They asked me if I wanted the coffee for here or to go. I said for here and I still got a plastic cup whilst other people got actual coffee cups or glasses. Coffee served in a plastic cup inside is just a no go. A shame because it is a nice place.

Espresso is waaay over extracted, milk burnt. Staffs are nice but i still wouldnt recommend.

A very interesting and unusual place. The tables are unusually sized. Delicious pastries, delicious coffee. Cozy atmosphere. The downsides are the limited space inside and the small number of tables, but it's quite cozy.

Incredible cardamom buns and coffee

We stopped by The Scandinavian Embassy in De Pijp for coffee and pastries and had a very pleasant experience. The coffee was excellent, and the fresh Scandinavian pastries were delicious. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, making it a great place to slow down and enjoy a break. Friendly service completed the experience. A lovely spot for quality coffee and a taste of Scandinavia in Amsterdam.

Honestly the coffee is good and the pastries are fine too but the nose pierced guy is so rude. He speaks so unmannered to customers. If you don’t wanna work in service, don’t. No one is forcing you to. Very wild for someone who doesn’t speak Dutch but still has the biggest attitude in there.

At a place that charges €6.15 for a small matcha, you don’t expect them to pour pre-made matcha from a plastic bottle. On top of that, I had to remind them about my order twice. In the end, I just walked away without taking it.

They are always friendly and the coffee is wonderful. I will soon become a repeat customer!

I got a matcha latte there, which was delicious! My friends tried their infamous pastries as well and were very satisfied. The place is very cute and cozy but maybe a little bit a victim of their own popularity. The place was packed and the staff seemed slightly overwhelmed, which seemed to affect their warmth. Still a really nice place!

Highly recommend! I'm on a hunt for the best coffee in Amsterdam and this is my #1 so far. Great coffee and really nice vibes. The barista gave me excellent advice to change my order and try something different, and I'm so glad I did. Will definitely return!

Scrumptious cinnamon buns : warm, tasty, not too sweet, soft and a little bit crunchy on the edges. Basically PERFECT. Wonderful service and very chill atmosphere. Lots of seats available for a Sunday morning.

No menu or prices visible so gotta guess what there is. Staff more interested in their phones than in the guests. Coffee was reasonable, but overpriced for what it was.

Rude, obnoxious and nonsensical male who acts as a bouncer! What happened to these guys to make them so arrogant, since corona??? As a customer you expect respect to part with your money - these guys think they’re so special. You are not curing cancer you are just making ok espresso! Check your attitude as it is appalling.

This was the first place we stopped at after we unpacked, and we were pleasantly greeted with top-friendly service! We ordered a cappuccino with oat milk and a cinnamon pastry. My word, the coffee was as smooth as Samuel L. Jackson in Pulp Fiction, and the pastry was so fresh, light, with a beautiful balance between sweet and pastry. Would definitely recommend this place and will make sure to go again.

Excellent pastries to take away or eat in, just like in Copenhagen! My cinnamon roll was good but not amazing. It was quite soft and not very filled, but it tasted good. However, I think I might have been poisoned by something because I coughed all morning after eating it. The apple cake was very good. Slow but very friendly service.

It was too crowded and the coffee beans they sell are too expensive.

Overhyped. It’s okayish coffee and cinnamon buns. It’s not “relaxed” or “cozy” due to the tiktok-line; it’s crowded. The interior looks like a squat with furniture collected from the street

I don’t get why the hype of the place. I paid 9,5 eur for a latte and a cappuccino (not even with a tiny cookie inc), in a place where there is just one ridiculously small cabin toilet, with ZERO ventilation and less than one meter away from the kitchen. Not everything counts to fill the counter at the end of the day guys.

Really nice place, especially for brunch inside and their sweet rolls. However several times I’ve been there recently, there are always people smoking on the outside seats which ruins the experience if you want to be outside.

It was really busy but we found a seat at the big table. Very worth it for the cinnamon scroll which was unbelievable.

Cozy place! Exquisite Coffee, fresh out of oven pastry!

