Order inside yourself. It's fine, as there's limited room for staff. The location is great. Prices are sometimes absurdly high, even for this day and age (Weihen Stephaner for €8.80 is ridiculously expensive).

Completely ignored (and this was the second time we've been there) by the staff. You'll never see us there again.

After a few minutes I got up to order something else.

It's unbelievable that this place still exists. No staff on the patio, having to go inside to return glasses and take your own orders, and problems with the cash register. This elderly woman and elderly man in the kitchen can't handle this. Hopefully, new owners will find them soon.

Sitting down at one of their tables was one of the most disappointing experiences I've ever had. Upon sitting down and ordering a ginger ale, the old lady that probably owns the place started making fun of me for not ordering alcohol instead. In the very least she was pretty drunk, maybe also high, but she was in her late 50s and behaved like a teenager who peaked in high school. She proceeded to tell me that I'm "boring" and she walked away. she she returned she brought me the most god awful ginger ale that you could imagine drinking, it was like taking 2 huge spoons of sugar in your mouth. She brought my wife's wine in this abomination of a glass that was insanely thick and looked like we were in some old village from the 50s where glasses were just invented. Attaching a picture of the glass as proof. As we sit down, they started blasting electronic music at 4 pm and it was super super loud. Extremely disappointing.

Bad welcome in this cafe: we take the trouble to ask if we can sit on the terrace, a waitress answers us: wherever you want, no problem, 2 minutes later another waitress yells at us in a malicious tone because we moved 2 chairs... We left immediately!

First, I had to order at the bar because the waiter was nowhere to be found. Then I waited an hour (!!) for bitterballen, which never arrived. So I left. There are nicer places on the street, but avoid this place.

The waitress is not overly friendly. The espresso and coffee are not very tasty, the hot chocolate was nice. Definitely not recommended.

Very nice cafe to have a cup of coffee and a piece of cake in the afternoon and chat. The location is of course beautiful, but the staff and the drinks should not be forgotten. When I am in Utrecht and have the time, I will definitely be back.

Unfortunately, the service outside on the terrace took quite a while and the chocolate milk was rather lukewarm.

A beautiful little café in the middle of the busy center of Utrecht with a view over the canals. A good place to drink a delicious beer after a city walk 👍👌🏻

Wonderfully authentic Utrecht café where the service may not be that smooth, but you can no longer expect an owner who has been in charge since the 1970s to fly over the terrace anymore. What's wrong with walking in and ordering? Once again, very much a Utrecht cafe, but you may not understand that if you are not a real Utrecht.

We went for drinks with a group yesterday. Our bottle of wine was good and the snacks were tasty. The service, on the other hand, we don't have much good to say about it. The staff did not come out to take our order even though the entire terrace was full. Also saw several groups leaving because the staff was ignoring the terrace. Ultimately, we delivered our order ourselves and had to pay because the staff did not show up. order was not passed on correctly, so we received the wrong thing and some of it was not delivered at all. It may of course be the case that orders have to be placed at the bar, but this must be communicated. We would like to visit you again and hope that the service will be better. Have a nice weekend!

Waited 10 minutes before we could order. Then waited another 30 minutes for the drink to come (it didn't come). Finally went inside to get it myself. Fortunately the drinks were on the house! The location is beautiful, just a shame about the very poor service.

Highly recommended! I’ve been very disappointed with food in Netherlands, and decided not to relocate here because of this and the weather… but this is sort of establishment that temps me to come. Phenomenal service, best bitterballen (fried gravy) I’ve had, excellent carrot cake (unexpected but 😋) and great beer (love the Witte Trappist).

It was a wonderful stay here and we were well served, but a boss who shouts at her staff who are working up a sweat really upsets me, this is not the 19th century and these are not slaves. Dear employees, please find another workplace to work in the ministry, you will be treated better there.

Had a drink on the terrace of 't Heen en Weer. It took quite a while before we got a drink. We ordered bitterballen and spring rolls here for drinks. However, we got cheese sticks and spring rolls. After indicating this, they took it away and then a few minutes later the exact same thing was almost thrown on the table. We didn't even have time to say again that we hadn't ordered this before the waiter was already gone. Finally got our order. When we indicated that we wanted to pay, we had to wait more than 10 minutes because the service had forgotten about us. In short, the terrace was nice because of the sun. However, I don't have to go to this place again because of the staff.

Very big scammers. I live 7 years in NL and it is the first time that they charged for the tap water. I repeat for the tap water Especially the old lady totally rude. Avoid at all cost.

Nice sitting area outside on the canal. Management is messy. Seem understaffed. Got lunch without drinks. If you don't have enough staff, don't open your patio.

Very bad service!! we ordered vegetarian and meat bitterballen and got only on portion of meat bitterballen. When we explained we ordered also vegetarian they told us we already got them with the meat mixed which was not the cases. In the end we had to pay both for the mistake they made!!

Ff een lekker biertje gedronken op een mooi punt in de stad Utrecht

Super schönes Café direkt am Kanal mit sehr freundlicher Bedienung. Sehr leckeres Essen, die Hamburger sind außergewöhnlich und haben uns sehr gut geschmeckt.

We hebben hier heerlijk buiten gezeten in het zonnetje, met een groep van 6 volwassenen en 3 jonge kinderen. We werden snel geholpen door het vriendelijke personeel en hebben hier wat gedronken en lekker geluncht. De kinderen kregen nog een chocolaatje en een lolly. Ze hebben ook mooi kunnen kijken bij het tropische zeeaquarium. De wc is binnen in de 'kelder', je moet hierbij wel een ietwat smalle steile trap naar beneden. Houd hier rekening mee als je slecht ter been bent.

Great atmosphere and excellent staff.

Zeer trage bediening, volk op het terras werd niet opgevolgd... Munt thee was goed, 50cent extra voor honing zou ok zijn , moest deze niet versuikerd zijn .... Chai latte was zeer waterachtig....

Es gibt super feine Sachen, Sandwiches, Kroketten und vieles mehr, einfach Schlemmern nach Lust und Laune. Unbedingt auch die Limonade probieren. Die Terrasse mit Sicht auf den Kanal ist sehr gemütlich und toll gelegen. Die Bedienung ist freundlich und bediente uns gut gelaunt. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

El sitio esta super bien ubicado, y los camareros super agradables. Pero la limonada estaba super aguada, no sabia a nada, las patatas fritas son super caras para lo que es. Se aprovechan mucho de la localizacion y la materia prima no es buena. No pienso volver

Eetgelegenheid op goede plek maar erg simpele lunchkaart. Eten verder prima maar duurde erg lang voordat we geholpen werden.

Voor afhaal open gedurende de coronaperiode. Vriendelijk personeel. Leuke kraam met vrolijke muziek en leuke producten. Samen met mijn vriendin hier een warme chocomel met slagroom en een cappuccino gehaald. Beide goed warm en de chocomel was leuk gedecoreerd met hartjes. Prijs was 6 euro. Voor herhaling vatbaar.

Perfecte plek voor een koffie to go of warme choco met slagroom tegen een zeer schappelijke prijs. Ook zeer klantvriendelijk, dus wij komen hier steeds terug!

Een buitenloketje in lockdown 2 dat 's avonds nog open is. Heel fijn! Perfecte plek voor een warme choc of cappuccino tijdens je avondwandeling.
