Very, very good coffee and pastries (they have my favorite - cardamon bun). I’ll definitely come here again when I visit Amsterdam even thought is not in the city center. They accept cards only.

We went there on a Saturday, it was quite busy. So we didn’t feel the “relaxed vibes” they are claiming. We had to wait in an invisible line, where last come first serve was mostly the rule. The staff wasn’t happy when we faced her with the fact that she seated the last people who came. She used inappropriate, rather racist, words to tell other people that they need to be seated to order. Nevertheless, other staffs were nice, and the cinnamon bun and the coffee were really good.

Perfect food and drinks. It smells like in the childhood when granny or mummy is baking buns and rolls. Nice music - retro rock - just for calm Saturday cap of coffee. And small Santa’s on ears of one of the baker girl to remember that holidays are coming. Staff is attentive and friendly. The espresso butter and rye bread with cranberry jam and cheese are tasty

What happened to the best buns in town?! Today I went in after not being here for a few months and the cinnamon bun was dry, burnt (black on one side) and the taste was not as good as it used to be. Coffee was ok, a bit cold when it arrived at my table. And yet everything was way more expensive...too bad.

Asked specifically if the cinnamon buns were warm before ordering, as I only like them warm and just fresh, he said yes so I bought one for €4.80 (they increased again), only to find out that he gave me a cold older one

My friends and I sat by the window because those were the only seats available. It’s a very popular spot, so people are constantly coming in for takeaway coffee and the door keeps opening and closing. Which is totally fine. But the staff repeatedly opened it and left it fully open, without considering that people were sitting right next to it and a very cold wind was blowing in from outside.

I tried the bun and hot chocolate. I found the bun to be very pretty but was somewhat dry. The drink was solid but not something which stands out for me personally. However, it has a lovely vibe and very nice staff who are calm and smiley regardless of how busy it gets.

The place is lovely, small but with several options for sitting and enjoying a delicious coffee. The matcha is very good, flavorful, and well-prepared. Computers are not allowed.

Cardamom and cinnamon bun are both good, the mushroom danish is also good. Coffee and matcha latte are mediocre though. I like the interior, feels like sitting in a community cafe. The store should mind hygiene around the display area since when I visited at the end of August there’re some flies.

Amazing place with really good coffee and tasty pastries (cinnamon buns! Miam). The place is cosy and welcoming. But what we like the most is how all the people who works there were so kind and helpful. I will definitely come back! Merci pour tout.

The cinnamon roll is exceptional!

The about page showed it’s student-friendly and good for laptop working. It needs to updated. The light is relatively low and a bit dark to be honest. The staff was really friendly and nice. The cardamom roll was sold out at 1430.

Super cute place to grab a coffee or matcha to go. Everything is made well and the coffee was super smooth. Would definitely recommend. They have pastries too, even some vegan and gluten free options. I tried the almond bun (vegan) and it was good for a vegan pastry! Not really places to sit besides waiting to pick up your order but great service and good coffee!

Their coffee is excellent. The place is crowded and quite small, and there are few tables, so even if you order to go, you'll have to wait. They have quarter-kilo bags of coffee and instant sachets, but I haven't tried them. And their cinnamon bun is legendary.

Every Sunday we are here for morning coffee ! And today is their 12th birthday l. Happy birthday Scandinavian Embassy!

Flat white was too sour, but the cinnamon roll was delicious. One male staff was grumpy and rude to me for no reason and clearly treated some customers better than others. Won’t go again, and definitely wouldn’t recommend it unless you want to start your day in a bad mood

I really love this café in Amsterdam and often come here whenever I want a good coffee. Today I visited with my friends and, as always, the coffee was delicious. However, there was a misunderstanding: I paid at the back register, but as I was leaving, the gentleman at the front register called out that I hadn’t paid. He repeated it in front of other customers, which felt unpleasant. Honestly, I felt bad, and having to say “no, I already paid” was uncomfortable for me.

Second time that I get a really unfriendly staff. Made me feel unwelcome, the arrogance of the guy that was behind the counter was unacceptable. I left without ordering and went next door at Nook- much friendlier and coffee is just as great! Not going back to Scandinavian. Tip to owner- Train your staff to some basic, common decency and respect !

