Ordered for 7 o'clock, it's now 8 o'clock and they're not answering after the first call. If I don't have my food in 50 minutes I'm going to have to give it away and eat a sandwich or something, so 🙏🏼 I guess I'll just have it. I'm sure they have tasty food ❤️

Absolutely appalling — avoid at all costs One of the worst takeaway experiences I’ve ever had. We were staying at a hotel in Amsterdam with our young daughter and had very limited food options, so we found Restaurant Mesken on http://Thuisbezorgd.nl. The restaurant was advertising an estimated delivery time of 10–20 minutes, so we placed our order at around 8:00pm. The food eventually arrived at approximately 9:45pm — almost two hours later. We called the restaurant multiple times during the wait and were repeatedly told that the driver was “10 minutes away” and that it was simply a busy night. I completely understand that restaurants can get busy. What I don’t understand is advertising 10–20 minute delivery when you clearly cannot come anywhere close to that. If the restaurant is overwhelmed, update the delivery time or stop accepting orders. Advertising 10–20 minutes and then taking almost two hours is simply misleading and unacceptable. Unfortunately, the wait would have been somewhat easier to tolerate if the food had actually been edible. It wasn’t. The chips were cold and soggy, the lamb was dry, chewy and unpleasant, and the wrap was absolutely disgusting. The entire order ended up being thrown in the bin. So, to summarise: extremely late delivery, misleading delivery times, dreadful food and abysmal customer service. There was no meaningful attempt to resolve the situation when we called, just repeated assurances that it was “10 minutes away.” I have no idea how this restaurant is operating with this level of service. Based on our experience, I would avoid Restaurant Mesken at all costs. http://Thuisbezorgd.nl should seriously reconsider allowing restaurants to advertise delivery times that are so wildly inaccurate. An absolutely terrible experience from start to finish.

Unfortunately, the experience was very bad. I ordered mixed grill; the meat was tough and undercooked, and the rice was mushy and just plain boiled. Even the presentation of the dish was unappetizing.

Worst kapsalon chicken ever, no taste, no salt, and those chicken wings were raw.

Don't eat from the open buffet. I had food poisoning..... I'm knocked out on the couch. Really terrible!

Ordered via Thuisbezorgd. Didn't notice that I had chosen pickup instead of delivery. Called the restaurant, and they delivered the food without any problems to the rehabilitation center in East where my mother was staying and for whom the food was intended. Mom and my sister were also surprised; the food was delicious! Top-notch staff, and above all, delicious food! Ardanakebab is highly recommended!

We had a very positive experience at Restaurant Mesken! We had a reservation for 6:00 PM and were able to enjoy the buffet, which was truly delicious. The staff were also very helpful and friendly. We were also offered a bottle of water and dates, which was very thoughtful. This is definitely recommended if you're looking for an affordable, delicious buffet. We'll definitely be back! ◡̈

Shawarma meat is inedible there. It's so finely chopped that you can't even tell what you're eating. It looks like ground beef, and the quality of the meat is so cheap. I find a lot of fat and small bones. It's also expensive for the quality you get. I used to go here so often, but now I never go back compared to other shawarma places like (Pera in the west) (Hayran in the south) it really doesn't come close. INVEST IN GOOD MEAT WITH YOUR CHEAP GRANULES OF MEAT!!

We ate here, and it was the last time... It was incredibly poor: €13.50 for half a measly pita bread! Kapsalon literally comes in a soup bowl—terrible, and I don't even want to mention the fries because you can count them on one hand. If you want to get ripped off, go to Mesken. Ugh.

Nice place to have a quick bite

Highly recommend this Turkish restaurant for Halal Food in Amsterdam. The food was super delicious and the service is quick. The restaurant is small but easy to access through public transportation. The only thing that bothered us is that the menu was not in English though the waiter helped in translation. We ordered donor kebab and chicken shish both were fresh and well seasoned. I will definitely come again in the future. I will definitely visit again.

We came from Batman for our Erasmus project. Many thanks to the owner and staff for their friendliness and hospitality 💐 The food was fantastic. And the atmosphere is simply amazing. Thank you for everything. I will definitely visit again on my next trip.

I find the shawarma and soups here delicious

Today we ate here for the first (and last) time with our family of four. We were looking forward to it, but what a disappointment. I ordered a large falafel sandwich and, to my surprise, received half a pita bread with a whopping five falafel balls. The rest of the sandwich was filled with a mountain of lettuce, and there was a pitiful handful of fries on the plate. We also asked for extra sauce—twice, in fact—but that seemed to fall on deaf ears. As if that weren't enough, there was a party going on in the background. Not a problem in itself, if there had been a door between them. But alas: during our meal, we were treated to loud screams and laughter from a group of partying women. Not exactly the peaceful dining experience you'd hope for. All in all, a lousy experience. Poor value for money, a messy atmosphere, and clearly no attention to the customer. We will definitely never be back.