Undeniably the best (cinnamon and cardamom) buns and flat whites in town here. Sadly, i noticed the buns getting smaller lately :( A big thanks for not suffocating your buns in sugary creamy heavy icing like many other places do!

Great atmosphere and a neighbourhood I really like. I always stop by for a coffee when I’m around here visiting Amsterdam, and all the food has been very good.

When I had a question about the menu, was told by the lady behind the bar “I gave you a menu so you can read it” in a snappy tone, didn’t even wait for me to finish my question. I work in service myself and I don’t see how one can be so exhausted by work by the time of 10 am to start giving the attitude to guests. Can’t comment on the cinnamon buns but the other two things we ended up ordering were incredibly stale, were nearly inedible. We were hungry and didn’t feel like entering a sarcasm competition against the employees, so just struggled through it, paid and left. Way too overpriced, unless the snarky comments cost extra

I usually don’t leave reviews, so trust me — this is a special case. I’m not the kind of guy who leaves reviews everywhere. I just came in to order a cappuccino. The place was full, but there was a free bench. From the moment I walked in, I was completely ignored. When I tried to get the attention of the staff, they acted like they couldn’t hear me at all. When I tried to sit at the bar, I was told the seat was “taken.” he talk to me like a piece of s**t. I ended up sitting on the bench, waiting for someone to come to me, like a dog waiting to be noticed. Eventually someone did, and I ordered a cappuccino. The person serving me spoke in a cold, dismissive way, as if they genuinely don’t see people. I got my coffee and sat back down. By the way, the coffee itself was absolutely average. When I asked another staff member if there was sugar, that person talked to me the same way — like I was a piece of s**t for even asking. To make it worse, a person who came in after me was allowed to sit in the exact spot I was told was “occupied.” This is the perfect place if you want to be treated like a piece of s**t. People who hate their job and hate people should not be working in customer service.

Our pastries were both cold and rather stale, plus we were seated by a couple with 3 screaming children - the parents were both on their phones while the kids were finished eating and just making noise for the attention of it. All in all, far from the best cafe experience we had in Amsterdam.

Very, very good coffee and pastries (they have my favorite - cardamon bun). I’ll definitely come here again when I visit Amsterdam even thought is not in the city center. They accept cards only.

We went there on a Saturday, it was quite busy. So we didn’t feel the “relaxed vibes” they are claiming. We had to wait in an invisible line, where last come first serve was mostly the rule. The staff wasn’t happy when we faced her with the fact that she seated the last people who came. She used inappropriate, rather racist, words to tell other people that they need to be seated to order. Nevertheless, other staffs were nice, and the cinnamon bun and the coffee were really good.

Perfect food and drinks. It smells like in the childhood when granny or mummy is baking buns and rolls. Nice music - retro rock - just for calm Saturday cap of coffee. And small Santa’s on ears of one of the baker girl to remember that holidays are coming. Staff is attentive and friendly. The espresso butter and rye bread with cranberry jam and cheese are tasty

What happened to the best buns in town?! Today I went in after not being here for a few months and the cinnamon bun was dry, burnt (black on one side) and the taste was not as good as it used to be. Coffee was ok, a bit cold when it arrived at my table. And yet everything was way more expensive...too bad.

Asked specifically if the cinnamon buns were warm before ordering, as I only like them warm and just fresh, he said yes so I bought one for €4.80 (they increased again), only to find out that he gave me a cold older one

My friends and I sat by the window because those were the only seats available. It’s a very popular spot, so people are constantly coming in for takeaway coffee and the door keeps opening and closing. Which is totally fine. But the staff repeatedly opened it and left it fully open, without considering that people were sitting right next to it and a very cold wind was blowing in from outside.

I tried the bun and hot chocolate. I found the bun to be very pretty but was somewhat dry. The drink was solid but not something which stands out for me personally. However, it has a lovely vibe and very nice staff who are calm and smiley regardless of how busy it gets.

The place is lovely, small but with several options for sitting and enjoying a delicious coffee. The matcha is very good, flavorful, and well-prepared. Computers are not allowed.

