We were too early because of the rain, didn't feel very welcome (were there at 17:00, were told that they would open at 18:00 and could not do much for us until then), were allowed to sit down but preferred to walk a bit more. Also when we returned (17:45) we didn't feel very welcome... A nice restaurant with good food but for what you get quite expensive and not quite in proportion.

A pleasant occasion in a beautiful place. We were warmly welcomed by the hostess who had a nice chat with everyone. The food was delicious. The price for 2 people for starter, main course and dessert plus 2 glasses of wine and coffee is on the high side.

Delicious food in this cozy restaurant. The service was great and the food excellent. Excellent choice of whiskey, but that's my personal preference😊. I saw that there were plenty of wines, so there was plenty of choice for wine lovers. We had the surprise menu and it was delicious. Other guests at the table ate halibut (sublime) or tournedos (great). The desserts were also delicious. Are you on Ameland? Take the time to go here and be surprised.

I was able to spend a lovely evening in the 'KoaikersHuus' restaurant today. The table reservation in advance via the homepage went smoothly. I was greeted and served by a very friendly and always attentive lady from the service department. You can see what I ate in the pictures. I was very impressed with the quality and preparation of the food and everything tasted really wonderful. A rather inconspicuous side dish was also impressive - the homemade rhubarb compote. The atmosphere is really very cozy and you really feel at home from the first moment. The price/performance ratio is really reasonable. I would be happy to come back on my next visit to Ameland and can also recommend a visit to other visitors. The question as to why I didn't give the full number of stars: "Exceptionally good" is always a final rating and takes away the opportunity to be even more enthusiastic on the next visit 😉

Apparently a Burgundian and attractive restaurant. During a walk we were surprised by a heavy shower in the adjacent dunes. We were happy to have somewhere to warm up and have a drink. An employee (behaved like the owner (?)) was not very hospitable and was mainly concerned with selling expensive art. We therefore did not feel very welcome as walkers. Fortunately, the emergency services were friendlier.

This is the place I go to first when I get off the boat. This has been my spot for ten years and I have been coming to the island for 45 years. The different types of coffee, the delicious pastries (apple cranberry is highly recommended), the lunch, whatever you choose, it tastes great. Add to that the unique location, the always friendly staff and you have a recipe for an unforgettable time!

We have always been here as regular guests. However, when we were greeted today with a sleeping child in the trailer, which we had often had with us in the restaurant, with the words that we had to get out and that it was not your problem that the child was sleeping in it, it was clear to us that unfortunately that was what we were here for were last time. It's a shame but you just can't beat the saying in terms of friendliness.

Recently came by with family to eat pancakes. That turned out to be expensive, so I had to ask for the bill, which had already been paid. This was only printed when the payment slip was printed. We were charged €2.00 for a jug of tap water and €1.50 for an extra plate to share pancakes. I asked several people what they thought about it and it was perceived as a money grab and certainly not a service. I experienced that too.

Not good. You have your first exhibition as an artist here. All well and good. Until the great unknown "expert" comes and tells us what is wrong. And then also, when you write a review about it, you call it heartless and peevish...

We had a very nice 12-hour meal, a bit pricey, but the nice terrace and the nice weather made up for a lot

Very good restaurant. Fresh ingredients. Original dishes. We had a surprise menu with wine accompaniment. The menu consisted of warm goat cheese with figs, duck breast in cranberry sauce with roasted potatoes, pointed cabbage and rhubarb. For dessert there was a tart with forest fruit sauce. Very harmonious cuisine. Very good wines with great aromas. Very cozy atmosphere with lots of local art in a picturesque setting. Highly recommended. A good price/performance ratio.

Nice restaurant, but high prices compared to the quality.

