Friendly staff and a warm welcome on the phone. Fast service: within 15 minutes, two delicious falafel sandwiches were ready, with a surprise extra cookie. Area for improvement: take (a little more) time to ask which salad the customer would like in their sandwich. The price is also a bit high in relation to the taste and quality.

Delicious (as far as I know fully) vegetarian Syrian food, but doesn't make a point of being vegetarian. ingredients are fresh, I had the tabouleh, lentil soup and the little "pizzas", bread was def fresh too. I took to go but service was very friendly and warm, will definitely come back.

Delicious authentic Syrian food, heaven for vegetarians! Friendly and welcoming service and a great atmosphere on Sunday evening, with beautiful Syrian music. 🤩 We ordered Sham Royal for 2 people, it was very delicious and filling meal. Restaurant staff was very friendly, checked with us whether we had any food allergies, explained us all the mazas and main dishes. We enjoyed the food and the experience. Thank you!

The most amazing Syrian vegetarian restaurant

We were the only people in there. My companion wanted to get the shared mezze's cos they thought that would be a better deal - the portions apart from the salad were really small. My companion ended up eating 2/3 if not 3/4 of the food and was still hungry so imagine how I felt. I don't feel like there was enough of anything to be able to tell you how good it was. For me it was under temperature, I think it's hard to tell the taste of chilled food. It looks good and my mate said they been there before and really rated it The guy serving us was sweet and very polite and gave good service - including a free dessert (unfortunately I don't do desserts but I had taste - not my thing) but my companion ate hers and half of mine I think for most people (with the dessert) it would have been a sufficient lunch. But not cheap at over 15E with a drink and definitely not filling. Eating in ethnic cafe's in Amsterdam used to be 'goedkoop en lekker veel' Not any more! Forget your belly - eat with your eyes

Good food and variety of flavours

Everything we had was delicious. Almost everything is vegan and in any case all vegetarian dishes can be veganized. Service is a bit slow but I think it’s a good sign, as everything seemed pretty much homemade. Would definitely recommend it!

I had a very good meal here. The mezze were all tasty, although I think there could have been a little more variety. In addition, it sometimes took some effort to get the attention of the staff, also because you are sitting on a kind of mezzanine. Hence 4 stars instead of 5.

At one point I did find that there were a lot of loud noises when it was quite full, so if you are very sensitive to that you might want to be prepared. For the first time in ten years I have eaten such good food in Europe Of course, we were visiting the Netherlands and we went to breakfast in this restaurant. The owner of the shop has extensive experience in his work, not like some restaurants in Germany. Everyone is going to open a restaurant.. Sham Restaurant is aptly named The young man who received us was very humble and his food was very good From the cheese pools, the manakish, and the fava beans with tahini, I don't know how to describe this restaurant.. I advise anyone to try this restaurant and you will be happy.. Good luck...

A great restaurant, with delicious Syrian food. Everything is vegan or vegetarian but whatever you eat you will enjoy this. The staff are extremely kind and friendly. My girlfriend and I are both vegan so it was great for us to have so much choice. All of it delicious. We will definitely go again.

We had Maza Sham Special, and Halawet Jebneh as a dessert. It was nice food, the waiter took long time to come and write down our orders every time, also when bringing the bill, only two staff were in the whole restaurant and often no staff showing up in there 😅 Eventually the payment was only via cash, therefore I had to walk to the supermarket to get cash.

Had a great first experience with Syrian food, would visit again. Recommend the 9 starters course to share with friends. We also had the Tabakh Roho, Bamia and Foul Moudamas

Hebben heerlijk gegeten. Zelden zo'n uitgebreide vegetarische keuze gezien. We namen het menu met een selectie van negen verschillende gerechten. De geroosterde en gepureerde paprika, de baba hanoush, de saladedressing van granaatappelpitten, erg lekker allemaal.

Great restaurant, friendly service and great food!

It's amazing! We ordered the Sham Royal plate for two persons an already the starters (mazas) where overwhelmingly delicious. They were also presented nicely and arranged on the table like a beautiful ornament. The two guys serving us were very polite and took good care of us, asking if everything was fine, taking away empty plates, bottles or glasses and even cleaning the table in between the starters and the main course. We had a good time and a great food experience there and would definitely recommend Sham Maza to our friends and all people visiting amsterdam!

Heerlijk gegeten, vriendelijke bediening. De kaart is uitgebreid genoeg om de tafel vol lekkere gerechten te kunnen zetten, maar niet zo groot dat je niet meer weet wat te kiezen. De gerechten worden duidelijk omschreven en smaken super. Eten is vers en wordt met aandacht geserveerd. De zaak is smaakvol ingericht, je zit hier leuk. Wat beter kan: de wc's mogen wel wat netter, wc papier en handdoekjes waren op en de vloer was vies.

We ordered the Sham Maza Special of 9 Maza, with each one being very delicious, as well as the salad! We also ordered the Muhamara bread, as suggested by our server, who was very nice and explained our platter well. Restaurant is clean and quiet.

This place is fantastic! We got the maza sham platter of 6 and everything was really good. We also got the manakish jebneh and it was a delicious basically spinach and cheese stuffed pita. The highlights were definitely the muhammara and the manakish jebneh. Would definitely come back here next time I’m in the area!

The food is fresh and tasty and this is already worth going. Additionally, the service is quick and the place is great for a quiet dinner. There are plenty of vegan options.

Ordered the extensive menu for 2. We ate it with 2 adults and a child. 9 (cold) mezes such as divine hummus, muhamarra and baba ganoush (which are so much better than what you buy in a supermarket) and 3 main courses. It was beautifully prepared, extensive, fresh, nourishing, filling and above all very tasty. Even though the menu was for 2, they had provided 3 dishes of 2 dishes per piece, instead of 2. Very attentive. I don't believe you can order something here that isn't tasty. Very satisfied, shukran! This place closes at 9pm. East and West close later. Prices normal restaurant prices. You could also have lunch here with some mezzes!

Delicious food. The sham royal was taken for the entire table and the cold meze was excellent. Unfortunately, the main courses could not keep up with the level of the starters. The dishes could have been a little more seasoned and the okra was not fresh. Still enjoyed it. Service was good, shame there was no explanation for the cold meze.

While the food was good, there seemed to a similar texture and taste profile for most of the food. Some variation especially when going for a tasting menu might have been the wow factor. However, loved that the entire restaurant is vegetarian.

A vegetarian friend of mine was surprised that, as a non-vegetarian, I loved this restaurant so much and wanted to experience it too. I'm not the worst and I went along to the restaurant which I gave a 10 before ;) And now they get that 10 again. It was a copy of last time; delicious food, friendly fast service and a nice relaxed atmosphere. Was there anything that was not noticeable? Oh well, but those are all small negligible points that do not affect the final grade. And to deduct points for the fact that they are too far away to go there much more often, I think it is very exaggerated ;)

Right across from the Marco Polo tram stop. Watch for cyclists while crossing the street, though. Here's the math: Four stars for the great food, atmosphere and service. An added star for being all vegetarian, and major kudos for this. Minus one star for charging €6.95 for a bottle of water. We had the foul bel hummus and foul bel tahina, both were terrific. No ruinously loud cliche-rock oldies and disco-era music here, another big plus in Amsterdam. Great place...just avoid the water.
