Ruben's Haute Cuisine in De Weteringschans

What a wonderful evening I had here. The atmosphere in the restaurant is incredibly intimate and the presentation of the dishes is truly beautiful, such as that one course served with a subtly burning candle in the middle of the plate. Everything was perfect down to the last detail. The staff was very attentive and the wine selection paired perfectly with the refined flavors on the table. I would love to come back here again.

This place was special. Great place for a date. Friendly servers, delicious food that you can’t get many places. Wine was superb as well.

Considering this is a Michelin-starred fine dining restaurant, the price is genuinely decent, but the service we received was a huge letdown. Our table was assigned to a middle-aged man in uniform who made us feel uncomfortable from the start. Because he seemed impatient, he ended up serving the first course while we were still working on our starters, rushing the entire meal. As soon as we finished a plate, he would clear it and immediately drop off the next, tossing the fork and knife down messily as if we were at a casual diner rather than a fine dining establishment. My friend had noted a birthday message when booking the table and received a confirmation, but when dessert time came, nothing happened. When my friend asked the waiter about it, he didn't even reply, explain—basic hospitality would at least be saying he would look into it. Eventually, a cake arrived, but it just had a 'Congratulations' in chocolate instead. On the bright side, the food itself was great. We also noticed another middle-aged man who wasn't wearing a uniform, and he was exceptionally professional. I just wish he had been in charge of our table!

Amazing experience all the way! Best meal of our vacation. Staff is attentive and personable. The chef and sommelier are exceptional!