Had a delicious soup and then had a nice drink. Super friendly lady who serves you. Toilets are neat What spoiled the fun a bit for us was the, I think, owner. People next to us were having lunch and had apparently also made reservations for dinner first. Apparently they had to cancel this due to personal circumstances. The owner(?) raged at the couple about this for 5 minutes. That they could have thought of that a little earlier and should also have thought about the restaurant staff. That this is very annoying for them and that they still had to pay reservation costs. We had vicarious shame for the owner. How dare you. They tried to explain that there really is no other way and that due to private circumstances a few boats had to go home early. But no, she didn't need an explanation. It is understandable that a cancellation is also annoying for the restaurant. But it seems to me that in these circumstances you can also say "oh, how annoying. Enjoy the rest of your day here". And since ma'am. I also stated very clearly that she has a long waiting list, so it doesn't seem to be a problem at all. It was around 12.30 that we were seated again. 1 call there your waiting list and it is solved EDIT: We have indeed not received the previous story. However, the conversation we heard was in the middle of the restaurant. So regardless of what came before this, this is how it came across to us and the vibe you left behind. And what was said in the presence of other customers.

The pastry and sandwich were delicious with coffee

We have been coming here regularly for many years. Great place after a walk or bike ride, friendly and adequate service and a beautiful terrace. Last week I was shocked by the croquette/cheese/healthy sandwich, etc. for €15, so I stuck to a soft drink.

Update '24: We really enjoyed our two dinners at KoaikersHuus this year too. The atmosphere with grandma (70), child (10) and dog (2.5) was again super relaxed. The service was top and the food was excellent. We ask that you make a reservation in advance for dinner, otherwise you will be left empty-handed. There is a café, cakes and snacks in the afternoon, which can also be enjoyed on the beautiful outdoor terrace. We will come back again in 2025. The anticipation is great! We had a wonderful evening, with great food, delicious wine, super nice service in a relaxed, cozy atmosphere. We find the prices to be absolutely reasonable for the services provided. Wonderful place to rest during your bike or walk and enjoy a delicious piece of cake or a delicious lunch/dinner! Martine always provides special art, this time photos of birds on Ameland and ceramic birds on a wooden pedestal. Behind the restaurant there is a fantastic nature reserve where you can enjoy walking. Our Dibbes enjoyed it. We were welcomed enthusiastically but also stately by a beautiful Frisian! Now a year later we had a nice and delicious lunch with son Sven!

Nice place and nice separation of smokers and non-smokers. Food was fine, although the salad was a bit meager for the price. Charge 0.50 for a glass of tap water… pooh pooh…. So unnecessary... oh and at least mention it... no, not because of the amount, but so out of date

We have been coming to Ameland for several years but had never eaten here. First of all, very friendly service. Very interested and correct. Secondly, the food. In a word; DELICIOUS. Everything tasted great, even the side dishes were excellent. Knowing this and knowing that we come to Ameland every year, we will definitely come back more often. Recommended!! We have now been here again during our annual holiday on Ameland and the food remains a feast. Every dish has a taste sensation.

Today we went to the duck decoy early in the morning. And we wanted a cup of coffee before the excursion. Unfortunately, the restaurant was open at the same time as the excursion. The door was already open. The excursion started earlier in the restaurant. Because the door was open, I went inside. We were immediately asked what are you doing here and how do you get in? I got there just before 10 and I was allowed to leave again because it was not yet 10 o'clock. Fortunately, the excursion started then and it was still fun. After the excursion we went somewhere else to get something.

We were surprised by the chef's 3-course menu and that is highly recommended. A cozy atmosphere and accessible chef and his wife. Brought a delicious jar of homemade rhubarb to enjoy a little bit at home. If you are on Ameland then you should definitely visit this place.

I and we used to eat here several times during our holiday on Ameland. And eating is enjoyment, beautiful, tender dishes. I always have the surprise menu and it is perfect every time! My unfortunately deceased wife also enjoyed visiting Martine and Rick. My wife was a picky eater due to her illness, but Rick always managed to create something that she enjoyed. Ben zelf een lastige eter, heb dit aangegeven en er is fantastisch mee omgegaan. Het eten was heerlijk en het personeel super vriendelijk en gezellig. De verhouding van de prijs en het eten is helemaal super. Zeker een aanrader om hier te eten!

Gemütliches Ambiente, das Lamm war gut, die Entenbrust leider zu hart, die Beilagen sehr klein. Und die Preise dafür waren ganz eindeutig zu hoch!