Used to love this place (and still love their cardamom buns) but lately the staff is unfriendly and lowkey aggressive :/ Firstly, I was being told off when I asked for decaf as it is not a normal thing to ask for. Then the second time the guy was super rude when my 60y old dad asked for an espresso with more hot water (lungo) and we were being told off again because ‘they don’t do such a thing’ as it was a disgrace to ask for. Then (after me literally begging them for espresso with hot water) another female employee came and heard the rude convo with the guy so she said ‘we will do it for you’ and told him to take my order. Then I paid and he was summing up my order to the barista and loudly and in annoyed way said ‘one cappuccino and one of ‘those things’’ (meaning the lungo). Absolutely unwelcoming and rude staff😒

Pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. Upon entering, you're immediately asked if you'd like to sit inside. There's plenty of room in the back to quietly enjoy the excellent coffee and (warm, fresh) cinnamon roll.

The coffee at this place is always super nice and delicious. I love their latte. The staff is very nice as well. The pastries are fresh and nice, i tried the cinnamon roll and it was decent. The outdoor space could be better as it gets very busy always and sitting outside is hard.

Cardamom bun is yum. I remember coffee was alright. A bit busy/chaotic at times so the staff seems distracted (fair). Can sit nicely at the table in the back.

The coffee here is good, but the place feels a bit chaotic and crowded. The system doesn’t seem to handle the number of people well. I also wasn’t a fan of the baked goods sitting out right in front of where people are seated, it made them feel a bit exposed to germs.

The cappuccino was very weak and poorly frothed a disappointment, as I had expected more after reading the reviews. In addition, a 250-gram bag of coffee beans costs over €20, which is quite expensive. Tip: if you charge such prices, please make sure the milk is frothed properly first. On the positive side, the atmosphere in the café was pleasant. The female staff member at the back of the café was very friendly my compliments for her customer service. The restroom was also clean and hygienic. Unfortunately, the poor quality of the barista outweighs the positives for me. That’s why I can only give this experience a 1, as it was very disappointing.

Service wasn’t great, but damnit, I’ll return for that outrageously delicious cinnamon bun.

I understand a no laptop policy but please put up signs, especially on bar tops to let people know or tell people when they sit down. Sometimes that just force people to work on their phones instead :/

Sat outside and had a coffee and both of the pastries. The coffee is good and the pastries heavenly. Bit overpriced but it’s to be expected in Amsterdam Staff could be nicer, the man behind the counter repeatedly was dismissive and didn’t smile once.

Mid service and mid food - there are much better bakeries in Amsterdam.

I went yesterday and had one cinnamon bun and one cardamom bun and while eating them it felt like I had sand grinding between my teeth ! Overall very nice but idk maybe check the way you're making these

The coffee is excellent and the decor is really calming. However, the staff are standoffish and make you feel uncomfortable. They don’t really acknowledge that you are there and give the whole place a pretentious atmosphere. When we went to pay they ignored us for a while and then when we were eventually helped they were very abrupt. It’s not like the cafe was full, one barista was packing shelves watching us wait while the others were chatting or on their phones. Disappointing end to a good coffee.

Great coffee but the staff there really bring it down. It seems like they to good to even say hello even after I greeted them first. They sit on the floor behind the bar playing on their phones while you wait to be seated. Pity really.

A bit cramped up in terms of space but yummiest cardamom and cinnamon buns ever. Also love the hot chocolate from Peru. Lemonade is quite nice as well.

Beautiful space, nice, quiet and serene. Wonderfully decorated and immersive into where they want to take you. Nice, simple menu and coffee was great. I had what I believe was a Kenyan roast with the cardamom roll. All delicious and served by very kind and attentive staff. Much thanks for making me feel at home There are small tables and a patio, as well as a community table. That was very nice

This is one of our absolute fav cafes from around the world and so happy it lives thought the years, always great to come back, a staple of Amsterdam city breaks and our morning routines. The best cardamom buns and the whole experience of seeing & smelling them being done. Perfect for the morning run as well.

Such a cute little spot! Great ambiance and nice food (: Had an iced tea and a cinnamon bun. Then it was near closing time and we got an extra cinnamon and cardamom bun from the staff! They were exceptionally kind! Highly recommend.