Cardamom and cinnamon bun are both good, the mushroom danish is also good. Coffee and matcha latte are mediocre though. I like the interior, feels like sitting in a community cafe. The store should mind hygiene around the display area since when I visited at the end of August there’re some flies.

The cinnamon roll is exceptional!

The about page showed it’s student-friendly and good for laptop working. It needs to updated. The light is relatively low and a bit dark to be honest. The staff was really friendly and nice. The cardamom roll was sold out at 1430.

Super cute place to grab a coffee or matcha to go. Everything is made well and the coffee was super smooth. Would definitely recommend. They have pastries too, even some vegan and gluten free options. I tried the almond bun (vegan) and it was good for a vegan pastry! Not really places to sit besides waiting to pick up your order but great service and good coffee!

Their coffee is excellent. The place is crowded and quite small, and there are few tables, so even if you order to go, you'll have to wait. They have quarter-kilo bags of coffee and instant sachets, but I haven't tried them. And their cinnamon bun is legendary.

Flat white was too sour, but the cinnamon roll was delicious. One male staff was grumpy and rude to me for no reason and clearly treated some customers better than others. Won’t go again, and definitely wouldn’t recommend it unless you want to start your day in a bad mood

I really love this café in Amsterdam and often come here whenever I want a good coffee. Today I visited with my friends and, as always, the coffee was delicious. However, there was a misunderstanding: I paid at the back register, but as I was leaving, the gentleman at the front register called out that I hadn’t paid. He repeated it in front of other customers, which felt unpleasant. Honestly, I felt bad, and having to say “no, I already paid” was uncomfortable for me.

Used to love this place (and still love their cardamom buns) but lately the staff is unfriendly and lowkey aggressive :/ Firstly, I was being told off when I asked for decaf as it is not a normal thing to ask for. Then the second time the guy was super rude when my 60y old dad asked for an espresso with more hot water (lungo) and we were being told off again because ‘they don’t do such a thing’ as it was a disgrace to ask for. Then (after me literally begging them for espresso with hot water) another female employee came and heard the rude convo with the guy so she said ‘we will do it for you’ and told him to take my order. Then I paid and he was summing up my order to the barista and loudly and in annoyed way said ‘one cappuccino and one of ‘those things’’ (meaning the lungo). Absolutely unwelcoming and rude staff😒

Second time that I get a really unfriendly staff. Made me feel unwelcome, the arrogance of the guy that was behind the counter was unacceptable. I left without ordering and went next door at Nook- much friendlier and coffee is just as great! Not going back to Scandinavian. Tip to owner- Train your staff to some basic, common decency and respect !

Pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. Upon entering, you're immediately asked if you'd like to sit inside. There's plenty of room in the back to quietly enjoy the excellent coffee and (warm, fresh) cinnamon roll.

The coffee at this place is always super nice and delicious. I love their latte. The staff is very nice as well. The pastries are fresh and nice, i tried the cinnamon roll and it was decent. The outdoor space could be better as it gets very busy always and sitting outside is hard.

Cardamom bun is yum. I remember coffee was alright. A bit busy/chaotic at times so the staff seems distracted (fair). Can sit nicely at the table in the back.

The coffee here is good, but the place feels a bit chaotic and crowded. The system doesn’t seem to handle the number of people well. I also wasn’t a fan of the baked goods sitting out right in front of where people are seated, it made them feel a bit exposed to germs.

The cappuccino was very weak and poorly frothed a disappointment, as I had expected more after reading the reviews. In addition, a 250-gram bag of coffee beans costs over €20, which is quite expensive. Tip: if you charge such prices, please make sure the milk is frothed properly first. On the positive side, the atmosphere in the café was pleasant. The female staff member at the back of the café was very friendly my compliments for her customer service. The restroom was also clean and hygienic. Unfortunately, the poor quality of the barista outweighs the positives for me. That’s why I can only give this experience a 1, as it was very disappointing.

Service wasn’t great, but damnit, I’ll return for that outrageously delicious cinnamon bun.

I understand a no laptop policy but please put up signs, especially on bar tops to let people know or tell people when they sit down. Sometimes that just force people to work on their phones instead :/