Freundliches Personal. Bei gutem Wetter, kann man draußen auf Rattan Stühlen sitzen. Auf den Tischen, sind kleine Dekorationen gestellt. Bereitgestellt ist eine Ess- und Getränke Karte. Bei vielen Gastverkehr kann man auch per Scanner bestellen.

Een fantastisch restaurant op één van de mooiste plekjes op Ameland. Eigenaren Rik en Martine hebben hart voor hun zaak en dat merk je aan alles. Alles wat je hier eet is heerlijk en je kan er altijd een passende en lekkere wijn bij krijgen. Ook de bedieningsmedewerkers zijn vriendelijk en professioneel. Het is altijd weer een feestje om bij het Koaikershuus te mogen eten. Als wij op Ameland zijn slaan we het nooit over. Tot snel!

Heerlijk gegeten met mijn vriend! Het eten was erg lekker, de medewerkers waren zeer vriendelijk. Het interieur is sfeervol. Het is wel een aanrader om te reserveren want het is maar een klein restaurant. Het is een stukje fietsen vanuit Nes maar het is zeker de moeite waard. Tot de volgende keer!

Het terras mag wel een update, maar het personeel was vriendelijk. Snelle en correcte bediening. Binnen zag het er wel prima uit. Heerlijk geluncht.

Heerlijk gegeten. Mooie vis- en vleesgerechten en een heerlijke (Argentijnse Malbec 👍) wijn erbij. Een Franse kaart met voor iedereen wat wils. En vriendelijke bediening die duidelijk passie hebben voor hun vak. Een aanrader voor wie een avond culinair wil genieten. Wij komen zeker terug!

Wir hatten für drei Personen für 18 Uhr online einen Tisch reserviert - klappte wunderbar. Das Lokal ist rustikal, mit viel Holz und gemütlich eingerichtet. Gegessen haben wir als Vorspeise Senfsuppe und Carpaccio; alles sehr lecker. Als Hauptgericht kamen Lammfilet und Entenbrust auf den Tisch … schmeckte alles vorzüglich. Als Nachspeise wählten wir Zitronenparfait, Creme Brulee und Tiramisu; schmeckte auch gut, allerdings ist hier das Tiramisu ohne Alkohol … der „Likörschuss“ fehlte dann doch. Der Fahrer trank Apfelschorle und die Damen Chardonnay (sehr lecker), der hier als offener Wein (also Glasweise) zum Ausschank kommt (Glas für 6,-€, Flasche 30,-€). Der Service war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Wir empfehlen das Restaurant gerne. Wir sind oft auf Ameland und haben hier noch nie besser gegessen! Das Lokal liegt ein ganzes Stück hinter Buren und ist an der Straße das letzte Haus auf der linken Seite.

Auf verschiedenen Radtouren und beim Besuch der Entenkoje, immer ein Zwischenziel bzw. Startpunkt. Der Service ist immer sehr freundlich und schnell. Habe dort bislang nur Kuchen gegessen und der war immer sehr gut.

Vanmiddag heb ik hier thee met taart gegeten op het terras! Aanrader na een prachtige fietstocht! Neem vooral de pecannotencranberry taart, zo lekker. Goede bediening en alles top!

Mooi als start of eindpunt van een wandeling door de Kooiduinen. Binnen sfeervol. Vaak expositie van kunstwerken van lokale kunstenaars. Heerlijk gebak!

Pommes wenig und matschig, wabbelig. Lauchsuppe nach meinem Geschmack auch nicht so lecker. Personal, Ambiente und Kaffee jedoch hervorragend.

Duur voor een karige maaltijd tenopzichte van de rest van Ameland, uur later was ik ook wat misselijk.

Schönes Lokal etwas abseits gelegen. Eigentlich sehr ruhig gelegen wenn nicht die Fehrielager in direkter Nachbarschaft liegen würden,was uns aber weniger gestört hat. Kinder müssen sich austoben. Kaffee und Kuchen werden gut und sind zu empfehlen. Lohnt sich aber für einen Abstecher wenn man eine gemütliche Rad Tour macht.