I've been coming here for 10 years, and I can say I haven't had such a delicious shawarma sandwich anywhere else in Amsterdam. Everything is fresh, and I don't have any stomach issues after eating it. 👍 The atmosphere in the restaurant is relaxed, and the service is excellent. It's kind to kids, and family-friendly.

We used to think this was a great restaurant, but today... Unfortunately, the service was very poor. We ordered soup, but no spoons were provided. The waiter brought them, but it turned out they had already been used and still had food residue on them. After reporting this, we apologized and replaced them (I felt sick and wanted to leave immediately, but thought, oh well, give it a try). One of our orders hadn't even been placed. It wasn't prepared until half of us had finished eating. We ordered tea, but no sugar. A few more issues. Too bad. This was the last time we ate here. Not for us again.

Open till late, original shoarma place.

We had the buffet today, and we're very disappointed. As vegetarians, there were no warm options available at all. Even the noodles had chicken in them. The dessert were gone and not replenished before we could have some. When we mentioned we did get some extra baklava which was nice, but still, we basically we paid 22,50 for some salads.

I came to pick up a shawarma sandwich, and a fries without €18 sandwich on the menu was 9.95 and when I said this to the gentleman he told me that it costs €4 to eat here. The sandwich was very thinly filled and the fries were cold. When I said this, he became very angry. You should not come here!!!!!!

Ik had een hele nare ervaring en zelfs kwetsend. De eigenaar, de korte mollige kale man met een baard roddelt over klanten met vieze ouwde vrienden van 65+. Hij zit met de heren aan tafel (niet te werken) hij werkt vaak minimaal laat zn personeel altijd alles doen. Hij vertelt hele verhalen aan onbekende mannen en vervolgens wordt je de hele tijd scheef aangekeken en nog eens uitgedaagd als ze weggaan. Roddelen doet hij vaker. Terbiyesiz!

I have been coming to Mesken for years, because of its central location and friendly staff. The owner always welcomes you with a smile and the staff does their best to help you as best as possible. On the other hand, I am no longer happy with the food. It is noticeable that the quality of the food has deteriorated sharply: it is no longer what it was and in my experience has even deteriorated. The food is simply no longer tasty and not that special. Too bad.

We had reserved a room for 20 people. The communication in advance was very clear and flexible. We were allowed to bring our own cake and decorations to decorate the room. The food was served faster than expected! At most restaurants you have to wait much longer for an order for 20 people. We also all got our food at the same time. The food was delicious! We came from Germany looking for a Turkish restaurant. In my opinion the best restaurant you can find in Amsterdam. Great restaurant, delicious food. Open buffet on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 6 p.m., highly recommended.

Food Service is great, but the information on the website is not correct in terms of opening hours. I have often relied on opening hours on the website, and have already gone twice for breakfast when I arrive and there is no breakfast, they are still cleaning. Very unfortunate, but mesking is off my list!

Terrible place! You enter and you are immediately surprised with a completely different price. Open buffet was disappointing. It was said that there are about 25 dishes, however there are 10 dishes incl. salads. So it really wasn't worth 35 euros. Was the first time and never again!

I tried the buffet on weekend with friends. The food wasn't tasty and had limited options. Taste wasn't great. It wasn't worth the money we paid per head.

For me one of the best, if not the best Turkish restaurants in Amsterdam. Been coming there for years, highly recommended.

Yesterday I ordered 3 large shawarma sandwiches and 1 chicken fillet sandwich to take with me! The menu says 13.50 including fries. I wanted to pick up, is it suddenly more expensive than the menu? 14.50 Normally pick up is the cheapest.. very vague and strange. Sandwiches have also become much more expensive, the large sandwich is now the small sandwich of the past! That sandwich was 5 or 6 euros and now it costs 10 euros! For a large sandwich you get 1 cup of garlic sauce that contains less than a small layer. Seemed like a used container so little I wanted lettuce separately because otherwise it would get soggy on the way, I had to pay 1.50 extra for the bowl... how dare you! As if it wasn't expensive enough already I think it's a money grab and rip-off Mesken has deteriorated and will never order from here again.

Den tyrkiske Restaurant Mesken bidrager stort til en fornem madoplevelse. Min veninde og jeg snublede over stedet i Amsterdam, og det var med stort held! Her er personalet så hjælpsomt, varmt, og gavmildt, og store portioner er der mange af. Maden var udsøgt. Jeg fik en kyllingewrap, som jeg ikke engang kunne spise op - hvilket ærgede mig, da det smagte rigtig lækkert. Her er der i hvert fald garanti for at blive dejligt mæt. Indretningen er også virkelig flot, og man lægger helt sikkert mærke til den. Her var rigtig afslappende. Det eneste utilfredsstillende, var sofabænken som jeg sank en lille smule for meget ned i. Udover vil jeg klart anbefale Restaurant Mesken for en bid traditionel tyrkisk (eller ikke) god mad!
