes dessert), which was presented on one large tray in separate small bowls with Naan, papadum, and the dessert. There were quite spicy dishes, but they were easily balanced out by the rasta and the slightly sweet but delicious dessert. (Tip: ask about the spiciness of dishes beforehand, especially if you don't like things too spicy.) So, it is not a three-course menu but an all-in-one presentation in a number of small bowls, though served nice and hot. See the photo for an impression. For us (two sixty-somethings), it was large enough as a meal, with a fixed dessert choice. From inside, we could still see a bit of the canal, and the restaurant is situated in a (smaller) vaulted cellar overlooking the canal. That is part of the charm of restaurants along the canal, though it is slightly less cozy than outside. You do look out onto an open kitchen (which I personally consider a plus; nothing is hidden, and I feel the activity contributes to the atmosphere). Furthermore, the decor is somewhat simple but effective. We will definitely be back! P.S. There is also an Indian restaurant across the street, but their terrace was much less busy, and the menu selection seemed smaller, so partly due to the full terrace at India Port, we made the aforementioned choice(s).

The menu is short at lunchtime (until 4 pm), but if you're vegetarian, I recommend the samosas with pan-fried chickpeas and a variety of sauces, including mint 😊 The prices are excellent (be mindful of the drinks) and the waterfront location is fantastic. People passing by in boats chat with the customers.

Everything perfect! It was our first time at the restaurant, and we loved every single thing! I had a chicken biryani and my boyfriend had a chicken tikka masala, and a garlic cheese nan. And we enjoyed every bite of it! And the dessert… oh my godddd was delicious! We had the kulfi, which is a handmade pistachio ice cream. It was marvelous! The owner and the attendant were very kind and explained the dishes very well! We are definitely coming back to try more dishes!

I recently visited this restaurant and had a mixed experience. The location is absolutely beautiful, and the view is definitely the best part of the visit. It’s a lovely place to sit, relax, and enjoy the surroundings. The food was decent, but nothing particularly memorable. I specifically asked for Indian-style spicy food, but instead of adjusting the spices while cooking, it seemed like they simply sprinkled extra chili powder on top, which made the dish overly spicy without improving the overall flavor. I also felt that some artificial food coloring might have been used, which affected the appearance of the food. Overall, the food was just okay—not bad, but it could definitely be improved in terms of authenticity and preparation. However, the amazing location and beautiful view make it worth visiting at least once, especially if you’re looking for a nice atmosphere. I hope they work on improving the food quality because the place itself has great potential.

We have been coming to Interport for many years, and it has never disappointed us. It truly is one of the best Indian restaurants, where traditional culture meets thoughtful fusion. Every dish is full of authentic flavour — even when you order mild, the spices still shine through exactly as they should. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. The location by the river is beautiful, and the atmosphere is always welcoming and full of warmth. It’s a wonderful spot that consistently leaves us happy and satisfied

I love Indian food. They have the best Lamb Vindaloo that I have ever had. Service is amazing and, if you reserve early enough, sitting out on the canal just adds that special little extra.

Nice atmosphere, we where sitting outside at something like 14:00 and had a small lunch and a bear and a cassis. The food was good although we had a simple meal. The price is fair for what quality you get. Food takes long to arrive but that is mainly due to the number of people outside.

Horrible experience, bad service waited 30 minutes before we could order, then another 1h before we got the food. Chicken salad was absolutely disgusting, cooked/white chicken with chili sauce. Waitress was not particularly friendly. Nice view over the canals though

Mediocre. The staff were English-speaking, and instead of a welcome, we heard a lot of rules. Everything was a bit meager. Maybe because we had a Social Deal. Soup without a bread roll. Main course without extra vegetables. Dessert was 1 small scoop of ice cream with a small dollop of whipped cream. For our daughter, we had asked for it not spicy, but it was spicy anyway (main course). We found it mediocre. The service, in particular, was not very friendly. It was as if we were supposed to be happy that we were allowed to sit there, rather than receiving a warm welcome.

I recently visited India Port Restaurant in Utrecht and had a wonderful experience. It was my very first time trying butter chicken in the Netherlands, and it truly exceeded my expectations. The butter chicken paired with perfectly cooked basmati steamed rice was absolutely delicious. My friend ordered the veg thali along with a mango lassi, and both were equally satisfying and flavorful. The meal was wholesome, authentic, and very filling. The hospitality was warm and welcoming. Mr. Happy Singh, the owner, along with his staff, made us feel comfortable and well taken care of. The service was quick, attentive, and very kind. Overall, it was a value-for-money experience with great food and excellent service. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic Indian flavors in Utrecht. The food was delicious! We had the chef's specials, a delicious curry, and a nice spicy dish. It was quite busy when we were there, but when we told them we had a concert to attend, they went the extra mile. The service was cheerful. What more could you ask for?

One of the worst dining experiences I’ve had. The restaurant was clearly short‑staffed, and all the tables for two were placed right next to the kitchen. All we could hear were loud utensil noises and smell strong spices the entire time. There were plenty of better seats available on the other side, but that section was closed due to lack of staff. We ended up leaving without even ordering. Highly not recommended if you’re looking to enjoy your time out.