My matcha latte had a fishy taste. When I asked the barista to switch to a regular latte, he denied with an unfriendly tone and made me pay for the new coffee. ( saying: but that’s what you ordered) Won’t come back to this place.

Great coffee and the best cinnamon buns in Amsterdam!

Flat white with smooth and rich texture. Coffee has nutty and spicy aftertaste, distinct despite 180 ml cup used.

I really like this place, it is a bit small for the amount of customers which often show up, but as a Swede who lived in Amsterdam for a while, the baked goods felt like a taste of home.

The cardamom buns are perfect. And I love the no-iPad/no laptop policy

i often come here, and always leave disappointed. the service makes me feel awkward & unwelcome (always). half of the charm of a place like this is the service - giving it a fair try but don’t think i will come again.

I had another idea in mind, and I was disappointed. Although the coffee is good, the rest of the food menu is not appetizing at all. We ordered a cinnamon bun and a rye bread with cheese, and we did not like either the bun or the toast. The bun was extremely sweet, and the cheese rye bread was bland. Only the coffee is worth it. The establishment is very small, and there are too many people and noise.

The staff is very nice and I generally like this Cafe but the iced late is so incredibly expensive compared to anywhere else, especially since it's so small. Really disappointing

Very tasty coffee and the cinnamon bun, which we tried for the second time, was nice and creamy this time instead of dry. The cheese and mushroom tart is served warm and tasted fantastic. The atmosphere is relaxed and the staff friendly.

I paid 5.5 for the tiniest portion of Hot chocolate. Seriously a smaller glass would already be not a glass but a shot of hot chocolate

Good coffee and lots of choices on the menu! The cinnamon buns and cardamom rolls were delicious! Hopefully the courtyard can be renovated so that you can also sit outside, that would be a good addition!

Good coffee but very rude owner or manager

Scandinavian Embassy combines a relaxed, rustic interior with serious coffee credentials. The baristas know their stuff, the vibe is peaceful, and the back garden room is a hidden gem. Great place to slow down and appreciate a well-crafted brew.

Wow what a place! It was busy but everything was of the highest quality. the barista took time to talk with me about their selection of beans, he was extremely knowledgeable and excited to share. thank you for a wonderful experience!

tasty coffee and yummy pastries

There is a children's park right across the street, which is a good option if you have children. It's a very small but sweet place, a local experience. I drank Americano and it was successful. The donut was delicious too. I recommend

Super nice and relaxed atmosphere , unfortunately it took a while to get our coffees although there weren’t many people. The pastries were really good tho, so I would still recommend it nonetheless!

Super cosy place where you find the best cinnamon rolls in Amsterdam, and believe me after 7 years in the city, it’s the place to go for cinnamon roll. Coffees are also really good and the staff is friendly and welcoming

Great coffee and the yummiest cinnamon fresh buns

A perfect spot for a quick coffee break. I had a macchiato and sat outside watching the cyclists go by. It was an incredible coffee and a pleasant space to rest my legs. I had the one gluten-free item, it was a sweet and chocolatey, and very different from any dessert I had previously. The coffee was just superb.

I had a cappuccino with milk and a scoop of cocoa-coated oats and my girlfriend had a hot chocolate, and it was really delicious. In France it’s not as good, well done to you 👌🏻

I’d expect the smallest matcha ever for a whopping 6.25 to at least taste good. And the only alternative milk being oat? Strange.

We often come here (as a Swedish/NL family) to get a kanelbulle or cardemonbulle. I also bought the Semlor a few times in recent weeks. Everything was delicious and fresh until today. The Semlor were not fresh, just dry and wrinkled, the bulle were also very dry and not creamy. It all looked and tasted a day old. Very unfortunate because you pay quite a lot of money for this. In addition, the service was very unfriendly. The best man certainly wasn't having his day. Unfriendly, grumpy and seemed very stressed, even though we were the only ones in the bakery. Hopefully quality again next time....?

I come here every so often because the coffee never disappoints. The pastries are okay, definitely not on the same level as other bakeries. The service however, is usually lacking. 80% of the staff is quite cold, although this is a common theme in many coffee places. If you want to feel well accommodated and get a friendly greeting, you should not expect it here.
